The windows binary on https://www.darkcoin.io/getstarted.html is the updated version, 0.9.4.11

Has anyone got it to fully sync and match with http://explorer.darkcoin.io/chain/DarkCoin ?

Mine is still (slowly) syncing 14 weeks left

Is it true that multiples of 1000 DRK increase the chance of masternode election for one node?

No, not true.  If you had multiples of 1000 DRK, it's far better to run multiple nodes.

In RC3 Multiple entry Masternodes are coming (Evan said it in IRC) so you'll be able to put 4000 DRK (aka close to 60 000$) on a 4x payout Masternode if you feel like it and get an increased chance of payout instead of having to set up multiple nodes which could clutter up the network.

Wow, so cool.

I hope my problems receiving a few DRK deposits at Cryptsy can be resolved. I had fully read the thread up until about a week ago, before the explosion of people posting about what the price was doing, where they thought it would go and how insignificant Litecoin is. I stopped reading and the masternodes payment fork slipped my mind. I think either Cryptsy or BTER (or both) are on the wrong fork and I'm still waiting on 3 deposits. It should have been a great day for trading, now I'm sceptical about sending DRK between any of the exchanges.

Moaning aside, congratulations to those who received their first masternode payments today!

Yes it is possible they are on the wrong fork, to know for sure see which explorer it showed up on:

http://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/ - wrong fork
http://explorer.darkcoin.io/chain/DarkCoin - correct fork

I would say that they need to change the OP then, and put a list of prospective (meaning the site has mentioned the coin) sites that might trade it, I dont see any reason that they would avoid it for trade due to the anon nature of it, though the super node thing might be something that is holding them back from doing it till they can work out how they can implement it.

I'm sure it was an honest mistake.
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 26, 2014, 01:02:31 AM
I would have a problem trusting any coin that claims it is listed on an exchange it is not, like the way this one is claiming to be on BTC38, I have an account and actively trade on there, so there so this was something I checked right away, as I am looking for other coins to mine than doge and mec, that I can trade on there directly.

**edit, just to note, I am wanting to know why it was said to be listed, mistake or not, I am not tossing an accusation here that anyone outright lied, just that the information is incorrect as far as I can see (the link takes you to the bitcoin listings for trade and not dark) or if there is some anticipatory reason for listing it, as they maybe have an inside track on it getting listed there??

They actually had an article up and everything and just haven't enabled trading for some reason, it's weird.

I bet that will change in the next couple days.  DRK is #3 in crypto now - they can't ignore it forever.

Is it true that multiples of 1000 DRK increase the chance of masternode election for one node?

No, but you can set up multiple masternodes and increase your payout that way.

Please update ASAP!

Some bad masternodes set off a chain reaction which forked the network
into many smaller forks. To ensure you're on the correct fork please
update your daemon and run with the command "-reindex". It may take a
bit to reindex, but you'll be on the correct fork.

So I have been thinking about Monero vs Darkcoin a lot recently.  Monero seems to have increased anonymity from what I can tell - but DRK has a very specific advantage that so far I have not heard anyone mention - Proof of Payment.

For example:

Say I  send coins to an exchange and they don't show up for hours (I'm looking at you cryptsy), what I do is send them a link to the blockchain to prove payment was made, and they credit my account, as this is indisputable proof that payment was made. Without that link they could potentially claim they never received the coins and that would be the end of it.  With monero you have no proof that payment was ever made - so the receiver could potentially claim to never have received coins and you would have no way to prove coins were sent.  Another example would be moving coins from exchange A to exchange B, if the coins never arrive at exchange B - with Monero it would be impossible to determine whether exchange A did not send them, or exchange B is pretending not to have received them.  I personally think this gives DRK an important advantage over ring singnatures (monero, bytecoin).  I don't know enough about zerocoin to know if it has this "Proof of Payment" or not.

Are minergate withdrawals broken for anyone else?  Also am trying to withdraw from poloniex with no success. :/

I would be very interested in that 717 BTC order... vanished... but where is it gone?

He is buying up the price on cryptsy right now I bet.  The mintpal price has been lagging behind cryptsy.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 18, 2014, 08:35:46 PM
Just a thought, if you hold 1000's of DRK in an exchange whats stopping the exchange from masternoding, even on a shortterm basis?

I imagine nothing.

But that would be no different from a bank deploying your cash somewhere else while you're not using it.

Actually, that's a good point. The exchanges could rake it in using this approach. Maybe that's half the plan  Shocked

If they were to do that tbh I would have no objections

I assume they already do this with POS coins.
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 18, 2014, 07:20:36 PM
...And then I panic-sold again with the rest of the sheeps while preparing my morning coffee, thinking I shouldn't have done that panic-buy from the bed. And then I started to realize I completely got out of control but I was still a little fuzzy, so I tried to buy back slowly as much as I could but that 700 BTC mocking on Cryptsy didn't help. So I ended up with ~850

...

Holy shit, when was this?
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: May 18, 2014, 07:11:16 PM
Quick question regarding p2phash.com:7309 (a p2p pool). The pool has reported 2 blocks found when I've been mining it for the past 45 minutes but I'm not seeing any payouts. When I click any of the links on the solved block hashes they state cannot be found. Before I keep mining does anyone know the pool is alive/legit?

It is possible this p2pool node is on a wrong fork, check the block that was solved, make sure it matches http://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/

It's also possible you are using an old version of the wallet and you are the one on the wrong fork, make sure you are using the newest wallet version.

I started thinking of an elaborate way to communicate. Send binary messages in transactions of duffs, etc.

Then I realised.. They are reading this already.
