http://www.bitcoinstarter.com has a lot of crowd funding campaigns

http://www.bitpools.com has many crowd funding projects

Thanks, I'm familiar with bitoinstarter we are scheduled to some campaigns with them soon, I'm also active at their thread.
But I didn't know about bitpools.com, I will look into that.

I don't want to spam anyone's site soif the site admins don't mine I'll gladly appeal directly to the campaigns that I feel may
be a good fit for us.  Otherwise I've got to make the offer loud and clear then wait for them to learn of us and respond.

Well I am the admin for BitPools so drop me a PM if you'd like. Smiley

Elwar, I reviewed your site, and looks at specific campaigns but didn't see any 'perk' where the driving point of this thread would be relevant.

Do you have a donor/donation reward system?  If so, how could it be used to promote sponsorship.

How Other Cryptocurrencies Can Be Involved With EMC2's Crowd Funding Campaigns

Currently there are 3 ways for our colleague coins to support our campaign and get great exposure for their coin.

1)  make a donation of any size, that will get the currency listed on our currency donation list ranked according to USD worth.

2)  make a donation of at least $50 worth of target currency to be a campaign sponsor, that will get the currency listed on our currency donation list, and currency logo included as a campaign sponsor.

and most attractive way to provide sponsorship

3) is to be a perk sponsor ($100+ equal level) this enables the sponsor to have the currency added to the list, have an entity logo added, and have up to 50 words added to a specific perk.

In addition to the above, we will endeavor to share our joy of the donation and or sponsorship with our membership via multiple social networking mediums including facebook, twitter, reddit, IRC, etc ... We will also visit the thread of the native currency to show our appreciation directly to that community.

To get started we ask that a pledge of support be posted to this thread indicating the amount of native coins offered, a board member will respond with the native address for the donation if not already listed.

Upon receipt of donation the relevant parts of what was mentioned above will begin.

Please be reminded that we intend on having Indiegogo strongly consider adding cryptocurrency as an additional currency option, the more coins involved in the conversation the closer we get to that reality.

Let's get started ...

I'm willing to donate some more HYPER if it can be of use just let me know!

Sure that would be great, would that be the amount mentioned in PM?  Please issue it to: HE1EdHGs2WcAk8doDeqMMkjFyL4eiCvVy6

thanks

Sent! Also I think I still need to reply to one of your PM's will get onto it ASAP Wink

I'm told the current donation amount received is 500 HYPER, thanks.

I will update the campaign and perk listing shortly.

When searching for "science" in the indiegogo search the Einsteinium foundation Crowd Funding Campaign: "Science Study: Memory Loss Due To Sleep Deprivation" is now in 11th position   This is good for only 6 days into the campaign however we could be at #1.  if only 20 people in the community simply put the word 'science' in the search box then scroll down until you see "Science Study: Memory Loss Due To Sleep Deprivation" then click on it, will should get to #1.  The longer we are at 1st - 6th place (the area that is instantly visible on every search for 'science') the better chance the campaign has at greater success.

This is the result I get when I search for "science" in the 'health' sub-catagory:

The Einsteinium Foundation is currently conducting a crowd funding campaign with relative success, we have asked for and received sponsors for most of our perks.  The experience allowed me to quickly appreciate the massive exposure that can come from the endeavor -- perk sponsorship is a great opportunity.

If you have an active campaign, or considering the start of a crowd funding campaign please contact us so that we can help you to make your campaign a success.

1110  Economy / Speculation / Re: Warren Buffet advise not to buy bitcoin. Expect bitcoin price to collapse. on: January 03, 2015, 08:27:33 AM

I may not know the price of tea in China but I do know that's not the subject of discussion here.

As for intrinsic value, Buffet said:

Quote
“Stay away from it. It’s a mirage, basically. … It’s a method of transmitting money. It’s a very effective way of transmitting money and you can do it anonymously and all that. A check is a way of transmitting money, too. Are checks worth a whole lot of money just because they can transmit money? Are money orders? You can transmit money by money orders. People do it. I hope Bitcoin becomes a better way of doing it, but you can replicate it a bunch of different ways and it will be. The idea that it has some huge intrinsic value is just a joke in my view.”

There's no intrinsic value in fiat, yet you don't see him bashing USD.   If he doesn't buy currency then he should say that, but as for comparing btc to checks and the lot, that goes back to my previous comparative analysis to show you that the value is in the ability to move money quickly, easily, and safely.    BTC's system allows for money to move quickly and easily, individual transactions are safe however the system (or culture) is not safe -- yet.

It doesn't matter how you define 'intrinsic value' btc is a currency that includes a method of moving money quickly, easily, and at extremely low costs.  There is no fiat that does that.  All fiats need other systems to provide for the movement of their currency.  Fiat's electronic money is moved in various ways, via wire or ACH, there's no intrinsic value in the electronic wire, however the business of electronic wire transfers is worth trillions; likewise the intrinsic value of connecting fiat to plastic credit/debit cards is also a big money maker, if the value is not in the electronic nature of the currency why would anyone spend more for one electronic service over another -- speed and ease of use that's why.  As such even if you discount BTC's currency as worthless, it's ability to move money quickly and easily makes it worth billions by any reasonable standard.

