Despite the recent price slump, 2014 was still an awesome year for Bitcoin and other cryptos to creep into the mainstream. 2015 should be an interesting year! Great post Chase.

Thanks, and I agree 2015 is going to be interesting.  What's going on in crypto right now is probably similar to what all new industries go through when they are just starting out.  It will be fascinating to see how everything plays out!
Having experienced several new startups first hand, I can say that this is the most exciting segment of just about any project. Almost like falling in love! We work 18 hours a day (Dyna works 20 hours a day, old people need less sleep). We talk about new concepts like schoolgirls talking about the new quarterback on the football team. New ideas are poked and prodded, scrubbed and polished, sometimes falling on the heap of "old new ideas", sometimes changing the way business is conducted so dramatically it changes an entire industry.

Like all startups, there will be bumps and bruises. What is needed most in this phase is the "The Grand Vision", the "Great Journey" and a calm, confident hand at the helm. Dyna has given us his Grand Vision. He has explained how we are going to get there (The Great Journey). He is the voice of reason in a forest of the faceless masses shouting "me too" and "I want it all now". Dyna the Calm, Confident Hand, The Voice of Reason in a world that moves at light-speed, making it's own rules along the way.

It is really pretty simple at it's core. Build the system from the ground up to be Best in Class. The end goal is ALWAYS to be Best in Class. The most important "Dynaspeak" (write this down):

Do things others can't or won't. Explains it all.

Thanx for warm welcome everyone. Cheesy You're quite awesome community.

I must say Dyna, i recognized myself in that "hundreds of others who stayed watchfully but quietly" part as i often see myself as a silent reader.
Btw i must say DNotesVault is a great idea, especially the CR.I.S.P. for Kids.
Now, regardless of being a silent guy, i'm sure i'll be the first wierdo here who announced that he's going to become a daddy! Cheesy

HAPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats!!  I just married off the third one, one more to go then we are free, free!!!  (2 boys, 2 girls)

Congratulations, RJF. Does it mean that you will have more time do some thing great? The combination of DNotesVault and CR.I.S.P. has opened up all kinds of opportunities; as a free service or as a charity fund raising tool which we have previously mentioned. There are also many revenue generating, privately owned businesses, that can be started to exploit the rapidly growing digital currency space. I know that you have a great deal of successful entrepreneurial background. I just like to mention that we will be supportive of qualified individuals or groups interested to utilize our growing infrastructure. Happy New Year!!

I think I have already accomplished a great thing in raising my children to be productive members of society with morals and values that will see them through their lives and the lives their children. Isn't that what it's all about really? Passing it on?  Anyway, my next great thing involves a beach, palm trees and warm blue water...  Smiley

Let me know when and where is your next trip. I will drop in and talk you out of it. Lol, that's what our Dev. did to me. Now I am having too much fun to quit. Happy New Year!!!

Heading to Dayton, Ohio in May, might be convinced to detour westward a bit if I have the time... Oh, and I didn't say there wont be a laptop beside me. I've been in the business too long to give it up entirely, just the office part...  Smiley

Let me know when you are heading this way. We may be able to arrange to have Dyna and DNotes meet you in the garden. Coldwater, MI is not very far out of your way. Ever seen 40 acres of high-end daylilies blooming? An awesome sight!! We can give you the 5 cent tour of the most efficient Daylily Garden in the world. You can see how we built it into the market leader in less than five years. There are a lot of similarities between building a successful business and building a successful crypto-currency.

2FA is now enabled on DNotesVault.com. If you want to enable it, log into your DNotesVault account, click My Account, Enable 2FA and it will prompt you to scan the QR code or copy down the key code to enter it into the Google Authenticator App. Please give it a test and let us know if you have any problems.

Thanks!

Works just fine! No problems here. Looks like the DNotes Vault is a hit. The deposit guarantee in unique in the industry, and I just HAVE to visit the CR.I.S.P. for kids page every time I visit, and see how much the grandkid's college fund has grown.

Actually been pondering things about crypto lately, (well and trolling a few amusing threads for me).   Actually today going to an Xmas party, and going to be talking to a semi-highly placed person at an international charity,  (not woman focused, but deals with women in terms of refugee's,so it fits semi-thematically).   They don't accept crypto, and I'm going to be trying to find out how much of a donation I would have to raise to make it worth them taking the time and effort to look into accepting it.

