1101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] Biden budget proposes 30% tax on crypto mining electricity usage on: March 12, 2023, 06:48:54 AM
It's funny that there are conspiracy theorists, who still think that Bitcoin was created by the CIA.
If Bitcoin was really created by the CIA, then why would the US government try to punish all BTC miners?
The anti-Bitcoin forces will always find a way to attack Bitcoin. First it was "BTC mining pollutes the environment.", many BTC miners started using green energy, now it's just "We don't like BTC mining, we are going to tax it." We just can't make the anti-Bitcoiners happy. Grin
Anyway, the hashrate will be adjusted and many miners will have to move somewhere else. There will be price turbulence, but we are still in a crypto winter, so who cares... Grin
1102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you Bet on a Fight that is Scripted? on: March 10, 2023, 11:20:46 AM
What the hell was WWE? Do you mean the American Wrestling Federation?
American wrestling is entertainment, not actual sport. Betting on scripted fights is like betting on the outcome of some Hollywood movie. Grin
Total nonsense, if you ask me. It seems like the people, who are running the American Wrestling Federation want to squeeze more money out of the rednecks, who are watching this "wrestling" BS. I used to be a fan of WWE 20 years ago, when I was a dumb kid/teenager. Now I can't watch WWE fights without feeling the cringe. Grin  Only kid/teenagers/redneck enjoy this kind of circus. I would never bet any money on scripted fights. This is ridiculous.
1103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Paul Krugman Effect on: March 10, 2023, 06:56:43 AM
Let's distinguish macroeconomics from finance here. AFAIK, Krugman is one of the most popular macroeconomists around the world.
Bitcoin/crypto doesn't have any impact on macroeconomy, it has impact over the financial world-transactions, investing, portfolios, wealth storage, etc... Almost all macroeconomists around the world hate Bitcoin/altcoins. There must be a reason for that. Bitcoin/crypto cannot be used as a tool for imposing monetary policies. Bitcoin is designed to have no central authority that makes decisions about the future of the BTC blockchain. Macroeconomists love centralization and control, because having centralization is the only way to impose a certain macroeconomic policy upon the society.
1104  Economy / Economics / Re: Ripple CEO Says Crypto Industry Has to Rebuild Trust on: March 09, 2023, 11:18:26 AM

Prior to the 2008 economic crisis and the US real estate market crash. It was unthinkable that such a financial crisis could occur on american soil. Everyone was taken by surprise and few were prepared.

It's funny how most economic and financial disasters are done by the governments and the central banks, but after a financial/economic disaster strikes, all the government officials and central bankers start shouting "more regulations, more government control!"
The 2008 crisis was created by the financial deregulation and the "easy money" monetary policies of the Federal Reserve.
Anyway, back to the subject. Ripple isn't a cryptocurrency. Ripple is a company. It has a CEO. This is hilarious. His opinions about crypto are no different than the opinion of a fiat banker.
The crypto industry needs better regulations, not more regulations. The scam shitcoins and scam crypto companies have to be wiped out of the crypto world. Unfortunately, we can't do this by ourselves. The governments have to step up, but I'm not optimistic about the crypto world having better regulations anytime soon.
1105  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Rollbit Withdrawal Frozen For $12,800 & No Response on: March 09, 2023, 07:27:33 AM
One rules in some casino.

Most of the casino have "wagering requirement" before you're can withdraw the money, like 1X from the money you're deposit. I read the story you're deposit 12,800$ and only wagering 1000 USD?

Your fund getting flagged with "money laundering" system, that's why the withdraw is not automatically process and need their manual process. Contact them, 4 years in gamble is always the one who got problem is from "sportbet" user due they are activity like this.

