1165  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Moving bitcoins from one wallet to another Bitcoin Core on: October 18, 2016, 12:44:16 PM
Hi,

I have a few coins on old Mac with an old version of Bitcoin Core, this can no longer sync and the Mac has run out of space!

I have a newer Mac with the latest Bitcoin core which is currently syncing with the network and downloading the blockchain (only a year to go!)

I want to safely move coins from the old Mac to the new Mac.

What is my safest route?

1. Simply send the coins from the old mac to the new Mac by sending coins to the new wallet - but the old blockchain is very out of date and I can't clear enough space to allow it to catch up.
2. Copy the wallet.dat file from the old mac to the new mac - is it ok to do this regardless of the different versions of the Bitcoin Core wallet? e.g. can I take a wallet from a 0.10 client and use it in a 0.13 client? Has the format of the wallet remained the same?

Thanks.

Well I think due to the increase in price, you are going to buy more bitcoins and I have got around 25 usd bitcoin for you. Let me know if you can do perfectmoney for it. If you can do international fund transfer then let me know.

I can send you MoneyGram or Western Union.

Where are you based? I buy a lot of Bitcoin and am looking for regular suppliers.

localbitcoins?

Hi, I have used localbitcoins before also.
However I am after something different - person to person trade cash for coins - no middlemen, no website taking commission either.
I've been trading like this since 2013 - many people prefer it.
1169  Economy / Currency exchange / Buying BTC for cash or bank transfer in London / Oxford / UK, looking for 10 BTC on: October 03, 2016, 01:02:25 PM
Hi,

I am looking to buy larger amounts of BTC - between 5 and 10 BTC for Cash or Bank transfer. Would consider a bulk purchase of 20 BTC.

Some of you will have traded before with me. Those who have not please check my older threads, I have been trading since 2013 and have a 100% record.

I can meet in person in central London to do the trade. Cash for coins. I am looking for a discounted rate for a large purchase. I am buying at preev.com -10%

PM me if interested.

Thanks

1170  Economy / Services / Re: Pokemon Go Trainer for hire in London! 0.1 BTC per hour! Catch 'em all! on: July 14, 2016, 04:20:00 PM
Well,

I can see by the reaction of people that this seems unfair / overpriced etc.

I've been on these forums for about 3 years and have offered various services over the years:

- flowers for Bitcoin - I offered to get a bouquet delivered anywhere in the world for 0.1 BTC (back in the day it was for about 1 BTC! LOL)

- Will be your friend for a week for 1 BTC - and yes someone did actually buy that service - he paid me 1 BTC and I was his best friend for a week - emails / SMS / chats etc.

- Hugs for BTC ( non-sexual) - this one wasn't so popular.

This is no different that people paying real money (or BTC) for Warcraft Gold - and that has been going on for many many years.

There you go then! I will be willing to negotiate my hourly rate for Pokemon catching if anyone is interested. Oh - and the "Be your friend for Bitcoin" offer is also still open. :-)

There is an element of danger whilst catching Pokemon in London.

Its not entirely 'safe' - hence the rate - it includes danger money! :-)

1180  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling BTC for Paypal at BTC exchange rate + 20% on: May 06, 2015, 03:26:15 PM
I'm a little confused.... why such a huge markup? 20% ?

Why would anyone pay 20% on top of the exchange price when they can get it at spot price from btc-e for example?
