Gemini is a neccessary requirement for the ETF as it will be the connection to the market.
Very important and cogent point! So many think the Winks are just a side story but this will really drive the market esp when the worldwide financials are shit at this point. Folks want something to get nasty on and bitcoin w/ all its help will be that in a large way, case closed. If you're not in, I'm sorry for you. Litecoin will do you good as well now if you're not sure of your ability to snatch up large amounts of bitcoin - 10 or more. Getting litecoin as it moons (soon) will afford you many more bitcoins when all is settled.
1142  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 25, 2015, 03:57:37 AM
The winklevii already have investors ready to buy as soon as they go live.  They know alot of high power people.

I don't doubt they know powerful people but powerful people are "usually" powerful as they are fairly intelligent.

Now, I am mildly semi intelligent and I know if I were them I'd buy before Gemini is launched and the price potentially rises.

Why wait for the winkles?

I am not sold on this Gemini exchange doing much at all to the price. Not moon bound anyway but............

I really hope I am wrong and everyone points and laughs at me.

There is nothing new anymore about a regulated exchange. And with the swedish ETN the Twinkletossers ETF has lost much of it's novelty. But they somehow get all the media and all the fat cats to listen to them. Often just to point and laugh, but listen they do.

Don't get me wrong. I still think a fully regulated ETF listed in NY is a big deal, just not as big as it was. And with the other exchanges, the ETN and general acceptance of BTC in financial circles, we don't need the Facepalm Bros to launch this mofo.

The hotshots are looking for a big news exchange to come around so they can do their thing with class and "the next best thing". We are on the cusp of epicness like you've never seen nor considered or thought possible.

Totally, I rest my case. This shit of bitcoin is gonna get out of hand in a hurry and freak you out like you've never experienced in your life before. The roaring 15s and beyond are coming so you better get your shit in order to panic buy needed if you're not already all in at this point.
1144  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 25, 2015, 03:51:43 AM
Can I ask what is so good about Gemini?

Aren't there already exchanges? Why expect a upward movement in price?

Just wondering.

Thanks

Gemini will be a "fully regulated, fully compliant" exchange with major fiat backing (Winklevoss twins) They also have a major stake in Bitcoin with a reported 1-2 percent of there assets in BTC.

The Twins seem serious and motivated to "Make Bitcoin bigger then Facebook".

If sombody will make BTC "Mainstream" it will be them.

Yeah but is this just a U.S thing only? Most exchanges are awful with Euro, pound sterling etc.

Apart from in the U.S. it's pretty shitty for the average person to buy bitcoins.

This has most likely been mentioned 100s of times but if the winkles have that much what's to stop them dumping on Gemini?

Not trolling, just asking.

Latest report mention they are filling for charter in the New York State which, correct me if I'm wrong, would make them the second fully regulated exchange in the U.S (on a national scale).

My guess is chartered banks are likely to eventually have better support for international customers than traditional exchanges.
Correct, ItBit was the first but I surmise that the best traders are waiting for the big time activity that Gemini will bring onto the market to get their game on in this market. Make no mistake, Gemini and that ETF will moon us like you can't comprehend. Promise!

It would be a popular and well awaited US licensed exchange where traders of all kinds can do their magic.
A buddy of mine that trades gold and oil futures everyday and is quite good at it is foaming at the mouth waiting for the Winks to get their shit running to do his and his groups thing w/ bitcoin. He's waiting on me for the news. Lots of traders are needing new grounds to play around with don't cha know! Esp in the US.
1146  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 25, 2015, 03:44:55 AM
Today the bitcoin price reached a good point of the week.
TODAY'S HIGH $289.58
TODAY'S LOW $275.09
What is the next phase of the bitcoin?