Rollbit customer support asked the guy to do KYC and a video call. I guess that they didn't mention anything about a "wagering requirement", which is weird. Perhaps OP could just wager the 11K USD, just in case the customer support asks him to do so.
I wouldn't bet on the casino's reputation as some kind of guarantee that the user won't get scammed. Basically almost any online casino could find hundreds of legal "excuses" to scam a user(like breaking the Terms of Service).
Depositing 12K USD seems like an extremely risky move. Let's wait and see how the customer support of Rollbit will handle this situation.
1106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think there will ever be a technology that can replace Bitcoin? on: March 09, 2023, 06:40:11 AM

But, given that the digital age is just beginning, and presumably will last for the rest of humanity, do you think there could ever be a technology, whether in 50 years or 200 years or 5000 years or whatever, that could be better and more powerful money than Bitcoin and potentially replace Bitcoin?

What do you all think? Is Bitcoin the final money solution for humanity or do you think there is some possibility in the near or far distance future that there will be another 'bitcoin-like' moment in history where someone will revolutionize money all over again and create something so much better than Bitcoin that it overcomes Bitcoin's network effects?

Bitcoin is far from perfect. BTC mining is energy hungry(which isn't a problem in itself, but the environmentalists will keep hating Grin), the BTC blockchain can't handle millions of transactions per second like the centralized systems. There is still room for improvement of Bitcoin and I think that the BTC developers will do a great job in the future.
There's always a chance for some new altcoin to become more popular than BTC(because of mass adoption), but more popular doesn't mean better.
Nobody can predict what will happen after 200 or 5000 years. Perhaps the concept of money will become obsolete after 200 years and the human civilization won't be needing any money(fiat or crypto).

1107  Economy / Gambling / Re: What if bitcointalk creates a casino review and ratings board for members. on: March 08, 2023, 11:15:35 AM
I guess that someone might have mentioned this before, but what if the casinos start buying fake positive reviews and five-star ratings?
I don't mind the forum implementing such forum thread with a review/rating system, but how can each and every review be verified as genuine and not created because of financial stimulation?
OP is talking about casinos being "registered" on the forum. There's no such thing as a casino being "registered" here. Every online casino owner is free to post an announcement thread in the Gambling forum. I don't think that there are any requirements about "registering" any gambling business on Bitcointalk.
1108  Economy / Economics / Re: Twitter becoming Worlds biggest Financial Institution? on: March 08, 2023, 07:33:05 AM
Musk is diving into the world of dreams and wishful thinking. Grin He was dreaming about creating a cheap Tesla car(which won't happen).
Now, he wants to turn Twitter into a "financial institution"? How the hell does he plan to do this? Turning a Twitter into an online marketplace like eBay and Amazon? Letting the users send and receive payments between each other? What would be the incentive for them to use Twitter payments, instead of Paypal, Venmo, Zelle, Revolut or any other online payment provider(or cryptocurrencies)?
There's nothing wrong with being a dreamer, but you look ridiculous, when there's no possible way to achieve your dreams.
1109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My arguement with a friend who likes POS instead of POW. on: March 08, 2023, 06:55:30 AM
The best thing about the crypto world is the freedom of choice.
If your friend wants to use ETH or any other PoS altcoin, he is free to do so. Nobody is forcing him to use Bitcoin, if he doesn't like it.
PoW and PoS have their pros and cons, I also think that PoW is better, but I won't be wasting my time trying to convince other people about the benefits of PoW. This is completely pointless. If somebody doesn't like Bitcoin/PoW, just let them continue with their BS. Grin
Such arguments can end with only one sentence. "Why don't you use both?" Grin There's no problem diversifying your funds with both BTC and ETH. Nobody is saying that you could use only one or the other. Grin
1110  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Adoption To Grow 50% By 2025, This Report Claims on: March 07, 2023, 11:42:01 AM
The creators of this poll consider stablecoins to be "crypto". I don't think that the stablecoins can be viewed as cryptocurrencies. Grin
Anyway, 50% growth seems way too much on a global scale. Maybe in some regions the growth of Bitcoin/crypto adoption would be significant, while in other regions the growth would be relatively small. I would say that 10% annual global growth of crypto adoption is a more realistic expectation. That doesn't necessarily mean that the cryptocurrency prices will skyrocket.
I'm not sure about how accurately crypto adoption could be measured. We still don't have verified data about the exact amount of people and businesses around the world, that are actively using cryptocurrencies on a daily basis.
1111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you know any telegram group where a lot of gamblers meet? on: March 07, 2023, 07:10:01 AM
Hi, as I said in the title, Do you know any telegram group where a lot of gamblers from the biggest casinos are discussing each other? If you are in some such group please share them here. I believe there are some groups but I can not find them, unfortunately Smiley. Thank you