If you asked him if investing in USD (i.e. stuffing a matress with cash) is a good investment he'd probably tell you you're an idiot.

Who cares if you can send bitcoins all over in digital space?  What does it have to do with the price?  You can do this whether it's $1 or $1000 per Bitcoin.  If you think there's a potential big business in transmitting Bitcoin money then invest in Coinbase or something similar.

Money or currency is just the intermediary for exchange economy.  The  'intrinsic' value is in the product or service being exchanged.  The business that creates products or services has intrinsic value.  That's his point.  The investment thesis of Bitcoin is false, "it's a mirage"

Buffett is a fundamental investor.  Fundamental investing is buying something at discount compared to future cash flows.  What's the future cash flow of Bitcoin?  None because it's price is speculative commodity.  Like beanie babies or gold.  If you think it's a currency then that's double stupid.  Nobody invests in currencies.  They trade currency pairs

You don't invest in currency by "stuffing a mattress with cash" that's called 'saving'.   Currency trading is a totally different animal, you should know if you are in crypto, given all of the cryptocurrency trading exchanges available.   Long before crypto exchanges there were currency exchanges for fiat (still exist).

Anyway, as for your "who cares ..." statement, the answer is everyone.   And as for "what does it have to do with the price"  the answer is everything.   Checks take days to clear, ACHs generally go faster, and wires faster still, speed of flow is the largest determinate for the price/fee charged -- ask western union.

The "cash flow" question is just stupid.   And if you don't think BTC is a currency then you don't know the definition of the word currency.   A currency is a means of exchange between buyer and sellers for goods or services.  Currency is a commodity when it is the good that is being purchased or sold and not the means for the transfer.  As such most of the transactions done on most non-btc exclusive exchanges (ie: Cryptsy) are using BTC as the mainstay currency to buy and sell other currencies as commodities.

When a currency is used as a currency to buy something ELSE such as a book that currency is unquestionably a currency.  Gold has very many different uses mainly in manufacturing (ie: jewery), but also as a commodity, and as currency but rarely as currency.   Gold cannot be transferred electronically.

"Nobody invests in currencies.  They trade currency pairs"   Shocked   Huh!, now you're just being a stupid idiot ... in case you are not stupid and just an ignorant idiot here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_exchange_market

Why would one think that Warren Buffet would actually save them heart ache in investments?

If Warren sees a opportunity to make money, do you really think he will tell you to buy in to something? Moreso it seems to me that he would tell you not to buy it so he could at some point.

Since when is his agenda for the greater good of the rest of the population?....exactly....never.

sounds like you didn't read the article

The arrogence of broke kids thinking they know more about investing than a multi billionaire.  LOL

Buffetts point is that there's no intrinsic value  in the aartificial scarcity because the code can be created ad infinitum.  Anyone can create a currency.  The hard part is to get others to accept it as money

that applies to every currency

for the most part fiat currency comes in two forms paper or metal, yet far more money is moved electronically than via paper or metal currency so clearly electronic currency is the big winner here.

Many around the world pay big money to order international wires for the ability to move large sums of money from point 'a' to point 'b', where is the "scarcity" or "intrinsic value" in a wire transfer?

Cryptocurrency solves a real problem in the world of electronic money and electronic money transfers, once the system is safe it will produce many trillionaires and quadrillionaires --  well beyond Buffet bucks.

You miss his point entirely.  So what if you can use bitcoin to transmit money digitally?  That in itself doesn't make it valuable.

Clearly you are missing the same point Buffet was also missing, value is found everywhere.

What is the "intrinsic value" of a paper dollar, what is the "intrinsic value" of a check, what is the intrinsic value of a credit card?  The value of a currency is derived by the faith in that currency to do as you expect it to do.  That's it, there is otherwise no intrinsic value in it.

Given that there are tons of counterfeit money, tons of stolen credit cards, tons of wire fraud, and trillions in various kinds of fiat money scams each year the simple fact is electronic money transfers are better than cash transactions, and crypto currency transfers faster and less expensive than fiat based electronic transfers.

SWIFT's whole business model is based on electronic transfer of fiat based funds, there no reason that whole system could not be based on a crypto funds based system.

Swift, mastercard and visa make money based on the ease of moving money not of the "intrinsic value" of an electronic transaction.

Like I said, once the TRUST AND SAFETY is properly set in the system, it will be the norm and quads will form.

Obviously you don't know squat about fundamental analysis.  Buffetts point is that you cant derive bitcoins price from anything other than speculation.

I don't understand what you trying to say with regards to intrinsic value.  Doesn't apply to ehat hes saying

I may not know the price of tea in China but I do know that's not the subject of discussion here.

