Also I thought this would need a ANN in the alts? As this is where you may attract a bit more capital.
1162  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] B&C Exchange – A decentralized exchange that can earn you Bitcoin! on: April 30, 2015, 01:47:35 AM
I dont quite follow/grok this offer mechanism

am I biding for nushare that then some how (my priv key of something) allows me control of my blockshares

if I bid for a block share and I out bid some one we can still both get the blockshare if the person who I outbidded outbidded another person and there were blockshares left.....

so some people could massively pay more than others for blockshares....

is this right?
1163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you waiting for the collapse of the fiat system to trigger BTC adoption? on: April 28, 2015, 11:54:00 AM
Or are you waiting for bitcoin to gradually become popular alongside fiat?

What are you waiting for?

The fiat system is never going to collapse. It is backed fully by the most power military forces on earth. The printing presses will never run out of ink.

Bitcoin will almost surely remain a tiny sliver of the global economy. It has no central power to promote, protect, and advance its cause. I think the more likely scenario is that fiat will take on more of Bitcoin's digital characteristics over time and perhaps also grow in transparency.

I think it does have some strong central gov powers driving it. Every suboptimal fiat decsion govs make can now to be some extent arbitraged into BTC value
1164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you waiting for the collapse of the fiat system to trigger BTC adoption? on: April 28, 2015, 11:48:47 AM
Bitcoin adoption I feel will have a few different drivers, and it will come I feel much like computers then smart phones, and the net itself it was an evolution and suddenly its ubiquitous.

What will be needed on the way is

Killer app
Killer hardware provably safe platform to use btc (eg cant be injected with software or hardware errors at fab level)
some evolution in BTC tech, to scale or make tx faster, eg, side chains or whatever
a few large countries defaulting on debt
hyperinflation is a few other countries

I feel that all of these are inevitable within a 10 year horizon

1166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is just to complicated for the average person to use.. on: April 10, 2015, 03:02:57 PM
the difference between the internet and bitcoin is nobody ever stole 3/4 of a million internets ...

That's right, Bitcoin is not very hard to use, any internet user can figure it out in minutes but keeping the funds secure might be little difficult for some people as hackers are finding newer ways of breaching in computers.

this.

the funds secure side, need some killer hardware and app.

A sort of verifiable hardware so you can check for hardcoded backdoors in USBs etc and eay to use software UI that is very hard to crack. This is an integral part.

1168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whatever happened to eMunie? on: April 07, 2015, 06:15:09 AM
I invested in emunie way way back....and Dan has be ok so far as I can tell.

You have to cast the investment strategy wide I say. So one dev doesn't want pressure on his Dev. That Ok rather than headless chicken running around and then bug stop for ever and a day.

hey cfb how bout some help rather than a flame fest ur at least smart enough

What help do you need? I did some review of NEM security, now I'm testing other attack vectors.

I cant login to my account, say the name exists and I can see the coins on the address and I have the password (use a password storae system and checked in the redemption phase, as I had to use it there) and I have the privkey

the password is apparently wrong

so how can I use the priv key, when I try to enter the priv key in the import account function to a new account it is still asking for password so how can I just try the private key by itself?

So

I can see my XEM on the block explorer and have tried to use my password but it wont let be login says not found account

I copied the the password down in triplicate and used it in the verification stage all ok.

I then made a new wallet and tried to import using private key but it stills asks for the password

(i have my private key)

so what do I do?

so I have tried to istall the latest client ans it keep asking for 1.8 Java

I have installed java "8" several times now to try an fix that and restarted. No dice.

any help apreciated
Do you mean that the NEM installer doesn't work? You need 64 bit Java for that.

do you have a 32 bit windows?

did you try the stand alone by chance?

http://blog.nem.io/windows-installation-guide-standalone/

also, please try this

http://blog.nem.io/how-to-remove-old-nem-software-versions/

yeah I am running 32 bit is a VM.

the old nem started up fine....but this version needs 64 bit?

1179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Starting an Australian BTC party. on: March 13, 2015, 04:21:36 AM
Single theme parties are quite common in Oz and get elected reps in.

The thing is you have to be a party to realistically get elected because of the the voting system, above the line or below, eg the party get to to be put above the line, or you have to fill in 1~100 people in without mistake.

The strength can lay in preferences even if you don't get elected.

Double taxation of BTC would be one issue.

1180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Starting an Australian BTC party. on: March 11, 2015, 07:59:18 AM
I propose starting a Political party for Bitcoin in Australia.

We could field a candidate for the Federal Senate, and perhaps some State elections.

To be registered as a political party we need 500 persons signed on who are on the electoral roll, a constitution and a few other things.

Opening the floor to ideas/merits discussion on policy etc.
