smells centralization... Nope. Just administration of the guarantee (the backing). Everything else is decentralized. The token still trades without interference from a central authority. But unlike bitcoin which has nothing backing it, Tether will have a pot of cash stashed away (with an administrator - hopefully trusted.) The admin won't be able to manipulate the token. The high level of auditing will assure the backing is well cared for.

if we are going to put usd value to bitcoin how much do you think you would need to hold in btc to become a millionaire in the next 5 years?
This will require you to buy 5 bitcoin today. Buy 5 bitcoin, hold them, sell them in 5 years - you will have over a million. No problem.

Blockchain Info thinks this address has double spends...
" You should be extremely careful when trusting any transactions "
How does one 'be careful'?

Remittances doesn't benefit Bitcoin. Bitcoin wants to be the mode of payment and be used as a currency. Remittances mean getting in and out of Bitcoin which is not too attractive.
WTF?! I am shocked how dumb the bitcoin community is. Why do you care to 'benefit Bitcoin'? The guy wants money in Pakistan - he doesn't want to 'benefit Bitcoin'. So many people here think 'buying and holding' to pump up the price is the real function of bitcoin. This is not a big pump and dump. bitcoin should benefit this guy and his family - not the other way around. As to the OP - you are have to find someone in Pakistan who wants to buy bitcoin. That is pretty much the bottom line. But look on the Brightside - this probably won't be a problem in any major city in about 1 or 2 years. Today, it might be tricky to find a trustworthy exchange partner. But, there is no way around this if you need local currency.

Is it something worth looking into? Has anyone here had any Bitcoin crowdfunding successes?
Ethereum, Maidsafe, BitShares, Mastercoin, PeerTracks all raised over a half million dollars up to several million. Ethereum = 15 Million Maidsafe = 8 Million BitShares = ?? Mastercoin = 5 million PeerTracks = ?? all raised over a half million dollars up to several million.

I am a big fan of btc but think it will be a few years yet before it meaningfully competes with wall street Wall street is pretty good at late adopting at scale to avoid being sidelined
You might not consider the MaidSafe IPO as meaningful competition, but facts are facts. Competition has started. MaidSafe did a major IPO. Shares are traded daily on an active market. MaidSafe funded themselves and distributed shares - with no lawyers and no bankers and no outrageous fees. Don't you worry, there will soon be another company going down the same path, then another, then another. Then you'll have your meaningful competition. But for now, the system is active and being used. The damn thing works!!!

It's a shame that we need to fill in so many details just to donate a few bucks.
This indicates further that Wikipedia simply doesn't understand Bitcoin.

Please do not donate to this unsophisticated ancient website.
Any respectable modern website would recognize modern convenient means of donation. I'll tell you what Wikipedia, if you publish your address, I'll send you a check. Remember checks? LOL!! Morons.
you do realize they allow bitcoin donations, right? That might be true, but they build their donation page as if they don't. So in effect, they don't. In other words, their user interface if very bitcoin unfriendly - even if they will accept bitcoin in some other medium. They need a QR code on that page or people can easily donate in bitcoin without searching around for 30 minutes. I am giving nothing. They use a coinbase payment processing widget. I find it somewhat annoying that it asks for personal information, probably for some legal reason. There's no reason you can't put fake info into their form though. This indicates further Wikipedia doesn't understand bitcoin.

The real story is that MainSafe did an IPO, raised a shitload of money, continues to trade actively today - all without a single fucking Wall Street lawyer or banker or the SEC. That is an incredible feat for sure. Elimination of Wall Street manipulations and crooked bankers is what is really going on. MaidSafe did it with huge balls. Their public offering was remarkable. The press can't even figure out how they accomplished that. Cryptocurrency - brilliant. Wall Street - finish.

