BTC sent! It's a bit curious how you registered for this bitcointalk account only moments before posting, but I'll let it slide.  Welcome to bitcointrading!

Thanks!

The quicklinks banner looks good, a little cramped but I guess there isn't much room to play around with up there.

Yeah it's a bit cramped but I wanted it to take as little space as possible while still being readable.  I will probably make it have onhover and onclick so it has purdy shiney-ness when you mouse over it but I wanted it functional at first.   Smiley

I would like that page.

Why don't they accept bitcoin donations?
1245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is quantum computing a issue for bitcoin? on: August 30, 2012, 07:20:43 PM
IMHO quantum computing is less of an issue to bitcoin than time travel.

Amir is too busy doing youtube interviews to be bothered with doing the right thing for all the Bitcoinica customers.

Patrick is too busy threatening me over the lawsuit to be bothered to do the right thing and actually avoid the lawsuit in the process.

[18:31:12] <phantomcircuit> ......, suggest to him strongly to drop the suit
[18:31:23] <phantomcircuit> he's going to regret it more than anything he's ever done in his entire life
[18:32:11] <phantomcircuit> that's a promise

Never a dull moment.
1247  Other / Off-topic / Re: What if Pirate got to keep the 500k BTC? on: August 30, 2012, 04:29:05 PM
So what if we just let him do it??!!!
Such a statement, "c'mon guys, whaddya say?  should we let him steal the millions?"

But on the other hand, I agree it is humorous that the person with the most coins in the world stole them all like a true pirate.

The community learned another valuable lesson..  Goxxed... Mybitcoin... Bitcoinica... and now pirate.  I hope everyone has learned once again that you shouldn't trust strangers with your money!  Bitcoins stay in your wallet!

I am reminded of the pizza thread, how everyone's like "that pizza is now worth $300,000!!!" and now it's like "pirate stole over 10 pizzas from the community!!".  10 years from now, this could be a billion-dollar bitcoin heist.

I'd act fast if you guys want the monies back.
1248  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT version 0.5 - Easy USB based mining Linux with farm wide management tools on: August 30, 2012, 04:11:52 PM
You should put both cgminer and bfgminer in there so bfgminer is only used in cases where fpga mining is needed, i'd rather not use bfgminer if I had the choice for the simple fact that the person who created it is a total ass and is trying to add 1 part to someone else's car and call it his own.

Perspective -- this is an image from Las's server. I assume it was his balance ~June 2010 by the modified date.

... So don't make fun of him too much -- it's quite possible he's a very, very wealthy fellow right now. Wink

Wow 34k bitcoins. I do salute the fellow.

Is it worth anything to anybody to learn who laszlo is? To be clear, I have no direct, nor indirect, proof that he's the Pirate, but he's still active on this forum, albeit under a different name(s).

Hint (directed toward laszlo): AYBABTU

~Bruno~

Ah man you shouldn't even use the P- word in such a sacred thread..
1250  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Its Official Pirate Has Defaulted!! on: August 29, 2012, 02:48:37 AM
Yes.

We'll see if he pays though.
What if he meant that you would be paid in magazine subscriptions?
1251  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Its Official Pirate Has Defaulted!! on: August 29, 2012, 02:40:09 AM
so, that means he's stealing all the money?

To me it reads, "If you want the money sue me bitches!"

I might be wrong.

So.. does Matthew lose the bet?

edit: should have read the thread a bit more carefully, since 100% of the posts are talking about the bet.

meow!  That's $100,000+ out the window!
1252  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Its Official Pirate Has Defaulted!! on: August 29, 2012, 02:37:05 AM
so, that means he's stealing all the money?
1253  Other / Off-topic / Re: Answer the question above with a question. on: August 29, 2012, 02:30:26 AM
Isn't that obvious?

(Jeopardy Rules) Is Trendon Shavers the biggest scammer in Bitcoin History ?
Is that his real name?
1254  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS]Cheap Windows 7&8 and MS Office key on: August 28, 2012, 04:42:34 AM
so 3.5 BTC for Windows 8 is pretty much more expensive than the retail upgrade will be when it's released..

1256  Economy / Lending / Re: BitcoinMax Account For Sale (1915 BTC) @ 60% on: August 28, 2012, 03:48:55 AM
so people are throwing $10,000 away, selling these at a loss because they will probably never see the money from pirate again?
1257  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Post your goods on BitcoinTrading.com and get a free 0.1337 BTC! <-- promo! on: August 28, 2012, 01:30:24 AM

1258  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT version 0.5 - Easy USB based mining Linux with farm wide management tools on: August 28, 2012, 01:20:58 AM
Is it possible to update cgminer to the latest version on BAMT? Im a total linux noob as well as new to bitcoins. So far I have used the guiminer in windows and then switched to BAMT where I use the gui to set everything up. My command line experience is minimal, however Im eager to learn.

I want to use cgminer 1. just to try a different miner 2. to experiment/learn 3. to use the autofan feature to automatically adjust the fan speeds up and down as needed.

I have no idea how to even setup/use the cgminer thats included with BAMT so maybe thats a first step? But I figured the latest version might be more stable/faster/more features?

Where do I start?

you may wish to hold off, some changes in the upcoming version will make things easier.

as for using the latest version, I don't know if it's a good idea.  We use the version we use because there were stability issues with newer versions.  I have heard that version 2.5.0 is good, but not sure on versions after that.  Also don't know if there are any performance improvements or what features might be present in versions newer than the one we use.  Someone else might be able to comment on that.

in any case, get the included version working before working with something else, since you are at least working with a well tested and known stable version then.

sweet, new version coming, yay!

What math background is needed for the course?

The course is mostly self contained, however some knowledge of discrete probability will be helpful. The wikibooks article on discrete probability should give sufficient background.

That's a relief. However, as far as I know, to really understand cryptography, you have to know some crazy high level math.

Crazy high on math?

Count me out!

Weird.  If you go through whois.net, it says the domain is available.  Through another service, I found this:
