Hey all,

How's it going? I've been busy, but I have found time to do a 3rd quarter write-up expanding my top 5 list to TOP 10.

NLG is on the list.

Anyone want to get the email directly? (It's going out to over 2000 email addresses for mostly individual accounts of high level professionals - division directors, senior managers, project managers, account executives, and the like - within the banking, investment banking, insurance sectors, finance in general, all over the world.)

PM me your email if you're interested.

cheers

Geez, I'm only about 25 pages behind.   Shocked

But I have found time to write up a 3rd quarter report. I didn't have time to do the DigiByte write-up that I originally wanted to do so I switched that for end-of-year and brought forward the expansion of the top 5 to the TOP 10.

Anyone interested in getting the email directly? PM me your email address if you do.

Wow, 25 pages I need to read . . . I am up-to-date with the DigiReports and important stuff though . . .

Cheers

Is there a reason why the website is so out-of-date?  ( http://digibyte.co/ )

We are working on updating this as well as adding a newsletter and video section.

That is good to know. It was starting to look a bit abandoned.  Sad

Those new sections will certainly work in the other direction with the extra life and vitality they'll add. Looking forward to it!

Looks like the seller at 25 may have run out of DGB.

#DigiKnow Ep#1: What is a #DigiByte or #Bitcoin block? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scr6BzFddso

You're knocking 'em out of the park! These things are the next best thing since sliced bread. I can't believe how good these segments are and I'm beginning to wonder how we survived without them in the past. Jared, I think you've hit on something that is going to be known as the game changer for DigiByte (in spite of the fact that I've said that before about so many other DigiByte innovations and that there will probably be something even better sometime in the future!)!

Just a couple of suggestions with regards to the DigiReports themselves: they seem a little claustrophobic and the audio sounds weird. Perhaps pushing the back part of the set back a couple of feet and a better mic might help. Two superficial shortcomings that can't take away from the great information of substance being communicated in each one, but that if improved would certainly round out the presentation in most convincing fashion.

Great work being done. It's honestly one of the most exciting things I've ever witnessed. Keep it up. You're doing great!

Our Tofugear and House of blue jeans teams are very pleased to bring you: The Future of Retail. Check it out!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzjMRP4DSBo

Get the word out!
https://twitter.com/tofugear/status/635845670922944512

That is extremely hot. You're riding a wave that's going to get much bigger and it looks like you're very well prepared to handle it. The video's production values are seriously professional and those who were involved in making it deserve special mention as well. I think you're right: the future of retail is here, today, with the DigiByte-Tofugear tandem in real-time, in your store!

His last stake was at around 160DMD, then he depleted 16k.
Maybe he is in need of money.

I think that was probably the most likely cause. As Mister1k mentioned, there were margin calls and lots of forced liquidations earlier this week that had a lot of people scrambling for cash. This looks to fit that mold. It also correlates with what we generally saw in BTC as well.

. . . and what makes matters worse for the poor soul was that everything was sold at a loss since the average purchase price was well above the average sell.
1089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★DigiByte|极特币★★[DGB]✔ $250k Investment, EasyMiner, iOS Wallet, MultiSig, TipBot on: August 26, 2015, 07:55:58 PM
Can someone please tell how to compile Digibyte core from source?
Source is here, right? https://github.com/digibyte/digibyte
Should I choose Download ZIP?
Now I somewhat know how to use commnad line in Linuux - is that enough?

Will send DGB tip for help  Grin

The commands to do it are on that github page you listed.
Do these in order, if one of them doesn't work, then you are probably missing a library or application of some kind:
sudo apt-get install build-essential
sudo apt-get install libtool autotools-dev autoconf
sudo apt-get install libssl-dev
sudo apt-get install libboost-all-dev
git clone git://github.com/digibyte/digibyte.git
cd digibyte
./autogen.sh
./configure
make
cd src
sudo cp digibyted /usr/bin

Once you successfully do all this, there will be an executable in your digibyte directory, you would run that to run the wallet

I did all the steps but I am not sure which is that executable file? What is name of it?