If I can generate interest in it, then I have a project.   If I can't, well I can still donate fiat. =).

Hope everyone is having a happy holidays
I am good for at least a five figure donation of DNotes, if they would accept them. I try to focus to projects that are near and dear to my heart (epilepsy and fire safety), and local projects, but I trust this is a good place to "invest" DNotes to have the most helpful impact. It does go along with our philosophy of helping the disadvantaged in society. Contact me privately if you need to.

This is a very serious test of our stability model. How well can it hold onto the new ground we have gained, is going to be the question of the year. Good thing, only ten days left. I was going to make an effort to slow down for a week and spend more time with the family. Now I am anxious, looking and turning over every tea leaf for a clue.

The increased buy volume is a good indicator. What impressed me most this morning was the buying from all time zones, which could mean that we are getting more widespread support worldwide. There has also been a noticeable increase in larger buy orders.

At some point, there will be a period of consolidation. That has been our historical track record every time. On a few occasions, the daily volume dropped to a point as if nobody wanted to buy or to sell, followed an attempt for the next high. Don’t be alarmed if we see it again this time. The low volume shows up as a “negative” indicator on my radar as it is considered a poor liquidity factor. Being on our radar, we are always trying to improve liquidity. This is another challenge we take seriously. It will improve over time but we have yet to come up with a good solution.

All bull runs take breaks to get rested before the next attempt for a new high. The ability for DNotes to hold above 4000 sat is an important indicator. A trading range of 3751 to 4000 is fair, 4001 to 4500 is good, and 4501 to 5,000 is excellent. Dropping below 3750 is poor.  Indicators of this nature are somewhat subjective with an inherent bias. Personally, I believe they help me to be more objective. By nature I am an independent thinker, a big picture person, very analytical, think outside of the box and a practitioner of the system approach where everything is inter-related. Hope these comments are helpful.

C-Cex trading value is up, volume low... what's the future of this coin?

Hi minerpage.  Welcome to DNotes Forum. C-Cex typically has the lowest volume among the three exchanges DNotes is actively traded on. The other two are Allcoin and Poloniex. Like most of the other altcoins, DNotes has limited liquidity resulting in a price spike, more often than other exchanges with higher volume. I have noticed that a number of times and also noticed that it adjusted fairly quickly.

We do plan on DNotes having a good future. DNotes is managed like a business. We have a very specific strategic plan in building DNotes from ground up as a stable trustworthy digital currency with reliable long term appreciation. We believe in creating fundamental values to support DNotes valuation with a preference to remain under valued verses being priced to perfection. We share our conceptual strategic plans but do not disclose specific details until we deemed appropriate, either at launch time or very closed to it.

In case you missed our recent press release, the following links may give you a better idea of our commitments to give DNotes the best chances to be the digital currency of the future with lasting value:

http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/cryptocurrency-round-bitreserve-launches-bitcoin-gold-standard-draper-wins-auction-1478538

"The biggest mover across all markets was DNotes, the self-described "cryptocurrency of the future". DNotes rose by almost 40% over the last 24 hours to take its market cap above $650,000."

Sounds like a well organized coin... I'm in Smiley

Delighted to have your support. Let us know any time we can be of help. Be sure to visit CryptoMoms if you have not already done so. http://cryptomoms.com/forum/index.php?action=recent

To me it looks as if DNotes has been a "Steady as she goes" currency with taking the time to make it valuable in different ways.  Especially for instance the cryptomoms. I am pretty new but have taken my time to research a bunch before getting on board with any currency.  I have made that leap and truly believe this is the best one out there.  I have read the posts about the fire fighters as well and am stoked about that as well.  Been in a fire fighting family for years and their work is very valuable, this currency would be great for them as well.
Hi Grandmama, thanks for supporting CryptoMoms and now here to give us a helping hand, Even though you are new you have been making some great observations with excellent posts. The optimum success of DNotes can only come about from the participation of a large number of DNotes stakeholders promoting and protecting DNotes, CryptoMoms, and now DNotesVault for their mutual benefits as a group. It is the unity of force, coming from a growing number of common people in pursuit of their common goals that makes our achievement sustainable with increasing momentum.

