Looking at the BFL supplied cable, its rated at either 3A or 8A. Not huge wattage, but more than enough for a Jalapeno.
Is rated 6 A. So it is... So theoretical maximum of 1500w. For sure I would not be comfortable running that much power through it (it would get warm) but still, more than enough to manage. 13v x 6A = 78watts max. Cable != power supply. The supply is rated at what, 78 watts, but the actual cable from mains to the power supply is rated to a maximum of 1500w. As said though, I would not want to try putting that much through it as it would certainly get warm. 100-240v x 2A = 480w max

Just some notes regarding the hand written information, might clarify some guessing. Please excuse my poor English skills... a) States the power cord does not apply to directive 2006/95/EC, Annex I, 1(c). Quote from the source: "The electrical equipment, together with its component parts, should be made in such a way as to ensure that it can be safely and properly assembled and connected."b) Due to a) they put the CE marking into question (if it is legit). c) Missing manual in German language and manufacturer/importer information. Should be easy to fix. 1) As mentioned, remove the US power cord from the package (or put all three, four used in the EU inside the package). 2) Create a flyer with some setup instructions (with all EU languages) and put it into the package. Print your manufacturer address/contact data on the same flyer. C'mon, this is easy. All manufacturers shipping to the EU doing the same boring stuff. Hint: Smart companies will print in addition the declaration of confirmity and ship it with the unit. Easy? I think there are 25 different languages in the EU! Draw a diagram and use as few words as possible. What the Chinese seem to do is ship to someone in Switzerland and get them to walk over the boarder into the EU.

From the outside, it's hard to tell if BFL is just a poorly managed company run by some marketing "visionaries" getting caught up in a get rich quick scheme, or simply just maximizing their own ROI before the Kansas State Attorney General gets involved. With the recent hard-line stance on refund refusal and the shipping slowing to a trickle, the latter might make sense - they would take the liquid assets out of the company after a initial shipping push (securing more pre-orders and upgrade funds) while not continuing to tie liquidity up on actual material orders like chips and PCB's. That's if they were planning on "taking the money and run" approach, which I'm sure BFL is not, because they seem like nice, honest folks.
RICO? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racketeer_Influenced_and_Corrupt_Organizations_ActRead through it carefully and see if it applies in any way? When the U.S. Attorney decides to indict someone under RICO, he or she has the option of seeking a pre-trial restraining order or injunction to temporarily seize a defendant's assets and prevent the transfer of potentially forfeitable property, as well as require the defendant to put up a performance bond. This provision was placed in the law because the owners of Mafia-related shell corporations often absconded with the assets. An injunction and/or performance bond ensures that there is something to seize in the event of a guilty verdict. In many cases, the threat of a RICO indictment can force defendants to plead guilty to lesser charges, in part because the seizure of assets would make it difficult to pay a defense attorney. Despite its harsh provisions, a RICO-related charge is considered easy to prove in court, as it focuses on patterns of behavior as opposed to criminal acts.[4] What the banks did fixing LIBOR rates is RICO but this is small time it seems more like a mail fraud or an arbitrage scam. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mail_fraud ..... http://fraudaid.com/Dictionary-of-Financial-Scam-Terms/arbitrage.htmI often wonder if Sonny V. is dragging this out until his parole for the last mail fraud expires? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=110805.0I hope my suspicions are wrong and they deliver to all without running out of cash/going bust, but there have been so many broken promises over so many months.

In the UK regular wall sockets that you can find in every room are 230v x 13A = 2990w max There are some higher amp ones but they are usually only found in the kitchen for cookers. By the way it's the Amps that kill you, not the Volts! 3120w 240v x 13a voltage at the wall here in the uk is 240-250v dont forget to acount for the powerfactor 2000w at a pf of 0.5 will be double the amps of a pf of 1 As we export electricity to Europe we have to too keep it around the 230v mark although you should design any device to expect 5% variance either side because we actually switch on/off hydro power stations to level out the power fluctuations! There is actually a man who watches the power demands and phone calls another man to turn the thing on! That's really how it's done here!

Not much longer at 1 BTC = $120 600MHs cards work out about $30 profit per BTC after power costs. It won't be long before it's cheaper the buy the BTC than run the graphics cards at this rate. If the price of BTC rises GPUs will stay running.

