Reminder: The domain name http://einsteinium.org/ is not owned or controlled by The Einsteinium Foundation, or EMC2 - the coin, it is privately owned. EMC2 mgmt has reached out to the owners of http://einsteinium.org/ to ask them to donate the site and domain to the Einsteinium Foundation, or to allow us to manage it however they have not responded to any of our numerous inquires over the past 3 months. On or about Sept. 25th we moved to secured another domain name: EMC2foundation.org, this domain name is owned by the Einsteinium Foundation it will be treated as the official website domain for the Einsteinium Foundation until such time that we secure einsteinium.org. With the official website owned and controlled by the EMC2 community we hope to be more effective. This is a community endeavor, if you have the skills to develop a website I invite you to volunteer some hours to design or create a site page or two. Thanks

Recommendations to the Board with http://www.btc38.com/ communicate, BTC38 is the largest exchange, if EMC2 can shelves BTC38, then it will be a huge success Thanks for your message afeizhai, as you may remember, a couple months ago we conducted a giveaway at the site. In fact, Oldminer and Djnocide contribute lots of time and energy in the preparation of that promotion because we believe as you indicate that BTC38, and the Chinese crypto market in general, would be very good for EMC2. However, the promotion was ineffective. The campaign needed someone to communicate with the site members in words, and terms they understand, the campaign needed you. The board agrees with you -- EMC2 should be on BTC38.com, and we know we need a point person for the endeavor, you need to let me know when you are ready to take the lead on that project. I'll do all I can to provide various levels of support, but this time we need to experience success. With your help we could get EMC2 on BTC38.com. btw, that's a great signature

Einsteinium was created with 3 critical missions in mind:
1) Goodwill Mission 2) Increase Valuation Mission and 3) The Philanthropic Mission
Our Goodwill Mission is to tell everyone in the cryptocurrency world, the scientific world, and the charity world that we are here. Our Increase Valuation Mission is to preserve and increase the public market value of our currency such as to make it an attractive investment opportunity. And, our Philanthropic Mission is to, in some small way, fund scientific research.
This project -- The Havekes Project (named after Dr Havekes), will benefit the grant recipient, but it will also help in the redevelopment of Einsteinium (the coin, foundation, and community).
In an effort to maximize community participation and performance Dr. Havekes has authorized the following graduated incentives:
The foundation guaranteed a minimum of $1M EMC2 equal to ~$500. If the crowd funding campaign received more than 1M EMC2 (~$500) from outside of foundation resource the foundation would be reimbursed for initial deposits. The financial incentives are activated when the campaign reaches $1000:
At level 1 the goal is $1,000 up to $1999, at this level EMC2 will receive 10% of amount raised, this will be used to pay for campaign fees charged by the site and Paypal, campaign perks (if not covered by sponsors), and a stipend to campaign workers for reaching this level of success.
At level 2 the goal is $2,000 up to $4999, at this level EMC2 will receive 15% of amount raised, this will be used to pay for campaign fees charged by the site and Paypal, campaign perks (if not covered by sponsors), and a stipend to campaign workers for reaching this level of success.
At level 3 the goal is $5,000 up to $9999, at this level EMC2 will receive 20% of amount raised, this will be used to pay for campaign fees charged by the site and Paypal, campaign perks (if not covered by sponsors), and a stipend to campaign workers for reaching this level of success.
At level 4 the goal is $10,000 up to $49,999, at this level EMC2 will receive 22% of amount raised, this will be used to pay for campaign fees charged by the site and Paypal, campaign perks (if not covered by sponsors), and a stipend to campaign workers for reaching this level of success.
At level 5 the goal is $50,000 or more EMC2 will receive 25% of amount raised, this will be used to pay for campaign fees charged by the site and Paypal, campaign perks (if not covered by sponsors), and a stipend to campaign workers for reaching this level of success.
The campaign staff for the Havekes project are:
- The Fundraising Committee - to generate funds for the campaign - The Communications Committee - to keep the media well informed - The Marketing Committee - to tell everyone else to support the effort - The Finance committee - to oversee the finances
The amount paid to EMC2 above any reimbursement, site fees, paypal fees, and perks not covered by sponsors, will be allocated as follows: 20% to the chairman of the fundraising committee, 20% to the top producer, 18% to the runner-up, and the balance of incentive funds will be shared equally between the remaining registered paid campaign workers (the remaining members of the Fundraising Committee, the Communications Committee chair, the Marketing Committee chair, and the Treasurer).
The President will oversee all operations and be acting Treasurer, he will appoint the Fundraising Committee Chair, Communications Committee Chair, and the Marketing Committee Chair. All other members of the Fundraising Committee are self-appointed, the roll is open until the close of appointments. Once we start the campaign no new names will be added to the list of paid campaign associates.
Please indicate if you would like to be involved with the campaign and to what extent, everyone will be considered.
Job descriptions will be detailed shortly.
Hello there! Really nice to see this coin alive and kicking again! Im willing to sponsor the crowd funding campaign for The Havekes Project to the extent of 500K EMC2. The first 250k EMC2 part in the name TitanBIT exchange. Second 250k EMC2 part in the name of Knights of Malta. Send me foundation address please. Regards, Saso Mezgec CTO @ TitanBIT.Net Absolutely AMAZING ... WOW!!! You amazed us when you donated 50,000 EMC2 about 2 months ago, setting a donation record. Then you wowed us yet again with another record breaking donation of 200,000 EMC2. Not to mention all of the other donations that provide many resources for the EMC2 community including but not limited to our fantastic block explorer, Rich List, and API. I'm floored yet again with this new record-breaker, 500,000 EMC2 at the very HEIGHT of the market. On behalf of The Havekes Project, The Einsteinium Foundation, and EMC2 (the coin) Thank You.

