Glad you were able to get a response from loljosh. I tried contacting him weeks ago and was ignored, so I moved on to someone else for the project I'm involved with.
Hi Worth, good to here from you. Yeah, josh all but scolded me for posting that here, but I explained to him that I wasn't trying to make him look like a scammer and that I thought it was important to tell it like it easy. Keeps things going in the direction they need to be going in when dealing with time and money, ya know? I have a serious suggestion for you about some specific changes you really should implement in an update that will add a LOT of value to the project, while making it much more appealing to the Native American community. PM me if you'd like details.
Ok, I've been super busy, as usual, and I'll shoot you a PM soon. I am sorry mate if I missed/didn't reply any of your messages. I get many messages here so it's difficult to reply them all. You can contact me directly via Skype in future.
See! See how good a little chit-chat can be? Now someone else knows that they weren't being ignored. Something good came out of my post. Just to be clear, it wasn't my intent to accuse Josh of being a scammer, either.

What block is it on now? mine seems stuck at 8769?
I am also stuck at 8769, an ideas as to how we can get it moving? Yeah, guys it's stuck for me at the same spot right after I opened the new thread. It was like I jinxed it by posting or something. The network has been moving pretty smoothly for months now, but has had occasional pauses like this where the wallets that are staking don't have mature enough coins to keep the network moving. I'm currently rotating between wallets to find the one with the most mature coins so we get past this little logjam, but anyone who has a wallet with mature coins should open it and stake to help get us past the stuck point. Only 30 more blocks after that to the point where we'll have mining to keep things working. UPDATE: I loaded a different wallet and it just staked block 8770, so just 30 more to go. It's 1:23pm here as I type this and I'll be working here all day with my eye on things to keep it moving smoothly.

Block 8800 is almost upon us. Just 30 blocks left as I type this! Remember, everybody needs to be up to date with version 1.2 before this happens. We have created a new thread where we can update the OP. Please use the download links from the GitHub page below, or check the new thread. https://github.com/BitSeedsOrg/Bitseeds#download-bitseeds

Wait, is this a new coin or takeover?
It's actually neither. The original dev parted ways some time ago, I was mining it and interested in the project from the first day but then ended up getting involved directly in the project after the dev left. It's pretty much all there to see in the old thread but since the thread was posted by an account controlled by the old dev, we can't update the OP. Figured it was time for a new thread.

