441  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some Trading Strategies You Could Be Ignoring on: October 01, 2023, 10:40:19 AM
If these are some strategies that you may be ignoring, what are the common or used strategies? Almost all of us may have heard or used Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA), Arbitrage Trading, and many lazy people hear Copy Trading or use it without knowing its name.
DCA if is not used correctly, will cause bigger loss for traders.

Arbitrage trading is risky because it depends on many factors and price difference, lag of trading signal, order fill up or not can cause a profit or loss for traders.

Copy trading is a worst one in my opinion because I agree with you too, it is for very lazy people who don't have their own thinking and totally rely on other people for their capital. They don't learn anything even they have many time in the market, profit or loss will be decided by author of those copy trading strategy.

Quote
In any case, the trading strategy above is the first step, and the more it increases, the more complex and profitable strategies you will use, but it is better to divide it into beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.
For all trading strategies, to be safe, protect initial capital and get profit, risk management must be well enough. Without good risk management, a trading strategy can be considered as very bad.
442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banking scams ...How are Bitcoin better? on: October 01, 2023, 09:52:25 AM
Yes, no matter what are implemented... scammers and thieves constantly evolve to adapt to the changes.. so it is the responsibility of the community to brainstorm new innovative ways to counter them, after that developers will take those ideas and they might implement that.

Just imagine if Bitcoin can come up with a good solution for many of these attacks and all the people that were victims of these attacks.. start migrating to Bitcoin or the Lightning Network for their payments.  Wink
No matter what technologies, security methods will be created, how better they are than what we have now, people will still be scammed.

Victims of scammers today can become victims in future if they don't change their practice. New technology and security method can not help those people because if they continue to be careless, they will continue to be victims.

Without Internet, there are scammers and victims but with Internet, then blockchain, then 2FA, there will still be victims of scammers.
443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Nested SegWit vs Native SegWit on: September 28, 2023, 11:34:30 AM
The four main types of bitcoin addresses are:

1- Legacy (P2PKH): addresses start with a 1
2- Nested SegWit (P2SH): addresses start with a 3
3- Native SegWit (bech32): addresses start with bc1
4- Taproot (P2TR)  addresses begin with bc1p
Native Segwit (Bech32) has its address type starts with bc1q.

Quote
4- Taproot is too complex for newbies.
If you only make an on-chain transaction, it is similar to other address types, no complex exists.

What advantages and disadvantages will I encounter if I use Nested SegWit?

What advantages and disadvantages will I encounter if I use Native SegWit?
If you are not dependent on exchanges for your Bitcoin addresses, you don't have to use Nested Segwit addresses. Some non custodial wallets like Electrum wallet stop default generation for Legacy or Nested Segwit address. Electrum wallet in latest versions by default setting, only generate Native Segwit addresses for users (Bech32, bc1q).

You can use Bitcoin Transaction Size Calculators to see differences of different address types, with same inputs and outputs for one transaction.

444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: UTXO Consolidation using Segwit and Taproot on: September 28, 2023, 11:29:11 AM
My question now is, when sending does the sender and the receiver have to use the same address in order to achieve the reduced transaction fee?
Consolidating your inputs first if you have many inputs in your wallets when mempools are clear and give your perfect fee rate like 1 satoshi/vbyte or 2 satoshi/vbyte for consolidation with cheap transaction fee.

Do it first as consolidation is your preparation for future on-chain transactions when mempools are no longer clear.

I have two topics about Bitcoin Taproot but I have to update those image links.

Usually you can not control what receivers do so don't mind about it too much.
445  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Apart from the bitcoin core, are there any other way to store bitcoin? on: September 28, 2023, 06:07:37 AM
please let me know if you know of any way to store my bitcoin without downloading the complete bitcoin core.
Downloading Bitcoin Core is not an issue with many people. The bigger problem is running a Bitcoin full node but you can run a Bitcoin prune node with Bitcoin Core.

If you want to have lighter experience, you can use SPV wallets like Electrum wallet.

Bitcoin Core or Electrum wallet, verify it.

446  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some information on Bitcoin on: September 27, 2023, 08:18:48 AM
Among the many countries that support Bitcoin are: the United States, Canada, Australia, and many European countries.Finland, Iceland, Spain, United Kingdom, Mexico, Germany, Japan, Denmark And some of the countries that don't support Bitcoin are: Bangladesh, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco. At the age of 2023, this number of people who have not yet supported Bitcoin has been given to Bitcoin.
I am not sure all your information is correct but it seems like so but those nations and their policies, regulations are different. Support levels as well as restrictions are different in different nations, not the same even you can categorize them in support or don't support Bitcoin.

