not sure I understand this.

As a miner must I check what pools are licensed?
I don't think so.  It would be provable that the sats sent to you were proceeds from newly minted block rewards - I can't see how they could possibly imply money laundering in this case.

BTC sent to hashers is a product of block rewards and fees that might be paid by money launderers... Arguably miners are facilitating the money-laundered derived transactions.

~snip

Block rewards don't exist until mined and as for the fees, the on-boarding with fiat is already FINCEN'd which is why there are no non-KYC exchanges dealing in US currency and also why they're seeking a jail term for ChangPeng Zhao.  Going after miners to prevent money-laundering would be a duplication of efforts and while the US gov't (or any gov't is not above wasting money and duplicating efforts it's more often than not for political rather than criminal reasons ie healthcare, education, taxation.  Anyway, there is documentation on virtual currency mining and it always points back to this document:

https://www.fincen.gov/resources/statutes-regulations/administrative-rulings/application-fincens-regulations-virtual-0

There's a phone number at the bottom philipma1057 can call directly for proper advice rather than relying on my (likely flawed) interpretation.

It's always political manipulations sold as criminal protection.

But what about the children!?!?!?

Wow, UK's a real shit place huh?

UK law enforcement will be able to destroy a crypto asset if returning it to circulation is not conducive to the public good. Privacy coins, for example, are a form of cryptocurrency that grant an extremely high degree of anonymity and are often used for money laundering.

I guess when they "destroy a crypto asset" they will burn it / destroy the keys... and thereby enrich all other holders... yeah... great idea

Nothing wrong with making my coins worth more except the wording allows them to destroy peoples wealth whether they are guilty or not.

They are planning to unban Bitcoin with the only intention to ban it next day. Because "China bans Bitcoin" is the worst disaster which can happen in Bitcoin world.  Grin

Falcons GM Suggests Michael Penix Jr. Could Sit '4 or 5 Years' Behind Kirk Cousins

The Falcons pulled off the biggest stunner of the 2024 NFL draft so far, selecting Penix with the No. 8 pick. The move came roughly a month-and-a-half after they signed QB Kirk Cousins to a massive four-year, $180 million contract.

In '4 or 5 Years' Michael Penix Jr. will be 28+ years old.  Cheesy

I imagine NFL owners can't fire their general managers during the draft, right? It hasn't happened before? I mean, drafting an injury-prone quarterback in the first round after signing Cousins to a $100 mill guaranteed contract is completely insane, beyond the realm of brain dead.

Six quarterbacks selected in the top 12 screams desperation, and it's not like this year's QB class is anything special outside of Caleb Williams.

"4 or 5 Years" is just him being diplomatic, they will be lucky to get 3 good years out of cousins before age takes him down and a few years behind a QB like cousins will give them a Franchise QB for the forseeable future so it looks like a great move to me.

All these tard coaches that run out a rookie QB from the draft are killing the qb's as well as the teams chances for years to come.

Greenbay does it right and the other teams need to learn from them rather than saying they keep getting "Lucky".

I've not bought paper in a while, if it were only priced in dollars, so about $1,000,000.00 I just would have thought inflation was just bad.

But 16BTC seems a bit much for a bit of paper and some writing on it.

Well, if people buy NFT's, they will buy paper with scribbles on it.  Roll Eyes  Still not as bad as buying a Pizza for 10.000 BTC, if you ask me.

Same BS! they do at car auctions, owners and a couple of their mates bid on their own cars and pump up the price.... but hey let's continue with the fake narrative, and pretend that this BS! is really genuine and real. 🤡

could well be a fake action like the NFT guys do it all the time

I think the 3 options for the PAT make the games a little more exciting as it adds in a new element of strategy not possible in the NFL. Games can suddenly become a lot closer, leads can change more quickly, and what seem like easy wins can easily be blown by going for the additional point(s). Gonna make an attempt to watch a full game for the first time tomorrow.

4th and 12 adds a real chance to come from behind!

NFL experts in this thread, how can we make money from this? Please share your best bets heheheheh.

Bet on the Chiefs.  Cheesy

Man I really tried to give the whole UFL thing a go but the games are just at highly inconvenient times and without recognizing any of the players, I just haven't managed to get into it yet. To its credit, its a lot more like the NFL than I had imagined; none of that wacky XFL stuff. Just a few new rules to move the game along faster & reduce chances of injury. Still better than college tho, IMO.

Biggest issue afaic is the multiple networks they have the games on, its a major fucking pita to get all the games, its almost like they don't want people to follow the league.

And yes agreed its way better than college which it is directly competing with.

I personally hate college because the players are basically slaves.

What Blank didn't say was that he and his top lieutenants had voted on the team's next head coach, ranking each candidate.

Bill Belichick didn't even finish in anyone's top three.

Good, he needs to sit for awhile and look in the mirror.

I have been disgusted with his hiring decisions and player choices the last few years and it was obvious he has drank his own koolaid and decided to rather admit he's made mistakes he continues to keep doubling down on bad players (which he is over paying massively) when he has better options.

Yeah, about 1 year ago, I probably would have considered around $45k to be a reasonable pre-halvening price.. so yeah, maybe anywhere between $40k and $55k......

I've never considered anything below the ATH to be a reasonable price (to sell) anywhere near a halvening and anything less is a bargain.