A Currency That Grows!Introducing BitSeeds - Course:
Downloads:
BitSeeds ExplorersOfficial, Iquidus explorer with rich list: http://45.55.193.231:3001/Secondary: http://electrum2.cryptolife.net/bitseeds-new/(this is a basic explorer) Second Iquidus explorer provided by Cryptoally: http://xseed.explorer.cryptoally.net/ Blockchain ParametersProof of Work was restored May 1st, 2016 - the specs are:* Algo: SHA-256D * For the relaunch we had zero block rewards until Block 2017, then an initial ~1 week of initial reduced reward at 0.025 XSEED per block until Block 4034 when we fully reinstated the originally planned reward of 10 XSEED per block. From here, block rewards will reduce very slowly and steadily at a rate of 0.025 XSEED reduction every 90 days for 400 reductions, for just under 99 years * TX Comments * 2MB block size Proof of Stake* Interest Per Year: 10% * Minimum Stake Age: 24 hours Network* Coin Maturity: 120 Blocks * Average Block Time: 5 minutes What Is BitSeeds?BitSeeds is a hybrid proof of work/proof of stake cryptocurrency network with the goal of raising money to assist the Rainforest Foundation ( http://rainforestfoundation.org/bitseeds) in its mission of reforesting the planet. The custodial wallet owned by the Rainforest Foundation exists for the sole purpose of staking new BitSeeds each year to contribute to the Rainforest Foundation's mission and the success of the project. The rate of deforestation is so enormous that in order to restore balance a disruption in traditional fund raising was needed. BitSeeds provides a cryptographic ledger with unique features specifically designed for not-for-profit organizations and driving merchant adoption. Ecosystem development is an ongoing process spearheaded by the BitSeeds Foundation. Why Is the BitSeeds Project Necessary?BitSeeds adds ecosystem-specific remittance rails for charitable donations and a blockchain robust enough to accommodate future development. Every commercial transaction conducted within the remittance rail has the value added benefit of a charitable tax deduction, beyond the normal cost savings of cryptocurrency adoption. Individuals are then incentivized to hold and stake BitSeeds in personal wallets not simply to support the network, but support the greater mission of the Rainforest Foundation to reforest the planet. "The simple act of holding BitSeeds makes the world a better place because you are investing in the mission of the Rainforest Foundation to reforest the planet."What Is The BitSeeds Foundation? The BitSeeds Foundation is a not-for-profit entity registered in the state of Nevada. More information may be found at the BitSeeds website ( http://BitSeeds.org). Why Is BitSeeds Important?Cryptocurrencies are a means to give people hope, and that is the primary use case of BitSeeds. Beyond the stated mission, the BitSeeds Foundation is committed to furthering the partnership of cryptocurrencies and charity and offers its network and support services to any charity that wishes to implement a safe and healthy digital currency into their fundraising efforts. Why Not Use Another Currency? While BitSeeds could not exist without blockchain technology, other networks may not suitable for most charity organizations. BitSeeds adds ecosystem-specific remittance rails for charitable donations and a blockchain robust enough to accommodate future development. What Makes BitSeeds Different? While boasting a number of technological advances which make it superior to other currencies, BitSeeds has a real mission to guide its development and growth. The core mission of reforesting the planet always takes precedence over other concerns. Without distractions, the work of the Rainforest Foundation and the BitSeeds Foundation can continue with minimal outside risk. Why Would Merchants Use BitSeeds? Merchant adoption is driven through a custom remittance system being developed by Coin.co ( http://coin.co). 1.25% of every transaction processed will be sent to the BitSeeds Custody Address. Merchants will be presented with a yearly accounting and requisite paperwork for tax purposes. Every transaction completed through this process is a charitable tax deduction for the accepting merchant and a great incentive for adoption that goes beyond the usual savings of cryptocurrencies compared to credit cards. How Do You Plan To Plant 1,000,000,000 Trees? That's the best part about BitSeeds: all of the necessary experience, expertise, ingenuity, and infrastructure are already there! It's all built and ready. All the Rainforest Foundation needs is funding from the public to expand 30+ year old reforestation operations to levels never seen before. BitSeeds will provide jobs, infrastructure, and raise the standards of living for the poorest in the world. This project is already in motion. BitSeeds makes more of it happen, faster. To make this initiative possible, each year BitSeeds will yield 10% interest to each person who holds the currency. At the launch of the currency, 100 million BitSeeds were set aside in a special wallet owned by the Rainforest Foundation that will generate interest through staking. The yearly interest income the Rainforest Foundation receives will enable them to help local communities conserve and restore forests on a scale never before possible. With a traditional donation to a charity, a person gets something symbolic but not very useful like a tote bag or a mug as a thanks for their donation; starting soon when someone donates to the Rainforest Foundation they will receive a gift card loaded with BitSeeds, allowing them to turn around and spend some or all of the money they just donated, while still knowing they're helping the Rainforest Foundation's mission and enjoying the benefits of a tax deduction!
From the Rainforest Foundation, founding member of the BitSeeds Foundation: “Immediately slowing or stopping the alarming rate of rainforest destruction is vital to society’s health and well-being. So we asked ourselves: how can we leverage more resources to support what we know are effective solutions? The scale of funding needed to halt or reverse rainforest destruction is so large that we can't just do what we've always done to raise funds. We need innovation. We need disruption.” -Suzanne Pelletier, Executive Director of Rainforest Foundation US and founding member of the BitSeeds Foundation

Hello, This is in reference to the above message.
Just wanted to follow up by saying that we finally began our training at on Thursday, 9:30am!
I thought that this might be a training session or course fully delivered at once and gone through step by step and then followed up with supplemental support. But I have since learned that it is handled similar to attending classes over a period of time. So far I have learned to create an X11 Coin Wallet, and we're moving on to the Genesis Block and delving in to making a new Block Chain.
Josh tends to be like a lot of IT people. Pretty GOOD at what they do, but not too good with communicating outside of that. I think they're more techies than teachers or businessman. I'm a businessman (teacher type), so the communications thing is a big deal to me, and that's driving me crazy!
I didn't want to leave my last statement loose ended (see? communications), and I didn't want to just say "Delivered", because I notice that there is this concern about the altcoin market being full of shit coins (shitty people?), and I think altcoins play an important roll in cryptocurrency and it might be seen if more people made an effort to produce or support more useful altcoin projects.

Glad you were able to get a response from loljosh. I tried contacting him weeks ago and was ignored, so I moved on to someone else for the project I'm involved with. Are you guys finally resurrecting the Wampumcoin project? Was seriously considering just taking it over since it seemed to have been abandoned. I have a serious suggestion for you about some specific changes you really should implement in an update that will add a LOT of value to the project, while making it much more appealing to the Native American community. PM me if you'd like details.

