1101  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is Your Plan for the Future? on: September 01, 2017, 06:05:11 AM
What are your plans for the future, in 5 years, 10 years etc.? What do you intend to do and what interests do you intend to pursue?

To finish study and get a degree. But first, get enough fund so i can invest on my education by relying on crypto currencies at the time being. So i will focus on trading and investing in crypto currencies for now then when i have enough funds already, i will go back to college and get the degree i have always wanted. While still doing cryptos along the way. Then find a good paying job that i like while continuing my crypto life. Then consider retiring early if i can and spend more time with cryptos so i can be able to give ample of time to self and my loved ones.
1102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have an interesting question. on: September 01, 2017, 05:40:25 AM
then think ahead and keep a backup! it really isn't as complicated as you may think.
most wallets these days are deterministic (HD) so they give you a master private key and that is the only thing you have to keep. you simply encrypt it with a strong password, print it on a piece of paper, laminate it and then put it in a bank's safety deposit box (yes banks are useful sometimes).

you can also encrypt it with a strong password and store it in the cloud. any of the services like google drive, dropbox,...
you'll save something like this:
Code:
FEiDJjzsuvQnjd+5GQ+AitU4bF7ijsGar+bldrJWWMLVkzU50Y3ho1+SOyIp3IerUqnbD2EjqFfGWR7tmbHWkUGR/t2C24SBR40jAihXis7V2QQ2p9l3oO/G7Pkqtw8O
this is AES256 encryption of an electrum seed available on the docs
Code:
constant forest adore false green weave stop guy fur freeze giggle clock

and you just remember the password. and if it is strong, nobody can ever break it in a thousand years.

the password is this by the way:
Code:
'sG.WvQ92Gpw6UbP\{k;
Grin

Wow, i never thought that was possible, let alone storing it on a cloud drive. And actually using a bank for storage. Plus that master key you are saying. How do i get that? I mean, even if my wallet got lost i can open it with a masterkey? And where do i find those options? Are they on the wallet?? And what is this thing called seed by the way?? Sorry for asking too much, I get easily excited, specially when i get to learn about something new. Thanks in advance.
1103  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Jumps Above $4,800 for the First Time on: September 01, 2017, 05:15:04 AM
Bitcoin's price briefly passed above the $4,800 mark for the first time today.

According to data from CoinDesk's Bitcoin Price Index (BPI), the price of the cryptocurrency hit a high of $4,802.74, before falling back to levels seen over the past few hours of trading.

Courtesy: CoinDesk

Guys what would be opinion upcoming months and what is expected price in upcoming year. Normally price use to bump when we nearing new from Dec 20 to Jan 1.

Wow, this really is good news if it really is true. This is the very first time that bitcoins price has risen to over $4,800 if ever! I hope this icreases more as days, months, and years pass. Because this thing happening today is the greatest dream of all bitcoiners.

I say about 5k-10k in the upcoming months and higher after december. May even reach the 10k mark. But then again nothing is for sure when it comes to bitcoins. All we can do for now is speculate.
1104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NSA Identified Satoshi Nakamoto on: September 01, 2017, 04:47:31 AM
Quote
The ‘creator’ of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, is the world’s most elusive billionaire. Very few people outside of the Department of Homeland Security know Satoshi’s real name. In fact, DHS will not publicly confirm that even THEY know the billionaire’s identity. Satoshi has taken great care to keep his identity secret employing the latest encryption and obfuscation methods in his communications. Despite these efforts (according to my source at the DHS) Satoshi Nakamoto gave investigators the only tool they needed to find him — his own words.

Using stylometry one is able to compare texts to determine authorship of a particular work. Throughout the years Satoshi wrote thousands of posts and emails and most of which are publicly available. According to my source, the NSA was able to the use the ‘writer invariant’ method of stylometry to compare Satoshi’s ‘known’ writings with trillions of writing samples from people across the globe.

The NSA then took bulk emails and texts collected from their mass surveillance efforts. First through PRISM (a court-approved front-door access to Google and Yahoo user accounts) and then through MUSCULAR (where the NSA copies the data flows across fiber optic cables that carry information among the data centers of Google, Yahoo, Amazon, and Facebook) the NSA was able to place trillions of writings from more than a billion people in the same plane as Satoshi’s writings to find his true identity.

But why? Why go to so much trouble to identify Satoshi? My source tells me that the Obama administration was concerned that Satoshi was an agent of Russia or China — that Bitcoin might be weaponized against us in the future.

Your words are your fingerprint. The moral of the story? You can’t hide on the internet anymore. Your sentence structure and word use is MORE unique than your own fingerprint. If an organization, like the NSA, wants to find you they will.

Source Here.

