1161  Economy / Scam Accusations / ASGARD Asic miners: vapor staff, vapor ware...? on: June 29, 2018, 06:33:40 PM
A "new manufacturer" of super efficient (23 TH/s-1185 w) ASIC bitcoin mining machines popped up with a one post newbie account today here and a self moderated thread.

A quick look at their website "about us" revealed a strange anomaly, in as much as at least one of their core staff is not who he is said to be.

They deleted the post where I pointed this out, so, being a man of my word....

1162  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: The Squeeze is comin! [official thread for panicking] on: June 29, 2018, 04:25:39 PM
Man, I friggin' hate futures trading and all that. I come from a century of farmers and that kind of BS has ruined the industry.

Ironically, futures contracts were originally of great help to producers of essentials (minerals, food etc.) in planning investment and locking in profitability but, like so many legacy systems, they have mutated into just another tool for the financial establishment to exploit for self serving ends.
1163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Multi-level marketing with earnings in BTC by the real-time BTC/USD currency on: June 29, 2018, 11:34:30 AM
Multi Level Marketing (MLM) is an outmoded, expensive and irrelevant pyramid structure based on hyping invariably sub standard or non existent products, invented and promoted by scammers.
The proliferation of non core schemes like the one referred to, the "marketing of marketing", shows the bankruptcy of vision and thought currently afflicting crypto. Imo.
1164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mine and earn bitcoin by using google chrome on: June 29, 2018, 10:00:03 AM
This is a bullshit, referral oriented, high withdrawal XMR based scheme adequately covered already here.
1165  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ICE ROCK MINING - SCAM!!! on: June 29, 2018, 09:48:09 AM
Hello,

I fully understand your reactions.

To my opinion, they are not scammers and have a good sense of honor....But they started this project with a huge lack of experience and not at the right time at all.

I anyway believe in this project (long term view) because it's true that energy in KZK is extremely cheap and because the premise is great.

It's hard to find better conditions for mining...

Let's see! That's the game...as long as they are working on the project you can't say they are scammers.

Marcel

This is a reasonable, if generous, point of view to a certain extent.
However their "sense of honor" didn't extend to amending the "theoretically possible in freak conditions" ROI claims that they were continuing to make while the ICO funding was going on, despite them being wildly optimistic and misleading. Caveat Emptor, I guess.

There is no knowing how long this high difficulty/low price scenario will extend for and, whilst IR have no choice but to small scale mine with virtually unprofitable S9's, the ROCK token holders will receive dust payments, if any.

Ice Rock have now all but abandoned their media contact with investors and refuse to be honest about the ROI situation, so not much "honor" there either.

They still found time to delete this factual post tho

We will not change our business model.

How are you going to pay your maintenance and electricity bills if you don't? 20% is not enough given the real world situation now prevailing.
Is your business plan "hope that the BTC price goes up"?

Anyway, you have already changed your business model, your white paper is part of it and the road map says quite clearly

June 1st: purchase of equipment

It doesn't say

Buy nothing on June 1st then, 10 days after the road map deadline, decide to have a vote (!!) about what mining equipment should be bought, if any

But not enough time to answer this one

how much would 10,000 rock2 return when bitcoin is at 10,000kusd? any way to tell? its going to be pretty much like 70-120 a day im thinking
or 50-80 usd a day
...

When Bitcoin first hit $10k (Dec '17) the difficulty was 1,347,001,430,558, with 9,642 PH/s hashing.
These have both increased by a factor of ~4 in the last seven months.
Before operating costs, now 1 TH/s would gross ~$15 per month at current difficulty if the price was $10000, whereas at Dec's lower difficulty that would have been ~$57.
It is extremely unlikely that we will see December level profitability again, certainly in the near future. That anomalous (freak) rate of return was what IR decided to use as typical for the future, with their 357% etc. ROI nonsense.
How much each token will receive depends on how much hashrate output is allocated to it, which in turn depends on how many miners are being deployed. With the small amount of mining actually being currently done, any ROI per token will be minimal.

As I pointed out in a previous post (not deleted yet), there is also the question of the 20% operating cost allocation.
Whilst miners that consume more than 20% of their output in operating costs (like the S9's do now and will probably continue to do so) are being used, it must be asked, "Where is the extra money coming from to pay the bills, from what account?"
There are three possible options:
1)From the 20% re-investment allocation
2)From the 50% profit distribution
3)From the Ice Rock 10% retention

If they choose 1) or 2), then they are effectively using (your) previous invested money to pay (you) dividends, which is a classic definition of a P*nzi Scheme.

Meanwhile ROCK2 tokens are trading around $0.26, bounty tokens and commission payments are delayed....

I agree. The funds and coins needed for their plans are inadequate unless they are for sale or for sale.

I'm guessing for sale. Let's see what others think.

No, I'm quite sure they're for sale.

They might be, I'm not sure.

