If anyone wants to target the term "Bitcoin Forums" you will be the "Official" Bitcoin forums by the way.

It could be done in less than a month with some quick SEO work.  You could black hat and do this super quick, have Xrumer running or some shit and hit up those terms, "Bitcoin Forums"

I am already sure someone is on it though.

Really says something about Bitcoin though when the official site is embarrassed of some of it's most active users most common discussion place.   Such a scared move that will continue to be a bad reflection on Bitcoin overall Sad

And Batman approves of this message.

Might as well have some positivity come from this thread so it isn't a total waste.
1106  Other / Off-topic / Re: Made in China . . . on: August 06, 2011, 11:03:20 AM
Yes.  Bitcoin Discussion.  Makes complete sense.  Good use of the forums.
1107  Other / Meta / Re: Insulting another member = BAN ? Good rule, no? on: August 06, 2011, 11:02:42 AM
It should also depend on the context. A remark, which might be intended as a joke, can be quite offensive to a person yet another might see nothing wrong with it. Especially when people hardly know who the other person is, it's quite possible to come across as insulting or offensive due to cultural/social/religious context without really meaning to.
I can't wait for those specific situations to show themselves and watch and people try and insult people in the most round about way possible.  But hell, that is fine, that will be clever and creative and fun for all.  The "idiot" remarks tend to come from a level of person who can only think of a great insult such as 'idiot!'

I will say though, cultural, social, and religious context type humor that is directed at no specific person, but rather groups..   wouldn't that already be something not showing up here.  Isn't that some kind of hate speech depending on the group?

Thinking of this thread in that way, would it be okay for someone to have some kind of Anti-Jew movement for Bitcoin on the forums protected by their free speech?  Whatever it is people tend to think "free speech" is on a private forum anyways lol.

If hate speech does or does not work for groups, why or why not the same for individuals protection?   Insulting directly is the ultimate hate speech.

Also it is retarded and is holding back any progressive discussion.  I would love to hear someone argue this statement.
1108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Signatures: Did you have received donations? on: August 06, 2011, 10:51:05 AM
People have donated to Porn Smiley   (Thanks!)   My podcast  (Thanks again!) and of course my favorite campaign

One person donated.  And it turns out it was semi on accident.     These were all from my signature on the forum.

I think it would be neat if everyone's user name was just an e-wallet address.
1109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTCLottery Shut down - now the guy has all our emails on: August 06, 2011, 10:47:03 AM
TheBitMan, his current name.  Is a pretty long standing member.  I fully question a lot of his sites intentions, but he is has always been improving and helps the community in various ways.   That doesn't mean shit as far as full trust and etc.  And in fact that makes it that much better of a scam.   Still, I got an error message leading me to think that you should just give this a little time, I think the site is down.

Scam!

1111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / [AUDIO] BBC Click - Can a virtual currency do away with banks? (Rick Falkvinge) on: August 06, 2011, 03:15:46 AM

Quote
Bitcoin is an electronic currency that can be traded directly on the internet, members don't even need to have a bank account.

Its value is fluctuating significantly, but creators claim it will do to the banking system what emails did to the postal service.

But the virtual currency has made headlines after a security breach in June allowed one hacker to transfer the equivalent of $500,000 (£300,000) to his own account.

However, these recent events have not deterred members of the Bitcoin community.

Cyber-activist, entrepreneur and founder of the Swedish Pirate Party Rick Falkvinge - who has put all his savings into the currency - explains why.

1112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mybitcoin.com Press Release #2 on: August 06, 2011, 03:09:37 AM
If the guy's story is true, I would vote that Bruce be a trusted third party (in spite of a gigantic potential for conflict of interest.)  Maybe I am particularly gullible, but I would bet several BTC that Bruce would err on the side of caution and even against his own personal interests to see that things were wrapped up as fairly as possible.

...but then I had no account at mybitcoin.com.

Bruce is affected as well

lol, uppity?

Is that possible from any of the text I posted here?

Examples please.  I only wish the guy well, but also people should be aware of what is going on, no?
1115  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie restrictions? Kill some time here! realitykings.com[NSFW!] on: August 05, 2011, 01:36:20 PM
People are making money from services rendered?  Those DICKS!  Hang on while I go write an essay about how angry I am.

Well offering illegal services was once something not allowed on these forums is all Wink
1116  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie restrictions? Kill some time here! realitykings.com[NSFW!] on: August 05, 2011, 01:22:53 PM
I am having no part of this.  I don't think this is a scam, put that on purpose and crossed out on purpose too, just lulz on that.

But honestly, somewhere something is getting fuzzed up between who is getting whos information, how anonymous things are, how detailed the followup billing information works with RK.   Also, how Reality Kings will feel with minors having an account on their site and who will be held responsible.

Either way, the sign up bonus for the members that stay with you, dude, you'll profit like a mother fucker, no need to hide it, you are offering this service and taking responsibility for it, enjoy.
1117  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie restrictions? Kill some time here! realitykings.com[NSFW!] on: August 05, 2011, 11:35:18 AM
Wow, if this works, fucking smart dude.  I am affiliates with enough people, never even thought of this scam service, smooth.

God damn if this works though, you will be pulling in quite a nice load.

Bonus information, I haven't kept up with RK shit in forever.

Would be interesting to find out just how much was stolen, and then how.

Will be interesting.

That information should be coming out soon at this point.  I need spare old world cash to invest back in Bitcoin right now :/  I believe the coin can take this shit and keep going.
1119  Other / Meta / Re: Insulting another member = BAN ? Good rule, no? on: August 05, 2011, 10:53:21 AM
I think it should highly depend on the severity of the insult.

Please explain.  I would like to know what constitutes as an insult that is ever "okay"

When are you making a point, discussing Bitcoin, is it possible that an insult needs to come into play.  Hell, I think you can have a very strong opinion on another person that is very negative, and say that without directly or intentionally insulting.
1120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty for "Tom Williams"'s capture on: August 05, 2011, 12:49:02 AM
This is one of those things that could make or break Bitcoin as a whole, Bruce getting the bounty money and taking off.  Even I'd lose faith lol.