Pool ready to go at iSpace but just waiting for PoW to restart at block 8800 before activating.
Are we able to start running our miner on your pool or do we have to wait till the block change? Doesn't look like they'll have it activated until block 8800, but even if they did you'll be basically spinning your wheels until POW kicks in. BTW, @Marty19 - you should set up a 301 redirect for the page on your site /coindetails/?coin=bits (full URL not included so BCT doesn't link to the page) to redirect it to http://sha256d.ispace.co.uk/coindetails/?coin=xseed - it looks like when you initially posted the page with the old currency symbol it was indexed by search engines and is showing up when searching for BitSeeds. Redirect it and you'll keep the SEO benefit and you won't have people finding your site by being take to a blank page, which is better for your user experience.

Also I have some NAUT in cryptsy do I need to swap it or they will make the transition?
Given their past record on bothering to do updates or even make tiny efforts like changing the name of a coin that's rebranded (Coinmarketscoin to Jumbucks still hasn't been changed for example and it's been most of a year), I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for them to do it -- although I'd be happy to be surprised by them. I'm pretty sure I saw drachmae post a link to a place you can swap your coins several days ago in the thread. I'm sure you'll still be able to swap them out.

Today is the 6th day of the giveaway and the latest video focuses on the receive tab of the BitSeeds wallet, explaining this part of cryptocurrency wallets for non-technical users. I also take the time in the lesson to go over the steps for copying and pasting since there are really a surprising number of people who don't know this basic computer skill. Watch the video and follow the steps and anyone can join in on the giveaway by learning exactly how to create a cryptocurrency payment address and then paste it into the comments below the video to be sent 100 BitSeeds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNyt6jpS3gs

Today's video lesson shows people the steps to sign up for an account on http://bittrex.com and how to create a BitSeeds deposit address there so they can participate in the giveaway even if they're only on mobile or can't or don't want to run the QT for some other reason. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2P6DqYXy58I

So how difficult is it to switch my sha-256 asic chips from mining Bitcoin to mining XSEED?
What exactly do I need to download?
It will not be difficult at all. I don't know what mining software you're using currently, but there is someplace (from the command line or from a form in a web browser, etc.) where you are entering a pool address (URL), a password, and either a bitcoin address or a pool username when you are setting the device to mine. What you would do is use that same software and run it almost exactly the same way except you would replace those three pieces of info (pool URL, username/payment address, and password) with the correct info for one of our three pools (iSpace.co.uk, wmikrut.com, or miningpools.tk). So you'd put in the pool address, your miner worker password can be anything you want, and then you either use a username or a payment address depending on the site. Both miningpools.tk and wmikrut.com are MPOS pools, which means you do not need to create an account with them, but instead you go into the BitSeeds wallet and make a new address under the receive tab and paste that in as the username (worker name) in your mining software. With iSpace you have to create an account and then you put your BitSeeds address into the website through the My Mining/My Payouts menu and set up how often you want them to send you a payout. Your mining software would then use something like username.1 (literally whatever your username is with a .1 for the first mining device, .2 for the second, etc.). So the only thing you'd need to download would be the wallet software so you can go to the Receive tab and make a new address to give to whichever pool you use. If you know how to use your mining software it's literally just fill out the info with the details the sites provide on their Getting Started page (ignore any mentions on their site about downloading something; just fill out the info yourself like you've done with Bitcoin pools in the past). Hope that makes sense. I will be recording a video tutorial on mining to add to the course videos I'm publishing, so if you get stuck you'll be able to see the steps. Looks like we'll hit block 8800 and the start of mining before I'm done releasing all of the current course so I'll probably just add it to the number of videos I'm releasing and extend the giveaway by a day.

Well, I posted the link to the latest video to Twitter but forgot to update the thread. Here's the second video - post your payment address in the comments under the video, please like and share: https://youtu.be/JltNf-NDf1oNicely done video, clear and detailed. Solid work! Thanks. Result of a lot of practice! Today we have 3 videos - the Mac and the Windows versions of installing the wallet. The Mac version is split in two parts to show an extra step some OS X users will need to take because the app didn't get published through the Mac App Store. Playlist with all of the course videos so far is here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQavRdgrRCkXlsBrtAm32jafiu8Ihu7dp

We've updated our tag from BITS to XSEED, thanks for the info.
Thank you for updating it.

Pool ready to go at iSpace but just waiting for PoW to restart at block 8800 before activating.
Awesome. Thank you for the quick turnaround time! Just for info, your tag of BITS is already in use on Bittrex and Poloniex for BitStarCoin.
Yes, that's actually the old symbol that BitSeeds was launched with but it was changed to XSEED. The dev forgot to change it in the wallet with 1.2, but we'll fix it in the next update.
