1121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will You Return Hardware Wallet That Contains 3+ BTC in a Hotel Room? on: July 21, 2023, 05:21:24 AM
I believe the "Good" that you do, will come back to you. Imagine that women decided to keep the wallet and her employer decided to to test her honesty by "planting" that wallet in the room.... she would have lost her job, if she decided not to return it.

There are always some kind of consequences for our actions, so I think positive actions ....bring positive consequences. The employer might have given her a raise in her salary, if she was honest and he felt that he could trust her.  Wink (The owner of the wallet could even have given her a large reward for her honesty)
1122  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation is making a mess of my savings. on: July 20, 2023, 08:01:16 AM
The governments of this world can only "manipulate" the economy for so long, until the cracks are too big to hide. The clever economists have warned of a situation like this, but they were labeled ==> Doomsday Prophets.

During the previous economic crisis, GOVERNMENTS bailed out Banks with tax payers money and the "hurt" was postponed and masked over for a few years. Now, those cracks are bigger and tax money less, because more tax payers lost their jobs and businesses are suffering. (People buy less, because they cannot afford it with the higher inflation and the higher price of goods and services.... so the government earn less taxes.

Things are in a downward spiral.... and the domino affect are killing the middle income tax payer and the poor are asking for more support from the governments. (they have less taxes... so they cannot help the increase in poor people)
1123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you quit that's when you lose! on: July 20, 2023, 07:43:52 AM
Well, have anyone done the math?

Let's say you gamble $300 per day (yea, I know most people do not have that money) and you played every day for say 20 years... and then suddenly you win the Jackpot of say $2 000 000.  Roll Eyes

So... over 20 years you gambled away $2 190 000 to eventually win $2 000 000. (Remember... you win and lose, but you kept on gambling, so you lost whatever you won too)

Yes, it was a time killer and entertainment for some people.... but the more you play, the more you lose and the losses added up, eats into your big jackpot some day in the future.  Roll Eyes
1124  Economy / Gambling / Re: The Rise of Crypto Gambling: What You Need to Know on: July 20, 2023, 07:31:22 AM
The things.... most casinos implement KYC verification at some time, so your pseudo-anonymity are short lived. Just look at Freebitco.in and their latest announcement that they now require verification of their accounts.  Roll Eyes  (This is one of the oldest Crypto casinos in the industry and they now bend the knee before the regulators)

Also.... most people use Crypto exchanges and these exchanges require full verification... so they destroy all pseudo-anonymity that you have with Crypto currencies.  Roll Eyes
1125  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2023-07-10] Bitcoin (BTC) May Hit $50,000 by Year’s End and $120,000 By 2025 on: July 20, 2023, 07:24:43 AM
Yes, there are some experts who believe that Bitcoin could reach $50,000 by the end of 2023 and $120,000 by 2025. These predictions are based on a number of factors, including the increasing adoption of Bitcoin by businesses and institutions, the growing demand for Bitcoin as a store of value, and the limited supply of Bitcoin.
It is important to remember that Bitcoin is a volatile asset, and its price can fluctuate wildly. So, while these predictions are possible, they are not guaranteed.

Nobody are saying that it is guaranteed.... it is a prediction after all.  Wink  They are saying, based on their research and info that they have gathered..that it is possible, under the right circumstances.... that those prices can be possible.   Tongue

We know some positive things are in the pipeline for the future and history has shown that these "things" can boost the price significantly. The thing is.... negative things can happen too... which will drive down the price.  Sad
1126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Days you need to work your ass at minimum wage for a BTC, by country on: July 20, 2023, 07:09:47 AM
So, people earning minimum wage ...live from hand to mouth, they will never have the full amount available to buy Bitcoin. The best bet for them will be to get a second job and to use the full amount from that job to fund their first Bitcoin.

Also ... you have worked with a fixed price... so if the price of a Bitcoin goes up, then people can sell their coins.... wait for the price to go down and then buy more Bitcoin from the profit. (this is what I have done and I reduced the time and money from my wages to get to that first coin.  Wink
1127  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in is no longer a KYC free casino! (New terms) on: July 19, 2023, 06:36:10 AM
~FreeBitco.ng has been pushed to government regulations and because they want to continue operating, they have to dance to the tone of the government.~

No. We weren't pushed by anyone. As I have already stated we just wanted to make the site look more professional. As much as I liked the old 3 line ToS it did look a bit amateurish. Getting the lawyers to draft up a professional ToS is something we've been mulling over for a couple of years.

