121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling experience using loan money on: August 19, 2023, 06:42:21 PM
If we don't have a strong will to leave gambling or reduce gambling time, it's indeed difficult to do and it's all up to them. And before gambling addiction gets bigger, we should be aware of it and seek help as soon as possible to prevent it from worsening.

The important thing is that we are open and willing to contact or ask for help from others when we feel something is wrong with our lives. This will give us the opportunity to change the lifestyle that we may have lived for a while so that we can change a better lifestyle. Gambling is entertainment and we must not get so immersed in gambling that we cannot get out easily. That can't be happening.
But there must be ways to strengthen our will, like having an inspiration. Why you are deciding to stop gambling? Is it because of your family, wife/gf, or others? We shouldn't say "it's all up to them". If they are struggling, we need to help them. Imagine if the same thing happen to us and they will say the exact words. We can feel hopeless.

Sometimes people don't make a move if their condition is not yet worse but starting from now, we better not be confident and do some sacrifices than to regret. So, many people are keeping their gambling activity as a secret and the more they will do it if they are addicted already. Maybe these people will try to seek help online because they can mask their identity there.
122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots fever on: August 19, 2023, 05:38:15 PM
I think that is one of the things that attract a lot of people to gambling, because they manage to win a big amount of money.. with a very small amount of money and then they are hooked. I even have the conspiracy theory that there are some special "Server Seed" being used for "newbie" gamblers.... and once you are hooked.... then you are switched to a "bad" Server seed.

I know it is highly unlikely that casinos will be able to do this, but in my experience... it always starts out very good... and then over time, you just keep on losing more regularly.  Roll Eyes
It's actually the main thing as we all know money is more important to many of us but it's justifiable because almost every move that we make requires or depends on money. As for your theory, I'm not sure if I can believe on that as sometimes I can win as a newbie in one casino but on the other I lose. Maybe it also has to do with a beginners luck? There are instances that we can win even if we are an old player of the casino.

I think one thing is sure and that is; it's only based on our luck (as long as the casino is legit) because if not, they can do some manipulations. Casinos are not a charity so it's normal that the more we play the more we lose.
123  Economy / Economics / Re: Bad economic situation makes bitcoins more difficult to keep. on: August 18, 2023, 06:34:15 PM
Not everyone in poor countries suffers from poverty in terms of their standard of living and more have the opportunity to plan and make any investment including bitcoin. Likewise, not all residents of rich countries have decent jobs.

This is a matter of the individual economy, unless you are referring to a state of crisis in which case it can impact all the economic status of everyone in that country.
There will always be a division between poor and rich in all countries no matter what that country identifies as in economic context. To put it simply, I agree with you, not everyone who lives in a poor country has a poor lifestyle, and not everyone who lives in a rich country has a better economic status and standard of living. Hence, the area or location wouldn't matter as much as the individual situation of a person on wether or not they will be able to hold Bitcoin and invest.
That's not the same everywhere though. In nations like the USA or UK or even small and poor nations like Zimbabwe or whatever, we could see a huge wealth gap and that makes sense, they are liberal nations with liberal values that makes people very rich and the poor stays very poor.

But in a nation like Switzerland, you do not see a wealth gap all that much, the poorest there and the richest people do not have that much of a difference, and on average people live the same life, a dude that washes the dishes do not make THAT much lesser than the guy who cooks and they accept this as the norm and they do not have any problems. In nations like USA "how could washing dishes should be worth as a chef!!!" and they just create the gap themselves.
124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What resources do you have for members who may be dealing with addiction? on: August 18, 2023, 05:56:45 PM
I'll search first for the local hotline if there's any help that's available in one's location. That's the best I can give as a resource for people who are dealing with addiction. But with most of them that are too shy about their problem and addiction to gambling, it's best to post it on forums like this because they're giving every detail that they need to provide for them to get some help. A little conversation could really turn the tide and they're even going to be grateful that they've found a community like this.
This, immediately? But maybe your addiction is already on a higher level. If it was still at the early stage, I will do some self remedy first and if it seems not working, that must be the time to seek for a professional help.