Why would the gamblers from the biggest casinos discuss each other? AFAIK, some of the biggest casinos have their own chats, and the gamblers can discuss their performance there.
Telegram seems like a shady place to me. Most of the Telegram groups are dead/inactive and some groups are created for scam purposes.
I think that most groups on Telegram are private by default, so it's difficult to find them by using the search function on Telegram. You just have to get an invitation link from a member of such private group. I can't find a reason about why there should be any major gambling groups on Telegram.
1112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you could design Bitcoin from scratch today... on: March 07, 2023, 06:29:24 AM
Making BTC mining less energy hungry? I don't know how that will happen. Grin
Creating a method/protocol, where the users, who lost access to the coins in their wallets could  recover their private keys(access to their wallets). I know that many people would be against such protocol, because lost coins make BTC more scarce, but I think the fear of losing your coins because you forgot your password/private keys is what keeps many noobs away from Bitcoin and this kinda stops the process of mass adoption.
I agree with the idea of renaming the satoshi into Bitcoin. This way one Bitcoin would be worth less than a dollar, rather than 23K USD. This kinda makes Bitcoin look more accessible in the eyes of the noobs.
1113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 06, 2023, 11:04:37 AM
Unbelievable victory for Liverpool. AFAIK, the statistics about Liverpool's attacks and shots were 8 shots-7 goals. Outstanding efficiency for Liverpool. Nunez and Gakpo will be forming a great trio with Salah, successfully replacing Mane and Firminho.
United was solid in the first half, but something happened in the second half. Bruno Fernandes was really weak in United's middle line and Rashford shouldn't play at the center of the attack. I don't really think that United had underestimated Liverpool. It's just Liverpool scored their first three goals and United simply surrendered for the rest of the match(which is weird for a team like Manchester United).
Ten Hag will have to explain what happened in the second half.
1114  Economy / Economics / Re: Id like to say something about economy and markets about fear on: March 06, 2023, 07:32:18 AM
I don't know what exactly are you trying to say with this long thread. It would be nice, if you try to summarize your thoughts in a few sentences.
Do you mean that there will be a bull market despite the interest hikes? Which market are you talking about? The stock market, the FOREX market or the crypto market? Your opinion is yours. We just have to wait until the end of 2023 and see whether or not your were right.
Statistics about the German economy are showing that Germany might be entering a small recession. The same news are coming from the USA.
You can't have a recession in the economy and bull runs on the financial markets at the same time. This doesn't make any sense.
1115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did they not know about the importance of Bitcoin? on: March 06, 2023, 06:44:26 AM
Is this thread title a rhetorical question? Of course that those people didn't knew that the Bitcoin price is going to hit tens of thousands of dollars several years later. At least they had the balls to sell some BTC and the buyers had the balls to spend fiat money for BTC. What if BTC failed as a project and the BTC price went down to zero? The people, who bought BTC would have been ridiculed as complete fools.
Back in 2009-2010, the main goal of Bitcoin wasn't the price getting higher and making more profits by buying low and selling high.
The goal of Bitcoin was to become an alternative to all fiat currencies. Well, Bitcoin kinda failed at achieving that goal, but it became a successful financial asset.
1116  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin Disrupting our Financial Landscape? on: March 05, 2023, 10:53:31 AM
As we all know that Bitcoin is firstly introduced to us for it's convenience and numerous benefits. Being banked or underbanked, we can still enjoy the benefits and the accessibility of transactions as long as we have access to internet. Another benefit also is the anonimity it gives to people(although some would probably say not totally). By this, it is only right to say that Bitcoin has the potential to completely transform the way we think about money and finance. Compared to what we traditionally knew about finance, cryptocurrencies and bitcoin allows an individual to participate on the global economy without much requirement that otherwise it would be impossible. Although this is beneficial for developing countries, where traditional banking services may not be available or accessible, we couldn't deny the fact that it is slowly changing or disrupting the financial structure that we knew.

what do you guys think?

