1141  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Cloud bitcoin mining with no minimal withdrawal amount [Official Thread] on: July 02, 2018, 12:14:05 PM
While others are "Out of Stock" #minehive bitcoin cloud mining farm (https://minehive.eu) has more than 500 TH/s of mining power to offer just for 70 USD per 1 TH/s!

With your electricity deduction, using S9's, it seems like a zero sum game at the moment.
1142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 38THS 2350 Watts - Asicminer 8 nano compact is working on: July 02, 2018, 11:45:22 AM
From ASGARD website :

Dear customers!

We thank you for your great interest in our miners and for a large number of questions. We are pleased to announce that over the first week since the launch of the online-store, we have sold more than 60 DOUBLE models and 45 ONE.
If you are still thinking about buying, do not hesitate and ask our online support specialists!
Thank you for your trust!

I hope someone from this community got one from that 105 unit , and that person going to clear up things about those miners Wink

They actually claim to have sold 106, including one on E Bay for $500.  Huh
Their on line store wallet shows no transactions, however...
With the big difficulty leap and the weak BTC price, people are getting a bit desperate for the next GenR miners and in danger of thinking uncritically about supposed new machines.
There may well be improved miners being used by their manufactuers prior to general availability, it has probably always been so with ASICs, but Asgard ain't one of them.

LOL. Just checking in.
Almost 4 years later and after 348442 views, apparently this is still a thing.
And this forum is still using the same crappy software.

Some things never change I guess.

Haha yeah, for sure.
We have a new "merit system" tho, please accept a point from me for starting this thread and, you never know, over the years saving some noobs some money that was burning a hole in their pockets.

@lexder100 have you tried to ask them on Telegram? Maybe the communication is faster and better. Good luck! Smiley

I wouldn't hold too much hope, Dias Kurmanov announced that he's off to spend some of that $8m on hookers and blow going to have a well earned vacation and is leaving media contact in the hands of "Misha and Vadim".
If they decide to delete any of my (unanswered) questions, I'll just repost them here.

I also read on Telegram today that the 500 S9's are
Quote
99% ready for shipment
and therefore should be online soon, heating up the cave, not doing much else.

Most times o make a post and it is deleted without any explanation as to why it was deleted. Can someone tell me why posts get deleted when it's not abusive, shout, spam or links?

This holds a promising future. Happy to be part of it

Lovely project. I'm glad to be one of the early adopters

I believe there is a great future for this project

I'd love to see this project success, I'm in

A small selection from your posts which have escaped deletion.
These are referred to as shit posts or spam, they add no value to the discussion and are routinely deleted by moderators under official anti spam policy.
Post when you have something of interest to say, not just for the sake of increasing your post count, probably to get some sats/exposure for your signature (which doesn't work).
Shape up or ship out. (google it)

Which means one of the below
a fuzzy changed it
b fuzzy was hacked password not changed and only that edit was done
c someone that has privileges to edit did it
d fuzzy has sold out.
E something else

I do think hags was sarcastic.

I don’t like that neither of them has posted here.

I think it was obvious sarcasm too. Invisible on the Internet to some people, apparently.

You guys know NFW best, does he usually reply to pm's?
I realize he doesn't know me, does he ignore ppl he doesn't know?

I sent him two headed "ASGARD", no reply, the first one way back, when my "he's not who he says he is" post was deleted and he posted the original 'positive' message.
Strangely 19 minutes after I sent that, he went to the post and edited it into a fucking eulogy, by adding the bolded bit.

<snip>
So far gotta say this looks promising. Aside from being a company no one has heard of before I do not get any red flags yet -- and as folks who know me here will testify that is a VERY rare statement for me to make. edit: This may change of course as more info comes out.

<snip>

And then, after my second message basically asking "WTF?", he added the visible edit, winding his neck in a bit.

And, in the middle of it all, we had that Cloudflare weirdness. (And ironically ended up with Theymos, who allegedly wouldn't know how to plug a miner in, multiple quoting a self modded thread by a [probable] scammer.)
Given the hilarity of it all, my vote from Phillip's list
A weak suggestion for option
E ?
NFW was pissed up when he made the first post. I understand that there's lots of hopes for new toys soon in the mining world and maybe he posted a bit indiscreetly.
Some jumped up "scam buster" pisses him off by pm'ing, out of the blue, with a picture of a guy on a Russian dating site, so he thinks "I'll make it clear I think that's FUD, not a red flag" and edits to "Yey, suckers, I know what I'm talking about." level.
Gets second pm from me and reads the circling vulture posts (thanks QS) and thinks "Oh, fuck I wish I hadn't had that second bottle" and edits yet again, to back peddle.
Currently not daring to come on line for 24 hours (although it is Sunday), thinking "Oooops....how do I get myself out of this?"

Or maybe not.

fwiw, while I was browsing Asgard website yesterday, 'Stefan' initiated JivoChat with me.

Aaah "Stefan", Head of PR Department.
Good looking young man from his picture.
Unfortunately they removed it as well as "Josef Head of Sales" photograph. Maybe they read my post about him not really being "Josef Head of Sales" but a chap from Odessa called Roman, on the Valet.ru. site, before they deleted it.
But actually, they didn't quite delete "Stefan", 'cos if you look closely at the Jivo window there's a thumbnail of him, which searches back to... Valet.ru.

I don't see any physical address (street address) for Asgard Mining?
our office is at Sthlm Business Center Johan Skyttes Väg 200 125 34 Älvsjö
In Stockholm

Is this is where all these people hang out?
Quote
The head office of our company is in Sweden and consists of management, PR department and sales department, lawyer, accountant and finance department.

