221  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scammers are the smart ones, be careful. on: May 31, 2024, 05:03:01 AM
They are not stupid but wicked,  stupid are someone who lack intelligence or common sense while wicked use their wit to do evil things.
Stupid or wicked, it's only chosen word to say about scammers and I don't argue with you about words because it won't end with an agreement.

It could be an old trick, but a lot of users are still falling for it, and I so much believe there are Others in this forum who don’t even know about the trick.
You don't need to know everything in all areas, know everything about scam methods, to avoid scammers.

What you need, most important thing you need, to avoid scam, are very simple: carefulness and don't be greed. Scammers can use simple or complicated scam methods to find victims but they aim at careless and greed people. If you are not people like this, no scammer can touch you and your money.

I agree but it's funny how they always get people. That means the people are even more stupid? I see a lot of lame scams and I wonder how people fall for it. I just can't explain it.
Because human instinct is always there and the same, and new victims are who repeat same mistakes like past victims. They are either careless or greed or both.

If you call a scammer stupid then you have underestimated them because you would not be expecting much from someone who you have called stupid because of their actions, but some of this scammers these days are very intelligent that they can even still fool someone who knows about their existence. Better not to assume their stupidity and pay attention to details because some scams can be really sophisticated.
I don't underestimate scammers because they can code, can do things I can not do, but to say they are smart, I don't say it.

They can code, make website, smart contract, or hire some staffs to do this for them. They only need idea and pass it to staffs for coding later steps. We don't know what a founder of a scam project actually does. Maybe the founder only has idea, other things completed by his staffs or collaborators.
222  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scammers are the smart ones, be careful. on: May 30, 2024, 11:07:20 AM
I recently stumbled across a post on a telegram group where a user claiming to be having difficulty withdrawing his funds of $270 USDT from his wallet to Binance and seeking for other people’s help to withdraw the funds.
This scam type is very old one and you are new member in the forum, this market so welcome to your discovery on this scam type.

They used same scam type in the past, like I can not withdraw my bitcoin from an exchange because of many reasons, and I need your help to withdraw it. If you can hep me to withdraw it successfully, I will give you 50% or any good bonus.

Scammers are the smart ones?

No, they are not. They are pretty stupid.

On the other hand, scammers are often pretty stupid
223  Economy / Reputation / Re: Account that replying to this own alt account post should be ban on: May 30, 2024, 11:02:03 AM
Found this user replying to this own post with his alt. For what purpose? Cheating signature quota. It's obvious that this user struggling with his post count quota. And for the sake of it he will reply to his own post. Not just that cheating of forum translation, contest and giving merit to own his alt account
There is no rule to ban account because they are alts, quote each other.

If you think they are alts, cheat in a campaign, you can report it to the campaign manager and the manager will decide. You already opened an accusation thread in Reputation board, that's enough.

These accounts if they are alts, will not be banned because of what you reported. They will only be banned if you can find proof that they made ban evasion.

25. Ban evasion (using or creating accounts while one of your accounts is banned) is not allowed.[e]
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Check Ethereum gas, transaction fee with hours, days with MilkRoad website on: May 30, 2024, 08:57:20 AM
The table seems helpful to identify on which time and day the network has been less used. If you are saving for gas fee you must target those days that it is very low. Eth gas fee sometimes surge but in the table we can somehow assume which particular day to use it.
The table shows brightest days are Saturday and Sunday but honestly, I try to find what time zone is used for the table and I can not find it.

I am not sure what time zone is used here for their information presentation.

Their information on About this ETH gas data points to Gasnow.org which is non existing website.
Quote
About This ETH Gas Data

The charts above use the “standard” gas price given by gasnow.org. It is recommended that users who are going to transact on Ethereum check gas prices before doing so. The heatmap calculates an average of these standard prices for each 1-hour window using data from the previous two weeks.

There is only Gasnow.io that has no information about used time zone too.

That site has some more information than Milkroad.com and even has an extension I will not install it, only visit the website to get information I need.
225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can I check the balance of a bitcoin address as at last year? on: May 30, 2024, 05:58:08 AM
It's always better for privacy if you check your address balance, wallet balance with your own wallet. Better with VPN or Tor connection and your full node.

When you check your address with block explorers, you depend on their care on your data and privacy, so it's not recommended.

You can use bitinfocharts.com and their block explorer filter to check transaction history of an address with customized time.

The following link is a transaction history of a random address I take from a Bitcoin block explorer.
https://bitinfocharts.com/bitcoin/address/bc1q8yj0herd4r4yxszw3nkfvt53433thk0f5qst4g

If you don't want to see dust transactions, use nodusting at the end. The dust transaction here is defined as <$100 transaction and $100 is not a dust with many people.

226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Check Ethereum gas, transaction fee with hours, days with MilkRoad website on: May 30, 2024, 05:41:21 AM
The website is https://milkroad.com/ethereum/gas/

It has some helpful information like cost to make a transaction on Ethereum blockchain for different purposes like swap, borrowing, NFT sale, and bridging. Depends on smart contract, transaction fee will be different with same gas.