I'll give you a clue what one of them was for: You keep doing it in this thread hence why your post are getting deleted.  And I'll say it again: read the rules, you know, the ones you we're previously banned multiple times for breaking.

I know the answer to that and I'm pretty sure I'm not Gleb.

I certainly had an elevated level of trust with the Gleb account (and others Bruno controls), and if "bigmelons25" would have contacted me the day after potentially purchasing the Gleb account and asked for help, a loan, etc. without a hint of changing hands, I may not have thought twice.

To know that you are willing to give that away to a brand new user, bigmelons25 (or known scammer for all I know) for a few hundred bucks is, to say the least, disappointing. You offered the e-mail & password to bigmelons25, seemingly to completely avoid detection... the whole thing just seems like a pretty lame and petty thing to do.

This ^^^ unfortunately, is a valid point.
1171  Economy / Reputation / Re: nullius - Where are they now? on: June 25, 2018, 12:45:25 PM
Yeah, nullius.....

Highly literate posts, both technical and no so but, for me, the alia nexus is most/mildly intriguing.
The nullius account started posting Dec 2017, but really burst into activity in January when the alia account turned up.

They were everywhere for February, the Brangelina of BCT, until alia/she/it/he hubris-combusted and the nullius account stopped posting a few weeks later.
I still reckon it was Craig Wright, or someone who thought they were him.

1174  Other / Meta / Re: SPAMBOT hunting: report spambot promoted threads on: June 20, 2018, 08:55:52 PM
This shit is everywhere, to the point where I blank it out when catching up, otherwise I end up reporting, not reading.
Back when I was a more trigger happy reporter, I think I single-handedly reduced a thread by about twelve pages of "word salad".

It would help if the Moderators nuked more of these accounts with post histories of complete nonsense (quite a number of them registered early June), especially when the report points out their overall lack of quality.
But they don't seem to, mostly only deleting the one post reported and leaving them to spam again, e.g. from the infamous Arbitao thread, I reported this user for two nonsense posts, with a request for nuking. The two posts are gone, but the shit poster's still live.
1175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔴🚀🔵[ANN][ICO]🔵 COINECT - AI-Based Decentralized Arbitrage Trading System🔴🚀 on: June 20, 2018, 12:16:45 PM
Oh FFS... how many arbitrage scams do we really need?

This is Groundhog Day territory.
Coinect makes Arbitao believable. Well, not quite.

I mean, come on, do you expect anyone to believe this?
Everyone knows that Linkedin profiles mean absolutely Jack Shit, but at least you could have put a bit of effort in.

Hands up, anyone who thinks Dominic Hall exists.
Anyone who puts their hand up, walk away from the computer and don't come back.

Dear tmfp,

Arbitrage is a 300 years old method of speculation. No need to find belivers.

Everyone MUST have a FB, Twitter, Linked in? What about decentralization? Its a point that we are all here!

What you wanna to hear? Of course we make a Linkedin because of its a  standart of icos. Did you heard something about "no FB europe?"   action?  Half business companies block linkedin because of headhunters.

Or we must open all my private social media?

Ohhh...

We show a REAL results how our system works. 90 % of ico start crowdfunding only for idea. We are already have a working (prototype) module.

1)It's not arbitrage that's unbelievable, it's you.
2)Decentralization has nothing to do with creating false profiles on Linkedin, or in other media, in order to deceive potential investors.
3) You don't show anything real. Apart from a screenshot of a commercially available arbitrage script, and a lot of words, all you provide is this chart of supposed profitability.

The time axis is the year 2017. This implies that you must have had a working "unique decentralized trading system" for at least eighteen months, yet you say
Quote
Our product is still raw, still in prototype stage

The key to arbitrage is market volatility. In times of low volatility, you pick up dimes, in high volatility, dollars.
As volatility changes, so the software used (should) also change its parameters appropriately, so that potential profit margin increase because of differential increase can be fully exploited.
Why have capital margin deposits tied up on say 0.5% opportunities, when much larger differentials are available?
Compare your chart to a chart of Bitcoin volatility during the same period.

Zero correlation

One or two skeptics are currently ah 'interacting' with Coinect on their ANN thread.

Yeah, double trolled as he's wearing an Arbitao (totes legit, no scam, they said so) badge.

Well, that escalated quickly... see post by @marlboroza!?!

Haha, yes, I've been vaguely aware of mday's predilection for referral/pyramid/marketing shit, I assumed he was attracted to Arbitao by their three level scheme.
(Another big red flag for Arbitao btw, esp. as they maintain that paying up to 18% affiliate commissions on income is "cheaper" than conventional marketing. All it means in practice is they'll attract the MLM/referral industry downline machines with names like DreamTeam and MoneyMakers, like flies round shit. And the guy down the pub/shoeshine boy will say to you something like "You know about that there crypto stuff, dontcha? I just put my savings in a sure winner, Arbi something...")
