1221  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New BTC Noob! (Need Help With Rig) on: September 05, 2012, 05:33:55 AM
Alright, my friend got me into mining, but I need a rig that can mine and profit..

I sold my x79 rig, to make a good mining one.

So far, I plan to go with a cheap z68 board, and a Celeron G530 chip. Is that fine?

Also I wanna mine with a 7970, that's cool right?

What psu would be good? I got a 600w Corsair GS600, but think I need something atleast gold rated...

Might be time to sell by the time you get it running...  Bitcoin difficulty is very high and getting dramatically higher, soon.

Video card mining is going the way of the dodo

IF Butterfly Labs can deliver their ASIC in time, the difficulty will rise so quickly that it will bring your rewards to zero.

I really want to see him come and post, just here, with something like "keep going" and then disappear again.  That would be hilarious.
Lmao, just to mess with all our minds.

"we need to go deeper"

*poof* for another 2 years.

Very, very sad.  One of my favorite actors.

Left on a jet plane, will not be back again.

Maybe the little mouse he brought back to life will come bring him back to life.

The truth is it just takes time to have these kind of chips made, and then you still have to have the boards assembled. its a lengthy process. I am just happy we finally have a prototype that works that we can move forward with this is something that has been in the works for awhile.

I guess if you have a prototype working you wouldn't mind throwing a quick video up showing it running on a pool.

I will when BFL does the same.

Hi Tom,

To my knowledge, BFL has never stated that they have a working prototype. You just made a statement that you DO have a working prototype.

If you are going to make such statements, it should be a pretty simple task to make a video showing it working.

Thanks,
gigavps
Pics and video or it didn't happen.

or I have a 20 TH/s ASIC I made last night, cost is 5000 BTC.

I just went to that page and didn't get any warning.
1232  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: pirate payments list -- accounts paid: 22/459 on: September 01, 2012, 08:21:33 PM
This was an entertaining thread to read.

It's strange though, giving reps to someone on blind faith.  And the fact that grubles now gives him a +10 rating as well, three 10's in a row, did grubles get paid out?

Or are people giving perfect rep to him to try encourage pirate to pay them first?
1233  Other / Off-topic / Re: Let's talk about how hot Asian girls are. on: September 01, 2012, 04:12:22 AM
Great. I post a pic of my wife and Phin makes her look old and makes fun of her.
Thanks.

That made me spit ice tea on my monitor....
me too, coincidentally!
1234  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Love this site? Hate adverts? Read this on: September 01, 2012, 03:50:00 AM
The admins run the ads manually.  The auction, payments, ad submission, review, and integration are all done by a person.  There is no tecnical reason why the site can't have 80 slots instead of 8 but it would mean 8x the manual work and the revenue doesn't really warrant any automated system (at this point).
So they should have an Operation Fabulous ad banner instead!  Cheesy
1235  Other / Off-topic / Re: Nintendo Knitting Machine.. on: September 01, 2012, 03:41:23 AM
Sooo where can I get a Contra old school sweater?

+1  Grin

We need a knitting machine or a granny!

Might be illegal to reproduce, not sure, but maybe we get a bulk order of them made up in China, sell'm over here, profit.

I'd buy one! Cheesy

1 year from now, PPcoin might be worth that much.

The ads here are quite minimal compared to other sites..
1238  Other / Off-topic / Nintendo Knitting Machine.. on: August 31, 2012, 04:35:16 AM
The randomest Nintendo invention ever?  I figured I would post it here..  Apparently it has made news across the internet in the past day or two:

http://ca.ign.com/articles/2012/08/31/nintendo-almost-made-a-knitting-add-on-for-nes
http://www.shacknews.com/article/75542/nintendo-knitting-machine-prototyped-during-nes-era
http://kotaku.com/5939210/this-long+lost-nintendo-knitting-machine-would-have-let-you-make-sweaters-with-your-nes

Wouldn't it be cool if you could play Contra, and have an 8-bit sweater print out on the same device?

note: this contra sweater picture is pretty much proven to be a fake,
but now with an NES knitting machine it makes a great combo!
1239  Other / Meta / Re: Crime investigation on: August 30, 2012, 10:31:22 PM
it would be interesting if there's a bitcoin police service in bitcoin. lol

There is, its called "bitcoin police"

you guys need to lurk more...

Man, if the bitcoin police actually solved this case, brought pirate to justice, and returned all the coins.. they would be applauded as heros for aeons.