There's crazy volume on Poloniex right now, and EMC2 is up 120% as of this post time. (over 20 BTC in volume)
We have also broken into the Top 100 Market Cap List Народ! Что с монетой случилось? Откуда такой рост?
I think there are many reasons for the sudden increase, please read the above posts for the past 3 days to get details, but essentially it boils down to the community finally securing a science project to fund. EMC2's mission is to find and fund worth science research projects. And as you will see the funding strategy is constructed in a way that should make everyone proud (and financially happy) to be a part of the project and the EMC2 community. EMC2 endeavors to increase market value by doing good, very good, and really good.

Sponsor Perks: How To Promote Your Coin (or business) While Supporting This CampaignThis message is directed to non-EMC2 coin communities that want to support our effort. We will be launching our crowd funding campaign for The Havekes Project soon, the campaign is designed to include sponsor perks ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5NOAuyPqL4). This is your opportunity to have your logo, short text message, and coin (or business) promoted in our campaign. Here is how it will work: 1) your donated CC will be placed in a native wallet, 2) we will offer the CC as campaign Perks at various donation levels, 3) at the end of the campaign send perks to appropriate donors, and 4) either convert remaining funds fiat to donate to campaign or transfer native funds directly to campaign beneficiary. To participate please post: the name of the coin (or entity), the amount of the donation, a link to your logo, and your short text messages (50 characters). Clearly this is an excellent opportunity to promote your coin or business while supporting the The Havekes Project and The Einsteinium Foundation.

