1241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AMD's Lottocoin Mining Experiment - wtf?? (Leaked pics) on: January 08, 2014, 12:13:56 AM
I other news, 0.029 Lottocoin is worth 27$!

I am now a very rich man, or did they mean bitcoin?

The 0.029 is probably the BTC made from converting the LOT. 86 khash will make alot more LOT than that in two weeks. Wink

The pic is likely a fake. Just a cheap attempt to create hype for ponzi crap copy n paste coin.

Every coin on the market is a ponzy crap copy n paste coin, btw. 99.9% of them.
1242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin Payments Coin Vote on: January 08, 2014, 12:02:11 AM
maybe the new amd people vote too?  Grin

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=403992.0

That's funny..

Could mr. Prodigy let us know what the 'real' votes are? For every coin.
1243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lottocoin redesign - Up to 1BTC on offer or 2,000,000 LOT on: January 07, 2014, 11:52:03 PM
The logos in this thread despite been noble efforts, are just not good enough. If you need a 2nd opinion other than mine, then the devs should speak to a real design studio. This logo has got to be solid if you want the coin to be taken seriously. It seems that because there wasn't a lot of entries, that any logo would do. This is a coin forum, not a design forum. I would seriously reconsider keeping this logo design open for now. If you go with this design, its a mistake, it needs to be a lot simpler. The coin just doesn't look polished or professional and it will damage the coins value in the long run.

This is why real logos cost a great deal of money, its not just the creative thought behind them, its the long term value that logo brings to the brand. The recognisablity of the design to the public is crucial, people shouldn't have to look two or three times at it to work out the coin. Some brands don't even need a logo to be recognised, colours can offer brand association. Cadburys in the UK have moved before to protect that shade of purple they use, because the public associate the colour purple with the chocolate they produce, and copycats have used that colour for their own chocolate to capitalise on that association, and steal their customers.

Bitcoin has this, that orange will be recognised and associated with the coin with just a glance in the future, especially when the logo is sat amongst the other coin logos, say on an exchange. I'm not sure this tea colour logo has any appeal at all, is it supposed to be gold?. BitCoin nailed their branding and spent a lot of time working out the look and feel. Major companies invest heavily in design, marketing and advertising for a reason. I've noticed that most altcoins are seriously lacking here despite the potential value of these coins, it just doesnt make sense to me to scrimp in this area. Invest and you'll be rewarded in spades.

For the latest design, there are too many elements, too many colours and its confused. It's also not scalable because those small versions are too fussy. The main use for this coin seems to be aimed towards casinos and gambling sites, yet you are keen on 'Lotto Colors' and 'Lotto Balls' as the main design feature? Whats going to be the coins main use then, the lotto? The 8 ball, is in fact a 'Pool Ball'. I even posted a picture earlier but everyones just blindly scrolled past it. The association with the game of pool will add further confusion. Its not a lotto ball, or a lucky Chinese ball, its a pool ball. Google it > 8 BALL. Every result and picture is relating to the game of Pool, which has nothing to do with it.

The devs should be developing the coin and infrastructure, and outsourcing the design, branding and marketing to the professionals. If you think I'm a troll, you've got me all wrong, I'm just well invested in this coin and I'm concerned the right people aren't in place to move it forward. It needs more than a dev to launch a coin. This is potentially a multi million pound brand and needs the support of a few knowledgeable people in the right areas for it to succeed, just like any real business. I'm doing all that I can to promote it and have other plans to help this coin. I simply want it to be taken seriously as a currency and for me/you to make a load of money in the process. Isn't that the goal for everyone on here, especially the devs?

You're absolutely right. We need something scalable that can be put on a coin as well as 2d version. It's really hard. What studios are you talking about?

While I like gjeric's design, I don't think it's scalable.
1244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin Payments Coin Vote on: January 07, 2014, 10:48:05 PM
Once the vote is done we will see how many posts are in the giveaway thread and subtract 75% of that number from Lottocoin. We don't want to punish it too much since as far as we know the actual coin devs had nothing to do with this, and no doubt some of those people would still have voted for LOT. We can't make a blanket "no bribing" policy because people could abuse it to disqualify other coins that they don't like or are ahead of a coin they do like.

We weren't going to announce that until the vote is over, but based on feedback were are getting decided to announce it now.

Say 220 paid giveaways, you subtract 165? If so LOT are at 204 now.

