When I got home last night, my dad and I are eating some chicharon a.k.a. pork rinds while watching basketball on TV. Then suddenly my dad showed to me his iPad about Binance to check if its legit or not. I said that it’s legit once he installs the correct app and not the fake one.
Please tell him that he should always go to official websites to find download link. Don't search in stores that is risky with fake applications. I thought he just wanna install it and explore, but he seriously wants to buy some Bitcoin with his extra money that he didn’t need for now. He just wants to try buy and hold Bitcoin. He already knew that I am in this industry for a long while, but yeah it’s never too late for him to buy his first Bitcoin.
Your dad is one of few elderly can change themselves, learn new things and accept new things. Most of elderly hardly to accept new things that they are not familiar with. I have never convinced or forced him to buy BTC since I started my journey. He’s just being interested in all of a sudden that’s all. So I educated him about the basics, managing financial risks, fees, etc., letting him understand and acknowledge that there are no promises or astronomical guaranteed returns. I also sign him up on Binance using my referral link and assisted him in setting up 2FA, KYC, etc.
Please tell him how to backup his account, 2FA setup code and how to install 2FA in another device. Or you can simply guide him to re-adding that 2FA in a same device, by using backup of setup code. He wanted to buy using his credit card, but I rather have him buy through me instead to save fees since I can transfer USDT to his account immediately on Binance without fees and convert it into Bitcoin. So yeah now my dad has some Bitcoin in his Binance account.
I think it is risky for elderly but if you think it is fine, you can tell your dad about risk of storing coins at centralized exchanges and advantage of using non custodial wallets. |

That's what makes Margin or Derivatives risk bigger than spot trading. only in spot trading, of course, have to choose the right asset. if the wrong choice of assets, of course, the long term or short term will be useless.
Margin and derivatives trading are for risk takers. It has more risk than Spot trading. If a trader can not succeed in Spot trading, it is impossible to succeed in Margin and Derivatives tradings. people with simple market analysis skills, of course, prefer spot trading. this will make the trader less risky, not without risk. because all trades I think have their level of risk.
You are right that Spot trading is easier to handle and if you fail with your analysis or projection but you pick a good asset like Bitcoin, you can turn from trading to long term holding. It is still good enough. Back to topic title and discussion, personally it is incorrect to include Spot, Margin and Derivatives into Long term investment. These ones are trading, not investment. Investment means buying something, Bitcoin ie. and store it in your non custodial wallet a long time. |

Or maybe all your previous trades were successful precisely because you traded with small capital and, accordingly, were bolder when making a decision. Trading with small capital allows you to double and sometimes triple your deposit very quickly, which is almost impossible to do with a large capital.
A truly successful trader is the one who has positively net profit after a long time. It is not true to call any trader is a successful one or a pro if only look at one or a few trades. Because, very possibly if you join in a bull market, you will get profit (not all but mostly). However, if you are bad trader, you will lose in corrections within bull markets or in bear markets. |

Honestly, I believe Bitcoin is a great asset against inflation but it is only true in long term. If you can not hold your Bitcoin till next halvings, and have to sell it in any bear market, you will not have happy exits or happy endings.

Bear markets and bull should be equally important for trading.
Pro traders are disciplined in both markets and they can get profit from both market but they are very little on the market. In bull market, it is easily to get profit but the challenge is will you be able to save your profit when bear market comes. In bear market, most traders are in pain. Sometimes they get profit from bounces but if they are inexperienced and can not disciplined, they will get loss at the end. For long-term investment needs, of course I hope this bear market will continue to occur in the future. I want to buy bitcoin at a lower price than now, but that doesn't mean now isn't the right time to do it. Actually many people are willing to wait for a cheaper price, but it is not uncommon for us to miss the train because the price does not reach the expected lowest target.

PSG were just unlucky today. They could have really won the match thanks to their high effort in the second half. By the way Messi's goal was fascinating and it was a typical Messi goal actually. They had many matches like this in Champions League. They repeated it yesterday when the opponent is only Benfica. What will happen when they meet bigger clubs in Champions League, in quarter final or semi final. Napoli have shown they are ambitious this season, they brought the challenge to the top teams in the champions league. The game against Ajax was very interesting, Napoli showed great strength in dominating the game in both halves and scoring 6 goals from a come back which was amazing. Napoli's attack was terrific and kept Ajax defense on their feet all night. I see Napoli progressing pass the round of sixteen this season.
With club like Napoli that has limited player resource, if they can not decide what are their main objectives in a season and overuse their limited player resources for many leagues, they will lose all at the end. Players are human and they can not be overloaded, overplay in a long season and they won't be able to keep up their good performance in a long season. They can be injured and missing in many matches or they will be exhausted and have decreasing performance. Napoli must be careful on what they prioritize in this season, Serie A or Champions League. |

I don't know what price Bitcoin will make as its new all time high but it is not matter with me. I will take profit at price about two times from 2021 all time high. Then I will wait to buy back when a new bear market comes.
Even if price goes to higher than $120,000, I will not regret and will only wait for 70% to 80% correction from its 2024 or 2025 all time high to re-enter the market.

You can not take risk too much like with small capital. It means with big capital, you will more hardly to increase it.