We are delighted to notice that quite a few new supporters have been helping us to spread the message. DNotes real greatness will come about when each and everyone of us try to do a little good for others while helping ourselves. This is a grassroots community effort to shape the future of money for the common people and the financially disadvantaged away from the central control of a few rich and powerful. The decentralized nature of digital currency is such that the actions of the majority always rule.

This is a strategic master stroke. It shows deep understanding of technology adoption life cycle and a lot of strategy related concepts that I had to pay a premium business school to learn. The network effect being gradually created shows excellent execution skills as well. Theory meets implementation.

Still, every long term coin strategy needs an economic model to survive the initial excitement. I've seen many coins do well until the highly anticipated spike and the following selloff... at which point the coin is practically dead in the water... speculation can be good to get a market position, but needs to be sustained with economic activities (buying and selling goods with the coin) so I would think a payment gateway is pretty essential early in the game... the sooner the better... am looking for that model with this coin Smiley

I apologize for not giving you a prompt response. Of course, viable economic model is essential for any entity to survive over the long term. Speculative short terms spike often benefits a few but very damaging for everyone else. DNotes may be taking mass consumer and merchant adoption more seriously than most our industry peers.

Our core mission is to fulfill the full functions of money and more. DNotes is strategically positioned to be among the most cost effective medium of exchange for global commerce. Stability is the key requirement. High volatility destroys all cost advantages of low transaction cost using digital currency, with increased risk of currency loss. Global payment network with the most technically advanced payment system will certainly be part of our total package. I hope this addressed your concern. Feel free to let us know if we can answer any other questions.

Dyna said: "Our core mission is to fulfill the functions of money and more".
That would seem to be the obvious goal of ALL crypto-currencys. BUT........I have looked and looked, but have not found ANY other currency that has that goal, or is even aware that it is even important. It is amazing to me........ what seems like an obvious goal (fulfilling the functions of money) for any "internet money", is lost on the crypto-currency world. They don't treat it like money, they treat it as a commodity to be traded, like stocks. The Developers design and promote it like a stock or commodity. They don't seem to think about the end use of thier product, they only think about it "going to the moon".

Does any other coin have a track record of stability? Not even close. Not even one. How about trust? There is not one coin that I would trust. I don't trust anything to do with crypto-currency!! Mt. Gox? How about Mint Pal? Polo getting hacked. Very scary out there.

We will always do what we say we are gonna do. We are low key, undervalued, not hyped, not  shouting about some project that MAY work 6 months from now just to get the price up. Trust is not something that is built overnight. Like a lot of other things, trust is something that is EARNED, not given. We understand how important stability and trust are to money. It CANNOT be called money without those two things. We will never allow DNotes two fail either of these tests. If we do, we are just like all the other crap coins out there. Hold us accountable. We accept the challenge.

Smokey

Just got home from a long field trip, 3.5 hours each way. Great meeting and dinner meet up with some of our stakeholders. Excellent discussion. I will be posting my comments tomorrow. Thanks for your participation.

Dyna is (was) in the house!

My dear friend Dyna paid us a visit yesterday! Dyna, DNotes and my wife Mrs. Smokey and I had a very nice meeting yesterday. We talk every day on the phone, but there is nothing to replace a face to face meeting. Since the garden shut down for the winter, I have not seen Dyna in person, since he is "elbow deep" in Crypto-Currency. I am always amazed by Dyna's vision and scope of knowledge. We are applying the same principles to building DNotes as we used to build Smokeys Gardens. We went from being brand new in the business, to being one of the largest (probably THE largest, 38 acres, 2000 varities, tens of millions of plants), and the most efficient Daylily Grower in the world in less than 5 years.

Again, thanks for the visit, Dyna......

Wow! You guys get it! Very astute observation. Very different business model than ALL other coins. AND....none of the coins out there currently are following this model, it is too late....they are already too volitle. Most have already broken any trust built up. The only way to replicate this model is to design it from day one to fit this business model. Like DNotes.

CR.I.S.P. For Kids

Quote from: grandmama on December 16, 2014, 04:24:58 PM

This is a fantastic thing for any child's future! I cannot wait to see how this explodes in the near future for anyone's child or grandchild or even the neighbor kid who you fell in love with.  Thanks to those who created this program and fund to give kids a great kick start in life.

