How can I be sure that it's actually mining? Just by all the cores being at 100%, or the debug window, or some other way? Thanks.

Some of us remember when Bitcoin started to become centralized with the appearance of gpu miners, which drove everyone else into mining pools, and eventually out of mining. Now the ASIC miners and producers are taking Bitcoin centralization to a higher level.
The original idea of “One CPU = One Vote” has become more and more just a myth, and “Fully-decentralized currency” more and more false advertising.
There are already too many threads debating whether or not ASIC miners are centralizing and devaluing Bitcoin.
This thread is intended rather for those who wish to identify the cryptocurrency that is the most decentralized and has the most potential to stay that way.

Вспомните какое настроение было летом\осенью 11-ого. Даже многие верующие теряли веру, и у множества идейных небыло идей. И тогда многого что щас существует ещё не существовало. А теперь везде про Б трубят... Сегодня сравнивал картину 11 года с нынешней, и пытался вычислить что может быть. Кстати, по моим раскладам график очень похож. Думаю что наши самые большие карманники, рукоблудники, анчихристы и манипуляторы перебираются с гокса на штамп и в другие богадельни. Я даже наконец оттуда со всем баблом вырвался. И сегодня казалось что Штамп взял на себя инициативу, и мы оттуда рулили разборкой. У меня был очень успешный сеанс одновременной игры сразу на нескольких биржах. И везде наконец на старости лет научилься как в ручную тягаться с ботами и продвинутой ребятнёй, что-б хоть в штанах остаться. Было очень весело, и прибыльно. Так-что, думаю ещё не вечер! Осенью 11-ого, тоже многие из нас думали что биток никогда больше не возьмёт былую высоту. А он вон как расколбасился...  |

Cox continues to lie and treat some of us like criminals solely on basis of their mistaken suspicions. I can't withdraw even BTC without verification, because I've used a VPN to connect. So, to the Gox AML dumb@$#&* that looks like a violation of their TOS by having more than one account, because there are others who access their accounts through the same VPN IP. The same "violation" occurs when two or more members of the same household access their MtCox accounts through the same house router with the same IP, and also would be flagged for mandatory verification, even for BTC withdrawals. So, even if it's just their mistaken suspicion, at MtCox we are automatically guilty until we prove ourselves innocent by showing our papers... May what goes around some day come around to the MtCox @#$$%%^&*s!

I think it's because there are more and more other places to exchange B, such as WebMoney just announced. Also, since people can't get fiat in and out of gox as easily, I think they will get it out to other places via Bitcoin. If that's true, the rate should go up?  |

... операция разъ:- инвестор вливает реальный лям на реальный счет кокса - кокс год или более распоряжается данными средствами как ему угодно ... подсказка: да! наверное да! твердо да! он может и делает это и будет делать что ему вздумается!!! ... а ктото сможет поймать кокс на этом? а предъявить коксу есть что? а вы их правила читали? игого: кочешь легких денег - присядь на кокс - уже никогда не слезешь  +1 Слава Богу значительные вклады я с гокса вывел до того как он под диктатуру Пиндостана лёг. Но потом вбрасывал ещё грошей для забавы, и гокс их принимал сколько угодно и дровами и битками без всякой ксивы и придупреждений. А как хотел даже битками вывести, востребовали стопку ксивы, которой у меня просто нет. Так-что, теперь мои гроши там застряли, гокс с ними что угодно может делать уже больше года. И я наверняка не один в этом положении. Гокс уже давно работает по схеме что мы все пидарасы, а гокс Д'Артаньян, и не по понятиям он на наших Х в рай въехал, и по нему так-же катается, как уже многие тут объяснили. И будет беспредельничать пока или на него власти не наедут с ривизией, или гокс на авторитет наедет, который с ним по своему разберётся, или Бог даст Койнлаб его обанкротит по заслугам... |

We simply need more businesses willing to accept crypto currencies as a means of pay. It will be difficult but it isn't impossible.
I think most of us simply need to leave gox to the professional speculators, and use weighted rates instead of the bogus gox rate for the B economy reference rate. Right now, it's not found on any main data feed i've seen. Those of us who were here through the 611 crash remember the atmosphere after it falling to 2 usd, when even many of the hard-core bitcoiners were doubting B the way they do now, and everyone else was celebrating the demise of B as the latest ponzi, bubble, scam, fad, flooz, etc. Less than 2 years later, B is bigger than ever, and stronger than ever against wooden currencies. So, as we say in Russia, "It's not evening yet!" |

So really, we just need someone to aggregate the data from all exchanges into an API-like format for places like CNBC to grab.
It has long existed at BitcoinCharts! Even the weighted USD price exists there! That's what all of us would be better-off using, instead of constantly quoting and dealing on the bogus gox rate! Instead, the weighted USD price isn't even shown on the Home page of BitcoinCharts itself! It's like we are all taking gox stupid pills here!  |

+1 As soon as OpenCoin opens the source code, and decentralizes itself. In the meantime, for starters, i think that all the market data feeds - Bitcoinity, ClarkMoody, BitcoinCharts - should list most prominently at the top of their tickers the average (aggregate) rate from the top 10 or so USD exchanges, rather than the gox rate. That should be what's used for private, merchant and payment-processor reference rate. We know from way back that the gox rate is always a bogus, pump-and-dump-speculator illusion, further distorted by gox's technical inadequacy, the caprices of its owners, and whatever other intrigues go on there. |
