or offer a one time charge like http://ethosdistro.com/kb/ does i bought a copy of that software i don't use it but still have it and do load it form time to time to see whats new, i like making my own and doing all my own custom set ups etc , after i learn how to .

Sense you said it's a hobby why not just offer some kind of reason able one time charge if you have no plans to make a living doing it and but want to help and feel you need some thing in return, which is cool .

I wish claymores miner offered a one time charge but that might be a little hard because of how it's used , i use it as much as i don't want to but it's kept up to date so right now it's about the best one to use .

From user point of view, paying ONCE makes no sense as company can get money instantly and then not implement any new updates or support.
Too much money makes people lazy. I will think about that option in future but not any time soon.
It was hobby 8 years ago, now it is big company.

Hey guys,

for 3-4 days i have a problem with some rigs that worked perfect till now they are freezing like in the image bellow any idea how this issue can be solved?

Thank you in advance,

Best Ragards,

Please send me email with information what rig has problems.
Will check configuration and OC and errors.

Tytanick.... would you consider adding DOGE as one of the payment options.

DOGE has cheap fees and very fast transactions.

DOGE is #48 in Coinmarketcap Top 100 coins.

BTC, ETH and ETC are not good payment options currently.

Thanks

I have VERY hard time adding yet another coin but in deed DOGE would be first that i would add in smos Smiley
Right now i will do not touch it as i am no longer developing old dashboard and it is some more mess for me but i will think about this also in future.
Actually i will also add PayPal in future but for bigger deposits like >10-20 $ to cover they F* fees which are smaller than ETH now hahah !

Thx for Suggestion Smiley

Hi Mr Tytus, please can we urgently get update to latesr T-Rex miner.
Kind Regards

Newest t-rex is unstable, we are not adding it on purpuse Smiley

Hi all ,

can someone help me how to activate on 1080Ti 5500 Mhz by default because they start at 5000Mhz.

Thank you in advance,
Best Regards

OK, please write to me at admin@simplemining.net and let me know your rig name
I will check it.

Update v1286
- NEW added ability to run miner as ROOT which is applicable on some additional parameters in few miners that need ROOT access to change timings
- NEW added ability to set MVDDCI (memory voltage controller works only on NAVI - RX5700 series and can save another 2-6 watt per GPU ) This is not for old RX570 !
- added MVDD and MVDDCI tooltips which will help you understand both parameters

You need to use /home/miner/
Tongue
The /root/miner will be removed as it is in RAM.

/home/miner/ files are also deleted upon return from the crash too, that config.json file is downloaded everytime the rig connects to simpleminer right? so reason that file is always there, upon restart that file is also deleted, maybe it is not deleted, it is stored in the ram instead of the ssd but it does appear on winscp. So these files you see on winscp they are actually stored in the ram, not in the ssd? I'm kind confused here.

Miner starts in /root/miner/* and this directory is in RAM so it is deleted.

/home/miner/* is on disk and it is not beeing deleted.

Usualy you should have in last crash all info you need to solve your problem. Best is to enter our discord and just copy paste those informations or write to admin@simplemining.net (me) and tell me details about your account and rig name.

/root/miner is not preserved directory (this is where miner starts).

But /home/miner is located on disk so you can specify logs to write there and they will be preserved.

We do not want to have any logs due to usb drives longer life.

Thanks, I will try /root/miner.

Update, I tried the above and the folder miner in the root folder is a simbolic/shortcut link, so it did not work, next I tried /root/miner_org and yes it saves there but upon its return from a crash the log is always 0 kbytes, the log contents are deleted, is there a way a log will remain in that folder or any other folder longer, I mean, for at least 2 restarts or crashes? the log if not set always stays in the miner's folder for example /vat/tmp/miner/phoenixminer-v5.1c but like before the same thing happens, the log or its content is always deleted upon returning from a crash or restart.

You need to use /home/miner/

Hey, sorry I feel like this has been answered, but can we set one rig to two different groups/algos?  I'm still trying to arrive at my strategy going forward.
No, you can specify one group (so one miner progrm + options). It makes no sense to mining at the same time two different alghos.

Is there a place/directory/folder where logs are not deleted upon restart of a miner on SMOS?
You can specify different logs directory in miner like  claymore or phoenix.
You should choose path: /home/miner/

Thank you for letting me know, will do, I had forgot about teamredminer Smiley
Please let me know what are your results.
Aslo do not watch the hashrate as teamred miner does not add fake hashrate Smiley (you can compare it on pool side)

I conducted many tests on SMOS about the dag just now and what I can say is that 4gb gpus on my tests are good up to dag 378 on Claymore and up to dag 381 on Phoenix Miner. SMOS image I'm using is the 1284 version, wifi version, so I'm not sure if you can go further on dag number on other SMOS versions. Amazing, it could go as far as dag 381, very impressive.
Test also teamredminer it should work with 2-3 epoch longer Smiley Or even more ...

i just want to confirm if you support CPU mining or not.  I didn't see it in the original post.  I would try this, but i have a lot of 3rd gen ryzens that would go to waste if i couldn't mine with them.
No, i do not support CPU mining. We only support GPU mining for nvidia and amd.

Cpu mining does not make any sense. Generates more heat and it is not profitable to do that.
Also it might cause some unstability for GPU mining so we do not want this and we do not recommend it.
Even if you would be mining with CPU and it would be "profitable" - you could earn like pennies. Its not worth it.

RX580 8GB can do 31-32MH/s at real power 120-130 watt
RX5700 can do 56+ MH/s at real power 130-150 watt and cost 2x as much as new RX580 ?

It depends how expensive is your electricity.
If it is free then RX580 if it is superexpensive then RX5700.

So do not worry, we are updating miners every day.

Pls update T-Rex, thanks.
t-rex has released yesterday new version 0.16.1, but is seems to crash every time I run this version. May take more time until we released this version (more tests) or will request an error issue to authors. Please be pacient. Still not stable. Issue opened on their github site. waiting for answer.

Using phoenixminer-v5.1c , +50/+1000/115

It start to mine at 185MHS / 30+ MHS per card and then they drop to 28-27MHS , seems a lil low for a 1070 , any idea ?

Actualy it is not low.
you can write in options (only this:)
-benchmark 100
-benchmark 360
And see what is the difference.
Well Nvidia GPUs degrade in hashrate in ethash alghoritm !
I wrote to nvidia many emails about that problem but they do not give a F.

Previously 110watt was hashing 30-31MH/s
Now 135watt does not reach 28MH/s

So you can set higher wattage limit and beside there is no solution.
Most probably they do not want to make driver fix or their cards are bad compared to AMD which released dag fix patch for performance degradation for memory fragmentation problem.