1.The way I think about money and finance hasn't been changed. I have financial education and my views about finance cannot be changed by Bitcoin or the cryptocurrencies.
2.I don't really think that Bitcoin is disrupting anything. The global financial fiat system is still strong and will continue to dominate the world in the next several decades. Bitcoin/crypto is an alternative. Do you really believe that Bitcoin will dethrone fiat money? I don't think so.
3.Having access to the internet isn't enough for "enjoying the benefits of Bitcoin". You need to have some money to buy Bitcoins first(or at least a way to earn Bitcoins with your skills and work). Grin
4.What do you mean by "participating in the global economy without much requirement"? Buying stocks and bonds?
1117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would You Build your Own Casino(online/offline) If You Know You Can? on: March 05, 2023, 07:27:55 AM

If you made a billion dollars or even more,

If I had a billion dollars, I would never bother building online or offline casinos. What's the point of making more money, if you are a billionaire? This is just pure greed. If you are talking about making your own casino only for the sake of playing gambling games there, I can't find a valid reason to waste my time doing such thing. I guess that I won't be losing the money, which I spent gambling on my own casino, but if I was a billionaire, I wouldn't care that much about wasting thousands of dollars on another casino.
Even if I'm not a millionaire/billionaire, I wouldn't start a gambling business, because the gambling industry is extremely competitive.
1118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: March, 20, 2023 is Bisq Market Day! on: March 05, 2023, 06:40:16 AM
1.I think that this topic belongs to the Service Discussion forum, since it's not about Bitcoin, but a particular crypto company or service.
2.I know that DEX exchanges are better than the centralized exchanges, but this dives some users a false sense of security. There are still lots of scammers on DEX exchanges, and the users must be aware of potential scam attempts. You are still sending your coins to a third party wallet, which serves as an escrow. I don't know how secure are the Bisq escrow wallets and does Bisq give you the private keys of the escrow wallet.
I haven't used Bisq and I don't plan to use anytime soon(because I have good alternatives). Maybe I will change my mind, if I don't have any alternatives for selling my BTC in the future.
1119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 03, 2023, 07:46:35 AM
I hear rumors about Erik Ten Hag wanting to buy Harry Cane(or Victor Osimhen) as a central striker and Franky De Jong and/or Jude Bellingham in the midfield. Bellingham, on the other hand, wants to join Real Madrid. The are offers to the Glaser family coming from different sides and I guess that Manchester United will have a new owner by the summer of 2023. This means a bigger budget and more money for new players.
Perhaps United will return to the "sir Alex" era of competing for the Premier League and the Champions League cups every year.
I also hear rumors about Arsenal wanting to buy Ducan Vlahovic from Juventus. Vlahovic doesn't fit the Arsenal style. I don't know why Mikel Arteta would want to buy a heavy striker. Arsenal is doing just fine in attacking and scoring goals.

He was of the view that since BFIC was advertised on national TV, it is a real coin and Bitcoin is just a clone or a scam.  Sad
He was not agreeing with me as he said if bitcoin was real, then it would have been showing at the PSL matches and not this coin.

That's really dumb logic.
Any shitcoin with a big enough advertising budget can be shown on national TV. Marketing in itself cannot prove the legitimacy of anything.
I guess that your friend is delusional. Bitcoin is NOT a company(or a product) and there's no need to be advertised, as if it's a product or a company. Many crypto companies are advertising themselves (just like Crypto.com on the last World Cup), no crypto company would pay for an advertisement that says "Buy Bitcoin!".
This Bficoin clearly has nothing to do with Bitcoin. It's not even a forked version of BTC, like BCH or BSV.
The names Bitcoin and Bficoin don't even sound similar. I'm surprised that somebody could be fooled into thinking that Bficoin is Bitcoin.