Gemini phase, 290--->350.
I was watching you like a hawk and at this point I'm happy I haven't ignored you yet as I do with most noobs thanks to the butt plug troll. Stay cool yo.
1147  Economy / Speculation / Re: Direction is NNE (north northeast) - MOON TIME on: July 25, 2015, 03:35:14 AM
Don't use my thread for promoting pump & dump schemes like litecoin is.

 Wink
I won't any further but the pumps refuel the bitcoin rise as I'm sure you're well aware of. Just trying to provide options to those that are looking for other options to do their part in helping shoot bitcoin to the moon. Smiley Done
1148  Economy / Speculation / Re: Direction is NNE (north northeast) - MOON TIME on: July 25, 2015, 03:05:04 AM
Don't be that guy.  Wink

Yes.  Acceleration is just around the corner.
You can kick me in the nuts for bringing this up in your thread but I'm of the mind that litecoin is on a move of its own again. Got a nice stake set up there as well. So, for the folks that are feeling the panic at this point or in the near future and don't have the fundage to get nasty on bitcoin, litecoin is a way where you can scoop plenty of them and then redeem them back for bitcoin, much more of it, as it makes a moon of its own.

1150  Economy / Speculation / Re: Panic sellers and non-holders beware: This could be you in the future. on: July 25, 2015, 01:45:53 AM
Considering the world financial events happening plus the slaying of the bear market it would behoove all interested parties to have as much bitcoin as they can responsibly have at this point. The pot is brewing up something wild and crazy coming up but keep in mind how much easier it is for a lot more people to get their hands on coinage in more parts of the world than during the last bull market liftoff. Also, sounds like the Winks will have Gemini up and running in the next few weeks to months. It'll be a fun time to be alive. Grin

NSA whistleblower William Binney is advising Rand Paul

ROBIN: Yeah. Okay, I understand. Interestingly, earlier in the interview -you mentioned Rand Paul, and I want to just ask you a little bit about that because I know for a lot of folks who identify with the liberty movement, there's a certain hopelessness about the electoral process. They believe that any application of people-power to the electoral process is basically hopeless because that process is hopelessly corrupt. Now, is it fair to say that - given that you offered the name of Rand Paul - that you believe, that you apply effort to supporting candidates like him, to shining the light on candidates like him, and that you think it is worth turning out to support folks like Rand Paul - and that it is possible, at least in theory, that a Rand Paul presidency would not become corrupted in the same way that a George W. or a Barack Obama presidency did? Do you believe that?

BILL: Yes, I do because...actually I'm trying to help as much as I can. I mean, if he gets the right advisors and doesn't fall for the bamboozling of the intelligence community, then, he would have it right, and I believe that he will not fall for that. At least, so far, he's evidenced the fact that he wouldn't. He's made it pretty clear that all the existing laws that we had would function well as long as we abided by the constitution.

ROBIN: Yes.

BILL: He's advocating for more intrusive investigation of people who are suspect or in a zone of suspicion around bad guys.

ROBIN: Yeah.

BILL: That's the disciplined, professional approach that really we need to succeed, and he's got that focus and he said that on the floor of the Senate in his filibuster basically for 11 hours down there.

ROBIN: Yes.

BILL: He said that, and that's really pretty clear. I mean, that's really the way they have to do it. That's the way Anonymous did it; that's why they succeeded.

ROBIN: Yeah.

BILL: Our intelligence community is consistently failing on that. I mean, the FBI is really good at entrapping people, but, you know, those aren't the real threats. I mean the real threats that were coming - fundamentally, most of them succeeded. The ones that failed failed because their devices failed, you know, or some local policeman saw them and stopped them.

ROBIN: Yeah, that makes sense.

BILL: So that should be clear evidence that they're doing something wrong. I mean, after all, if you're running an organization that's not succeeding, you're doing something wrong. You've got to change. That's really pretty simple.

ROBIN: Now, the beginning of that answer, Bill, just to make sure that I was clear. Did I hear you say that you were advising Rand Paul or talking to him about these matters?

BILL: Yeah, we're passing advice to people who are working with him...

