1241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Friendly Match is Hard to Predict on: June 17, 2023, 09:25:19 AM
I never bet on these friendly matches, because I feel it is just a waste of good money. There is nothing to play for... and just a fitness event for show. These teams will also not use their best players and simply use these matches to test different combinations of new players and also to test new strategies.

There is also nothing to play for, so they are not playing to the best of their abilities... because they do not want to risk getting injured and not being able to play when it actually counts.  Roll Eyes

Do not worry too much about all the fuzz that are being caused with the actions of the US Politicians. The noise that are being generated are only done for political points in the upcoming elections.  Roll Eyes

Why do you always see bold announcements and huge political decisions being made, close to elections? It is all for show.... and to get more money for their election campaigns and also to get more support from voters.  Roll Eyes

1244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Without money, the knowledge is a waste on: June 17, 2023, 08:56:44 AM
I disagree with you...

There are 1000s of people who participated in signature campaigns on this forum, who used their acquired knowledge to post constructive content and they got paid for it. If they were clever.... they would have used that to buy more Crypto currencies. (Which they could trade and make even more bitcoins... or simply hoard it to wait for a spike in the price)

There are people out there that are using their knowledge to host Bitcoin meetups, where people actually hire them to talk at these meetups. So knowledge generate income and that income can be used to buy bitcoins or any other Alt coins.  Wink
1245  Economy / Economics / Re: Could there be a new financial system not dependent on USD? on: June 16, 2023, 08:06:10 AM
Well, the US are doing all they can to tarnish the reputation of the South African government... even fabricating stories that a Russian ship is being used to ship weapons and ammunition to Russia from South Africa. (without any proof)  Roll Eyes

We saw the same thing when the European nations wanted to join together to create the Euro. Everyone was fighting over that and people were skeptical from the start... now the Euro is one of the strongest currencies.

The difference is... the Euro was created by first world countries and it was done by people from the "West"..... now people from third world countries wants their own reserve currency...and suddenly people from the West is criticizing it from all side.  Roll Eyes
1246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Improve Your Sports Betting Skills and Win More Bets? on: June 16, 2023, 07:52:25 AM
You have some very valid advice there....

I was constantly losing most of my bets, by simply looking at the odds that are provided and randomly choosing a Sport to bet on. I then started to compare the odds between different sites that offer the same bets and I noticed a big difference.

I also started to concentrate on the Sports that I am familiar with and I did more research before the match are played. (Also looking at Sport predictions from other players)

This has improved my win/loss ratio significantly ... so it is now more fun to gamble on Sport betting.  Cool Cool Cool
1247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ambivalent attitude to gambling on: June 16, 2023, 07:43:38 AM
In my country, Lotteries are used as a Milk cow for the government.... because they milk the operator of the Lottery for bribes (to get the license) and also to force them to sponsor community projects. They also get a huge tax boost from the operator and also the people winning these draws.

I think gambling is accepted, because the governments of this world gets something from it..so as long as bribes are paid and tax are collected.. gambling will be approved. (This is why some countries do not allow foreign operators)  Tongue Roll Eyes
1248  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2023-06-14] Bitcoin’s Future Amid SEC Scrutiny and Federal Reserve Rate Hike on: June 16, 2023, 07:31:39 AM
What do you mean by price difference? Like the price dropping below what it is right now?
It's a truth that the SEC issue is among what's dragging down the price of Bitcoin, but let us not also forget that there are other things that could have possibly dragged down the price of Bitcoin and kept it struggling, such as FXT and the Luna incident, which also kept the market down for a while, so this is not much different and we are actually going to pass this stage. Halving is fast approaching, and a bull run is certain; the market will drastically correct itself in due time.

You should not over-hype the Halving event, because it has a minimal impact on the Bitcoin price. There are currently too many things that are pushing the price down, so it's not going to "recover" to $30k+ due to the Halving.  Roll Eyes

The whole Crypto scene are used as a "Political Ball" by the US election.... because politicians know if they say the right things, then some more votes will come their way.  Roll Eyes
1249  Economy / Speculation / Re: This year is dumping ground for bitcoin on: June 16, 2023, 07:23:08 AM
You definitely have to do some more research, before you post something this random.  Grin  The SEC in the USA are going after the biggest Crypto Exchange on this planet.... so it is all over the news.