I can prefer the international one because I'm also a shy type of a person and I think they are more effective on handling the issue than the local ones. The forum we currently have is mainly for crypto discussion so we may not get the best advice here but there are forums which are dedicated for the gambling addicts. They can try that one. However if the if the addiction is not severe yet, then maybe Bitcointalk can also work.
125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A person who won 600k$ in lottery on: August 18, 2023, 05:14:02 PM
I think its rather a norm already that anyone who wins a lottery will end up spending the money unwisely, i mean this has been happening for decades now and the story never seems to end, I was reading a book one day, and in one of the pages, the author said that over 95 percent of those who win the lottery always end up in poverty, why?, he went further to explain that it is because they never plan for such money, that they might have a plan quite alright, but the chances of them not having a plan for such big money is one of the reasons why most of them end up going back to being poor, but then, this just one,..

Some people also believe that lottery monies are caused money, that the reason why most of the lottery winners end up being poor is more of a spiritual something than the physical, that it can only take someone who can see in the spiritual to know the real reason behind why lottery money never tend to stay in the hands of their winners, anyways, this is entirely a different discussion altogether, and i hope that one day, we will get to discuss this here.
No not anyone but maybe majority yes. It's normal to spend unwisely at first because the money that you win is huge and all of has their own dream stuffs to buy. After that, we can also pause and think to use the money wisely so that it will last long.

It's kinda creepy if they say that lottery money are cursed but at least, people already have fun even for a short period of time and they will never experience that if they haven't won the lottery. Many Chinese people are rich and they are also spiritual so I kind a agree on that part but I think many of them are not a gambler because they know the value of money and they know that they have a small chance to win on them.
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: new token idea on: August 17, 2023, 06:51:32 PM
The token idea is okay, but what you need to know is that every token created has to solve a problem or have a product, because cryptocurrency market has to deal with products and services, and which product or service the coin going to give and everything has to be stated in whitepepper which can attract crypto communities more.
For me I think it isn't, so sorry, but I understand because the @OP said that he is a newbie in the crypto world. Maybe this project can still be accepted only for him to gain an experience since some people like you still like it. OP already explained how his project works. It does provide a solution in the payment field. Not all cryptos created are useful but many of them are just a scam.

There are some which use case are not original. These projects still has their own whitepapers, but of course not all written on it are accurate so we should not only depend on it when looking for a coin to invest but we should also check out other things.
127  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading with Quantum Computing and AI on: August 17, 2023, 05:45:50 PM
Considering ApexOne AI can produce a stable return of around 1.2% daily I'm happy with their performance. They are 35% more efficient than your standard trading bot.
If a crypto platform guarantees you return then it is safe to assume they are nothing but a scam. So don't waste your time to convince others about how great the platform is.

FYI, Quantum computing is still in the concept stage and many tech companies like google are trying to develop it but it may take another few decades to know whether it is possible in real so this proves the platform you are talking is lying so its an obvious scam.
I heard that this Quantum Computing is so powerful that it can make Bitcoin and other cryptos less secure and it is seems not a new thing anymore but up until now, it is not clear if a finished product is already available. Maybe the platform here is only using that name to look innovative.

AI on the other hand is very legit and it is now being used up anywhere. Yet in terms of trading, I agree with what others have said that anyone even the experts, can't have a guaranteed income with it. If we are talking about staking, lending and the likes, then it is possible and a small return ( APY/APR ) is usually the one that is realistic or not a scam.
128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Calling all high rollers ($300,000 bet) on: August 17, 2023, 05:15:06 PM
What happened to your two hands? Why can't you place this bet yourself? And even if this money is real why would you want to risk 250k on it because you have confidence in the game? Confidence is not enough for this game to go your way, you can lose everything.
I am not sure if he is disabled or not but he already said that his account is limited and he is looking for an account with a higher limit. It's not my first time seeing his name but he is kind an active in the gambling board so I think this guy here is trusted and he is also going to use an escrow. He won't risk that high if he don't have a confidence so yeah. You're right. Confidence alone is not enough in sports betting especially if you are going to risk a huge amount.