Quote from Shepherd:

We certainly believe so and appreciate your support very much. I know a few people had helped me in my life to get me to where I am today. I wished that they had left me a few written words somewhere to treasure.  CR.I.S.P. for Kids could mean a lot to those we love long after we are gone. That is a legacy by itself. Perhaps, one day, we can let interested families to setup a private landing page on CryptoMoms where they can meet up and chat. Birthdays will no longer be forgotten. Last minutes gifts with DNotes will save the day and family legacy will be built upon and treasured for generations.
We have all had those folks that have helped us get to where we are. For me, it was grandpas, grandmas, and aunts and uncles. Huge, close-knit family, still is. Since I know I will never be half the man my grandpa(s) was, I will make it up with DNotes for the grandkids!!!
I had 2 grandmas, 2 grandpas, 2 great grandmas and 2 great grandpas when I was born. None of them left me any DNotes!!!
Here's to you, Grandpa D.!!!!

It sure has been a productive week at DNotes, with the launch of the vault and the numerous press releases. The future looks extremely promising, and with wider community support we will accomplish great things.

Fire Fighters for Digital Currency and Veterans for Digital Currency have both added a DNotes page to help raise public awareness. Check it out at http://www.ff4dc.com/dnotes.html and http://v4dc.com/dnotes.html

Any feedback or suggestions are appreciated, and will be taken into consideration.
Looks great! A personal thanks from me, being a former FireFighter myself, and coming from a family of firefighers, including dad, all my brothers, and even a sister, who was an EMT.

Thanks again for looking out for the Nation's Fire Fighters!!

Hey all, opened my vault account, looks really good. Especially the guarantee fund, no matter how good someone says their security is it is hard to believe them, but with a guarantee fund I know my coins are safe. Grin

That is a demonstration of our commitment to ensure that your savings are safe and secure. Have you check out the verifiable fund? Click on the address below, it immediately displays the fund balance through the Blockchain CryptoBox Explorer. I thought that is really cool. You can see the guarantee fund balance, and deposits sent to that address.

Bankers need to understand that the Blockchain technology and digital currency is superior to fiat in some ways. If you don't have it you can not spend, display it or send it. Shall we say, the Blockchain rejects any "insufficient fund check" at the click of the mouse.

The best thing I can see is that the funds are verifiable for all the world to see. If you click on the address displayed just below the words "Guarantee Fund" on the Dnotes Vault Website, it displays the balance on hand, including deposit and withdrawal amounts and dates. Where I grew up, that is called "putting your money where your mouth is".

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the United States. This is a very important holiday here, especially for family get together. Yesterday was the busiest day for travel and most people are gone for the long weekend. I am expecting this forum to be rather quiet over the next few days. I will be posting an update on DNotesVault press release and launch date on Sunday. We are getting very close to it.

We are still working on some last minute fine tuning on DNotesVault, trying to make it as simple as possible. It may not sound like much, but, yesterday, we made a significant improvement in the signing up process for CR.I.S.P. for kids. The sponsor signing up for more than one kid no longer has to sign up for an individual account for each kid at CryptoMoms forum. After registering at CryptoMoms forum, it takes a single post to sign up any number of kids. The following is latest version of CR.I.S.P. for Kids:

CR.I.S.P. for Kids

Helping secure the future of our children and grandchildren

CR.I.S.P. for Kids has been created to help our children and grandchildren develop strong saving habits early, in order to secure their financial future. This is an unstructured and self-directed plan, using DNotes as the investment vehicle. Re-occurring savings, in any amount, may be added at any time.

CR.I.S.P. is the brain-child of Chase, a core team member of CryptoMoms; a community with a dedicated mission to encourage and assist women to participate in the cryptocurrency world currently dominated by men. CryptoMoms.com is a currency neutral site, offering rich contents on everything one needs to know about cryptocurrency. It has a very helpful community ready to answer any questions promptly. CryptoMoms was created by, and is fully funded by, the DNotes team.

As the most stable digital currency with a solid track record of reliable appreciation, DNotes offers the potential of high returns on long-term investment. A large family of CR.I.S.Ps. will be offered in an effort to expand this investment opportunity beyond the early adopters of this emerging industry.