There are also a lot of political talk about the tightening of regulations towards Bitcoin and Crypto currencies, so that scares potential investors in this technology. We saw what New York did, back in the day with the introduction of the "BitLicense" ...and people think the same thing might happen with the USA.  Angry Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
1250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stop gambling (sports betting, casino e.t.c)? on: June 15, 2023, 06:30:17 AM
I really have loads of sympathy for people who wants to stop gambling, because people are bombarded with online gambling related advertisements on all platforms. I counted the gambling advertisements on television the other day... and I nearly fell off my chair, when I saw how much advertisements are shown in 1 hour.  Roll Eyes

Then people go online and they get bombarded with gambling advertisements on their phone / laptop / iPad etc... etc.. it is just crazy how much money are paid to advertise gambling content.  Roll Eyes
1251  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: June 15, 2023, 05:46:18 AM
The thing is... we can complain all we want here, but nobody from Stake.com are responding to any of the posts that are made here, other than a few posts that are marketing some kind of promotion.  Roll Eyes

The other thing is.... Stake bonuses are way higher than most online casinos, so you do not have a lot of other options to pick from, if you decide to play somewhere else.

Let's hope this is only a "bug" in the system and that it will be fixed, like they said with the "bug" in the last Weekly.  Wink
1252  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2023-06-10] Forbes: ‘Bloodbath’—Sudden $1 Trillion Crypto Crash Sparks Fresh... on: June 15, 2023, 05:30:35 AM
Humm... It's a bit of an exaggeration... for now, but if the witch-hunt continues in the US, it could become one with a domino effect. Because let's face it, it's not going to end quickly.
In a few weeks or months could be quite appropriate to use "bloodbath".

It's important to remember that, even if this happens, the market will regain its losses later (probably months later).
(I'm at least talking about Bitcoin, I'm not interested in altcoins.)

What's interesting is to see
- half of the bitcoins stocked by americans centralized exchanges have been transfered out
source Bitcoin reserve in American exchanges is decreasing

- Decentralized exchanges are seeing a nice jump from this exodus.
source DEX volume in Uniswap, PancakeSwap, dYdX jumps after the SEC lawsuit

I can't believe people realize now why they shall use a DEX and not a CEX, but hey let's hope...

#CZBinanceInJail  Grin

I think they use a CEX because it is regulated and perceived to be a safer option to "store" their tokens. We have to remember that most people that are invested in Crypto are here for the speculation and profits and they want that to happen in a secure manner. (Most of them still believe in centralized entities like Banks and the Stock Exchange)

We face some very big obstacles, with the SEC attacking one of the largest exchanges, but we have faced many of these challenges before and we will simply ride it out again.  Tongue
1253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A portion of my clothing store's weekly profit is invested in Bitcoin on: June 15, 2023, 05:21:36 AM
The words "profit share" in your post is worrying me for some reason. This is a word that is used in Bitcoin Ponzi schemes. I hope you bought bitcoins at a regulated exchange and that you own the Private keys to those coins. (obviously after you have withdrawn the bitcoins to cold storage)  Huh

There are no "profit share" when you own bitcoins, you either buy it at a low price and then sell it at a profit. You do not get monthly dividends or profits, so make sure you are "invested" in the correct technology.
1254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Difference between Lighting Network and Bitcoin on: June 14, 2023, 06:07:25 AM
I think the best way to describe it, is to say that Bitcoin is layer 1 and the Lightning Network (LN) is a layer 2 solution that are built on top of it.

