122  Bitcoin / Mining / Cost break downs of Mining rigs? on: April 27, 2015, 01:51:42 PM
A while ago someone had a page that did all the math on cost per /kw/gh/BTCperday/cost with ROI and stuff, I can't seem to find it.. anyone have any ideas on or have a link to any sites that have done the maths?
123  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S4+ available for global sales on April 20th, shipping within one week on: April 22, 2015, 03:34:19 AM
@bitmain

Can you tell me about the Capacitors on this?Huh  I am looking at cheating and moving your product to a full immersion mineral oil bath.

The only issues I've ever had with Mineral oil cooling is when cheap Capacitors are used, and they plastic swells and bursts from the mineral oil.

I'll have some 6K pictures either today or tomorrow of internals.

Thank you!

About 1/3rd of the pictures are processed No caps anywhere on the hashing board and none that I could see on the controller either. Cables on the non PCI-E version of the PSU are very long so this should be good to dunk.

Only just got my unit started on the testing rack so a full review will be some time, but surprised with the noise. I thought the 40mm PSU fan was going to be an issue but its inaudible over the main fans. That means noise levels appear identical to the S4 above 25C, and slightly louder above as it runs hotter.

No Fans no noise..... Smiley

@bitmain

You update S5 but you never update C1, its like you want C1 to fail... why?
128  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / New Bitmain Products? S4+ and S7? on: April 11, 2015, 03:08:28 PM
I was told they would be announcing them shortly, a few weeks ago, why are they not out yet? Do you think they are waiting to sell out of S5s and S3+?

@Bitmain - Please let us know I'd like to get in line to pick up a few of each.
129  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: March 31, 2015, 08:47:09 PM
Getting my first C1 later this week with a new and dry cooling kit. What's the best coolant options to fill it with? Looking for max cooling to keep fan noise low.

Distilled Water...
130  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Recent Antminer S5 prices on: March 25, 2015, 09:26:03 PM
S5 is a really nice miner but loud and need some modification to be fully home miner.

I will buy every S5 for S5  Tongue

Wondering when the next gen come. Cant wait to see the spec  Grin

The S7 and the S4+ are coming...... I give it a week before they announce

1 week? Are you sure ? There is a long thread on the speculaton fo the S6 and still nothing.

They probably want to clear all there S5 remaining before publishing the S6

Would you like to put BTC on it?

April 1st by the latest for S4+ June 1 for S7 .. No S6 to be released .5BTC on it to anyone willing to accept the bet.

To be More Specific:

In about two weeks they will be releasing an upgraded version of the S4, called the S4+, which has the same size/design specs as the original S4 but uses the newer generation of chips, for a higher hashrate and better power efficiency. They will actually skip the S6 model number, and the new S7 model should be available in June or July of this year. Hope this helps.... Give me my Money Smiley

When my Antminer C1's get old, I plan to use them to heat the swimming pool water.

Now this is a very good idea.  If you get this working post a few photos.

Need a sacrifice anode.... the chlorine water will be bad for your gear...
133  Economy / Service Discussion / November 16th, 2015, 9am, Courtroom 7D AKA Hi Jody Drake on: March 20, 2015, 03:58:19 PM
Does anyone want to try to get a group together to sit in the public court room for that day? I believe as a Victim of BFL we have a right to be in the room. I was thinking about taking a week off just to sit in the court, and laugh about the things that happen in that court room.
134  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: March 16, 2015, 03:57:06 PM
What feature from S3+ you wanted to see in C1?

- power off / halt from web gui
- autorefresh miner status web gui (30secs)
- ntp entry on web  gui network setup
- more than 3 pools - 4 or 5
- be able to stop / restart just the cgminer process
- the reboot page from web gui  mostly works, but sometimes I have to physically power cycle for it to boot up properly ...
(and sometimes one chain is all --- & needs a power cycle to re-enable)
- rrd / stats graph of hashrate & temp for hourly, daily, weekly, monthly (like spt)
- be able to schedule start/stop of cgminer cron style in web gui (like spt)

The last couple are a wishlist and not from S3 ...

Give us the s3+ options from the pools, like to roundrobin the shares or split my hash between my pools.

Just copy the s3+ options to the C1 Smiley
135  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: March 15, 2015, 09:24:50 PM
On the C1s, if I reboot (GUI) they do not come back up cleanly, you have to reset the power switch. When I say they don't come back up cleanly, I mean the hash rate does not return to the 1000GH/s. Maybe 760 GH/s. Often times the ASICs on chain #2 or chain #3 hashing boards come up all --s or ..s

That appears to be how these boards like their power and like a hard reboot to reinitialise. It may be firmware but its more likely to be a characteristic of the boards themselves.

4 reboots always fixes it
136  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: March 12, 2015, 10:12:16 PM
I used the modified firmware and it worked fine, however bitmain just put out a new firmware for the c1s just installed it have not tested the extranonce feature yet, hopefully they added the new cgminer to it Smiley right now I am locked into the current round at the pool im in, I wont know until i change pools after this round, anyone else add the newest official firmware and know if extranonce is working on it?

its CG miner 4.7.0
137  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: March 11, 2015, 08:14:18 PM
Anyone try the new C1 firmware on the Bitmain site yet?

Interesting that the date on it is almost 3 months old...

I am confused as all hell what is going on?Huh? lol Bitmain why release soemthing 3 months late?
138  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: March 09, 2015, 01:35:14 PM
Good news, I was able to get a fully compiled firmware with the latest cgminer 4.9.0. I've been using it all day on a couple of pools for testing and it works fine. It does fully support extranonoce.subscribe feature because when I tried connecting to Westhash.com proxy/pool it gave me a green check mark and no wasted hash. One problem though, if I put a price in the password, like p=0.20 which is really high on purpose for a reason, it does not jump down to my second pool. If you just want to hash on West/Mice all out then no problems. Here is the link you can get it at.

Download away. That link will eventually expire in several days.

If you need it,just let me know. Props smit1237

just TO CONFIRM, this is a update to the C1 firm ware and will ONLY add support for CGminer 4.9.0?
139  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: March 07, 2015, 09:10:32 PM
Bitmain - will you continue to support and Update the software for the C1?Huh We are still missing features of newer machines.

Also can we get extranonoce.subscribe subscription support added?

Can this work on a C1?