Police apprehended the famous Bitcoin founder while in the middle of seminar he was conducting for Stop Masturbation Now, a Christian anti-masturbation organization. LOL! I wonder why Satoshi doesn't like jerking off?

lol this dude sounds a bit desperate, he's on the defensive all the way through the video.
When has MasterCard gone to great lengths to stop something in the past? - never. Today, they've hired many lawyers and lobbyists to go to congress to stop Bitcoin. Now they are taking senior executives time making YouTube videos begging people to be worried about untrustworthy Bitcoin. Bottom line: they are shitting bricks. They know the end is near for their business methods. Can't trust Bitcoin?! HA! Can't trust Visa/MasterCard. Bitcoin is a trustless system. There is no need to 'trust' anyone or anything. It just works. On the other hand, you can trust MasterCard for sure - you can trust they are going to take a bunch of your money in fees. This is guaranteed. I am laughing my head off as I did not expect this kind of desperation for several more years. Bitcoin is way ahead of what I imagined. The funny thing is, this guy probably understands Bitcoin at a much higher level than his peers. This is why he is so worried and the others are just sitting around.

So in closing, I hope this post shed some light on the topic but I would kindly ask you not to reply.
Very sincerely,
not reply?! - ha -- Fuck you! That would be stupid. Do you think I am going to let you publish a huge list of misinformation and conclude with: 'don't reply'? Why can you put forth your bullshit, and others are expected to stay silent? Let me answer: it is because you are a troll cybersquatter who sits on domain names and tries to extract money from people who actually are building nice internet businesses. Domain name squatting isn't clever. The spirit of the whole thing is quite bad. It arises only from a mere quirk in the registration rules and trademark laws. The nature of what you are doing is corrupt and foul. You are a pig. Go learn to write some code and build something nice for bitcoin rather than sitting around trying to swipe thousands from people just because you ran to the registration desk before they did.

Please adjust your links... and yes, I noticed Comments are disabled for this video. It is interesting to ask : "who is he speaking to"? Who is he trying to convince? Does he want the consumer to avoid bitcoin? Does he want a merchant to mistrust bitcoin? No. Neither of these. He is actually speaking to himself. He is trying to convince himself bitcoin is bad. He knows he will lose his whole company very soon - so he is trying to convince himself of the evils of Bitcoin.

World's Largest Bitcoin Project Now Seeking Venture Capital
Domain name cybersquatting is rather boring. Why do you think this is the 'world largest bitcoin project'? You got lucky one time - very few are stupid enough to believe the domain name means anything. Look at circle.com - they just made a name. Then, built a great service. People go to them for the good press and services - not for the name. If you put good service behind any name, that name will finally be good. bitcoinwallet.com is the dumbest asset out there. why would a VC want to share your stupid domain squatting business which is little more than a rip-off from bad behavior (registering domain with the idea you can extort money from others later).

Lets say what if bitcoins price is being manipulated be some smart guys we don't know about. Lets keep a open mind,it would be possible would it not? Some kind of failsafe hidden code only a few VIPs have?Maybe not even a code per say, lets just say their is a hidden protocol to cause a rise in price and their is a protocol to do the opposite. What if ?
That makes zero sense. Price is controlled by buyers and sellers, not the protocol code. How the fuck are we going to get a conspiracy theory going here if you keep pointing to reality?

I doubt it is possible to effectively take a class action in California against a Swedish company unless the defendants has a legal presence in California or the US.
I would have thought KNC would only worry about actions brought under Swedish law.
This is completely absurd. Many thousands of European companies have been sued in the Federal Courts of California. Happens all the time. If you sell products to Americans, you 'avail yourself' of the laws and courts jurisdiction. US consumer laws protect US citizens. You can sell defective dangerous products to Americans and avoid consumer protection laws. Otherwise, dodgy companies would all just go set up operations is some shit bag country and sell dangerous products competing with companies who sell well designed product in conformance with the laws. Why oh why do people believe that Swedish companies are allowed to sell dangerous products to American citizens without having to answer to laws in the US. That is very funny.