This guy is also skill full and we don't know, what if he had some insider info ( match fixing ?) If ever he still lose, rest assure that he is still going to be fine. It's his easy not ours so just be calm.
129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: As a gambler do you have a potential winning amount limit? on: August 17, 2023, 03:42:51 PM
As for myself i don't have because I will be glad to win as much as possible if the opportunity is presented, but i think the gambling platforms will have that in place but they would have disclose their conditions in their policies or ToS, it is very common that we all have the desire to make win on any amount without limit except if set by the casino, i wouldn't hesitate embracing wining big as such found with winning a jackpot in my gambling experience than setting a limit because everyone needs money if the chance is given to make some or get rich through gambling.
So that means you can also go beyond your betting limits at any time you like or whether you are feeling lucky? HHmm... But I think it's fine as long as you can handle your losses very well and you won't have that inappropriate feelings. You are right. Gambling platforms do also has their own limits but it was usually too huge and I don't think you are a whale player, so don't worry about it.

You won't exceed on them, and you can always achieve the winning amount that you want if luck permits. Not all are like you so some of us has their own limits or expectations depending on the amount that we are using. For me, of course I expect big even if the amount staked is only small but I rarely achieved it.
130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling discussion effect on: August 17, 2023, 03:23:26 AM
I don't feel any urge to gamble, just because I read a bunch of forum posts about "gambling strategies".
The term "gambling strategy" is nonsense, because no gambling strategy had made any consistent profits in the history of gambling. The gamblers, who are discussing gambling strategies think that they could trick and outsmart the casino, which is totally delusional.
If you are feeling such desire to gamble, this might be the beginning of a gambling addiction and you should be careful.
I just gamble for fun and I don't care at all about gambling strategies or ways to make money via gambling. You can't make consistent money via gambling.
In my case I did once only, after I read a strategy about slot games because that was also the time I started checking slots out. The strategies are only basic like you need to choose a slot with the xx percent of RTP and you need to switch on the other slot games once you feel that the previous slot you play is not doing well after a few spins.

There are no well-detailed or major strategies because slots are only a luck-based game. Other than a forum post, I believe that the one that can truly attract a person to play gambling is the catchy ads that they see on the web or on the apps that they use and then the casino streamers that they accidentally see in the social media sites.
131  Economy / Economics / Re: People don't understand the problem with monetary system. on: August 16, 2023, 06:35:41 PM
It seems that it still takes quite a lot of time to make more people understand about Bitcoin and how this amazing Decentralized system can help them understand more about how this system can help them a little. People nowadays tend to prefer things that are simple and practical. They don't like trying to understand things they really need to understand like the fiat system they use every day. But I'm pretty sure that for the next generation, the knowledge about the world of finance will be more evenly distributed. Because now the government has actually started to move in providing good financial literacy to its people. Even the government in my country is also quite enthusiastic about sharing insights regarding the progress of digitalization including crypto and Bitcoin in it.
It got a lot more attention and that is why they all started to take a look at it. It is not really a big shocker considering that we are talking about something that would be quite understandable, it is not really unlikely that something like this would ever happen. We know that it will be a normal situation and we need to realize that life is not that simple like we would just keep it to ourselves, it is going to keep happening all the time.

I know that people are not entirely sure about what happens, but basically when something gets too popular, governments start to take a look at it from bottom level and grow to highest level possible if it gets too big. That has happened, since 2017 governments checked it out until now.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are altcoins important? on: August 16, 2023, 03:32:06 PM
Scam, death both have in altcoins market so why you want investing altcoins?
My opinion buy dip and sold faster on some profits like to be best revenge for all altcoins investors!
What's your skills and opinion?
in my view Altcoins can influence the broader market dynamics of cryptocurrencies. Changes in the value, popularity, or technology of altcoins can impact market sentiment and even affect Bitcoin's price. Additionally, altcoins provide alternative trading opportunities for cryptocurrency traders.
I'm sure altcoins will have no effect on the bitcoin price. For me, altcoins are like a kind of testing ground for experiments. Each new altcoin created brings positive changes.
Usually it was the Bitcoin who can affect the altcoin the most, not the other way around. Before a new altcoin is released, developers needs to test it first or they can do an experiment but after it, they can deploy the project in its final state. Bitcoin is already a finished product so they can't experiment on it anymore but I heard that some experts are experimenting something which can then be used in Bitcoin to make Bitcoin more functional.

