A more solid investment would just be to focus on bitcoin, Sorry, man. From a protocol perspective, BSV is the Bitcoiniest of the Bitcoins. Yeah, BTC currently has the bulk of the market behind it. But that is not fundamentals. Just popularity. Which can shift on a whim. Perhaps induced by the upcoming Blockalypse II. Are you willing to accept network effects, such as the 7 network effects outlined by Trace Mayer? Of course. Network effect is a real attractor. But it is not an unassailable prohibitive barrier. If BTC returns to a state of severely compromised usefulness due to the centrally-planned production quota upon tx rate, this provides a force that acts in opposition to the network effect. Will it be a large enough force to overcome that of the network effect? I think it likely, though I admit it is unknowable in any a priori sense. Any way, reasonable people can argue either side of that hypothesis. You believe that those could flip on a dime, assuming that it is discovered that segwit is flawed, and all the bitcoiners (including regular folks, developers, miners, financialization, etc) will just bounce over to bcash SV?

When the pain of trying to stay on BTC exceeds the pain of adopting BSV, rational people would move to BSV. I dunno, I feel a more than fair deal was laid out on the table, acting as escrow I would hold the coins until the dude makes the numbers, assuming there were enough participants, all who have nothing (or very little to lose, just the tx fee) since they'd get refunded if it doesn't work out, or there aren't enough.
I mean, if we raise 100 BTC, and it does go up to at least $50k, then he's looking at a cool $5 million dollar pay day. I don't get why one wouldn't take the offer; unless he can't do it.
I'm not here to judge, I'm just here to confirm if it has been done or not.
Has a time frame been suggested? Is there a penalty for non-delivery by deadline? I could throw a handful of BTC at it under favorable terms. (Yeah, I know I'm poking the hornet's nest here) |

I think I have got a great idea for a new altcoin (chancecoin?). It will be called 'Scammercoin'. It will be a smart contract like platform. You send a small amount of Scammercoin to the network, including an url/email address or whatever identifier where a scammer is active. The Scammercoin network then activates a AI-powered chatbot that has been developed with the unique purpose of engaging the scammer for as long as possible (ideally via PMs or emails), making sure the scammer wastes as much of his time as possible (this is the optimisation criterium for the AI), by agreeing to the scam, but having technical difficulties for which you need the scammers advice etc. . Truly an unmet need, no? ' Scammercoin, for a better tomorrow ! ' Recent WO activity suggests that there may be a market opportunity for such a development. |