ROBIN: Okay.

BILL: ... so that we can try to contribute to him that way.

so... sideways after the double top doesn't look good. gravity will soon be noticed. i'm putting my bets on a leg down. very sad because i was promised 1200 this month. not very likely but hey this is bitcoin.

please do whatever you want. but the only entity that is always right is the market and thats because it accumulates all of the available knowledge.
If you're serious then selling out is the appropriate motion at this point. Otherwise, stay tuned cuz the next moon is right around the corner and you'll likely miss it base upon your disbelief at what is to come cuz you're so shell shocked.
1155  Economy / Speculation / Re: nrd525 Market Tracker on: July 23, 2015, 05:51:51 AM
People might be using exchanges (especially those with zero fees) and/or gambling sites as mixers. One consequence of not having a mixer site and having a lower market cap is that LTC is less anonymous than BTC.  Which makes it easier to track ponzis and scams.

...

BTC continues having problems with online payment adoption:
http://www.coindesk.com/expedia-exec-purchases-with-bitcoin-are-down-40/

Well that was expected. Retail adoption of Bitcoin was never a good idea to begin with and only redditards fooled themselves into believing it was gaining any traction at all.
All adoption to some extent takes is the next bull run that no one can comprehend and then all bets are off and the top becomes heavy when the public gets wind of the move up. See it coming or fold early, your choice.
1156  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you one of 62%? - 62% of People Say Bitcoin Will End 2015 Below $500 on: July 23, 2015, 05:49:03 AM
It's hard for me to take serious thoughts around the $500 by the end of the year when we're clearly in a bull market at this point. Go higher, way higher. So many battered women syndromes around here when a bull market is ready to move. The low expectation crowd has a duty to themselves to sell at $500 and leave the rest up to the real bulls.
1157  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 BTC = $5,000 by end of the year! on: July 23, 2015, 05:37:12 AM
I think this is correct more or less. Just need to slide the peak over to the right by 8 months. We'll 5K+ after the block reward halving.

keep dreaming! we'll be lucky if we hit $500 near or after the halving. it's quite funny to see how many people here can't seperate fantasy and reality.
Fantasy can be reality if you've had a piece of the last run up. Now it seems that just getting to $400 seems like a riot of bullishnesh to some but it is just the beginning of FOMO and the media taking it to the people. I'm sorry your expectations are so low or that you've been a battered spouse to bitcoin for this last shit period since the last downturn in the new year of 2014. You're about to experience something that will shut your mouth forever (in a good way) and make a real believer out of you. You're about to witness a special time in bitcoinland. Cool
1158  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 BTC = $5,000 by end of the year! on: July 23, 2015, 05:32:36 AM
I won't complain about this if the price really reachs this high before the end of the year , at least I can buy my Audi at the age of 18  Roll Eyes
But we should be realistic little bit and stop dreaming and giving faulse prediction and faulse hopes to people . Price will more then likely won't go anywhere higher then 1k $ until the Halving block reward . deal with it
Welcome to the high life at such a young age but I see you're scarred from disbelief by the ending bear/barf market for so long. Let's get up to speed on what this bitcoin can do and make a name for itself in such a large way. I hope you don't sell your piece(s) at $600 and then shit yourself as the world takes aim at bitcoin. I only agree w/ the OP in that $5k is the first wave of the next bull market. Live well my friend.
1159  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 BTC = $5,000 by end of the year! on: July 23, 2015, 05:27:04 AM
So mining will bring in $18 million a day?  Riiiight...
When bitcoin is showing off its ass at the stripper parlor in a bull market, it always exceeds expectations especially when those have been depressed from such a dull period. Plus, if the Winks showcase the entrance of their ETF and Gemini or one or the other at a strategic time, Boom! Seriously, $4 billion market cap at this point? Stop

Gotta keep sacrificing the little people at the bank to make more room for bonuses for the mid and upper level executives.