EAC = 300
LOT = 200

LOT needs to catch up

I mean honestly, this was just a vote to see what coins people would like to see our current and future merchants accept. But it tends to always blow out of proportion... We cant stop any cheating, dishonest voting, paid voting, etc... but it speaks for itself. The vote will end Friday, but we will look over all the paid and non paid votes to factor in vs the real votes.

Cheesy

Do I need to send you more PMs? (Hope you get it)

Haha

damn ....

from mutlipool now : Jan 07 10:35 AM Earthcoin (EAC) - 3359 and Lottocoin (LOT) - 3360 are now available for mining.

prepare for a huge dumping ......

Where? What is 3359 and 3360? What is going on?
1247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin Payments Coin Vote on: January 07, 2014, 08:03:21 PM

look: everyone knows this has become a joke. EAC has already won the real vote. earthcoin devs even told people not to come here any more since we've a) already won (what I just said) and b) that this is all manipulated anyway

See my previous post. If you believe EAC has won, fine. But your beliefs don't necessarily match the OP's beliefs. If he cares about vote count, then EAC loses.

BTW the real vote is here. EAC is behind.

Who cares about the Earthcoin devs. They aren't related in any way to the OP.

If the OP desired to open a vote poll, then he knows how things could turn out. There could be manipulation, there would be promotion, etc. Wait... he did open a poll.
1248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin Payments Coin Vote on: January 07, 2014, 07:58:33 PM

first of all: people get more than 2000 as a reward to vote here

The amount isn't significant in any case. See how much LOT is worth on Cryptsy at this post time. Even someone with 10 EAC could stock on LOT.
I remember 30k giveaway of EAC. That's about 100x time as much in BTC value

Quote
then EAC has no official forum. the only forum EAC has is here. and no one pays people there, cause EAC is a serious coin.

1. EAC does have an official forum, but I was mistaken when I said there was giveaways on there..
2. There's no logic in that underlined statement... Serious competitors who promote their product are seen everywhere, even on a national scale.
As an example, political parties who give out free umbrellas to vote for them. Gives an extra reason to vote for them, which is the same case as LOT.
If EAC doesn't want to play along the rules, fine. But they shouldn't shift the blame on others when they lose. EAC has access to the same toolbox.

Quote
but it is amazing how you can "just assume" that every one is paying people... tells me a lot about your own moral compass

I assumed that if EAC guys were smart, they would have choose ways to promote their coin. Turns out it's not the case?
If you think bribing/giveaways/promotion is bad moral, then welcome to the crypto world, where no coin is backed by material value. Where there is profit there is deficit.

Quote

and lastly: LOT has had its credibility damaged beyond repair. worst of all, the LOT pushers do not even fathom the problem they are causing for their own product.
people who do not know the difference between buying a vote and advertising can neither be trusted nor taken seriously[/b]

You sure know how to destroy your enemy by using strong statements. Credibility damaged beyond repair. Fathom the problem.
I can't tell if you're serious or trying to provoke LOT users...

Let me tell you. Those guys didn't 'damage their credibility beyond repair'. They still have a credible team and great, ambitious plans just like EAC.
Basically what you're telling me is, a 1000 LOT (whatever the amount was, it's so insignificant) for a vote destroyed their credibility for their future and their product.

What problem are we trying to pinpoint? Promoters who care about their coin? Again, we all have the same toolbox. A very small extra such as 1000 LOT shouldn't deceive someone into voting. It's like an umbrella for a political party.

I'm not a LOT fanboy, but you're just bashing the coin and ranting.
If you see my previous comments on this thread, then you'll see I recommend EAC to start giveaways. Your beliefs don't necessarily match the OP's. If the OP cares about the vote count, then EAC is going to lose.

4 days to catch up, EAC can do it, and again I didn't see the OP arguing against bribing (1000 LOT is a joke, seriously).
1249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin Payments Coin Vote on: January 07, 2014, 07:07:15 PM
Paying someone for votes is still paying someone for votes.

And that's why I'm still for restarting the vote or making a new one Wink

I understand your frustration, but I don't think the OP said anything about paying for votes. (did he argue against it? I didn't read the thread)
If anything, I would immediately start an EAC giveaway for those votes and give yourself a chance to catch up with LOT.

EAC is behind LOT, and if the OP decides that LOT wins based on vote count, then you won't have anything to argue about. They had the most votes, right?

Still 4 days left for this vote thing, plenty of time

1250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin Payments Coin Vote on: January 07, 2014, 06:52:15 PM
Everyone is ranting about LOT. What is funny is that there are 360+ votes, and no more than ~220 votes that have been 'paid'. There are still 140 legit votes. I bet EAC does the same on their forums (not on BCT, of course).

