This is a good site for crowd funding info, I would suggest the OP et al make contact with them to arrange for listing campaigns on their site

Ahhhhh, GMC rose to 500 sat after when it was added to Poloniex, of course it experienced some correction but overall there's some nice growth in the coin.

Anyway the question is which library should receive the first game?
1086  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Advice needed for short film crowdfunding campaign on: January 06, 2015, 03:51:05 AM
Thanks for your interest in our campaign and your kind offer of sponsorship. Is this the payment tool you referred to in your reply? https://www.coinpayments.net/ If so, I'll look into integrating it into the campaign. We've decided to run the campaign on the production company website (http://kalifilmproductions.com) and it will be going live, along with the full list of perks, on Friday. It's encouraging to hear that your own campaign is going so well!

yes, that's the tool.

1090  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Announcing - Bitfrore - Bitcoin Cold Paper Wallet Printer Crowdfunding Campaign on: January 05, 2015, 03:24:42 AM
look at the date...
this is more than one year old

If a thread is "too old" it should be retired (not searchable).   I saw a historic post -- '10K bitcoins for 3 pizzas' -- a few days ago, although I didn't post to I still appreciated the historic nature of it from a distance.

Nevertheless, as for my post here, I want to connect to creative thinkers in the cryptocurrency space, particularly with those who have the audacity to start crowdfunding campaigns to help finance their vision.  That group is a tiny fraction of already small group of people.   As you can see, even back when the thread was first created it wasn't well received.    My appreciation of the OPs efforts are fresh and true.

1091  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crowdtilt: Launched an open source crowdfunding solution w/ BTC as option. on: January 04, 2015, 08:33:27 PM
good info, EMC2 will be able to use this in the future since many of our projects will likely involve crowd funding.
1092  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Announcing - Bitfrore - Bitcoin Cold Paper Wallet Printer Crowdfunding Campaign on: January 04, 2015, 08:05:05 PM
Hi,

I've taken my botcoin paper wallet printing project as far as I can with my limited funds.
I need support to cover the startup costs to bring my printer to the market.

Please support my crowdfunding campaign

And help make bitfrore a reality.

1093  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-07-08 Crowdfunding campaign launched by New York-based bitcoin exchange. on: January 04, 2015, 07:47:56 PM

Raised 1300+ of the 25K goal, not bad

next time contact EMC2 we would  like to sponsor CF campaigns like this

have you thought of supporting a bitcoin based crowdfunding platform rather than focusing on USD?  like bitstarter?

Indiegogo's infrastructure makes them the right choice to go to to start your crowd funding endeavors.  You learn many of the skills necessary to conduct an effective campaign anywhere.  Don't forget there's nothing stopping you from doing multiple campaigns at the same time, one after the other, or repeating (relaunching) campaigns.

Just about everyone things CF is simple and easy like winning a lottery, however it is extremely difficult and not assured even if you do everything right.   It's extremely hard work that will knock you out.

We at EMC2 plan on using CF as a major resource for funding our science research grant awards, we will use bitcoinstarter and all other effective CF platforms.  Currently we have our first project running on indiegogo, its doing pretty good.  We have tons of cryptocurrency community support, not just from our coin but from many other coins as well.

Our campaign received USD, EMC2, HYPER, and Doge, and also got pledges from 5 other coins -- we are in our 4 day of the campaign.

To me it's about engagement from connected communities.

1094  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Grats to Bitcoin on getting crowdfunding platform Lighthouse! on: January 04, 2015, 07:41:57 PM
if you ever have a crowd funding event call on EMC2 to support the endeavor, we are looking for CF campaigns to sponsor perks using our currency

1096  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Project bidding - jobs bidding - crowdfunding work web site for bitcoins! on: January 04, 2015, 07:24:11 PM
Hi am interest in making a Project bidding - jobs bidding - crowdfunding work web site for bitcoins! There will be categories so anyone can upload their cv or profile/skills and on the other hand anyone can upload a project-job like a coin wallet, a web page , a logo, an app etc and anyone can bid the job. Platform is almost ready and i need to implement bitcoin wallets ( create a bitcoin address for every new project so the money would be escrowed there until the project is finished) . Is there any open source code for that, should i store them online? Finally what do you think about the idea of a project bidding website for bitcoins? Any feedback is highly appreciated !

dude, that's a good idea, but do it for cryptocurrency not just BTC,

EMC2 willing to be one of your perk sponsors as well as a campaign sponsor contact me when you are ready
1097  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crowdfunding MegaX's Bitcoin Farm on: January 04, 2015, 06:19:53 PM
"We're sorry, but the campaign URL you entered cannot be found."

The Einsteinium Foundation is currently conducting a crowd funding campaign with relative success, we have asked for and received sponsors for most of our perks.  The experience allowed me to quickly appreciate the massive exposure that can come from the endeavor -- perk sponsorship is a great opportunity.

If you decide to relaunch your campaign I could offer you the following:

1) strategic campaign sponsorship by mentioning your project within our social media network which includes our BCT page, our fb page, twitter, Reddit, IRC, etc ...
2) we will publish your article (you write the story) in The Einsteinium News
and
3) sponsor at least one of your perk
1098  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-12-22] Bitcoin Crowdfunding is Catching on in China on: January 04, 2015, 06:12:46 PM
http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-crowdfunding-in-china-is-catching-on/

Bitcoin crowdfunding in China

What is most remarkable about this forum, however, is its fundraising process.