CryptoMoms and the DNotes team are dedicated to help anyone interested in starting a CR.I.S.P. for their kids. In order to encourage and reward the children for developing strong saving habits, the DNotes team will award prizes, in DNotes, for the top wallets on the list, as well as some randomly chosen participants, during the first two formative years. We have created a CR.I.S.P. for Kids Rich List that displays, in descending order, the balances in the kid’s wallets.  The children will be identified only by a nickname / username.

Getting Started

All deposits sent to any DNotesVault address, are securely stored in DNotes cold storage vault offline with 100% guarantee.  Being a joint project of DNotes and CryptoMoms, CR.I.S.P. for kids, is designed to evolve around CryptoMoms, allowing family and friends to easily participate by contributing to the financial future of the kids. Hence extra steps are needed in a one time setup as follows:

1.  Register here at DNotesVault. Using your DNotesVault account dashboard, generate a DNotes deposit address for each kid you plan to sponsor. You can generate multiple addresses as needed, if you are sponsoring more than one kid. Use the label field to identify each kid with a nickname. http://dnotesvault.com/register.php (This link is not activated yet)

2.  Create an account at the CryptoMoms.com forum
Be sure to write down the password and username, required to sign in and post on the forum.

3. Post the DNotes address assigned to each kid along with nickname, birthday, “likes” and comments. To post, use the following thread on the CryptoMoms forum by clicking “REPLY” located at the bottom of the page:
            http://cryptomoms.com/forum/cryptomoms-com/5/kids-with-a-cr-i-s-p/530/

DNotes Vault is looking great! I already have a list of over 20 grandkids, nieces and nephews. I will create a DNotes Vault account for each of them and get them a good start saving (INVESTING) for the future. Again, VERY excited about DNotes Vault!!

I've successfully withdrawn all of my DNotes from Mintpal. Everyone who still has DNotes on Mintpal, should strongly consider moving them, as Mintpal's future seems uncertain at this point.

I was able to withdraw my DNotes from Mintpal also. Still waiting on the BTC I had there......had me wondering for a while there..........

Having met Bill Gates personally, a couple of times, in the capacity as CEO of Dauphin Technology, a mobile computer company, in the early 1990s, I am still one of his biggest fans.

While some might be disappointed that he did not come across as well informed on the current affairs of Bitcoin, he made an amazing case that applies to DNotes perfectly:

The customers we’re talking about aren’t trying to be anonymous, they’re willing to be known, so bitcoin technology is key and you can add to it or you could build a similar technology where there’s enough attribution where people feel comfortable that this is nothing to do with terrorism or any type of money laundering.”

DNotes primary targets are customers who are not trying to be anonymous when they acquire or spend DNotes. It is a trustworthy currency positioned to meet the full functions of money and more, with limited features of anonymity rendering it a poor choice for terrorism and money laundering activities.

I firmly believe that many in our industry are making a fundamental mistake of targeting their currencies to meet the preferences of the early adaptors already part of our industry, instead of the masses world wide.

Bill Gates is a visionary, proven many times over. I proudly treat his comments as a confirmation that DNotes is on the right track. By definition “visionaries” are not “me too”. They often go against the “herd mentality” of following the crowd. Being alone or among the very few can be challenging sometime. As always, your participation and support are well appreciated.

I am sure there are other "old, experienced guys" that are leading a development team in the Crypto-Currency world. I am sure there are people in our industry that have done business with, or met for other occasions people like Bill Gates, Steve Ballmer and Michael Dell. There may be people in our industry that have secured multi-million dollar government contracts for personal computers. There may even be someone in our industry that was CEO of a publicly traded personal computer company. (probably just one, our very own Dyna).

What I am VERY sure of is this: There is no one that is better qualified than Dyna to lead a development team in this crazy, volatile world of Crypto-Currency. Dyna is one of the most humble souls I have known in my 56 years. He would never brag about things like competing head to head with Dell for the PC market. Or that his company was the first to put the power supply "in the box". Anybody here remember when computers came with a separate power supply? Dyna was there to witness, and be part of the birth and shaping of the modern Personal Computer. He knows how to run a company. He understands business at a level few can match. He understands the financial system. He was a visionary in the '80's and '90's. Listen carefully what he has to say.