1113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | funding science education, research, & development on: January 02, 2015, 06:02:48 PM
There are many ways to meaningfully support crowd funding campaigns, earlier I spoke about searching for the campaign using keywords in indiegogo's search box as well as using those same keywords in major search engine's search boxes.   More recently I spoke about using social media to support the campaign. beit a thumb's up from facebook, a tweet or retweet on twitter, or any other voting methods and all of the sharing methods available at the social media platforms -- they all help the campaign.   Today lets examine a third way to support the campaign -- through groups, websites, videos comments, and discussion boards.

Our basic keywords are: Robbert Havekes, PhD,  research scientist, science, University of Pennsylvania, memory loss,  Sleep Deprivation, indiegogo, EMC2, the einsteinium foundation, crowdfunding, crowd funding

You should use as many of those keywords as possible, and where possible also provide links to other places that you believe have strong connections to the campaign if not to the campaign itself.  Examples of strong connections would be any one of the very many articles published on the study, this thread, or the crowd funding page at The Einsteinium News (https://sites.google.com/site/einsteiniumbiz/crowdfunding-campaigns).

Our objective is to connect our keywords with relevant web sites, groups, videos, and discussion boards.    Relevant subjects could be: science, science research, cryptocurrency, crowd funding, education, health, sleep disorders, sleep deprivation, memory problems, memory loss, brain research, etc ...

You can start by searching for "crowd funding sleep deprivation".   First look for our campaign and click on it so that the search connection is made.  Then do the same search and look for a listing that you feel closely resembles, mirrors, or is about what our campaign is about.   If that website, group, forum, or video has an area to make a comment please include some of our keywords in your statement.  Let me know if you want to use an official EMC2 email address to market the campaign.

If you see another statement that supports our campaign please 'like it' (thumbs up) too.

Every big or little effort counts.

With concerted effort we could get the Havekes crowdfunding campaign on the home page of indiegogo; that would be a massive achievement for the campaign.

some current campaign stats:

224  unique page visits
45  referrals (people who used links to arrive at page)
    7  facebook votes/shares
    9  twitter votes/shares
    4  google votes/shares
5  comments (you don't have to donate to comments -- please share some encouraging words)
9  donations (2 people multiple times)

Goal to raise a minimum of $100 within the first hour of the campaign -- achieved
Goal to raise a minimum of $300 withing the first 24 hours of the campaign -- achieved
Goal to raise the campaign base goal within 10 days, 49% there at 2 days in
Goal to have a minimum of 6 campaign sponsors -- achieved and growing
Goal to have a minimum of 25 'Funders' is 27% reached at only 6% into the campaign

Overall, statistically the campaign is performing as expected which is better than site average, particularity for starting on New Year's eve, and category and sub-category (health and science respectively).  Based on all of those factors the campaign is doing great.

It is important that everyone know that crowd funding is a vital part of my vision for the redevelopment and growth of EMC2.  I see it as a major resource to help the campaign beneficiary as well as the coin and the individual crowdfunding platform -- a win-win-win situation if executed properly.

Earlier I mentioned how strategic searching, in indiegogo search and outside of indiegogo search (via google, bing, and yahoo) can support the campaign.   Moments ago I searched for The Havekes Project in bing then clicked on some links that I thought were associated with the campaign here are two of the links I clicked on:

http://forums.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?190939-Indiegogo-Science-Project-Fundraiser-request-for-philanthropy-by-Einsteinium-Fund-n&p=2118708&viewfull=1
http://thecrowdfundingcentre.com/?page=project&id=1AUCFN&_escaped_fragment_=1AUCFN

Just by virtue of the fact that I posted the links in this forum that action (if bct allows the links) creates 'back-links' or connections between this site and those sites.

Please use the following keywords to search google, bing, and yahoo: 'The Havekes Project Sleep Science Research Study: Memory Loss Due To Sleep Deprivation crowd funding'  then click on all that are associated with indiegogo, bitcoin talk, and other social networking listings.   This helps the campaign in multiple ways but in short it connects traffic associated with science research on sleep deprivation and memory loss to the crowd funding campaign.

There are many ways to support The Havekes Project.  In addition to making connections via search engines we also want to make connections using social media.   Indiegogo uses an algorithm called the ¨GoGo Factor¨ to rank campaigns, it takes many factors into consideration including: contributions amount, number of times campaign was shared, total views, campaign activity, etc ...   The more engagement they see the more attention they will give us, most specifically getting on their home page.

Here are 10 ways to boost our campaign's gogo factor ranking using social media:

Facebook shares from unique accounts
Re-Tweets from unique accounts
Campaign Visits from real people
Google+ Shares from unique accounts
LinkedIn Shares
Del.icio.us Share
FriendFeed Share
StumbleUpon Share

Let's get campaign stats up across the board.   Let's make a meaningful impact with this campaign, with indiegogo, the CC industry, and the science community too.