Come on "Quin" .... you know Wetsuit have been operating in the shadow for years... I do not even think you know who he/she is. Freebitco.in operated under the radar of the regulators, but now the FUN tokens are taking off and they are starting to look like a real casino with all the latest additions.

You can only grow so big, before the regulators sit up and take notice... and I think you guys peaked their interest. There is nothing wrong with going "legit" ... I am just saying, a lot of people are not going to be happy.

This is similar to what happened with "Circle" back in the day... they started with Bitcoin, then they turned into a Bank and they ditched their Bitcoin clients.  Tongue
1128  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2023-07-10] Bitcoin (BTC) May Hit $50,000 by Year’s End and $120,000 By 2025 on: July 19, 2023, 06:27:28 AM
Well, it helps to be optimistic and to spread positive news... with all the negative FUD that are being spread around the Internet. I would much rather spread predictions that are based on things that are going to happen in the future, than the doom and gloom that are being spread by the haters and the competition.

Let's set some realistic goals to beat the previous all-time-high price and take this to the Moon.  Tongue  Thank you for the responses, it is nice to get some feedback.  Wink
1129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beginners, you don't need Bitcoin first on: July 19, 2023, 06:21:56 AM
Yes, this is very good advice.

You do not have to get a high paying job as an executive to afford a few Dollars worth of Bitcoin. One of the big mistakes that most newbies do in the beginning, is to think that they have to save up to buy 1 whole bitcoin. You can buy 5 Dollars worth of bitcoin every week and you can say that you are "buying" bitcoin.

I started with small amounts and I bought at a low price... my $300 worth of bitcoin... back in the day, provided me with huge profits.. when the price of a Bitcoin increased to $40 000.  Wink
1130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US Presidential candidate announces plan to back the US dollar with Bitcoin on: July 19, 2023, 06:14:49 AM
Do not believe anything that comes out of a politicians mouth... they will say anything to garner more votes for the election. In the election where Trump won, some senators advocated for "Bitcoin" support and when Trump got into power and he decided not to support it.... they went quite to protect their jobs and their salaries.  Roll Eyes

I say.... "actions" speak louder than words... so JFK jr should stop talking and show us how he gets support from the rest of the senators, against the President of the country.  Cheesy
1131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: July 18, 2023, 07:31:50 AM
I think by now we have clear results:

Threads will end up like a lot many of the stupid ideas that Mark Zuckerberg had and it will face the same face as the Libracoin (does anyone even remember about it now?). All Zuckerberg can do is to steal ideas from others and then try to profit out of it. He stole the idea of cryptocurrency from Satoshi Nakamoto and then came up with Libra. Stole the idea of micro-blogging platform from Twitter and then came up with Threads. But what he forgets is that he needs to offer something extra to the users rather than a cheap copycat to stay ahead in the business.

Any businessman can spot opportunities to make money... that is why they are making money. Mark saw the problems at Twitter and he created an alternative for people with those problems.

Everyone jumped on the "Blockchain" bandwagon back then, because it was the latest "buzzword" and it was a leading technology for creativity.

We have to remember that IT companies have to follow the trends or they will be left behind. Finding innovative new ideas are becoming more and more difficult in a very competitive world.  Tongue
1132  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in is no longer a KYC free casino! (New terms) on: July 18, 2023, 07:10:21 AM
This is devastating news, because Freebitco.in has always been the last bastion for Bitcoin's pseudo anonymous services. I have been a member of Freebitco.in since the days when they were simply a faucet.