On 16th November, Wu posted a proposal to raise 85 BTC in a WeChat group called 'Aisi Shuzi Huobi' (爱思数字货币 or 'love thinking digital currency'). Anyone who sent a bitcoin to a designated address would own 1/100 of the site, which had already already been online for two weeks by that point. Wu personally owns 15 shares and is responsible for the website’s day-to-day maintenance.

Within hours, the fundraising target was reached.

This is just one example of the newly-emerging Chinese bitcoin crowdfunding scene. A quick scan on the Internet reveals about a dozen such projects over the past year – with most taking place in the mining sector.

"Since Wu guaranteed investors full refunds if they opt to exit, the only downside risk is the possibility he will renege on that promise – but this risk, given the relative small investment amounts (and the fact that Wu is a well-recognized bitcoin entrepreneur) is likely low."

smart move

Wish the endeavor well.

1099  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Advice needed for short film crowdfunding campaign on: January 04, 2015, 05:40:27 PM
Hi guys

I'm working with an award-winning film director towards securing funding for her next film, a 25-minute horror short to be made in Berlin.

We've decided to bypass traditional funding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo and see if we can raise the funds for the project entirely in Bitcoin instead. The content of the film has nothing to do with Bitcoin, but we feel that if the currency is ever to go mainstream, it should also be used for projects that aren't directly related to the currency.

Hopefully, through the crowdfunding campaign itself, we'll be able to help spread the word about Bitcoin. Next week, for example, we'll be premiering our pitch video at a popular club here in Berlin, and we've invited a number of local Bitcoin speakers to come along and give some introductory talks about how the currency works and answer any questions the guests might have. There'll also be live music from one of the film's composers and a reading from the novelist whose short story the film is based on. We're expecting quite a large turnout on top of the club's regulars.

There's a thriving Bitcoin community here in Berlin, so if we reach our goal, we plan to give back to the community by working wherever possible with suppliers who accept Bitcoin and by hiring freelance crew members who are happy to receive their payment in Bitcoin. Then, when the completed film is screened at film festivals worldwide, the very first thing audiences will see during the opening titles will be a "Funded with Bitcoin" credit. If the international filmmaking community sees that Bitcoin is a valid option for film financing, it could open the currency up to whole new userbase.

At this point, I'd like to pose a couple of questions for the community. Firstly, if you were to donate to a project like this, would you prefer to do so by donating anonymously through a QR code/Bitcoin address on the production company's website, which has been online since early 2011, or by way of a trusted third-party website like Bitpay, Swarm or Bitcoinstarter, where you'd be required to sign in? If we were to accept donations through the company website, we would probably use a widget like this one https://bitcoinchipin.com/widgets/u/chris/your-title-here so that visitors can see how the campaign is going.

Secondly, most crowdfunding campaigns offer perks to their donors, and we'd like to do the same. Of course, any donors wishing to claim these perks would have to give up their anonymity and prove their ownership of the Bitcoin address from which the donation was sent. In this scenario, would you prefer to send a signed message with name and contact details from your Bitcoin wallet or use one of the third party websites mentioned above, where you would have to sign in?

Thirdly, as a potential donor, what kind of assurances would you need about where the money is going?

Fourthly, would you prefer to see the crowdfunding goal expressed in Bitcoin or fiat? Setting the goal in Bitcoin would be a strong show of confidence in the currency, although it is likely to fluctuate somewhat over the course of the campaign, whereas a Euro amount would be less risky and perhaps less confusing to newcomers.

Thank you for reading. Any thoughts/advice on the above or other concerns would be much appreciated and I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.

We want to help your film by being one of the sponsors.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=913025.msg10024517#msg10024517

As for the questions you pose:

1)  my preference is to donate using EMC2 it would be great if the crowd funding platform accepted all coins even if it immediately converted to any other currency -- intergrate coin payment.net tool into the campaign
2)  there's no need for anyone (giver or receiver) to "give up their anonymity"
3)  none
4)  the driving point of the thread and post is to make this a btc things, well if that's the case then btc is it.   There would be no fluctuations because a btc is a btc, the only thing that would constantly changes is the cost of and / or conversion value of the currency, that would apply to all currencies the same way even fiat.   A euro is a euro even if it can buy more or less petro from day to day.

1100  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Crowd funding] Cryptocurrency Standards Association (CRYPSA) on: January 04, 2015, 04:23:27 PM
EMC2 will being doing a lot of campaigns mainly to benefit the winners of the science grants we issue, but also for other projects.  So we are learning a lot about how to create a successful campaign.  One of the most fundamental aspects of crowd funding is campaign promotion.  CRYPSA was featured in The Einsteinium News (story now there in archive), that means you should have us (EMC2 and The Einsteinium News) as an event promotion contact.  However, today is my first knowledge of your campaign.

Take a look at our first campaign http://igg.me/at/The-Havekes-Project/x/1532302  we started it on Dec 31 (new year's eve) 5 days ago.  We are aggressively promoting the effort, and in so doing also vigorously promoting our sponsors.   Here's your opportunity to put CRYPSA back in front of the EMC2 audience, as well as those who know us by our projects.

I want CRYPSA to actively support our campaign by telling your membership about our cause, by coming to our thread to announce your support, and by trying to create a way to sponsor a perk.