Please have a look at Asistec TI forum created by HR.

P.s @ HR, Still alive and kicking?  Wink

Still alive and kicking.  Cheesy

I've just been away on vacation and I'm now gearing up for a very busy autumn - I won't have much free time at all until Christmas. That doesn't mean I'll be completely absent though, since Asistec TI and BitCoinTalk have "allocated" time within the "work schedule" (even if it is rather limited for the time being). One thing I'll be doing for sure in this regard will be a 3rd quarter emailing to my finance/investment banking mailing list with the focus being almost exclusively on DigiByte - a once in a lifetime opportunity type of write up with all the many supporting arguments for why DigiByte is just that. Then I'll expand my Top 5 to Top 10 for an end-of-year mailing. Oh, and hopefully I'll get the forum HowTo's edited and posted on the FAQ. Unfortunately, I won't have much more time for much else other than that, and staying in touch, of course. Like last spring, I'll be reading along, and thanks to everyone else participating here, I'll likely be able to stay abreast.

By the way, it's great to see the HowTo's getting used independent of me and that the time and effort invested is being rewarded!  Smiley

Now I've just got to watch the latest DigiReport.  Embarrassed

I think that DigiReports are really important so that community and also possible investors know that development for the DigiByte is ongoing.

I agree 100%. It's one of the better ideas we've seen in a while. Fantastic way to inform and engage at the same time! And as for having found a(nother) way to stand out from the rest, we can't even begin to appreciate what the DigiReports mean for us. Since PR is about 100% of "the game", I think that one day we might even look back and say that they were key.
1092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] Guldencoin.com — D E L T A on: August 15, 2015, 09:56:55 PM
I would like to make a suggestion:

Change the OP title from:

[NLG] Guldencoin.com — D E L T A

to

[ANN][NLG] Guldencoin | Netherlands | Nocks.nl | Bittrex - Bleutrade - LiteBit

I dont know what DELTA means, but if it's important:

[ANN][NLG] Guldencoin | Netherlands | Nocks.nl | Bittrex - Bleutrade - LiteBit | D E L T A

imo you can leave Netherland out because the coin get an international character more and more.

maybe something like:

[ANN][NLG] Guldencoin | D E L T A | Nocks.nl | Bittrex - Bleutrade - LiteBit

I agree, I think Guldencoin should be more than just a national currency in the Netherlands and have international applications as well

Eventually Guldencoin will be more than a national currency however at this time our main focus is the Netherlands and should always be the Netherlands.
Our country needs a strong established cryptocoin as a counterparty that is not influenced by foreign marketsand can compete against the Euro if it ever may go wrong.

The Netherlands is the country for innovation, fintech and adaption.
Just take a look at Digibyte and The House of Bluejeans, Tofugear from HongKong came here to implement their product in the Netherlands.
Just take a look at Guldencoin and the massadaption of stores in a very short time.

We need to build up our stronghold here in the Netherlands and from there it will go like an oil spill to Belgium, Germany, Luxemburg and the rest of Europe.
It should come as no suprise when in 10 years foreign tourists will rather pay with Guldencoin rather than with the Euro or Bitcoin.

Great points.

I understand the people who want to see NLG used internationally, because right now is one of the best altcoins and probably the best countrycoin.

But you need to understand that are other countrycoins and altcoins.

The Netherlands is the country for innovation, fintech and adaption. But the technology arrives everywhere.

If you ask someone in Spain if he prefers to use GuldenCoin or PesetaCoin, he will probably choose Pesetacoin. Not because of the technology. Just because of the name.

Same will happen with Germany (DEM), United Kingdom (SLG), Ireland (IRL), Iceland (AUR), etc etc.

You're about 6 months/1year ahead of them. But it doesnt mean you gonna be sucefull in those countries.

You gonna be sucefull in Netherlands and you should focus on that.

Of course, that includes make easier for your Dutch users to expend their NLG worldwide

Succesfull in the Netherlands, yes, and we focus on that.

