PoW mining is doomed!

PoS consensus is the future!

122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin failed as a currency on: June 25, 2018, 05:45:27 PM
BTC was never meant to be a currency in the real sense of the word because currencies are always regulated by some central institution.

BTC was created to be something else:

"A purely peer-to-peer version of electronic cash would allow online payments to be sent directly from one party to another without going through a financial institution."

Heavy regulation might kill crypto as we know it.
125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do we need to regulate digital money on: June 24, 2018, 04:38:10 PM
Why do we need to regulate digital money

Because of criminals. This must be regulated!
Regulation of the crypto currency is not due to criminals. In order to protect their rights related to the crypto currency in court, we need to regulate it. First of all, this means determining its status, the order of its circulation and use. Everything needs clarity and certainty. Without this, the court will not decide in your favor. Regulation, and hence the definition of your rights when using crypto currency, is necessary wherever you apply it. Therefore, regulation is very necessary.

Absolutely! But keep this in mind; regulation goes against the basic tenets of the crypto system as the cypherpunks originally envisioned it and as Nakamoto created it.

With regulation crypto as we know might dye.
126  Economy / Economics / Re: How to manage the risk in investing cryptocurrency? on: June 24, 2018, 04:32:39 PM
1 - Study the market for yourself and don't let any guru tell this or that is the ultimate coins

2 - Invest in reliable projects, with a past history. Stay away from Scam ICOs

3 - Diversify your investments

4 - Keep studying
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do we Need Altcoin? on: June 24, 2018, 04:27:45 PM
yes we need altcoin, it shows the development of the blockchain, more and more altcoin shows what the blockchain can be useful for.

And more and more scams arise everyday. We definitively need altcoins but not these huge mess with hundreds of scams rising and falling each month.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2018 is stabity year ? on: June 24, 2018, 04:17:38 PM
Crypto world will never be stable without heavy regulation. And that's in direct contradiction of the primordial goals of the system when it was created by Nakamoto.

Thus, stability comes from regulation, but regulation might kill crypto as we know it.
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Long-term investment. on: June 24, 2018, 04:09:14 PM
Long term investment is the way to go for me because if you invest in some real good projects for the long term you don't have to check the prices of your investment 20 times a day, you can just invest and remain stress free. However, your investment must be made in really good projects that has real significant usage and can grow in the near future.

Therefore, one should invest in a couple of reliable PoS projects and let them stake for some years.

That's what I'm doing with great success and everything is looking good in my plan to leave some precious digital assets to my son when that time comes.

131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ¤ DMD Diamond 3.0 | Scarce ¤ Valuable ¤ Secure | PoS 3.0 | Masternodes 65% on: June 24, 2018, 04:03:33 PM
I am getting a lot of Orphan Blocks. Anyone have a good DMD config file? Not sure if it would help but I should try it.

Are you sure you are on the right blockchain? There was a fork a few days ago.

Upgrade your wallet to the latest 3.0.1.1 and add this conf file:

Code:
rpcuser=???
rpcpassword=Some_LONG_AND_Stupid_PASSWORD
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
listen=1
server=1
daemon=1
logtimestamps=1
maxconnections=50
port=9999
masternode=1
masternodeprivkey=your key
externalip=your settings
onion=127.0.0.1:9150
discover=0
bantime=3600

I'm running a masternode, staking with 40+ steady connections and no orphans.

ETH's move to PoS with the Casper implementation will be a true game changer.

Once the best altcoin moves to PoS, a new era begins for crypto.

And the PoW mining will fade away....
133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin failed as a currency on: June 21, 2018, 07:02:53 PM
I think bitcoin remains as currency because bitcoin is used for online transactions and long-term investments and this is indeed successful, although bitcoin prices are unstable. But it is very far from happening, unless it can have stability and faster block confirmations then it can be a truly efficient tool as a regular currency for everyday usage.

How can it have stability without regulation?

And who is going to regulate it?

And will the community accept it?

Would you be comfortable knowing your currency's production is a Chinese monopoly?

Forget about it, BTC doesn't have what it takes to be a currency.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency Will Kill Cash ? Is this True on: June 21, 2018, 07:00:09 PM
We are still a long way from a time when crypto assets are mainstream and easily available to the vast majority of the world's population.

Right now, a very significant % of the population doesn't have internet access, not to mention food, clothes...

Crypto is not changing the world for the better, is digging a deeper trench between the tech savvy and the rest.

135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It could take 2 years for the market to recover on: June 21, 2018, 06:54:56 PM
Two years???

It's impossible to foresee how the market is going be in two weeks!

Nobody knows what's going to happen tomorrow because the market is totally unregulated.

Maybe it will never get back to late December values, maybe it will double those values, who knows?
136  Local / Portugal / Re: Online Florista (Lisbon) on: June 20, 2018, 09:11:01 PM
Hello Portuguese friends,

Well played at yesterdays football match, a real pleasure to watch!

I am looking for recommendations for an online florist where I can buy and have the flowers delivered in Lisbon.  Can someone suggest a good florist in Lisbon please?

Thank you.

Try one of these:

https://www.lizgarden.pt/

https://www.interflora.pt/

I've used them in the past and they delivered. However, I cannot guarantee the service is still fully functional today.

Education is the foundation for any successful risk management strategy.

138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can world Government Kill Crypto? on: June 20, 2018, 08:05:58 PM
There is, and there will never be, no such thing a "world government".

Politicians can't agree on anything, not even in the Western world let alone considering the Chinese, the Indians and the lot...

On the other hand, crypto community is also divided and unable to set a path forward, entangled by all the ICO scams!

Therefore, crypto won't dye but it will probably agonize for some time  Angry
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Long-term investment. on: June 20, 2018, 07:56:17 PM
Buying and holding a portfolio of strong PoS assets is the best long term strategy. Better yet if you manage to buy enough assets to setup a few masternodes.