I'd have thought they would have been listed here then, along with the sixteen other businesses at that address?
But no.
Just moved in, I guess. Or smth.

This guy thinks they are legitimate:

I really like this manufacturer, I mean this must be the most perfect thing ever.
Roll Eyes

I think that might be irony, maybe trying to point out the absurdity of the Asgard claims whilst not getting self modded.
But just my opinion...

1150  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ASGARD Asic miners: vapor staff, vapor ware...? on: June 30, 2018, 09:03:30 PM
Hahaha, I see -ck has posted in the self mod thread

Aside from being a company no one has heard of before I do not get any red flags yet
Except that their efficiency claims are so much better than the current leading edge of technology as to be highly improbable.

Will they delete a moderator's post, one merited by the other mod?  Cheesy
Whatever happens with this particular scam, I would hope it will be a watershed for depriving newbies of self moderation in the future.
1151  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ASGARD Asic miners: vapor staff, vapor ware...? on: June 30, 2018, 06:17:52 PM
It's getting a bit messy (in more ways than one) here, because of the slight red herring regarding the Cloudflare software being triggered.
I don't believe that the ASGARD people have or could have the ability to prevent posts or "block", although they have the ability to delete  and exercise it non stop.
Here's a cross post from Meta to bring that up to date.
I would very much like to understand NotFuzzyWarm's position regarding his endorsement of this ASGARD scheme, but he neither responds to pm's or subsequent posts.

I guess my next question would be, why is NotFuzzyWarm able to post that in the thread? There are a number of red flags with what the OP of the thread is selling, NotFuzzyWarm is giving what is close to an endorsement and those trying to point out red flags are having their posts almost immidiately deleted.

This is correct. I've pm'd him twice to aware him of the red flags but he hasn't responded. I have started a scam accusation thread regarding ASGARD.
Bizarrely, NFW's original post (two versions ago) read

Quote
For a start - wrong area folks! That is hardware - not software... Requested the mods to move this to Mining Speculation for now.

So far gotta say this looks promising.

Went to their site and in Chat asked the all-important question: Can these run on any sha256D pool or is asicboost support required. Answer is they run on ANY sha256d pool. Damn fine start.

Seriously thinking about ordering one to try out/review.

I pm'd him to tell him that the identity mismatch I had noticed and posted about had been self modded.
Very shortly after that he edited the post to include the bolded

That really confused me. Even if he didn't rate the evidence of stolen photos (since deleted) how could it make him even more supportive??

The third edit is the addition of the back pedal phrase

He still has not acknowledged my pm's.
Strange.

I remember LoyceV had this problem I was helping setup his website - I believe it has something to do with your message contents.

Hopefully it's fine by him to quote the line that it happened to him in:

I'd be okay with any subdomain (LoyceVsBasement.domain.com) or LOVE* (domain.com/LoyceVsBasement). As long as I can upload through command line FTP I'm good to go.

* Replace "LOVE" by "directory". Cloudflare blocks me if I type that! I've just reported that to theymos.

In the quoted link, someone else has a problem when they try to type out command prompt (except in the executable file name).

Do you still have/remember the message contents? It could be the same issue where you're trying to type out a blacklisted term on CloudFlare.

Yes, I was attempting to quote (for record) NotFuzzyWarm's post in this thread. Even previewing that quoted post, I got the Blocked notification.
I have since retried by removing each component of the post separately, and still get it.
You have a go.

Edit: Bizarrely NFW has just (04.59:14) edited the post, but it still cannot be quoted without the Block notification appearing at preview stage.
Surely, if the term was blacklisted then it would have been picked up in the original post?
1154  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ASGARD Asic miners: vapor staff, vapor ware...? on: June 30, 2018, 04:53:41 PM

105 sales so far (106 including the E Bay one) claimed. Apart from the E Bay bargain, all 105 presumably bought thru their "online store".
So naturally, when you go to checkout, they provide their address

But

in the next few days we will lay out a detailed video review of our miners. I am sure that after it all your doubts will be divorced.

So, who's posting this?
Josef, or Roman?

Have either of you guys tried posting in the thread since the block message?

I haven't no, I'm not banging my head on a wall.
I'm just going to wreck them instead.

I've asked in Meta about the "block" msg.

Both phillipma1957 and I got this screen when attempting to post (negatively) in a self moderated thread here. Look here for the reasons for the attempted posting.

What's going on? No other page access was affected.

Allowing newbies self moderated threads has got to stop, it's a fucking joke.

The shitcunt deleted two of my posts as well,  I sent a PM to OmegaStarScream with a link to here so hopefully he can warn the Arabic subforum where the scammers other post is!

Did you get a "You are blocked from posting on Bitcointalk.org" page come up?
Both phillipma1957 and I did.
There is something going on here that I don't quite understand.
And it's not good.

Once I get a response from the legendary member that edited his post into a virtual endorsement (after being pm'd by me of my misgivings) I will post further.
I know notfuzzywarm and the post he made on this thread is completely not like him

Logo is a trillium

It wasn't the actual symbol to which I referred, it was the rendering/'shopping appearance of it and their name on the case.
1160  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ASGARD Asic miners: vapor ware, vapor staff... on: June 29, 2018, 09:22:19 PM
There is also this, an E-Bay 'transaction'.
A month old new account, NY based, sells one of their "double" model miners for $500, because E Bay won't let them charge any more than that for it.
Of course, what genius marketing from a multi national company that has just released a product that destroys the current opposition in a sector awash with money looking to be spent!
Sell them one at a time on E Bay at a loss....  Roll Eyes

Have a close look at the logo, too.