As I said, I believe people are smart. I believe they are entitled to their opinions. If they want to vote for LOT, then let them do it. Giveaway or not, they have the final words. 2000 LOT wasn't a big reward, and a lot of people voted because they really wanted LOT to win, but also posted their address in the giveaway section. 2000 LOT isn't enough to deceive someone into voting.
1251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lottocoin redesign - Up to 1BTC on offer or 2,000,000 LOT on: January 07, 2014, 06:44:13 PM
DANGER

The design for the 'smaller' logo HAS to be much simpler.

Take out all fussy elements like the rays and colours and piles of coins... OR if you want to keep rays in taper them so the white is thinner at edge and wider where it hits the O...
this will give the LOT a glow.

I can do these things for you for a bitcoin standing on my head...and you can move forward but time is running out...

As pointed out previously this must shout LOT when next to the bit coin B...
Keep going UNTIL you have something stronger than bitcoin B for the smaller logo.

The 3D coin is now way too fussy and too many detailed elements fighting... great for wow factor and placing on google images but no good for a long lasting world class logo... there are a couple of guys on this thread giving invaluable branding advice but please please devs let the pros guide the decision as just having 'WOW' factor is NOT good enough and will be a big FAIL.

Look how the old logo is now being used on a Google app... this was exactly why I advised early on that you should get a PRO to do this BEFORE it even hit criptsy... every one seemed to be screwing and ridiculing me about offering 3 Bitcoin to get you this done but the loss in real terms from pissing about and waiting has been 1000s of bitcoins in crucial lost time and market place 'perception' at a point when the coin needed to be seen as credible and worth investing in... its fine having 'love and respect from your community' and people being defensive when outsiders try and help but the outside world is a harsh place and a basic understanding of some well known corporate ID do's and donts would have avoided this current situation of not having a logo.

Every idiot out there thinks this is easy... it IS for the PROS who understand the basic rules AND applies them... but I have not seen any of the designs applying the simple rules critical for developing a world class final logo.

This will damage the brand in the end user space like ebay and anywhere the logo appears for the coin to be sold, traded or used and the brand will be perceived (as I try hard to alert you all too BEFORE it hit Criptsy) as nothing more than a amateur ALT represented by awful clip art.

RAMP this up guys... time loss added to a cheap brand logo that is now being widely used across the media is seriously damaging the rep of this coin!

3 BTC? No one can offer 3 BTC here. But if you want to do the logo then go ahead. You'll get 1 BTC from this thread and 500k from me, alright? If you think you could do better.. It's quite difficult to find a good logo 50x50 that is still readable and recognizable as LOT
1252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lottocoin redesign - Up to 1BTC on offer or 2,000,000 LOT on: January 07, 2014, 09:43:23 AM
All looking good.. What now? Do we need to make 'accepted here' logos? I think we're done here!
1253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lottocoin redesign - Up to 1BTC on offer or 2,000,000 LOT on: January 07, 2014, 08:39:06 AM
Done

1254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lottocoin redesign - Up to 1BTC on offer or 2,000,000 LOT on: January 07, 2014, 08:28:36 AM
Yeah looks a bit distorted, I just made a quick screenshot in Illustrator. Final image will be fine.

Thank you!

Do you think a 2d version with colors would look good? (Rainbow colors, like in 3d)

1257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lottocoin redesign - Up to 1BTC on offer or 2,000,000 LOT on: January 07, 2014, 07:31:47 AM
Adding one color and flat version.

That's genius. Pure genius. The 2d version is perfect!

The 3d version looks a bit weird in this one? It looked fine two posts ago.

BTW I just sent you a little donation, I'm not rich but I think it will motivate you Smiley

Looks like someone from AMD is mining this

Hahahaha how did you find this?

0.794 LOT = $700

Let's do it
1259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lottocoin redesign - Up to 1BTC on offer or 2,000,000 LOT on: January 07, 2014, 07:01:50 AM
Thanks Smiley

First stage was to do a flat design of it. I will show it soon.

Great! Can't wait to see it. Do you want a donation Smiley Hope you get paid well
1260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lottocoin redesign - Up to 1BTC on offer or 2,000,000 LOT on: January 07, 2014, 06:58:42 AM
This is how I imagined to add a lotto ball without complicating Smiley

F*****g smart! You're the man!

I think we still need a flat 2d version (cartoonish). Any ideas?

The other guy is right on that one, if we need a 50x50 version then the text becomes unreadable..