It has a very helpful table with day in a week, hours in a day, and you can see what days in a week, hours in a day, can possibly give you better gas (lower gas) to have cheaper transaction fee.

I only disagree with the website and owner, that it uses Estimated Ethereum Transaction Prices. Prices should be replaced with Fees because the official document from Ethereum project uses Gas and fees

227  Other / Meta / Re: How much do you know about Forgot Password? on: May 29, 2024, 05:32:41 AM
People usually set up their passwords very weak and easily remembered to themselves because they would like to use passwords with information relates to their birthday, family member's birthday (like of wife, husband, children), and they reuse it over many platforms.

Weak passwords can be brute forced easily. How easy to brute force a password will depend on computational power of hacker's device.

228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts about the person renting an apartment with Bitcoin in Argentina on: May 29, 2024, 03:27:53 AM
Did we need privacy before people accepted bitcoin in their store or any business center? NO. Because it is not necessary for the seller to use only Bitcoin as another means of payment for their store, as you can see, there is no need to say that what they are selling must be private before we send bitcoin as a fared currency, even though we know that bitcoin transactions require much privacy, but I don't think this will be an issue. The person who is selling should be the one who will protect the wallet he or she uses to receive the bitcoin.
When you spend your bitcoin in public trades, you know that there is no guarantee for your privacy from your trade partners that can be individual or a company, store, whatever.

Your privacy must be secured by yourself, on how you store your bitcoins, how you organize your bitcoin fund storage in inputs and outputs. Outputs include how you spend your bitcoin for an apartment renting payment.

The company, the store can give you promise about privacy but first, you can not trust anyone to secure your privacy. Even if they are sincere with their promise, their security, data base can be hacked and your information will be leaked.

Don't send round numbers
Don't send round amounts. Instead of sending 0.1 BTC, send 0.10125

Use Bitcoin Mixers
Mixers add an additional layer of privacy to a transaction to avoid exposing user identities.

Avoid reusing wallets
Don't send your Bitcoin change to the same address you use for sending bitcoins.

Avoid including many of your addresses in one transaction
Any time you can, try not to send BTC from your various Bitcoin addresses.

Avoid using "send everything" option
If you are withdrawing funds from an exchange, it is okay.
If you're moving funds to another wallet, do not transfer the whole amount to another address. It greatly compromises your privacy.

People can purchase or sell their real estates with bitcoin and renting is thing smaller than that.

230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hashrate increases. on: May 28, 2024, 02:25:20 AM
Keep in mind that it can be simply variance. There are times when we get like 10-20% more daily blocks than normal and then we will have -10-20% days and we will average out.
This Bitcoin Difficulty Estimator has some information that can support your statement. Difficulty of Bitcoin blockchain is recalculated after 2,016 blocks and in rough estimated time, it equals to 14 days.

Yeah the halving means that the block reward is halved but most of the miners these days are large commercial farms and not retail individuals mining in their basement. They knew about this halving a year back and adjusted and bought more efficient gear.
Halving does not relate to blockchain difficulty that can remain the same if there is no new demands from current miners to expand their mining farms or newbie miners who exposed to Bitcoin because of news on media about Bitcoin and its halving, then decided to join Bitcoin mining industry after the halving.

Difficulty increases when the network hashrate increases and it's more like one of consequences of Bitcoin network hashrate growth.
231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $1,200 stimulus check in 2020 = $12,392 in 2024 on: May 28, 2024, 02:02:17 AM
Darn! That's an interesting fact. Unfortunately, there's no statistics to show how many of the stimulus folks bought Bitcoin with their stimulus check. It would be an interesting fact to know and even more interesting fact would be how many of them are still holding?
It is more realistic to think that most of people received that stimulus check already spent it when a new bull run comes. They mostly are not seriously with it as a long term investment so they have no reason to hold it for a long time.

Thar FTX collapse would've shaken off plenty of plebs. My key takeaway from this thread is that Buying Bitcoin during the dips have proven to be a solid ROI opportunity. It would be interesting to see how much higher bitcoin can go as new bitconers buying at this prices hope to sell higher.
FTX fiasco is terrible and it makes capital of many people vanished within a week and severity of this fiasco can be bigger than Terra collapse because FTX is a big exchange with millions of users and it is related to many other companies too.

However I don't see connection between people who have stimulus check and FTX fiasco. The following website has more information about stimulus checks.
https://www.bitcoinstimulus.net/totalstimulus

To be honest, I don't know about the stimulus check story but years ago, there was massive airdrop with $100 in Bitcoin to MIT students. It was distributed in 2014 and most of students sold their bitcoins to enjoy.

Undergraduates at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology will be given $100 (£59) worth of bitcoins when they return to study this autumn, in an attempt to jumpstart a bitcoin ecosystem.

The project is being led by Jeremy Rubin, 19, an undergraduate in his second year at the university, and Daniel Elitzer, an MBA student at MIT's Sloan School of Management. Between them, the pair have raised more than $500,000, principally from Alexander Morcos, an MIT alum who works in high-frequency trading in New York.
232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $1,200 stimulus check in 2020 = $12,392 in 2024 on: May 27, 2024, 03:25:07 PM
And for most of the time from 2020 till now we've been in a bull run with very high prices, yet one still comes away with a profit when they DCA. If you DCA then and do so during a bear market when the price is low and dropping, the profit margin will be way higher than that.
With DCA, less stress for investment and with a long bear market like 2 bearish year and one warm up year before a bull run, investors have many months for DCA.

