121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DO YOU feeL THE MARKET WILL CRASH TOO ? on: November 28, 2019, 08:04:21 PM
Huh
I have this impression bitcoin will go very very very low and bringing all alts with him,
ETH to 80$
BTC to 1000 $....
LTC to 10 $...
Its not FUD here, just my point of view , recent news, china, bans, thiefs, predictions, use ?

Cheers Kiss

Relax lol.

I personally don't see this happening. Even in the lowest of the lows within the last bear market we found sizable support at the $3-4k level, let alone this time round where halving is much closer for BTC that will drag the entire crypto market up along with it.

Also, fundamentals have significantly improved overall in the crypto space, which is what drives long term price action.

ETH to $80 could be possible, if $7k support doesn't hold up. However, BTC to $1k and LTC to $10 are absurd, unless there is some structural change in the crypto economy.
122  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-11-27] One Reason People Aren’t Paying With Bitcoin: Taxes on: November 28, 2019, 04:08:59 AM
Quote
But it’s not just about willingness to play by the rules. Even those who are perfectly willing to pay taxes on Bitcoin payments are faced with headaches and complicated accounting just to make sure they aren’t breaking the law.

That's the main issue.

If they expect people to comply with tax codes with BTC transactions then there should be easier mechanisms to find out how much liability you actually owe on your transactions, instead of vague guidelines that leave you exposed even if you think you did your taxes correctly.

Also, double taxation is a huge burden on BTC users. It makes no sense to charge both CGT and GST on BTC like in some jurisdictions.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Its a gradual process on: November 28, 2019, 02:50:51 AM
If i have to look back at the past of bitcoin and crypto well i'd say there is still huge hope left in future, despite all the ups and downs in the early life of bitcoin and few altcoins available back then here they are today,  and now here we are with better adoption compare to the past, once upon a time it was just a single btc ATM in 2013 and now we have thousands, Adoption is slowly taking over but its hard for many to see because many are so unprepared for the down side of crypto, they only want the good side which is not a reality to me, for what so ever is going to work will have its challenges, remember that rome was not built in a day, lets fully support the technology and hopefully we will start seeing 6 figure bitcoin price in the near future..

Certainly. But it ultimately depends on the fundamentals still.

A coin which doesn't have good fundamentals and whose value completely based off speculation will not have a long term future, no matter how long you hold onto your positions for. To be in a position to hold a coin long term and wait for this gradual process of development to occur you need to first be certain that the coin actually has intrinsic value.

With large caps like ETH and BTC, it's really just a waiting game to wait for mass adoption.
124  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-11-26] China Shuts Over 100 Crypto Exchanges on: November 27, 2019, 10:48:56 PM
I think what they mean by this is the cumulative exchange exits from 2017, which is the first time this news was announced.

Then it's not surprising because of the fact that a lot of exchanges have already voluntarily removed themselves from China, like Huobi, OKcoin, etc. that no longer operate within the Chinese jurisdiction but rather focus on global markets.

Perhaps there are more crackdowns this time, but honestly it's mostly FUD still.
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: some alts with extremely % today. on: November 27, 2019, 08:41:37 PM
How to know which alts will "explode" after dips like this one.
There are tokens with +50% on the first page of cmc
I am using Newscrypto.io tools that are helping me with the trading but what else is there to do?

You simply can't tell for certain.

Perhaps certain indicators will help. However, when markets are going down like this on a daily basis I think the wisest thing to do is to pick a few coins with good long term fundamentals, and simply dollar cost average.

That is the safest way to go long on a coin in a bear market, imo. You're ensuring that you don't buy at the top, nor do you miss out on the opportunity to load up cheap coins.
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin vs. Dogecoin - FML on: November 27, 2019, 07:57:56 PM
LTC will be higher later, Doge is likely to be stable when the market is experiencing a significant decrease while LTC because near BTC of course the price will follow BTC.
Eventually the Doge supply will continue to grow and the price will be difficult to stabilize while LTC is stable at 64 million.

That's not even the main reason.

I think that the main reason why I'm so much more bullish on LTC long term is because of the fact that LTC actually has good fundamentals, whether that's in the form of segwit or low fees as a result of SW.

While even though DOGE has low fees as well, I've seen exchanges increase their fees on doge withdrawal so much that it's not worth it to use it as a middleman coin anymore. Plus, there is virtually no active development going on.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Liquidity rating makes lotta sense on: November 26, 2019, 12:55:37 AM
Yeah for sure. It's definitely a better reformed way of measuring which exchanges are the best and which exchanges are worse, while filtering out the exchanges which have pumped up volumes due to wash trading or other unscrupulous methods.