I noticed this story recently, but didn't see it posted here.. Butterfly Labs announced today that nearly every Jalapeno order through July 3rd 2012 has been shipped out. They have promised that every backlogged order will be shipped within the next 90 days and this morning they posted a picture up of over 100 units that were on their way out the door. http://www.coindesk.com/butterfly-labs-finally-ships-out-last-years-jalapeno-orders/..I know they've been promising to ship within 90 days since forever... ..also this interesting story about them selling the ASIC direct to bulk orders? It adds that chips must be ordered in minimum lots of 100, with a down payment of 50 percent and the remainder due upon delivery. http://www.coindesk.com/butterfly-labs-says-bulk-chip-sales-to-start-soon/

I just got my Gigabyte 7950s (GV-R795WF3-3GD) rev 2 with 6+8 pins. Factory Overclock is 1000Mhz which mines 500MH/s at 325watt (+100w for system) 88-92c and SADLY CRASHES after just 10-20 Minutes! It's 25w over what the PCI-E cables + MB supply! I ran tests at reference clock 800Mhz for an hour which mines 400MH/s at 260watt, 78-80c and seems fine. I ran tests at rev 1 OC 900Mhz for an hour which mines 450MH/s at 275watt, 81c, and seems fine. It's not as good as 2x7850s I normally use I get 600MH/s at 260watt, even 2x5830s get 500MH/s for around 325watt. I think there was a reason these were cheap with 4 free games on HotUKDeals. ---- I just read about the BIOS switch earlier in this thread, flicked it, now it's running 1000MHz mining 500MH/s at 300watt and 81c. I tested it for an hour, SUCCESS! No crashes. I'll try the F43 BIOS later as it sounds more power efficient, but at least the cards are not duff and not need to be returned.

What is your power supply? Are the cards running at reference clock or overclocked?
So we can rule out power issues.

Leave the shrouds on until the fans die, then pull them off, and cable tie PC fans to them.
The big external fans blowing over peoples systems is to keep the motherboards from catching fire! No case = no air flow over the motherboad heatsinks, VRMs and capacitors!

Switzerland is often used by Chinese businesses to sneak goods into the EU without paying import duty. $6,489 is too risky an investment for me though, I'll stick with $299 graphics cards. I really hope someone starts building and shipping small cheap ASICs soon or we're gonna lose the network to LiteCoin.

If BFL has been such a disappointment why then hasn't anyone already sued them? In the U.S, I mean. I think because they can just say "we still working on the products". If their delivery dates aren't stated in the contract, technically they have not broken the contract. As unethical as it is, according to the law I don't think they have done anything wrong. This is what I think is happening: - BFL had an idea to "sell" mining equipment and needed capital. - Offered pre-orders and made people pay upfront to generate capital. - They used the capital to buy the chips, manufacture the equipment Now they are merrily mining as hard and fast as they can with everyone's paid for equipment and getting as much BTC as they can. When the mining difficulty gets ridiculously high and it's no longer profitable to mine, they will start shipping these "tested" units to everyone who paid for them. So all you people waiting with pre-orders will eventually get your kit from BFL, but only when it's too late to break even or get a ROI. This makes sense. This is the major problem with BFL, The convicted mail fraudster Sonny, is one of the people spearheading the company, The asshole Knows how to bend the rules of the law ALOT through that knowledge they have been able to con people into investing in an idea, Rather than a product that is shipping a month after you preordered. We are really going to have to Try, if someone tries to sue BFL, we would need a darn good lawyer who knows how class action lawsuits function (and thier simmilar lawsuit styles) You don't need expensive lawyers just call the FBI and say people have been waiting 9 months for a product and you suspect Sonny is running another mail fraud and could they investigate/audit their accounts to see where the money/goods have gone. "because BFL will give out refunds, it's not definable as a scam." Pre-order/Arbitrage scams often give you your money back in a devalued currency or at a later date (Interest free loan that is used for currency speculation/equipment procurement). Lots of CEOs get done for miss-appropriating company/customer funds for personal gain. They've got no excuse for not refunding people in the same currency they paid in if they are running a bitcoin mining farm/pool.

He was running the card 100% load 24/7, how does that warrant an RMA? No card that it used for bitcoin mining should be entitled for a "free" replacement. How many lies will you tell them to get a new free card?
That would be entitled to an RMA. Pushing it past 100% (overclocking/overvolting) breaks the terms of the warranty. Using it right up to the terms 100% does not. Again, AMD ecourage overclocking in the Catalyst driver, see Performance > AMD Overdrive. Not volt moding though. (I wouldn't mention that)

When someone corners the market, the market participants go an play elsewhere. The winner of the ASIC wars is gonna be LiteCoin

2x 7850 (2048 stream processors) = 1x 7970 (2048 stream processors) same but a hell of a lot cheaper!

Yes, we need cheap mini ASICs for the poor miner, to keep the network widely distributed.