With DCA, with many months, they will not need to find bottoms but DCA can help them to average their entry price around bottom price and it will bring very good profit in a bull run.

With DCA during a long time like 3 years, total money spent for investment will be surprisingly bigger than imagination of investor. We don't realize how much money we spent for investment, with DCA regularly, after 3 or 4 years. If we check it after 4 years, it will shock us and with profit from DCA, like x2 or x3 from bottom price, portfolio value will be bigger a lot.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention by mentioning me. I rarely roam the gambling board, so cases like this [which should belong to scam accusations board] are easily missed. I really appreciate the helping hand to monitor cases for accusation on this board and bringing it to my awareness.
I knew you did it recent years and did great works so I am sure when you have time, you can look at the accusations.

I knew that accusations, if published in wrong boards, will easily not be noticed and already recommended OP to move this thread to Reputation board.

Your thread can help as a record for active accusations but without their brand representatives in the forum, it's hard to judge accusation is valid or invalid. Anyway, having a place, your thread, as a record or raw warning is not too bad.

It is impressive profit after 4 years but if you did not have $1,200 to buy bitcoin in 2020, you can do DCA.

With $33 for monthly DCA, last four years, you will spend $1,221 so far, and its value now would be $2,500. Profit is good enough with small $33 DCA every week. You need to be disciplined with DCA, stack bitcoin ups every week, and now your investment is good with 109.73% up.

It seems that the problem is indeed on the SMS provider in your country as I do not find any term that they block players from your country.
They should have an alternative way for this case, because it may happen for other countries too and if there is no alternative to solve this problem then coinpoker may lose some potential players from some countries with the same issue.
Using SMS for 2FA code receiving method is a risky choice because the SMS provider can have problems to deliver it to you and it can be seen by authorities too.

2FA should be on our devices only, and we don't have to rely on anyone, any provider to get the code for every time we need it. It is better for privacy too because authorities will not know what platforms you use and log in through SMS provider. There are other practical steps to secure privacy like using Tor but here we only discuss about bad choice with SMS for 2FA.

This method has another risk, [Beware] Sim Port Attacks.

If it is for security purpose, I think email + 2FA will be much better than SMS verification.
I recommend 2FA for both email account and platform account, avoid SMS.

Applications can be open source 2FA like Aegis.

Firstly of all let’s treat bitcoin as a currency first, as currency then it is fair to expose children to it because with this they will learn just another means of making payments not using fiat.
Bitcoin has many utilities and a mean of value exchange, or you can call as a currency, is one of its utility. It's can not be denied but the world is still far to a time when you can use bitcoin as mean of exchange for everything in your life. There are things you will have to purchase, pay with fiat currency in either cash or bank transfer. So there will be time you need to exchange your bitcoin to fiat currency and do those payments.

There’s still no solid connection for this speculation but it’s true that OP money has a high chance that already lost since these 2 casino in subject are completely unknown here.
No chance to contact staffs or owners of the platform through the forum because they don't have announcement threads or any promotion here.

OP can still move this accusation thread to Reputation board. It can help other members as a warning, but I don't say this accusation is valid.

I didn't do anything, I ain't smart enough for doing stuff like that.
But I sent blockchain a e-mail about it two days ago.

Did anyone here did anything to help me? Please say so if you did, I gladly tip you something, but don't try to lie to me please.  Grin
No one did anything to help your transaction to be confirmed 4 hours ago.

Why I say so?

Because I check the transaction and see that the fee paid for it is the same as your screenshot, so no bumping fee from Blockchain.com or you or tx accelerator.
Fee paid is 0.00003605 BTC  · 2.49 USD

Today is Saturday and mempools are usually have less waiting transactions in Saturday and Sunday. Recent days, mempools are better with cheaper fees and today gives you a good chance to get confirmation for that 5-month waiting transaction.

I will say you should bet on it. Dortmund has that capability; they can win the UCL. They can be as deadly attacking as Real Madrid are, and they can defend well.
Dortmund don't have same attacking power and quality like Real Madrid but they have enough attacking power to make troubles to any opponent, when either they proactively attack or counter attack.

The foundation for them is their solid defense and Dortmund don't need to start their final with hurry in attack, they can play defensively and wait for lack of patience from Real Madrid that can cause some carelessness in Real Madrid's midfield and defensive areas. Dortmund as said with their good attacking capacity can score goals from counter attacks.

Quote
If the performance of the players who play make the selection for that is 10/10, They can win Real Madrid just like the way Manchester United defeated Manchester City today because the performance of their players was far above average.
Their matches with PSG in semi finals give them confidence. The shock big win of Atalanta against Leverkusen in Europa League is another example and gives them more confidence. Just yesterday a shock win of Manchester United against Manchester City gives them more confidence.

Real Madrid are still stronger and have better chance to win the final but they must look at PSG, Leverkusen and Manchester City to be more careful in the final match.