That is EXACTLY what I took away from this interview also. The folks that are "into" cryptocurrency are all about features that an ordinary consumer cares little or nothing about. "Ordinary" consumers (the masses) only want a few VERY IMPORTANT things from money, whether it be fiat currency or crypto currency. Is it safe? Is it easy to use? If i keep it instead of spend it, will it hold it's value?

Very well stated, Yoda.......

The potential for DNotes is huge. We are looking forward to the full support from our community.

137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Comparison of DNotes to top 12 Coins in Marketcap on: September 21, 2014, 12:31:55 PM
Someone on Crypto Moms asked for an update on the most profitable coins.  From another thread, I had lists of the top 12 altcoins on Feb. 24, June 4, and today Sept. 20.  Here's what I found out:

The following is a list of every coin that was in the top 12 on Coinmarketcap on the following dates:  Feb. 24, June 4, and Sept. 20.  I've included DNotes in this list to show what you would have today if you had invested $100 in each of these coins 6 months ago.  Maidsafe, BitSharesX, BitcoinDark, and Monero are in one of the top 12 lists, but don't have a long enough track record to include them.

DNotes           $1341.88
Darkcoin            438.17
BlackCoin           122.02
Bitcoin                 76.03
Counterparty        68.77
Quark                  67.88
Nxt                      67.69
Mastercoin           60.76
Peercoin              53.16
Ripple                 38.96
BitShares-PTS      38.76
Namecoin            38.28
Dogecoin             35.29
Litecoin               28.89
Primecoin            24.61
Sexcoin               19.06
Freicoin                7.70
Auroracoin             .27

That is a pleasant surprise. I would have expected DNotes to do well as a consistent above average performer in terms of long-term appreciation but would not have expected it to be so far ahead compared to the others. Excluding newer candidates not meeting the 6 month qualifier and using $100 as a yardstick seems reasonable and objective. Personally, I don’t place a high value for a time period of less than 1 year. I certainly hope that Chase will continue to post the most profitable coins for years to come. Great job and thanks.

Very surprising information! The price of DNotes really does not surprise me. (as much). The price of the other 12 is what floors me. Since I only have holdings in DNotes, I really have not paid attention to most other coins. It looks to me as though most traders either lose money or make very little. This market moves at lightning speed, making buy and hold very dangerous (unless you pick the right one to buy and hold).

As a casual observer, the crypto-currency market looks VERY dangerous and VERY complicated. I think the only way for a casual investor to make money is "buy and hold". (or get lucky as hell). It is the same for every market, except in this market, the confusion, complications and unknowns are MUCH greater than most, putting the casual investor at a much greater disadvantage.

Just my view from the Flower Garden........

I have a plan for my daughters a portion of my daughters college.  She's 4 so that will be in 2028.  Today I purchased 5 ZenHashlet Solo's from GAWminer. Hashlets are 1 MH/s Cloudminers costing about $20.95 and are paid out in BTC daily for those not familiar. These mine on one of various different multipools, I use the Zenpool because they are the most profitable. They have been averaging about 0.0005611525 BTC ($.266875) per day after maintenance costs.  You can set these up in a mater of minutes and they can be set to reinvest the mining profits automatically toward more miners at a 5% discount.  Now assuming the pool can retain it it $.26 profit per unit each day and the price of a hashlet remains the same and is readily available, you will have 507 in a years time producing $131.82 Daily in BTC or $48,118 per year. If you cash out half of that and invest it cautiously and retain the other half strategically in crypto you should be able to have a nice chunk of money for college set aside.  14 years worth for me I'm hoping she can go to the University of her choice, and come out of it completely debt free and as a graduation present have a mining farm that will hopefully still be producing a nice little profit for he to start out with.  Anyone interested in Hashlets let me know and I'll be happy to try and answer any questions.

This is an interesting read.

I would love to get a portion of my paycheck in bitcoin.

Perhaps, one day we can offer you a choice; USD, Bitcoin or that one with "reliable long-term appreciating value." Or would you prefer to have your DNotes deposited in one of our family of CR.I.S.Ps. What is that? Stay tuned.