However, i've seen articles that essentially abuse these statistics and take them out of context to say "oh, BTC markets have a shockingly low total liquidity".

But that is purely a misconception. Liquidity of the orderbooks does not represent how much money is willing and able to demand BTC at this very moment, which should be the definition for liquidity.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Are all exchange going to Alive in near future? on: November 26, 2019, 12:37:08 AM
The current currencies are 4849 and Markets are 20850 according to the CMC. Is this really working fairly? I think if it was altered, it would better to get more volume and liqudity. Still thinking, the future of Exchangaes.

I think that with the advent of DEXs, a lot of the more incompetent centralised exchanges will be wiped out as a matter of time.

So no, there are a lot of exchanges that are completely unregulated and surviving off altcoins that have very low liquidity and a lack of markets elsewhere, creating a niche for themselves that way. Once these alts start dying, the exchanges will also die alongside them.

Don't be surprised either if DEXs become very popular in the next decade or so, and have a very detrimental impact on the popularity of platforms who don't have a decentralised exchange developed by that stage.
129  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin Price Tanks as Unplanned Exchange Maintenance Leaves Customers Stranded on: November 26, 2019, 12:08:32 AM
The price dip had nothing to do with the exchange, or at least, nothing to the scale that the article is implying here.

I've deribit for a long time now and never had issues, and it is really out of character for them to have an unplanned maintenance in such volatile times. They were just making a name for themselves against their competitor Bitmex and this will set themselves back quite a bit.

But at the end of the day, I'd still trust them. They seem very competent and their trading engine is still one of the best.
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: PAC (Pacquiao) Token Starts Trading from Nov 12. Will You Buy It? If Yes, Why? on: November 25, 2019, 09:39:25 PM
Why would anyone see this token as an investment?

It's basically a publicity stunt that is designed to benefit the person who is issuing the token, imo. The only intrinsic value that this token has apparently is from being able to be redeem for Pacquiao memorabilia and autographs.

Perhaps if you're a fan and you were going to purchase them anyways, this token would be of utility to you. I don't even think that there is even significant ground for speculators to hype up this particular token.
131  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's a BUY flag on: November 25, 2019, 08:29:29 PM
Precisely what I'm arguing for as well.

The fundamentals has not changed a bit. The only thing that has changed are people's volatile emotions, which is obviously irrational given the fact that any recent news regarding China was completely expected in the first place.

Plus, there are signs that $7k support may hold after all, which calls for DCA as a buying strategy right now. As I've said countless times, halving is just around the corner which is what some people are neglecting right now as well, which will be a major bullish factor.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The current news in China is just a fud or something more? on: November 25, 2019, 12:09:43 PM
I saw many posts regarding the recent China news or police raid fact. Nothing is real in that case? What's the thing Chinese Gov is going to do in next? Sometime, it seems to me that the Gov is with blockchain, sometimes, they aren't. Feeling confused.

Complete FUD.

Markets are bearish which is the primary reason for the drop in price. When markets are bearish they tend to see everything in a more negative light than usual, which explains the fact why markets moved so disproportionally to the magnitude of the news which actually isn't that great of a deal if you looked into it.

Exchanges in China were already driven out from 2 years ago after the ICO and mining bans. If you look at major chinese exchanges almost all have already relocated, so it's not like it's coming as a shock to anyone or anything like that.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How soon the blockchain industry can be adopted, is this within 2020? on: November 25, 2019, 09:31:51 AM
Cz posts on his twitter account oftenly that " slowly but surely"  I am worried about it. Guys, can you predict how slowly the adoption can be achievable? would It take within 2020 and this 2020 can be remarkable in history? \

What do you mean? Adoption across the board is already happening on a large scale.

I'd actually say that a lot of technologies are already mass adopted, like bitcoin itself, and even ETH with the advent of ICOs with the ERC20 tokens that are hosted on it. A lot of people are waiting for mass adoption to happen, but I say that we may already be speaking in retrospect.

There are certain applications of blockchain tech that may not yet be mature enough, perhaps integration in terms of the regulated financial world. But that depends a lot on the actual regulations themselves and have less to do with the fundamentals of cryptos.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin Dominance Has Topped then Ethereum Will Blast on: November 25, 2019, 07:56:31 AM
Eth will rise as part of the new alt season, eth 2.0 has failed and delay another 9 month. Also dominance chart not a trading chart I'm not sure but some people call that critical support . what do you think?

I think that ETH is bound to have a rebound against BTC at least.

Whether or not it rallies against USD will depend on the wider state of the crypto market, but against BTC, I think that the 0.02 BTC support should hold up relatively well and be the basis of further rallies in the future.