Every country in the world should support Bitcoin because it is the best currency in the world.
I don't need governments to support Bitcoin to use it but it will be more comfortable if they support it. For your sake of benefit, from safety, security to anonymity, government support Bitcoin or don't support it, you must always use non custodial wallets and don't store your bitcoins in online accounts which are custodial and can be requested to seize by governments.

448  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does bitcoin price increase after halving? on: September 26, 2023, 10:59:07 AM
It is hard to guess the accurate prediction about btc price after halving but history says that after every btc halving btc price soars to its high. look at the above chart and which show clearly that halving have very good impact on btc price. looking at the current price which is more than down 1.5x from ATH the chances of increase in price is high, However, nothing can be said confirmed because many other factor has also effect on btc price
See comparison of current cycle, next halving and previous halvings and past cycles. An article about Bitcon 4-year cycle

In this current time and this cycle together with a coming halving, halving progress is nearly completed, with about 84% loading. Bitcoin price movement is very seasonality and this article about Seasonality with 4-year cycle and halving cycle can help to understand this characteristic of Bitcoin more.

We can not calculate next all time high of Bitcoin price but is it a matter if we buy it now about $26,000 and take profit when it reclaims its 2021 all time high ($69,000)? Even with that humble target price, we already have good profit and don't have to wonder what will be its next all time high.

449  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Auto running bitcoin core when turning on PC on: September 26, 2023, 10:48:27 AM
Be careful when attempt to help someone. Shut down PC before closing Bitcoin Core may lead to unwanted outcome. For example, the OS might forcefully kill Bitcoin Core process which lead to data corruption. When you close Bitcoin Core GUI, it shows message "Do not shut down the computer until this window closes".
Agree with you.

It takes only a few seconds to completely close a Bitcoin Core wallet so it is not painful experience.

Having problems when reopening a Bitcoin Core wallet after a sudden electricity, power supply loss, which you can not control, is acceptable. But if it is intentionally shut down, it is not smart action.

I read some users came to Bitcointalk and asked issues with their Bitcoin Core wallet. Some issues are because of abruptly shutdown the computer before a wallet compelely closes.

451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could the rise and popularity of cryptocurrencies be a vivid example? on: September 25, 2023, 03:23:39 PM
Many currencies lose value as a result of inflation.
Currencies lose value not only because of inflation but many other reasons like weak national economy, political and social collapse that make future of the nation is chaotic and very grayish. Inflation is not the only reason and by that you can see, a national government can not simply stop printing more money to increase value of their national fiat currency.

Quote
Many people believe that cryptocurrency can protect them from inflation.
If cryptocurrency you mean is altcoin, it's worse. Because minting new tokens into circulating and total supply is even more easily than printing more fiat currency.

Quote
Bitcoin puts a hard limit on the total number of coins that can ever be created. For example, as the growth of the money supply outpaces the growth of the bitcoin supply, the price of bitcoin will rise. Many other cryptocurrencies employ the same approach to limit supply and act as a protection against inflation. In terms of amount, the ASCII computer file specifies only 21 million bitcoins released. As a result of increased demand, the value will rise, possibly keeping up with the market and preventing inflation in the long run.
Bitcoin is different because it has only 21 million bitcoins in total supply but some altcoins have fixed total supply or even smaller than 21 millions but their values are less than Bitcoin or zero value.

Because inflation or deflation is only one of component to make value. Bitcoin is unique because of its decentralized network, strong network, no censorship on on chain transactions, strong developer community etc.

I have not read bitcoin white paper before because I do not need to read it after knowing what it is already. But are you sure the 21 million supply is not on the white paper?
Well, here is the PDF version of the bitcoin whitepaper hosted by Bitcoin.org, you can just scan through it and see if you find any where 21 million total supply of bitcoin is mentioned.

Though I read it myself and sure didn't understand most part of the document, but I also didn't see anywhere 21 million is mentioned as the total supply of bitcoin, except I missed it, which I stand to be corrected.
The total supply of Bitcoin is in its open source code.

How is the 21 Million Bitcoin Cap Defined and Enforced?.

The figure, 21 million, is the rounded figure for more easily remembered. The exact figure for Bitcoin total supply is 20999999.9769 satoshis. Need some tiny satoshis to make it exactly 21 million but it's not a big issue.
It is presented in Controlled supply (Bitcoin Wiki)

He also describes Bitcoin as a commodity multiple times in his communications -
Quote
“Bitcoin [is] more like a collectible or commodity.” - Satoshi
So far, in the USA., Bitcoin is a safest cryptocurrency in regulation and it is considered as a commodity, not as a security. It does not have big risk to be considered and regulated as security like Ethereum and shitcoins.