That sounds like a great plan. It is easy to forget that if a little is added to your savings everyday it amounts to something every year. After many years it becomes quite sizable. An attractive compound effect is very favorable over the long-term. I just hope that your assumptions will continue to hold true. Sometimes, there are many things beyond one's control. As a good investment practice, it is a good idea not to put all your investment (all eggs) in one basket.

As part of an overall investment portfolio, it is a good investment strategy to allocate a small percentage (5% to 10%) to be invested in high risk/higher return situations. Unfortunately, this is the area where the most mistakes are made.

Selecting high risk candidates is extremely difficult. There are always more bad selections than good selections. Of course, you want to pick the right ones. Otherwise instead of getting ahead, you fall behind.

It is extremely important to take your time, be as objective as you can, and continue to narrow down your selections. Don’t let your emotion get the better part of you. Excitement is not a guarantee of high returns. Don’t buy into the claim that this is a once in a life time investment opportunity. The same person could be making the same claim on a different investment the following week.

If you have a choice, give preference to the ones that already has a demonstrated track record consistent with their claims or missions. Most businesses failed to deliver what they represented in their business plan.

If you are fortunate enough, getting in on ground floor opportunities can make a huge difference. Let us take a closer look at Bitcoin and DNotes value appreciation tracks:

Bitcoin:

01-03-09         Genesis block established

10-05-09      Exchange Rate  published $1 = 1,309.03 BTC

05-22-10      Pizza  purchased with 10,000 BTC = $25
                   or $1 = 400 BTC

09-12-13      $132.59 = 1 BTC  (exactly one year ago)

09-12-14       $471.71 = 1 BTC   (Today)

DNotes:

02-18-14   Genesis block established

02-26-14   1st Day on Exchange closed at $1 = 400 DNotes
                Once it settled (30 days) $1 = 2,000 DNotes

09-12-14   $1 = 200 DNotes  (Today)

This is just to demonstrate that picking the right investment and investing at the right time can make a huge difference.

Bitcoin is not going away. It will remain as the backbone of our industry for years to come and as demand grows its value will increase. For long term investors Bitcoin is a good store of value. However, it is already priced to perfection with limited potential for near-term price appreciation. DNotes could be a better choice. Stay tuned for my next blog.

This post hit home for me on the "Store of Value" point Dyna has been explaining to us. On the surface, Bitcoin looks like a fantastic Store of Value, until you look deeper into it. The daily price of Bitcoin is very volatile. Dnotes has not only shown more increase in value as the coin ages, BUT...the important part: DNotes has been STABLE. Stability is as important as increase in value.

Bitcoin took over a year to increase 10X, Dnotes has done that in six months, and remained stable, with higher highs and higher lows than Bitcoin. Bitcoin has been a great store of value, up until now. Bitcoin may have maxed out.

What if you would have if you would bought 10 bucks worth of Bitcoin 16 months after release? You would have bought 4000 Bitcoins for 10 bucks! What is it worth four years later? Almost Two Million Dollars!! If you compare Bitcoin with DNotes, the first difference you will see is the difference in Price Stability. In fact, compare ANY coin to DNotes and the first thing you will notice is the Price Stability of DNotes. No other coin has it. When we realize that Price Stability is CRITICAL to be considered an acceptable Store of Value, and Store of Value is CRITICAL to widespread acceptance, then DNotes is the ONLY candidate for widespead acceptance, as of now.

When you look at the Bitcoin example above, ANYONE that knew ANYTHING about crypto-currency would buy 10 bucks worth of DNotes, for not only their kids and grandkids, but for EVERY family member! (Even the brother-in-law that borrows from ya all the time!).

Price Stability = Good Store of Value. Good Store of Value = Merchant Acceptance. Merchant Acceptance = Widespread Use. Widespread Use = Returns BETTER THAN BITCOIN!!

Buy DNotes for the family. You could very well be a Hero, and everyone's favorite Aunt or Uncle!!

I happen to be very analytical and more result oriented. I often project the end result, or the end game, that I like to accomplish. With a goal that is quantifiable, it is possible to examine various options and pick the best one that gives you the highest probability of achieving your goal with maximum returns.

This philosophy carries over to our development as well. We explore and exhaust all available options before choosing the end design.

