It’s been a long winding road, but we have finally reached Championship Saturday for the 2020 college football season. We have a bunch of great matchups with playoff implications. I’ll be taking a look at the SEC championship, one of the more anticipated games of the week as we have #1 Alabama vs #11 Florida.

Alabama Crimson Tide Preview

Coach Nick Saban (253-65-1, 162-23 at Alabama)
Nick Saban is one of if not the greatest college football head coach of all time. He has lead Alabama back to its glory days that it had reached under legendary coach Bear Bryant. Since Saban’s arrival in 2007, he has won 5 national championship games and been runner up twice. This year is no different as even with a loss, they will find themselves in the playoffs
Offense: The offense is led by RS JR Mac Jones. He has filled in admirably as his first year as a starter. His numbers are gaudy, throwing for over 3300 yards combined with 27 TD and only 3 INT while leading the country in QBR. There is a lot of talent for him at WR as DeVonta Smith, John Metchie III, and Jaylen Waddle are all more than capable. The rushing attack is led by Najee Harris’ 1000 yards. As a team they are very balanced as they rank 6th in passing yards and 40th in rushing.
Defense: It’s no surprise here that Alabama has a great defense once again. Every year Alabama churns out multiple NFL prospects on defense. For the 2020 season the team rankings are again very solid as they rank 11th in points allowed and 18th in rushing defense. There is talent all over on this side of the ball and they’ll be tough to move the ball against.

Coach Dan Mullen (98-53, 29-7 Florida)
Dan Mullen has been a solid coach for the last decade at Mississippi State before taking over for Florida in 2018. In his 3 years at Florida he has revived them from a tumultuous tenure by Jim McElwain. He is in his first SEC championship and will be looking to cap this season off with a bang.
Offense: Unlike in previous Florida seasons, the offense is definitely a strength of the team. Their QB Kyle Trasks is having a season that is propelling him into an NFL prospect. He leads the country in passing yards and touchdowns, throwing for 3,700 yards and 40 TD respectively. He has quite a few WRs to throw to in Kadarious Toney, Trevon Grimes, and Jacob Copeland. Their TE is a very strong weapon as Kyle Pitts has 600 receiving yards and 11 TD.
Defense: In previous seasons, the defense of Florida was definitely one of their strengths. In 2020 the defense has been mediocre giving up over 26 points a game. There is still a lot of talent on that side of the ball and can challenge Alabama.

The second leading scorer is another guard in Alex Renfroe, an American that is the former Atlantic Sun conference player of the year while playing his college basketball at Belmont University. Like his backcourt mate, he has played in all of the top European leagues, mastering his skills and becoming a well-rounded player. The bench is led by Vitor Benite, a guard that represents the Brazil national team and has experience in Spain the last 5 seasons. He averages a strong 12 pts a game, allowing the team to not miss a beat when the starters come out. With as well balanced the team is, it is no surprise that they sport a prolific offense, ranking 4th in the league in points per game. The defense is also solid as it ranks in the top half of the league in 8th.
Basquet Manresa

Basquet Manresa currently sits in 10th place at 7-6, and with a win would be in a good position to make a playoff push. Like their opponent, their offense is solid, as it sits ranked 7th in the league in points per game. However, the defense lags a bit behind and sits in the bottom part of the team rankings at 15th out of 19 teams. The team's top player is Scott Eatherton, a quality scorer and rebounder that played his college basketball at Northeastern. A common theme here, as he has also played in the top European leagues in Italy, Germany, and Spain. The team's second best player comes off the bench in Makai Mason. He is a recent addition after just finishing up his college basketball at Baylor. Makai is a tremendous three point shooter and must be guarded closely.

In Philly land, the 76ers are looking to bounce back after an embarrassing playoff exit in the 2020 bubble. Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid are looking to not be in sync, which has sparked trade rumors all summer. Daryl Morey their new GM provides hints of greatness, but needs to figure out what he wants to do with this team. With two stars on the block, Philadelphia always has potential to create waves. But it will be hard this season, with already-known chemistry issues dating back 2 years now.

The Boston Celtics are one of the NBA’s most exciting young cores and have the ability to create havoc on both ends of the court. With Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown leading the way, Kemba Walker has proven to be a lethal addition in the process. Danny Ainge and Brad Stevens have their hopes set high this year, and for good reason. The Celtics are a legitimate Eastern Championship contender, and they are looking for no less after having a trip to the CF Championship for 3 of the past 4 years.