ETH has been undervalued especially with the ERC20 tokens that it supports that still dominates the market, and that is bound to change soon.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IEO is going to be slower ? on: November 25, 2019, 06:23:12 AM
Recently, I noticed that all the platforms are just like pausing launching new IEOs, If you notice top IEOs launcher platforms like Binance, Okex,Kucoin or Huobi, you will see a gap between 1-1.5 months. ICOs, then IEOs, then What next?

There will likely be a resurgence in IEO volume once bitcoin prices and the entire market in general picks up.

I don't think that they'll fade the way that ICOs did. Perhaps the process of token sale can be somehow decentralised as DEXs become more widespread, but I doubt that there will be any structural changes made to the way that token sales operate other than that in the short to medium term.

The recent slowdown is a combination of China news and the general bearishness, and as I said, I expect that to subside as the halving comes up next year.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How exchanges treat the stolen Money? on: November 25, 2019, 12:39:34 AM
I am curious to know, how Exchanges treat the stolen money or hack money? Are they really aware of it? Just think, your fund has been hacked and transferred from your wallet to another wallet and then it's deposited to an exchange. If you claim to the exchange about the money, Are they not responsible for taking necessary action? What do you think?

What proof do you have in terms of actually proving that the funds involved are the exact funds that you got hacked for?

It's all 'he she, she said'. Unless you have rock solid proof I think it's unreasonable to assume that exchanges will freeze someone's account in particular just because someone complained that he/she may be the hacker/scammer behind a fraud.

Of course, you could try, but I doubt the outcome will be positive.
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Transaction Fee comparison? which crypto is cheapest? on: November 24, 2019, 11:05:13 AM
No idea about whether there is a comprehensive list or not. I don't even think that there is a point to creating such a list, because of the fact that these sort of data has a very short shelf life before they are rendered outdated.

There are cryptos where you can send transactions for completely free of charge, like IOTA, so theoretically they should be the cheapest.

However, it shouldn't be the only factor that you take into account when deciding which crypto to invest/transact with. You also need to look at liquidity, spreads, and other fundamentals.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRADING A SINGLE TOKEN IN BETWEEN EXCHANGES on: November 24, 2019, 09:58:21 AM
i have tried my best to make little money from this crypto business but it seems like i am not getting things right. from Airdrops to bounties. everything turn to pennies and scams at the end. i have tried to invest in ICOS and IEOs. the product plummets immediately the moment it spends two months in the market. i want to try another option and wish to ask here if it is favourable. i discovered that there are tokens that shares different prices in different exchanges.
simple: i buy low from one exchange and sell high in another. looks simple but i think it is worth while, i tired it once with Mainstream For The Underground token. i made a little cash but it was just a trial.  Grin Grin.
hope to share this here.

What you are talking about is arbitrage, plain and simple.

I personally think that it only works in theory and doesn't work 9 times out of 10 in practice. There is usually a very real reason why there is to be a spread between exchanges for the same token price in the first place. If it's not a deposit related issue, it's likely blocked withdrawals which prevents the free flow of capital between exchanges, and thus creating an isolated market.

You could make profit from calculated risks like these, but real arb ops come by very rarely.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SIACOIN NEWS AND PROJECTS? on: November 23, 2019, 11:01:40 PM
Hello community !
To those of you who might know a bit about Siacoin, what is your impression ?
I got a bunch of it and i reall feel their project is interesting but the team looks so slow doing things,
Will they recover after the huge loss from their ICO?

It's a mess to me i'd like Your impression !

Thx

Where did you hear that they ICO'd?

As far as I know, Siacoin held no ICO and was put out for public mining, which is one of the things that makes it more attractive than the rest of the storage coins which are profit driven. They seem to be one of the more genuine projects with a good community.

The only thing that would resemble any sort of ICO is their latest round of funding from Bain Ventures, but that was a private angel investor.

I'd be long on this in the long term, because of the fact that a) it has good fundamentals and b) it has shown the capability to really rally in volatile times.
140  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price drop but institutional investors on Bakkt are buying like crazy! on: November 23, 2019, 09:26:49 PM
I would not jump to your conclusions solely looking at the graphs, because volume at a derivatives exchange can be almost nothing in terms of indicating the positions that they are taking out, and whether or not they have long term vested interest.

Besides, the increase in volume is almost negligible still when compared to major exchanges which have billions in turnover each day.

But I actually wouldn't be surprised if institutional investors are loading up right now, just because of the fact that halving is not far away and prices are undervalued significantly. DCA is the way to go for individual investors too.