Cryptsy's new rate schedule is likely to scare off traders.
Today I saw a rate of .275 to trade EMC2, it was the first time that I saw the higher rate so I inquired and found the progressives pricing schedule..
I understand how it works, and can sympathize with the logic behind the action, however I believe they are shooting themselves in the foot on that one.
If I see a fee I'm not comfortable with I go away, I don't trade more to get a lower price. Remember, before the price change I was paying .05% to .10% more at other exchanges.
|
|
|
Oh, wow, I just noticed that Cryptsy increased their rates. When did that start? [edit] whooooooooah, the pricing structure is a "minimum" of .25% if the coin is a low volume coin the rate could go as high as .33% see info at: https://www.cryptsy.com/pages/feesFees as of 12/15/2014 Base Market Fees These are the base market fees for buy and sell orders on our markets. Fees vary depending on the Average Day Volume over the last 14 days of a market (in BTC). Markets newer than 14 days will automatically be given best fee rates. Higher fees on lower volume markets will help us maintain them longer without risk of delisting. Avg Daily Volume Fee (Buy & Sell) 0.0 - 0.5 BTC 0.33% 0.5 - 1.0 BTC 0.31% 1.0 - 5.0 BTC 0.29% 5.0 - 20.0 BTC 0.27% 20.0+ BTC 0.25% User Trade Fee Discounts by Trade Volume These are the discounts given to individual users based on their total trade volume of the previous 14 days. Discounts increase as trade volume increases. For example: A verified user with a 14 day total trade volume of over 1000 BTC in a market with an average daily volume of over 20 BTC will pay only 0.10% trade fees (0.25% - 0.15% = 0.10%) 14 Day Trade Volume Verified User Discount Unverified User Discount 0 - 2 BTC 0.005% No discount 2 - 10 BTC 0.010% 0.005% 10 - 100 BTC 0.020% 0.010% 100 - 300 BTC 0.050% 0.025% 300 - 1000 BTC 0.100% 0.050% 1000+ BTC 0.150% 0.075% Market Maker Rebates Cryptsy has changed the way we classify a market maker. Market maker rebates are no longer automatic. Users who wish to be classified as market makers can contact our support team. We will evaluate requests on a case-by-case basis. Balance Rebates Balance rebates are offered to our verified users only. If you are a verified user, then you are automatically enrolled. What Are Balance Rebates? Balance rebates are a cut of our collected trade fees for users who hold balances in certain currencies on our exchange. Currently the currencies we collect fees on are BTC, LTC, XRP, and USD. Verified users who have a balance in these currencies will be included in the pool of users who get a daily rebate in the same currency. How Much Will I Earn in Balance Rebates? We pay a 2% rebate. Balance calculations include available and held for order balances. So even if all your funds are held for open orders, they are included in the calculation. So for example: We collect 10 BTC in trade fees in a day. This leaves 0.2 BTC available for rebates (2%). If you had 100 BTC on account and between all users the sum of all balances of verified users was 5,000 BTC, then you would receive 2% of the total rebate for that day. In this case that would be a 0.004 BTC daily rebate. Balances and rebates are calculated and distributed separately for each of the BTC, LTC, XRP, and USD currencies.

On Nov. 20th The Einsteinium Foundation was presented with an opportunity to fund the following science research project: http://www.neuroscientistnews.com/research-news/memory-problems-caused-sleep-deprivation-preventedhttps://www.dropbox.com/sh/grv2is4anmajn4d/AAAu-6uCJ4QanyQL89mq4Q5ca?dl=0After a cursory examination of the facts I commissioned a Vetting Committee to determine if the project was a good fit for the foundation. Yesterday the board received a favorable recommendation from the chairman of the committee, recommendation indicated in part: "After much deliberation and research into our potential science project funding, I am officially recommending the following: R.Havekes, Ph.D. University of Pennsylvania Department of Biology Research Associate, Ted Abel laboratory Smilow Center for Translational Research 10th Floor, Room 171 3400 Civic Center Blvd Bldg 421 Philadelphia, PA 19104-5158 ... Some of Robbert's work:http://www.upenn.edu/pennnews/news/penn-led-team-prevents-memory-problems-caused-sleep-deprivation" The matter is now before the board for final consideration, we will address the following: 1) Does the project received board approval? 2) If so, what is the minimum amount of the award? and 3) Do we offer crowd funding resources? Not up for consideration: 1) if the project is approved, and if crowd funding is not selected, the grant will be paid with EMC2 currency, and 2) if the project is approved, no request will be made to the EMC2 community for additional funds of any kind, Crowd Funding I believe crowd funding is a great resource for EMC2, and I believe it can make the difference between a good grant and a great grant however I also know how much work goes into a good campaign. If the board approves the project and authorizes crowd funding, and if the applicant agrees with the terms of the crowd funding campaign the project stands a great chance of receiving more funds than the applicant targeted, as well as more funds than we otherwise could afford. If we crowd fund projects it will provide a great level of exposure (with positive impressions) for EMC2, the project, and the applicant as well. I know how difficult it is to get volunteers so I will create reasonable and responsible financial incentives that will kick-in at specific success levels of campaign.