Jeff Smith is one of very few Canadians looking to make a statement this year at the PDC Championship. As a player who broke the Top 10 and currently sits in 91st place overall in the world, he’ll be looking to get off to the right start and claim an important win in the start of the tournament. He is coming off of two losses recently with one being to Aspinall, who is a top 6 player this year. In what was a closely contested match, things got away from Smith, in the end, as he fell 6-4. As things have looked rocky the last few matches, Smith has showed some promise and has been throwing darts consistently better as time has gone on. Looking to find a way back into the win column, Smith will be up against a weaker opponent and looking to take advantage of the opportunity that lays ahead.

Keane Barry is the younger and less experienced of the two. Sitting in 105th place in the overall ratings, he’ll look to try and obtain a slight upset and move onward in the tournament. He is also coming off a close loss to the 4th ranked overall player Michael Smith. The match was surprisingly close and ultimately Barry fell 6-4 but showed some very promising play. With a match that almost ended in a gigantic upset, he’ll be looking to take that surprising play forward into his first round match-up of the PDC.

In what should be a close contest, it’s surprising to see neither men have encountered each other before. With so much unknown on how either will play, it’s certain this will be a very close match. Barry may be ranked lower than Smith, but he’s playing just as well and with a promising showing over Michael Smith it’s hard not to back the young gun right now. Barry should find a way to finish things off late into the match as long as he can keep his play smart and hit his checkouts. Look for things to swing his way and continue further in the PDC. Expect the slight upset to take play early in the tournament and keep a eye on the youngster as he should impress in the first few rounds this year.
Prediction: Barry to win (2.00x)

Deiveson Figueiredo (20-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC) has had a remarkable start to his UFC career. For a flyweight he has unprecedented power and is extremely dangerous on the feet. He has been on absolute tear since his only setback in 2019, a frustrating decision loss to Jussier Formiga. Since then he has rattled off 5 victories, finishing the fight before the bell in 4 of them. His last 2 performances against Joseph Benavidez and Alex Perez have been absolutely amazing. He made a really good fighter in Benavidez look like he didn’t belong in the octagon. Against Perez, he had an extremely impressive submission victory. If he is able to mirror those performances, I could see him as a champion for the foreseeable future.
Brandon Moreno (18-5-1 MMA, 7-2-1 UFC) is making the most of his return to the UFC. Since his return he has 3 wins and a draw that I believe he did enough to get the victory. He has looked very good against very high level competition and appears to be improving with every fight. He is very well rounded and in has couple fights shown really good scrambling ability to get out of bad positions into dominant ones. He has definitely earned his title shot as he has beat everyone in front of him since his return. I think his best path to victory here is to get this to the ground
Prediction: I think this fight will be extremely competitive and go back and forth. If Moreno survives the first couple rounds of Figureido's power, I believe he'll able to do enough to take over the fight. Pick Moreno by decision

Tony Ferguson vs Charles Oliveira Analysis and Prediction
Tony Ferguson (25-4 MMA, 15-2 UFC) has been around the top of the division for years. Recently, his 12 fight win streak was snapped as he lost by TKO to Justin Gaethje. He’ll be looking to rebound with a win and earn another title opportunity. Ferguson is a wild man that will wear down his opponents by constant forward pressure and a barrage of strikes and submission attempts. He took a beating in his last fight so it’ll be interesting to see if he alters his approach at all or continues to put caution in the wind and go all out.
Charles Oliveira (29-8, 1 NC MMA, 15-8, 1 NC UFC) is all the all-time submission leader in UFC History. He is on a very good win streak winning 7 in a row, all by finishes. His striking has improved tremendously and is no longer just a submission threat. Ferguson is a big step up in competiton for him as in his 7 fight win streak, all but 1 were against unranked foes. In the past, he has struggled with pressure and has crumpled to the higher ranked fighters. He’ll be looking to silence his doubters and be in the title picture.
Prediction: This will be a tremendous fight between two potential champions. I think Ferguson will start to slow down after his fight with Gaethje and won’t be as durable as he has been in the past. It’ll be an action packed back and forth battle before Oliveira is able to find the submission. Oliveira by submission in round 2.