There were some times when the Blockchain were very congested and transaction confirmation were very slow and expensive, so developers created a layer 2 solution that handles that. You now have a off-chain layer 2 solution that are better suited to a use case where you can use Bitcoin as a currency, with faster and cheaper micro transactions.  Wink

This is over simplified to get you to understand the reason for the creation of the Lightning Network.  Wink Cheesy
1255  Economy / Economics / Re: Rent or buy real estate - let's have a debate on: June 14, 2023, 05:54:25 AM
OP, this has been a very good topic for years now.

I think people should have a two pronged approach to this, namely to "own" a property first and not to enrich other people ...while they can enrich themselves. A property are seen as an asset..... and a rented property as a debt, so I think it will  be better to work towards a future, where you repay your bond and you create an asset.  Wink

I started with a small flat and I worked my way through some high interest rates to own my first property. I then sold that property and I bought something bigger..... I would have never been able to buy the property I own now, if it was not for that first property.

Once you acquired your first property, you can work on getting a second investment property to boost your portfolio.... then your property starts working for you. A person renting a property...does not have the bargaining power to get a loan for a second property, if they do not have assets to back up that loan application.  Wink
1256  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: would you play more on casino when your country plans to ban BTC? on: June 14, 2023, 05:45:27 AM
Just know one thing, if your government targeted Crypto exchanges... then it is not going to stop there. They are going to go after all other Crypto activities, once they finished with Crypto exchanges.

I will rather focus on trying to secure the tokens I own now, before they ban everything else ....and find ways to protect it. Get it into cold storage, so that you can sell it online....when the price is at a all-time-high.  Wink

-snip-
Another scenario.

This could be the date people who are registered are also effected by the data leaked. I mean the data are being leaked are, data of new user meanwhile the old user not getting effected to the leaked.

Potential, stake have a different storage data of their customer that's why some of people who are even "Platinum III/IV" not getting effected at all.

This is not the first time that this happened and some people did lose some money in the previous attempt.  Roll Eyes  Looking at the chat conversations, it seems as though it is a mix of users and not just higher ranked players that are targeted.

It might not even be a new data breach, but simply a second phishing attack with the old data that were lost before. There are not a lot of people who would have changed their email address after the first phishing attack, so they can use the previous data over and over again.  Roll Eyes (They just wait for the dust to settle and they try it again)  Angry
1258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Bitcoin Be Badly Hurt if Binance Goes Down? on: June 14, 2023, 05:25:09 AM
They say, you do not get to the top, without stepping on other people... and CZ stepped on a few. We know that he just recently threw another exchange under the proverbial Bus, when he promised to bail them out..and then did a rug pull on them, by not granting them the loan in the dying hours of the deal. (Robbing them from the opportunity to get other investors and killing one more of his competitors)

So, let's step away from the idea that CZ are some kind of Bitcoin Jesus..... because he is not... and only another profit hunter, like the rest of them.  Roll Eyes

1259  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Seeking for CMO's for AI assisted Crypto platform on: June 13, 2023, 06:11:17 AM
You are taking on a giant task to change people's perception on AI assisted Crypto trading platforms and tools. There are so many scams doing the rounds with supposed AI algorithms being used to trade successfully, with many people who have burnt their fingers and telling everyone about their bad experience.

A friend of mine are part of a large forex trading community and they are actively warning people against these scams. You will have to get solid proof that the AI that you are using are legit and that it will work for other people.

Good luck with you project..... but it's a hot potato scene for me.... and I think you have a huge task in front of you.  Roll Eyes
1260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Easy or hard to quit? on: June 13, 2023, 06:00:02 AM
Gambling is a science that are developed to pull you back, when you win large amounts of money. Let's quickly look at what happens when you win large amounts of money and how it affects your brain. The moment when you hit the large Jackpot or the large Sport bet, your brain release the "feel good" chemical called, Dopamine.

Dopamine influences your mood and feelings of reward and motivation, so people constantly want that reward. Gambling give you "small" wins over a long period... and it makes you addicted to that chemical and when you win big, it floods your brain with large amounts of Dopamine. (Once you get a taste for that mad rush of Dopamine, you will come back time and time again.... searching for a repeat of that experience and that sensation)  Roll Eyes