It sounds interesting and if it's a success, it could surely attract more people in Bitcoin. Not all new altcoins are useful but many of them are only a scam. They only bring negative changes in the market.
133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 16, 2023, 01:35:31 PM
the Indian team management needs to immediately introspect as to why the player’s who perform so well in IPL failed and they should take bold decisions and drop some player’s so all get the message i.e. perform or perish. Also those are decent figures for the T20 format except the last match where he could have done better but I’m sure that he’ll learn from this thrashing and perform better in the next match.
Losing a series against team like West Indies is surely bad, but now it's good time for keeping things on right way and allow these youngsters for few more matches because now they already have their lessons and can go for the positive change in coming matches now India is heading for the three twenty/20 against Ireland and surely this is also good for their practice and experience hopefully they will do better and have more skills and improvement for the future.

Now bringing old players in while-ball format is surely not good as we need more space for the new generation and keep these legendary players in IPL and test format for the rest of their career because from there we need new blood which will keep flag high and surely positive results will also start soon as they will have more matches against big teams.
134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots fever on: August 15, 2023, 06:44:25 PM
To be honest, I do not understand those people who watch streamers. In my opinion, this time can be spent more useful.

As it seems to me, first of all, people going to play gambling should fully understand what they have a chance for a big win and already from this proceed in their desires. Most gamblers, especially beginners, do not realize that the casino has an advantage over the player. They seek to beat the casino, which as we know to do quite difficult and the likelihood of this is highly dependent on luck.
That is what this streamers do,they instill a false sense of security and confidence in the new gamblers and these new gamblers immediately want to try out the exact slot that these streamers are showing in their videos. As I said before these new gamblers don't know that the part uploaded in the video service is the only part where they win but I am sure they have played much longer to get that max win shown in the video. Also I agree with you these newcomers rush to deposit and play and do not know at all what the RTP or house edge are which are in place exactly to make the casino profitable in the long run.
Maybe some but some are only doing this because they want to show the world what they are doing or they don't want to be lonely playing alone in their own room but maybe some people can get motivated and try to do the same. They only need to be realistic and realize that the same outcome may not happen to them, especially in a game of luck like gambling.

Sometimes a streamer can experience a loss too but those viewers who play the same game can get lucky and win. That is what I'm talking about. If the video is not live, it's obvious that only the highlights are being uploaded the most but a wise person will know that these people also experiencing a lot of losses.
135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Possible measures to stop online gambling addiction. on: August 15, 2023, 05:39:32 PM
Stopping advertisement, disciplined bank roll and shutting Internet won't help in stopping the addiction. If you are addicted then first acknowledge your addiction and then work on the probable solution. It is not easy to acknowledge that is for sure. My simple suggestion would be to join a group of addicticts who are facing the same problem and want to get rid of it. A proper councelling can also help in stopping an addict from ruining his life and that of the others.
Counseling is the best option here, if you’re already addict you already need professional advice and of course a big support from your family. Being addict can cause a lot of depression, stress and anxiety especially if you are losing money. Getting away on any platform with regards to gambling can help but I see this as an temporary solution, if you really want to recover then start looking for help.
I think I can agree on it because there is no way we can totally stop the ads about gambling. We are only too small for them. We also can't shut down the internet because it is useful on other things that we do or our family members are using it. Speaking of family members, some of them won't care to their other family members and then an addicted gambler can also hide his condition to his family members. If that is the case, we can only see the experts on our own.

It only becomes a problem if we don't have other sources of income because we already use our money in gambling as we are addicted to it. Anyway, we can try seeking a help from other people, to our friends or to our local government. Maybe there are also some who offer a free service in regards to this matter.
136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Peer pressure as a substantial gambling catalyst. on: August 15, 2023, 05:00:01 PM
When I was in highschool almost all of my friends were betting on sports. That was their daily “job”. It was impossible to interact with them unless you also do their thing, bet on sports… That indeed put a pressure on me and made me do what they were doing. I became a gambler too. I was also doing my research on teams, coaches, players just like they were doing and it worked. I made lots of friends like that. Did I make money through? No, I was a terrible gambler.
Yes, I also started gambling due to my environment at first I did not consider myself as a gambler, for me it just for fun but there is a money that is involve and I am very competitive to win that time. During that time I remember we are playing chess and who will win the game he could get the prize, and sometimes we are watching volleyball during intrams we are betting on which grade will be the winner.
This is usually the case that happens, that we can get influenced by the people around us. If it's gambling, I won't immediately say it's bad but it is only if we can't control our selves anymore. If we see the people around us already addicted, we shouldn't join them first but we need to help them return to normal as one condition and maybe this will help them to recover quickly.