Junior Dos Santos vs Ciryl Gane Analysis and Prediction
Junior Dos Santos (21-8 MMA, 15-7 UFC) is a former UFC Heavyweight champion that has been around the block. He has fought the who's who of the heavyweight division for the last decade. Dos Santos has very crisp boxing and has proven durable over the years. He does appear to be slowing down, whoever, as he has been knocked out in his last 3 fights.
Ciryl Gane (6-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) is a very highly touted heavyweight prospect that has struggled to get a fight since last year. He has had multiple fights fall through at the last minute and will be chomping at the bit to get back in the octagon. He is a kickboxer by trade but has shown a well-rounded game as he has 3 submissions on his record. He is a physical specimen and is a deserved favorite.
Prediction: Unfortunately for Dos Santos, I think he is a little bit past it and can't compete at the top anymore. Gane by TKO in round 2.

Bayer Leverkusen and Slavia Prague face off on Thursday, in a matchup that reflects 2 of the advancers in Group C of the Europa League. With both campaigns having been very successful in the European space so far, momentum needs to be continued and goals surely to be scored. Bayer Leverkusen comes into this game as favorites who on paper, have the most talented squad in their group. Hailing from the tough Bundesliga, Leverkusen boast a team that is capable of more than Europa League prowess, a team that can beat most head to head with a very potent offense. With a 17 to 8 goal difference ratio in group play, Bayer have showed their capabilities of counter-attacking and pacey football. If you play too deep against this Bayer Squad, the trouble will follow, and if you don’t leave too many back, the same thing will burn you every time. Such a potent offense comes with an average defense, as Bayer will look to their back line for improvement this time around. Limiting Slavia Prague could be a challenge, but I assume their defense will be up for the challenge.

Slavia Prague is one of the main Czech Republic teams that make it towards International European football every year. They are a mainstay at the top half of the table in 1 Liga, and are often times the Czech hopes for making noise in the Europa and Champions Leagues. This year, they have done just that, being joint top groupers with Leverkusen. Coming into this game from an away perspective, Prague needs to realize that they have their work cut out for them. Although the talent is definitely realized with Slavia, they do not have the experience like Leverkusen does. Playing in a much tougher league as well, Bayer provide all types of matchup problems and ability mismatches. My name is Brad Scott and I work with SBR (sportsbookreview.com) helping players resolve disputes with sportsbooks.
 
I have been asked to provide a statement for public consumption regarding the complaint submitted by Betcoin.ag user ZIK013, so am addressing this to the wider crypto betting community.
 
Brief Background:

Betcoin.ag decided that user ZIK013 was playing from The Ukraine, was working with a syndicate from that country and was multi-accounting with account KillyPG.
 
They wanted to confiscate the account balances in line with their stated policy regarding The Ukraine  https://www.betcoin.ag/suspending-service-russia-and-ukraine-effective-immediately
 
SBR was asked to advocate for ZIK013 and after reviewing the available evidence advised ZIK013 that trying to come to an amicable agreement was the best option to see him paid.
 
Betcoin.ag said that if ZIK013 would make a public statement on the Bitcointalk forum saying that he understood why Betcoin were so suspicious and were not unreasonable to have acted as they did, and SBR would provide a report to back up that post, they would treat this as a simple multi-accounting case and not invoke their rule regarding The Ukraine

ZIK013 agreed to this, made the requested post on Bitcointalk forum, and was allowed to withdraw the account balance of that account, and the total deposits that had been made to the KillyPG account. This is what I advised ZIK013 would happen and is in line with fair industry practice for multi accounting, the lesser of current balance or total deposits.
 
ZIK013 has changed his mind after being paid, so Betcoin has asked SBR to provide the promised report.
 
SBR Role:

SBR is not a regulator and does not make “orders”. We attempt to mediate fair solutions to disputes that both parties can be satisfied with and agree to. Confidence that the wider offshore industry can be trusted, without the onerous rules of onshore regulation, is the goal.
 
We advocate for the player and try to avoid doing anything that might compromise their position, so it is with regret that I am now forced to honor the agreement and provide a public explanation of the mediation process.
 
This is not a ruling, just an explanation of the steps taken to find the best possible solution for the person we are advocating for.
 
Betcoin Allegations:

1) Playing from The Ukraine
2) Controlling more than one account & circumventing betting limits
3) Working as part of a Ukrainian syndicate
 
Evidence Offered:

1) Playing from The Ukraine

Betcoin offered activity logs where on three occasions the account was logged in from a VPN connection which changes to the same retail Ukraine ISP owned IP, causing an auto logout. The same regional VPN IP range was used both before and after these logout events, which Betcoin say is indicative of a VPN system drop out and reset.
 