I am amazed at the capability of NSA to trace an unknown guy through his own words. Indeed, Satoshi Nakamoto wrote many things about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general. Through the use of modern technology, they are able to identify the man...though of course the details are not yet released for now...maybe in the coming decades we would really know who can be the man or woman behind the name Satoshi Nakamoto. For now, we the ordinary mortals could only speculate on his identity.

I really don't see anything interesting in finding someone who doesn't want to be found. I mean, i also am a fan of satoshi, i admire his works and all but, he wants to disappear and not be found, and so many has tried and failed to find him. So let's just respect the guy's decision and leave him alone. If he wants to show up he will, and if not, then he doesn't. If you respect him and his contributions to the crypto world, respect his decisions.
1105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / I have an interesting question. on: September 01, 2017, 04:19:09 AM
Okay, so you see, I am all about breaking free from all the chains of all the governments and their banks that are watching our every move and every asset we own so they can tax the hell out of everything they can. But you see, if I put everything i have onto an offline wallet or in drive wallet and put it in a vault, or anywhere you guys can think of, what then would i do if something happens to that place where i stored my drive containing almost everything i have? What if a fire happens? A war? A natural disaster? That would mean i would lose everything i have! And the worse thing is, i can also not go putting money on online wallets because i just don't trust them.

I would like to see some thoughts. Thanks.
1106  Economy / Economics / Re: Governments and banks are using you on: September 01, 2017, 04:05:28 AM
Backed by fiat currency.

Lack of patent.

What do you mean by these two comments? You're listing mistakes cryptocurrencies have made and these two are on that list.

Bitcoin is backed by fiat currency? Since when?

Bitcoin lacks a patent? Why does it need to be registered as an invention with a company?

I think you may misunderstand a bit how Bitcoin works (and call me out if necessary).

Bitcoin isn't backed by fiat currency. The reason people refer to the value in terms of fiat is because that's the currency that people use to buy and sell it. Bitcoin isn't backed or pegged or hinged to the value of a fiat currency. It's performance or existence isn't dependent on fiat currency.

Bitcoin is a project, creation, invention that isn't bound by any government. A founding principle is that it fills a void in the money system that's been lacking free access, support, and market. For Bitcoin to be registered for a patent would completely and directly undermine what Bitcoin is meant to be. It's meant to operate independent from any central entity (especially government). Trying to gain approval and protection to exist from a government would be the single greatest irony Bitcoin could achieve (and not for the better.)

If I've misunderstood you, please let me know.

I stringly agree. And even if the government and their banks build a new crypto currency that they might think is flawless, they will not get people to move from bitcoins to their own crypto currency. Because the main reason as to why people went to bitcoins(other than greedy fcktards that only want profit) is to be freed from all the chains of the governments and their banks. They want to lose all of those watchful eyes that wants to know everything they do and about everything they have and tax on everything they can. Fcking hate how the system today works.
1107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you even gamble? on: September 01, 2017, 03:03:47 AM
So reading a lot on your comments, I realized teo things; a gambler gambles because they love the thrill(the unknown or uncertainty it brings but mostly the good side of the thrill. Meaning you love the thrill but the winning part) then the greed, which drives you to chase for your loses and when you get even or win a little, you gamble more for the hope of getting more out of it. Am i right? So, is there really any way to stop someone from gambling? A friend actially.

1109  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the best coin to buy today? on: August 30, 2017, 02:40:01 PM
What is the best coin to buy today?  So many good coins.. sometimes I have hard time thinking what's the best coin to buy.

Yes. That is true. There really are a lot of alternative coins rising today. And most of them really have great potential. And there's no doubting that idea. So what coin does really stand out? What should an investor pick? Well, a lot of people will tell you about lots and lots oabout altcoins which then can confuse you and get you the risk of buting a coin that you might regret at the end. So my advice is go study the as many coins as you can, look for potentials that stand out, like prices, uses, or visions of the coins. So that you can make sure you made the right decision and if you fail, at keast you know it was you who chose and got the benefit of learning so you can do better next time.

Hope this helps, cheers.
1110  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is the Rocky Darius , Chris Dunn course worth it? on: August 30, 2017, 02:30:31 PM
Normally I would never look into these things but has anyone tried this? It feels like trump university, OK not that bad I don't think its a scam with a cardboard cut out of their picture, but I wonder if any one these classes are worth taking? For me I would take the 1500 and trade aggressively with it like it was monopoly money and either make money or learn what not to do. The one guy I know who day trades took the 600$ GW Bush gift certificate and started day trading it until he quit his job as a college professor. He would tell me to never spend money on these courses except for an investment course at a local community college. After all these guys are trying to make profit and I can see the majority of people who take these classes to make a few trades lose big on one and then give up on it either because they lost their money or it just to hard. Listening to the questions in the intro video these people have no clue. In 2007 I was sponsored for my series 7, memorized the whole 1000 page book and held (still do) a few licenses but that world is a lot different then crypto currency.
What are good online free resources and what are your goals ie long term day trade mining etc etc?