6 months/1year ahead of (other) country coins? Not really, because most of them were already there when Guldencoin started at 4th april of 2014  Wink You got the message?

Anyway, welcome to this forum @Rw13enlib88  Hope to see you more often here to discuss stuff like this  Cool

The Swiss Franc is a national currency with international acceptance.  Wink

Some interesting stuff on Ethereum (these are two great posts, but the entire thread is worth the read). Looks kind of like buying Ethereum is like throwing your money away.

Excellent work 24!

What are your main talking points and in what order do you rank them?

if the mine is not good for this coin? this coin to pos?

Every coin that has changed to PoS after not being part of initial implementation has failed. Noble is example!
http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/noblecoin/#markets

That data is bad. https://www.cryptsy.com/markets/view/NOBL_BTC (not saying NLG should be PoS - only correcting that information)

HR,
Do you know any folks in the industry that have helped promote other alts that may be available to help us with DGB? Looking to think outside the box a bit.

YC

Was reading around and came across this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=580725.msg11995226#msg11995226

I don't know what they did the first time and I don't know what they have planned now, but I do know that they ACTIVELY promote DMD and price has responded favorably. They're obviously doing something right and perhaps it would be worth it to further research their efforts.

As I said, they're getting results, so there's got to be something there that we can learn from them.

I m so glad to see the community s growing. More and more new names appear hear on the forum.

Let us finance this new PR initiative so we can grow even more, joint efforts always create great results.

Thx everyone who have contributed so far.

Yeah, I agree. DMD is on the short list for my eventual top 10 list that will be published this year (probably 4th quarter). I've got to hand it to these guys, especially cryptonit and popshot, for being so persistent and hanging in there like they have continuing to improve and steadily build upon what's looking to be a pretty rock solid venture. Good going you guys for proving me wrong, and best wishes for continued success!

Tell the wallet owner to create another new wallet.dat (never been used), encrypt it with the exact same passphrase used before, and then import those addresses.

Thanks for the suggestion,I'm asking because I don't know, how does he import those addresses?

I'm trying to remember what I did. My case was a little different as I was recovering from over writting an encrypted wallet with an old, unencrypted, backup, and I might be confusing things. Perhaps it was encrypting a new install with the exact same passphrase, exporting the private key, and then importing that private key into the outdated backup that saved my coins.

The above funds are available to steal from DigiByte Blockchain and will be considered legitimately obtained if the perpetrator of such an act explains to the community and developers of DigiByte how it was achieved. It’s as simple as that, explain how you did it and they are yours, uncontested.
If nobody can steal them, then there they stay for eternity!
Please don’t attempt to hack my computers, it is illegal and pointless. The wallet that controls them is not and was not ever on my network!

http://digiexplorer.info/

This isn't really a fair contest unless you have intentionally generated these addresses in a way that can be brute-forced (something like the WarpWallet challenges).  Since the addresses have no outgoing transactions, the only available attack vector is to brute force secp256k1+sha256+ripemd160.  But without knowing how the addresses were generated (for example, they could just be random 160-byte addresses, in which case they are for all practical considerations unspendable) I'm not going to waste my time.
You are a wise man, i believe they are unspendable. I was just having a bit of fun. The owner of the wallet somehow, he doesn't know how he did it, overwrote the .dat file. He was messing around manipulating the wallet from outside being clever. Made his face quite red for a bit and that doesn't look good on an IT lecturer.
BACK UP! BACK UP! BACK UP!, He broke his own golden rule!

Tell the wallet owner to create another new wallet.dat (never been used), encrypt it with the exact same passphrase used before, and then import those addresses.

@ycagel, Sorry, I don't have much of a clue about anything beyond what we all know. I'll be doing a 3rd quarter mailing at the end of Sept. first of Oct., and I'm going to focus exclusively on DigiByte in that report, so that will be something. Since we're actively targeting gamers, perhaps we might want to look at ideas on how we can reach them on a cost effective basis . . .