CFTC's break down on Bitcoin

It is allowed if you do faucet in Bitcoin BTC, but it is not allowed if you do faucet or airdrop in altcoins. Your faucet must have good security and detection against cheating.

Giveaway threads are not allowed
Quote
Most giveaway threads are no longer allowed in the Alternate cryptocurrencies sections. From now on, posting or replying to such threads could result in being banned. Existing threads will be locked.

Specifically, you are not allowed to give people any incentive to post insubstantial posts in your threads. You can't offer to pay people who post their addresses, usernames, etc. You can do giveaways off-site and link to the giveaway page in a thread, but you can't give people any bonus for replying to your thread.

Similar threads are already restricted to Games and Rounds in the non-altcoin sections, but the giveaway-related post volume is so high in the altcoin sections that I've decided to just ban them entirely here.

There's some changes going on at vbetFTN, in the management and top positions and my contact there can't guarantee that the campaign can continue in it's current form for a bit so we'll put this on hold for now and then I'll keep you updated on any and all progress. It's been an absolute pleasure to work with all of you during these 19 weeks and hopefully we can pick up where we've left off. For now you can remove your Signatures and Avatars.
Thank you Hhampuz and vbetFTN team for all. Hopefully the platform will grow up more with great success and the campaign will come back here.

Meanwhile, hope you all good health and hopefully I will have other chances to work with the manager Hhampuz again, as already did in many campaigns so far.

Best,

If posters can use voice recorder to convert their speaking to posts, spammers will make more shit posts. Their posts will be more broken in English because speaking, on top of it, will need less time for organizing your idea, words, grammar (no grammar checking with voice posting).

By writing, shit posters already make many posts that have many grammar errors and incoherent sentences. With speaking, it only become worse and I don't imagine I will spend my time to read those Voice-recording-converting posts.

Shit posters if using voice-recording-converting-posting applications, will not have time and be laborious to check their posts before pasting content here.
459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: September 21, 2023, 01:14:21 AM
Neymar has recovered from injury and he has given no signs that he is not fit. It's just that Neymar hasn't been able to make much of a contribution to Al Hilal and it could be that he needs time to adapt his game to his new team.
Neymar already recovered and he was able to play for his national team but Al Hilal must use him wisely in next one or two weeks. After having international duties, matches for Brazil, flying around the half of the globe, Neymar needs a few time for recovery. It's understandable if Al Hilal don't take risk by overusing Neymar after FIFA days as they actually need him for a long season, one or two matches with him can not make big difference but if they lose him in rest of the season, it's big problem.

Quote
However, in the SPL Al Hilal still has a better path than Al Nassr because Al Hilal so far have never tasted failure in the 6 matches they have played. I saw that some Al Hilal fans were quite disappointed with the results achieved by Al Hilal against Navbahor. Because the fans wanted to see Neymar's best action in that match but he failed to do so.
Players are not god and can not play well or make magic moments in all matches. They must give Neymar a little sympathy and give him more time. He will show them his beauty football which is good for entertaining time to enjoy and refresh their minds.
460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: September 21, 2023, 01:03:34 AM
In fact, Manchester United's performance in this match was quite good, but unfortunately they did not do anything in the first half to match the pressure exerted by Bayern Munich. Bayern Munich under the guidance of Tuchel of course they have a pretty strong mentality in the Champions League this season. I didn't see any strong enough changes made by Erik Ten Hag in this match because he was so afraid to give a new sensation if he did.
I don't consider it as a good performance from Manchester United. They lost the match at the end is important result and they even faced with a bigger loss if Bayern Munich make their shots better. The final result looks to tight between two clubs but in fact Manchester United found very too late goals which did not help them to make this defeat looks better. If you don't watch the match or the highlight, simply look at the final result, you will think they have a balanced match with Bayern Munich but in fact Bayern Munich dominated the match. In early of second half, Bayern Munich got some opportunities to destroy Manchester United with a tennis result but they wasted those chances.

Quote
Well, I was amazed by Harry Kane performance in this match because he faced the EPL team again in the Champions League, of course he has great instincts to beat the EPL team. Because he managed to contribute 1 goal and 1 assist in this match, but I saw him have several golden opportunities but his shot was still blocked by Onana.
Harry Kane played in Premier League many years and is a second best scorer in history of Premier League. He faced with Manchester United many times so he has enough experience with Manchester United and understand the opponent well. Beating Manchester United can help Bayern Munich to open a gate to get a first position in this group and can complete their tasks in this group a little bit sooner.