How To Create Income & Wealth With Bitcoin (Encore Class w/ Live Q&A) for $1500.

Well, you see, it is nice to learn from a person who really knows a lot or has been through a lot in in trading or in whatever it is you want to study. It is better to have someone with full knowledge teach you ao you know where to start and you get some warnings. But then, it is also good to experience the thing so you can feel it and get used to it. So i suggest you do your course, and do actual. Do not rely on the course alone. Instead, experience it. Let yourself get rid of your curiosity.  Hope this helps. Cheers.

It'll only be a matter of time till the prices of this coin go up, roo bad I couldn't get some of these coins. But i will surely be keeping my eyes open on this coin. Will be watching prices so that when dumps happen i can buy some on the exchanges. I just hope a dump happens anytime soon :/
1112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you even gamble? on: August 30, 2017, 06:53:44 AM
Everyone has great points and suggestions and i really am starting to see it clearer now, although i can say i have tried gambling locally and online when some of my friends gamble and they want me to gamble too like a dare or challenge. But after that I don't gamble. But even if they dare me, if I don't have an extra money or I'm not on the mood, i still don't gamble. So trying to do gambling to know how it feels is out of the equations now. Because after gambling a lot with my friends I still can't find reasons as to why people reach to such an extent that they don't care whatever the consequences may be. But im slowly understanding thanks ro all these ideas you all are posting. I'll be keeping an eye to this thread just in case a new thought is posted.
1113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you even gamble? on: August 29, 2017, 04:12:52 PM
I do gamble every now and then myself, but I am for sure not addicted.

Although I know my limits, it's really hard to stop when you're down. You can't stand the fact that you lose money, and you want to play more to get the money back.

I think it has a lot to do with the uncertainty of the outcome of the gamble. There always is a chance you win it back, so you're chasing your loss.

Well, that is mostly what i see on all the posts i see here, that people find it hard to stop when they lose money so they keep on gambling to get their losses back and more. But after a gambler tries a lot of times and fails, why does he still chase after it even when has has lost too much already?

Yes, I understand, a lot has also said that they love gambling because of the thrill, but is the thrill even worth all the things you might lose? Even when you know the facts? I really don't understand.. i would like to get deeper into this so i can help a friend who wants to stop gambling that always says that this will be my last gamble but then still does it minutes later or hours. i want to help him while he still hasn't lost too much.
1114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Why do you even gamble? on: August 29, 2017, 03:33:47 PM
This post is not intended to criticize gamblers, i am just curious what drives a gambler to really gamble even when the odds are against him or even reach the point where he'd rather lose everything he has than to stop doing his gambling addiction. I said the following because i have seen friends and some relatives on my mother's side literally lose everything they have like family, wealth etc. and only a few managed to stand up again. And some of that few still gamble to this day. And an uncle was found dead from a gunshot wound, whoever did it was unknown. But rumors say that it is one of all the guys he owed large money and never payed. While a friend(not close, just a neighbor) died from suicide because his wife left him along with his 14y.o daughter and 3y.o son. Now, I ask this because i dont get it. I just don't. I mean is it even worth it? If you ask me, i don't know. That is why i am asking. And the reason why i did it here is because we all know i can't ask a gambler with this kind of questions face to face because doing that would mean mean that I wanna start a fight. I mean that might how a gambler reacts to this kind of question. Please share your thoughts on this.
1115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ICO] XPLAY - A global extreme entertainment technology and tokenized ecosystem on: August 29, 2017, 01:56:35 PM
This campaign looks really promising specially because it catches the eye of the men investors and  great strategy to attract or to gather supporters. As we all know if we read the whole whitepaper this project is all about porn site including adult contents that can be presented through pictures and videos etc.

I totally agree. It has lots of new things that i have never heard yet that are pretty amazing. But the most amazing thing is that option they give that gives the customers the chance to have a choice. Which is whether they want the whole video or just their most favorite part of the video. This option allows the customers to pay for only what they want and not for the whole video.
1116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ICO] XPLAY - A global extreme entertainment technology and tokenized ecosystem on: August 29, 2017, 07:21:38 AM
I'm curious about the age limit who can use or view Xplay. It says it's an adult entertainment, so it's restricted below 18 year old?

I think they have a program or a system that utilize to sort out the minors. Even if the minors can go to the site how can they settle a payment to access a site if they don't have xpa token.