When we are just getting started, obviously we are not yet an addict. We are still innocent that time. You are literally gambling for fun there because you are betting and bonding with your friends at the same time, enjoying the activity that you guys love. So it's okay if you won't win.
137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Latest Game in my Country: Bottle Flip on: August 15, 2023, 04:08:21 PM
How is this topic related to gambling or gambling discussion? This is off-topic.

On local gambling sites, I do not see any gambling like this. On crypto gambling sites, there is nothing like this. This is just to make fun and nothing more. This is not about gambling except people that will use it to bet among themselves.
OP said that people are "sometimes using money to bet" so I guess we can still consider this as a form of gambling. Even though the game is not really new, I think many people are still not betting on it. And that may be the reason on why it is not included by the casinos.

The mechanics of the game is too simple but unlike other simple games, I can't seem to appreciate this one or I find it boring. Sorry OP but the game seems like relying mostly on the skill of the player so there is a potential to make money on it if we take this seriously. I can't only imagine if how can this work online but maybe it will be played live like sports betting.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Suggest Some Underrated potential altcoins for next bull run on: August 15, 2023, 06:45:05 AM
Why not add BNB to your list? they are working well to develop their products and making constant updates to stay on top of the exchanges despite having some issues with SEC. They are not ceasing to offer new products to their investors and their exchange is user-friendly as well which will obviously attract more users than the others. The best thing to do is to search for such traits on a project and consider buying their tokens if the price is reasonable and not too expensive.
He said underrated but BNB is already known to be a good coin. BNB is from Binance and it was Binance who is working well on improving its products mainly the exchange. The use case of BNB is simple and it doesn't need any modification anymore.

It can still get a good demand because it has a good use inside Binance other than making the coin as a currency and an asset for investing and trading. They have an issue with SEC but that was last time and I think it was already resolved so we should not worry anymore. Any problems that Binance face are surely going to be resolved by them because they already built an empire in the crypto world and they can't afford to lose it anymore.
139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: August 14, 2023, 02:55:39 PM
Happy Independence Day @ThemePen. Pakistan is in good form after winning the series against New Zealand. The series is won 4-1 and during the series new Fakhar Zaman played really well. Pakistan squad includes the best and Afghanistan team is also doing good with its win in the previous series against Bangladesh. Hope the upcoming Pakistan vs Afghanistan series will be very interesting to watch and I expect atleast a win from Afghanistan.
Pakistan series with Afghanistan is important for Pakistan in a sense that if Pakistan win this series then they will move to number one odi team spot. Pakistan match with Afghanistan is always tight as Afghanistan always try there best to win the contest. Pakistan need to be very careful while playing with Afghanistan as they have the capability to win the ODI series.
Yeah every match is now counted with we are heading for the big event - ODI world Cup which is going to start in few months, so teams are preparing for this all now Afghanistan is also good side which can do any upset in any event or against any team, so things could be not easy for the Pakistan in this series specially before Asia Cup.

Again we have change of management in Pakistan Cricket Board with Inzimam is back as Chief Selector which is never been ideal situation for them and many players because in past we have many allegations and biased selection against him which is not good even not new in Pakistan cricketing culture, but they need to work on for better future of this game as they have many natural cricketers which are doing impressive performance for the years.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Layerzero, Zksync airdrop hype over, is it next Zetachain ? on: August 13, 2023, 06:25:15 PM
I never go all-in on a single project only. I always diversify and keeping my options open. Zetachain might be a sleeping giant as it does not really trend much, but I liked it though.

Building something great in silence before the big noise happens.

More L1, L2 and L3 projects are on the rise these days and may surprise us with their own airdrops in the future. But we must not expect too much though, but it's better to plant early before the big rain.
Going all in is always risky so it's better to just gradually put money or having another kind of investment. To keep an option sounds costly but it shouldn't be a problem to you because you can afford it and maybe you are also doing your research properly to make sure that most ( if not all ) of your assets will do well.

Zetachain seems a new project so I wouldn't term it as a sleeping giant, and if it's not in trend then it could mean that people are not amaze with it, but there is still a chance that it can make a comeback like what happened to Pepe so try to plant some seed or invest a couple of your dollars on it. That way, it wouldn't be bad if it won't bear a fruit.