I think it carries back to birth for Dyna!! Remember, he was the one who masterminded Smokeys Gardens's success. I was not even sure what a Daylily was in 2007 when Dyna presented a business plan to grow and sell Daylilies. By 2012, we were among the largest growers of Daylilies in the world. Dyna knew where we needed to go and how to get there. You, (DNotes), were the one who got us to the very top of the list for internet traffic for our websites. Dyna had a plan to be where we are, and had a plan on how to get there. I still remember thinking........this Old Man is crazy to think that we could transition from a 30 year old retail/service operation to a internet-based, mail order business growing flowers!!

I have learned over the past 10 years that I have worked with Dyna to NEVER underestimate his long-range forecasts. I have learned more from him in the last ten years than I did in the previous 30 years as a business owner........Dyna can see the future like Dale Earnhardt could "see the air". Smokeys Gardens and DNotes are just two examples of that.

Hi all,

Long time lurker here. I was introduced to Dnotes by my mate TeeGee. I have a a decent holding of them and have introduced a few other mates also. I have seen this currency steadily climb since I was introduced and I am very impressed when you compare it to other coins that jump around like a leprechaun on crack.

I read this thread quite often and one thing that stuck out to me was the mention of the three functions of money. The mention of it having to be used as a medium of exchange was followed by an explanation that it is exchanged on various coin exchanges. To me this is not meeting this criterion.

Gold is also exchanged on exchanges, as is oil, wheat,  steel etc. This does not make them great mediums of exchange but it means they are being exchanged.

For Dnotes to be adopted and accepted as a real currency it must be able to be used to buy things. So far Bitcoin is the only coin that really fulfils this. If coins are not being actively used as a medium of exchange then the price comes from pure speculation not an inherent value. Failure to address this issue is what will result in Bitcoin reigning supreme at the end of the day and all of the other altcoins crashing and burning in its wake.

Please answer me this: Why would I used another digital currency other than Bitcoin? If I am an everyday person I might not understand how it works but I have a Bitcoin wallet and some Bitcoin and I can buy things in many places. This involves a lot of infrastructure behind this coin to be able to do this. Why would I have another address with a different currency with a different value to do the same?

Don't get me wrong , I wish this currency every success. But issues need to be addressed and discussed for it to become a useful currency beyond the exchanges.

Hi AlphaD,

Great points. Thanks for your support.

You are right. For DNotes to be adopted and accepted as real currency people must be able to buy things with it. At this point, it has not reached that stage. This is of course an area it is addressing. Again you are right that failure to address this issue is what will result in many altcoins failing. Store of value is however important for people to hold a coin in the first place. Here DNotes has shown great stability which it must continue to show. People will continue to hold or buy this currency if they feel that it is likely to appreciate and equally importantly their investment is not risky. This means what they will want is low volatility with a slow steady upwards drift. If a currency can exhibit this behavior then this in an of itself is a significant achievement. Among many currencies out there, DNotes uniquely does exhibit this behavior. Thus (one of) the requirements for people to hold this coin is being met. At this point, it is more akin to gold than to US dollar. It is a safe investment.

For it to become a bonafide medium of exchange it must be accepted widely by merchants. That ability however is supported by currency stability. Wide acceptance and ability to buy things not supported by price stability will lead to liquidation. I think stability and appreciation requirements are being met and now it must move towards being widely accepted. I think the successful wide adoption is a function of price stability. So I think we are getting to the next logical objective here and should address it.

The only answer I have to your question is if you are afraid that bitcoin will depreciate significantly or will be very volatile, you will not hold it despite its wide acceptance. Unfortunately, bitcoin indeed has been volatile.

Wow. I feel like the class clown among a room full of Albert Einsteins. All very good points. For me, it all boils down to this: The market leader will be a coin that most resembles actual cash, in addition to all the advantages a Digital Currency brings to the table. No coin available today possesses all three of the requirements outlined by Dyna, including Bitcoin (too volatile). No coin, other than DNotes have shown price stability. DNotes is the only coin to have shown stability from from birth.

BTW.........the comment by AlphaD....."when you compare it to other coins that jump around like a leprechaun on crack"........had me laughing so hard I about passed out!!!!!!