Inkha and MadGhost you are both invited to help us find worthy scientific causes to fund. It could be as small as sponsorship of a youtube channel that focuses on science, or science fairs, or cutting-edge science research.
If you think someone is deserving, tell them to contact us, or you give us their info and we'll contact them.

I may have stirred a hornet's nest with Poloniex spontaneous give away after finding 36 clams in my old btc/ltc/doge wallets ... CLAMS! If you had any balance in DOGE, LTC or BTC Wallets on the 12th May 2014, make sure you download the wallet and do File>Import - Wallet.dat of either of the 3 wallets and you will receive 4.6 clams for each address or something. I got 36clams .. 0.3 btc and bought EMC2 and pretty much gave it all away Wow, that was some serious magic you performed over there. Congrats. [edit] here it is many hours later and I see you have single-highhandedly managed to do an EMC2 giveaway campaign at Poloniex, your campaign was effectively BETTER than the official campaign issued a few months ago. When I peeked my head in, I noticed the mod trying to interrupt your momentum, which of course only highlighted and provided a deserved sense of urgency on the matter. Your promo was pure perfection, EMC2 received visual impressions, meaningful inquires were fielded, lots of trades resulted, and most of all EMC2 market pricing got a boost -- truly amazing. Again, congratulations. [i TIP MY HAT TO YOU SIR] If there is any way to get the transcript to that chat session (during the whole promo) it would serve as an excellent case study in guerrilla marketing, especially because it was unplanned.

I've introduced the following program to the board for discussion and subsequent vote. Please feel free to discuss if you wish:
The Investment Loyalty Program
The Investment Loyalty Program is a plan that will reward engaged EMC2 holders, it will be funded by the mining tax only in the absence of a project to fund in that particular month.
Here is how the Investment Loyalty Program works. To qualify for reward:
1) you must register an EMC2 address by the 10th of the month, 2) only the top 100 registered addresses are eligible, 3) you must maintain (no withdrawals) those funds in the account until the 10th of the following month. 4) only one address per BCT username
The Investment Loyalty Program is funded by the mining tax, it is ONLY used in the absence of a particular project to fund; as such, most of the time there will be no Investment Loyalty Program reward. In the months where there is a reward it will be conducted as follows: of the properly registered accounts (10th of the previous month) on the 10th of the following month, the top 100 account values will receive a proportionate amount of the available funds. Payout will begin on the 15th of the month. Any withdrawal made from any registered address disqualifies said address for any reward for the target period.
This program is meant to reward engaged holding.
[Please discuss]
I do not fully understand the meaning of "engaged holding". Thanks for the question, 'engaged holding' means an addresses reported to us [engaged], no withdrawals from the address [hold]. This differs from ordinary holdings where there might be substantial savings but some withdrawals, and also from holdings that are unreported. I want to encourage serious investment, that means bigger buys and longer holds.

A major part of my vision for EMC2 is to enlarge our community by creating meaningful relationships with other coin communities. To that end the Intercoin committee was formed. The goal for the Intercoin committee is to find ways to enable various coin communities, particularly cause-coins, to get stronger individually though shared resources and strategic combining of efforts.
The EMC2 Intercoin Committee membership is:
Armis - (committee chairman) representing Einsteinium coin Gravitate - representing WorldAidCoin FoldingCoin - representing FoldingCoin BitcoinNational - representing UNO coin and ivanlabrie - representing CHILD coin
This committee is accepting membership requests from leaders of all coins not yet represented.