Yes they do. But who even cares nowadays? I mean, porn is not bad. It has just been labeled that way because of religion teachings plus it can cause unprepared pregnancy which is the result of pushing people in the corner to hide instead of getting proper advices about this matter. Sex should be taught to younger people so that they would understand more about it. So they know what consequences there may be in an unprotected sex and the responsibilities or problems that accompanies it.
1117  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hoping for Bitcoin to drop on: August 27, 2017, 04:43:55 PM
It is good that Bitcoin's price is so high since many gained many profit from it. But this hype is too much. Bitcoin is so much expensive now and every step we see Bitcoin increase. Well, I say it is time to go down. A price around 3000 USD is reasonable but going beneath that is much preferred.

What would it take to make Bitcoin's value to drop again? A new hard fork? whales dumping coins? anything, I just hope Bitcoin to drop tremendously.

LOL! What is this? A crybaby kind of guy who wasn't willing to invest as much as he maybe could have had??
Dude the market doesn't care what you want or not!!!!
There where so many dips and dumps the last few months you could have taken advantage of! The opportunities were there!
Just a few weeks ago, middle of july, we were down 1800!!! Man you missed so much opportunities. Don't blame Bitcoin and the actual price for you inability. You had your chances!

I am not whining about the current price, yes I am grateful about the increase, I made much profit from it. And so what if the market does not care about my want? I am not begging for it, am I? The only thing that should not be cared about is your sarcastic criticism.

It don't blame Bitcoin. Can you pin point the "blaming" part on my post, well if there is any, of course. Though Bitcoin gave an opportunity back then, misfortune happens and some did not and cannot grab the opportunity because. Criticisms are welcome IF my statement is wrong. But I cannot see why hoping Bitcoin to drop is, for you, is wrong.

You are thinking selfishly, one who only looks at your own profit. You think the bitcoin will go down, will you buy it and wait for it to come up? Stupid, that would not happen when people still like bitcoin. Once the bitcoin goes down, everyone will face disaster!

Is it selfish if some are hoping the same way as I do?

What is stupid about this?
Quote
...You think the bitcoin will go down, will you buy it and wait for it to come up?...
Some traders out there might laugh at your face when they show you how much they earned by doing so. They might spit on your face too Roll Eyes

You are talking about something will not happen, have you been in the future? Stop acting like you know something when in fact you are not sure at all. Pity.

Once Bitcoin goes down, many will just buy back, where is the disaster in that?

You know what op, i get where you are heading. Sure it's nice to be able to get bitcoins at a ver very low price, many people dreams of being able to do that., but the thing is, it wouldn't be good if bitcoins get drops like 40-80% so fast  rise rather slow don't you think?

So it is better if you become more positive. It isn't too late to go and buy bitcoins yet. We are still so far from the peak price. Every satoshi counts. As bitcoins increase in price, satoshis will be used more on transactions so don't feel so bothered of the increasing price. Just continue to earn and hold bitcoins and satoshis. Because you'll never know.

Well do you think that a 40-80 % quick increase is better? You are saying the other way around.

Now that you've said it, I wouldn't want an increase as much as that to be too fast. But I still think that bitcoin is great as it is now, i still wouldn't want btc to drop so low and rise too high so fast that can make it even harder to get than today.

Out of topic : how do you quote multiple posts like what you did?? And be able to pick what parts you want to include?

Omg i see another badecker vs. someone debate about to happen here! hahahahhahaha
Brace yourselves for the fight of links again. Hahahahahha!
im gonna watch this thread. Lol.

Anyways, I am a believer of GOD. And i dont force my beliefs on anyone. I spread the word but I respect the free will that my GOD has given to everyone. But if tou think about it, reading the bible even if you don't believe it, makes you a better person. It does when you take in all the lessons you have read,. Obeying his ten commandment wont do you any harm. Instead, it makes you become a blessing for others. And this can only make things better. I don't see anything wrong in believing what the bible teaches and obeying the words of GOD. I don't understand why some people really hate GOD so much, but I won't be forcing myself anymore to understand. Maybe there are just people that justifies the wrong they do in saying that the comandments are bullshit from a bullshit belief.
1120  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you agree in death penalty? on: August 27, 2017, 05:59:17 AM
I believe that we just borrow our lives from God. And He is the only one who have right to take them away from us.

At first, i really didn't agree with death penalty because i believe that every life is precious. But this beliefs can easily shift when it's not about some random person anymore. These beliefs change when horrible crimes happen to someone you really do actually love and care for. When a bestfriend gets murdered for no reason at all in the hands of a drug abuser that has been in and out of jail. I know because it happened to me, i lost my best friend, the only friend that was so close to me that we decided to be brothers even when we are not related. Now, i know that criminals must die in order to protect other people, to protect friends, families, wife, husband, etc. so i agree with death penalty. But it should only be for the worse crimes. And should be after a thorough investigation.