Wetsuit completely changed that business model back then, because the faucet were not sustainable with the advertisers not willing to pay for "poor" traffic. (their target market are not people who rely on hourly faucet drops)

I guess they are going to legitimize the site now, but they are going to lose a lot of users. Wetsuit obviously did the math, so I guess it will not bring down the site, but people are not going to be happy with this decision.  Roll Eyes

I hope "restricted" users will not find that their accounts are going to be "locked" and withdrawals being blocked?
1133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Storing Private Keys with Colors, how safe is this? on: July 18, 2023, 06:50:02 AM
I think storing Private keys with colors, just adds another process that can be deciphered... if you have the method to do it. I still think the best way to store Private keys are to split them up in a way that only the owner knows how to reconstruct it. (not other people that knows the method)

I can store pass phrases and Private keys online, without anyone being able to identify it. I can leave a template to my friends and family to decipher it, when I am gone.  Grin
1134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To Understand the Potential of BTC, What we Must Know? on: July 18, 2023, 06:14:18 AM
Bitcoin is not 100% anonymous, because people re-use Bitcoin addresses and this creates opportunities for people to break that pseudo anonymity that Bitcoin offers. The moment when you pay for something with Bitcoin and that item is linked to a senders identity, then it destroys your anonymity.

Bitcoin's underlying technology are decentralized, but the wrong configuration of full nodes and the wrong use of these nodes, can compromise the system. (We saw how attempts were made during the Bitcoin fork to undermine the voting process, by spinning up loads of AWS (fake) nodes.
1135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why local currencies when there is bitcoin ? on: July 18, 2023, 06:07:02 AM
The Fiat (local government currencies) are the first currencies that were introduced by the governments, so they support that. They also do not want to allow any competition for these local currencies, because they have control over these currencies.

So, even if Bitcoin is a better alternative to Fiat currencies, it will still have strong push back from governments. We can still use Bitcoin without the governments consent, but they will eventually clamp down on Bitcoin, if it is seen as a threat.  Roll Eyes
1136  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Anti fraud / scam tools for Bitcoin - UPDATES! on: July 17, 2023, 06:10:07 AM
There was a site called, Badbitcoin.org that did something similar. It started way back in 2014 and they lost interest in the project, so it is not being updated anymore. I hope the same thing is not going to happen with your pet project, once you finish with your studies and then go onto something else.  Roll Eyes

I used to refer loads of people to Badbitcoin.org in a time when there were loads of scams doing the rounds. (Ponzi schemes and scam ICOs and also Phishing sites)
1137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What could make you get into a fight with your fellow gambler? on: July 17, 2023, 05:55:48 AM
Well, I think I will also be pissed if I went into a gentleman's agreement with someone else and then they do not honor the agreement. So, I have to take the losses and he gets to take the spoils when he wins the bet.

They say, there are no honor amongst thieves... but I think the same thing applies to gamblers.... or should I rather say, gambling addicts.
1138  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is Stake.com allowed to lock account with $6,000 untill I lose it all? on: July 17, 2023, 05:51:56 AM
It looks like $6000 is some kind of trigger..... here is another example of someone that are going through the same thing, when they reached $6000 ===> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5457958.0

I do not think this is done deliberately, but we are dealing with humans here... and you might have been unlucky to have pissed off the wrong person that work with this. The money is gone now..... so whatever you do now, will be seen as you being butthurt over your losses, so I will write it off... and decide if I would continue gambling at a casino where they have treated you like that.  Roll Eyes Tongue
1139  Economy / Economics / Re: Can your passion lead to an increase in your net worth? on: July 17, 2023, 05:37:53 AM
Having a passion for something is only one aspect of the factors that contribute to your chance of having a success with something. There are other factors like "hard work ethic / Having a market for your goods or service / timing  etc... that has to happen, for people to make a success of their projects.

They say, a person that loves their job... do not work a day in their life... and that is why those people are successful. They do not care to work overtime or to do anything extra to make a success of their work.  Wink
1140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has already campaign for itself on: July 17, 2023, 05:29:51 AM
In today's world ....you have to make sure that people get the correct information about Bitcoin. There are so many misinformation and FUD being spread by people about Bitcoin, that it has become a necessity that people are directed to the "good" information by those people that are experienced with Bitcoin.

You will find that scammers will approach people by saying that they are investing in Bitcoin, but when you dig deeper.. you find that they are selling a Ponzi scheme that use Bitcoin as a payment option.  Roll Eyes
