1141  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [8 PH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: January 04, 2016, 10:00:08 PM
New to Kano.is. Jumping ship from Apool with a couple S5's and a u3.
I have one running now on Kano as a test and am using cGminer 4.8.0 that is from Bitmain. Question. Is there a better firmware to be running on S5's while on kano?

thanks in advance,
Donny

I have no idea what version of cgminer is on this last firmware update by bitmaintech for the S5.  I have an S5 but it's not even hooked up.  It's just sitting on a shelf waiting for a power upgrade.  I have all S7's using what power I have available at the moment.  Maybe someone else with an S5 could tell you what version of cgminer is on the latest firmware update from bitmaintech.  Of course, if you haven't already, you can download and upgrade to the the latest firmware upgrade yourself and see what version of cgminer it has.  It can be found here:  https://www.bitmaintech.com/support.htm?pid=00720150101032800325X8cMcY2y068F

Zach, is the one to be thanked for that.  When one gets to a point where they can send him a donation for his time invested, I know he would appreciate it.  Any amount helps.  No pressure, just when one gets to a point where they can donate a little.  I know he would appreciate our generosity just as we appreciate his pool monitor.

Thanks Zach!
Indeed, I have found Zach's pool monitor app quite useful, and a bit of a time-burglar, so I am sending a bit o' ye olde BTC to the Zach-man!

And it's time for me to get some lunch, chicken anyone?

Thanks very much!

I know he would appreciate any amount one can give.

This alerting function for Block discover / workers low hashrate alearting that DMwardjr shows me for Kano pool is so awesome.

I was having problems with my miners months ago and dmwardjr was there to help me with his vast knowledge and nothing to gain from helping me.  So, when he said that he was with CKPool and CKPool was more profitable than other pools he had been with, I made the move with a group of my miners.  Thanks dmwardjr!   You too Kano.

LOL, I don't know NEAR as much as I should about mining.  As I tell others, "The more I learn, the more I find I need to learn."  One of the main reasons I recommend coming to CK/Kano Pool and the Pool forum is for the wealth of knowledge to be gained from many people here in the forum on many aspects of mining, the block chain, bitcoin politics, etc...

Thanks for pointing your rigs here and and supporting the pool!

Much Appreciated!

kudos to dmwardjr for bringing our new mining brothers into the fold.

Well, I know I did not bring all of them here.  Still need to send out more PM's.  I believe a lot of them are here from Slush.

Welcome everyone!  Please remain through to full payout of your 5Nd and stay at least two weeks afterward to get an idea of the potential here at CK/Kano.  I personally do not believe you will regret it.

Spread the word everyone!  Send PM's to people...  Even to complete strangers if you have to.
1146  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: January 04, 2016, 08:46:10 PM
why does pricing for latest S7 batch is lower compare to previous batch?

One reason is less hash rate than most earlier batches and earlier batches did not have the difficulty increase we have now and were not as close to block halving as we are now.
The next reason is we are getting closer to block halving.  Yet, the price of bitcoin is staying pretty much the same.
The final reason is the network difficulty increasing quite a bit continually.

Hence, the note from bitmain on their website:

"The price of bitcoin mining machines must be adjusted frequently according to many factors, including BTC/USD exchange rate, the network difficulty, and expected difficulty increase. Refund requests based on price changes cannot be honored."

Just got a fresh new 4.6 s7 online hashing.
Up 47 minutes only

Congrats,

I know you've waited over the entire Christmas and New Years holiday for it.  I know it was shipped on Dec. 24th.  Or was it Dec. 30?

Day 1 at 5Nd. 1BTC

how much th you got?

Aries is saying they have earned 1 BTC thus far in a period of about 5 days and has reached full payout on 5Nd.  Aries has approximately 50 TH/s pointed at the pool.

ahh ok, i thought he said, the first day on 5nd he got 1 btc for 1 block reward

I know, that's the way it sounds.  I just know Aries has approximately 50 TH/s pointed at the pool.  Which means it's not possible to make 1 BTC with one block.  So, it was only logical to conclude Aries has made 1 BTC as his 5Nd has built up to full 5Nd.

Interesting thanks for posting.  After that lawsuit got posted it seemed to do a complete reverse on how it looked.  Sad as they had a good price.

Reading about lawsuit and some of the post's I think have scared me off sadly.  Guess I will keep looking I would love a good and cheap place 5-6 cent's that I can send some older gear to sometime.  Or it's looking more likely I will just sell off old gear eventually and buy new gear or BTC.  Kinda scary with someone else hosting you gear when reading this.

You might try GreatNorthern Data.  I've heard from another miner they may have similar rates.

Great Job, mlynekse with that 4.72 TH/s!!!

thx !

Itīs the testminer on kano i run against another s7 on slush.

LOL, that was you.  Okay...  I've been following your other thread as well with the 2 x S7's [1 on Slush and 1 on CK/Kano].  Appreciate you doing that for the community to see.  Of course, I'm cheering for CK/Kano to come out on top.
1159  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Pics of Huge Hosting Mine Under Construction, (Dec 2015 Update: We've moved) on: January 04, 2016, 01:11:16 AM
The more I read this thread and the more I hear from others via email and PM's [who had their gear at the old place], the more I realize ASICSPACE is not worth the risk!  DO NOT send your gear [ESPECIALLY ANY SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF GEAR] to them for hosting.  Do not pay any significant amount of money up front either.  The more I hear it's just not worth the risk.

The old place was owned by an HVAC company.  They provided the place and provided most [if not all] of the capital up front to setup the hosting.  It sounds more to me the HVAC owner was tired of putting up with their IRRESPONSIBLE ANTICS and wanted to lock them out of the place.  It sounds like ASICSPACE and the other guy are just young punks who don't give a shit about responsibility and good work ethics.  If you want to take the risk, it's your prerogative.  Don't say you haven't been warned!!!

ASICSPACE and the other guy had a good opportunity to do good for themselves and the community but they mucked it up.  After all I've heard, their ass should be in jail.  If it was me, I would have done my best to get their ass in jail.  They are fortunate some of the others who were screwed from their irresponsible and childish behavior are more forgiving than I am.

It's not worth suing them either because they don't have shit to lose.  Just stay away from them and you'll be alright.

Does anyone know if it is a UPS agent who assigns the HST import codes to packages or if it is a customs agent for the government who assigns the HST import code to packages?

Your customs broker does the entry and at that point they are responsible for entering the correct code when they submit the entry to customs.  That is why you/they need a customs bond (in case they do something wrong the government can go after the money in the bond).

Since UPS acted as your customs broker, they picked the code for the entry they submitted to customs.  No one in the government entered the code.  Neither did Bitmain.

Thanks for that info, dance.  Much appreciated!