I asked ZIK013 if he had any idea how this could happen.  He said he uses a multi layer setup involving virtual machines, TOR and rotating IPs from five VPN companies and it must have been from that. I said it appeared unlikely any of the 5 companies he named would control that IP and did he know if any of his providers offered “undetectable” or “retail” IPs. He said he did not really understand the system very well but some online friends had helped him set it up and one of them may have included their home IP from inside Ukraine in the rotation.

I thought that explanation brought up more questions than it answered, and there was no evidence of rotating IPs in the logs I was shown to support the theory, so decided it would be fruitless to go any further into this angle.

I asked what KYC proof ZIK013 could offer to show where he is.

ZIK013 said he is located at an address around 10 hours driving time from the suspect Ukraine IP, and in a different country. He said that he could offer passport and utility bills, a photo of himself outside his house which can be identified from Google Earth, an on demand video, or anything else within reason.
 
I believe this is more than enough to meet normal justifiable ID standards and is sufficient for ZIK013 to refute the claim that he is in The Ukraine.
 
Betcoin did not agree with that assessment, saying their experience is that operatives for the suspected group are always armed with fake KYC documents or use a “gnome” stand-in.

2) Controlling more than one account & circumventing betting limits

Betcoin is able to show that the ZIK013 and KillyPG accounts have been funded from the same source.
 
Betcoin offered six examples of the two accounts making the same maximum limit bets within less then 1 minute of each other.
 
Betcoin alleged that ZIK013 has been communicating on behalf of the KillyPG account and offered a number of examples comparing the writing style to justify their claim. I could not argue with their analysis.
 
ZIK013 said that KillyPG has made many bets that are not the same as his apart from these few examples, and is in control of his own account.
 
He says KillyPG is a subscriber to his Blogabet service and as such follows most of his bets soon after posted.

He said that the account funding was him innocently paying back money he owed and denied that he had ever communicated pretending to be the KillyPG account.

I sent ZIK013 three of Betcoin’s example bets and asked him to send me a link to Blogabet where he had posted those, hopefully just before KillyPG bet them.
 
I also asked ZIK013 if he was able to provide anything we can use to show how the money owed had originally changed hands, to support that story.

None of those three bets had been posted to Blogabet but ZIK013 provided evidence of a Telegram session where he says he shared those bets with private subscribers only.

He was unable to think of anything that could be used to help show it was a real debt.

I explained to ZIK013 that whether KillyPG is genuinely another person and all activity is innocent or not, Betcoin do have enough evidence to reasonably justify their claim that the accounts are working together and are circumventing their betting limits.

3) Working as part of a Ukrainian syndicate

Betcoin offered examples of bets on lower leagues and alternative markets that they are suspicious of being syndicate plays

Betcoin claim that the source wallet only ever having transacted with the Binance exchange and Betcoin is indicative of how banned Ukrainian syndicates operate.

ZIK013 said he sometimes uses tips from other sources but denies acting on behalf of any other group or person.
 
ZIK013 was asked to show where several bets Betcoin were suspicious about had been posted on Blogabet, as this would go a long way to refuting the claim these were syndicate plays. But they had not been publicly posted.
 
ZIK013 said Betcoin were incorrect about the wallet usage as he had used it to fund several other bookmakers.

I put it to Betcoin that they were wrong about the wallet use history and they responded with this information;

That wallet on the far left starting with 13Taq is the wallet which funded both accounts. The Zik account had several other wallets which funded and received funds from Betcoin, which are part of that triangle on the left.

On the right side you see sending and receiving exposure and orange is for gambling. All Bitcoin gambling sites are a part of this software.
If I click on the orange for that wallet, you will see that it is 100% Betcoin.

To be thorough, I also checked the other 2 private wallets that were related to Betcoin and they are both 100% exposure to only Betcoin, as well.

He does have some other transactions which came directly from the Binance exchange but the wallet which was used to fund the Killy account and 1 of Zik's deposits was 100% only used for Betcoin.”
 
I explained to ZIK013 that although Betcoin are only assuming this is the case, I think they are not being unreasonable to be suspicious.
 
Resolution:

Given the weaknesses on both sides of the argument I suggested an agreement to allow both parties to get most of what they want. Betcoin to be cleared of the wrong doing that has been alleged, and ZIK013 to be paid out.

ZIK013 made the requested conciliatory public post and was paid his full balance, as it was less than his deposits, and the KillyPG account had all betting cancelled and the total deposits refunded, as the balance was higher than the deposits.

This is in line with SBR policy and fair industry practice and I think was the best solution for both parties in these circumstances.

I hope this helps provide some clarity for the bitcoin betting community.
