1241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 07, 2023, 07:32:12 AM
The problematic season is continuing for Lakers.

They have such an inconsistent form really. Sometimes they start a winning streak which stops sharply all of a sudden. It is a three-game winning streak for now and we will see how long this will go on. It feels like they will finish the regular season on the brink of the playoff area. But I don't know if they would stay inside of it or outside. Because this performance isn't credible enough to be sure of something about their future. Lebron must still be quite frustrated at his team now. Because he is still playing really competitively.
I think that's already a given fact this season, we are just waiting if they are going to make a move and trade some of their players, but so far they seems to satisfied as how they are doing, although for the fans, it's another worst season for them and the only bright light is Lebron breaking the record of another Laker great, Kareem Abdul Jabbar.

I do agree, they are borderline team and maybe they could be out of the playoffs again with this kind of lineup.

Or if they make it, probably gets eliminated by the top team in the West, like the Nuggets and Memphis team in the first round.

Somehow, we as basketball fans would like to see again Lebron James playing in the post season, but we cannot just get ahead because their current roster will not probably get the chance to play at the playoffs considering how inconsistent they are, and players aren't that willing to step-up if there's a situation that needed them to be at the best version of themselves. So far, they are making an improvement, but I still doubt it.

They needed to make a move in this upcoming trade because if they won't then it's best to assume that they won't going to reach far enough, if they will get lucky, they will just probably get eliminated in the 1st round or worse in the play-in tournament.
1242  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: January 07, 2023, 07:12:10 AM

And each one says things to himself in his own way:

Hector Garcia says he’ll beat Tank Davis by being “smarter fighter”

That has not to be told, it's already given, I mean you need to be smart in order to win the fight. This isn't his first fight, I'm pretty sure he is using his intelligence everytime he stepped up in the ring. The question here, what if Tank Davis is still smarter than him, then how can he beat Davis?
Well, once smarter, always the winner of course.  But let’s wait and see if who will be the king in the ring once again and remain undefeated up to last and final round. I am still rooting for Davis despite of the issues he has been into, I think his performance will always be outstanding with regards to Hector’s performance in the ring.

I think the issues of Tank is not going to affect him in this fight as it has been settled already and it's too late to affect hi as the fight is going to happen as plan this Saturday night.

I'm not really sure what Hector Garcia means by being the smarter fighter, Davis has a good boxing IQ, and I think his opponents are underestimating this as they believed that he is only known to have punching power. But to be able to knockout an opponent, you need to think of strategy, like feints and movement and proper placing of the feet to be able to see how they will react. And I think Davis has this in his arsenal and that's why he was able to set up his knockout punch perfectly. And so if there is someone who is smarter here, it will be Tank Davis for me.

Surely Gervonta Davis wanted to be underestimated by his opponents because he's viewing that as an advantage because his opponents are likely complacent enough saying that they will beat Tank easily because they are smarter, taller, or stronger. But as of now, none of them has proven that they're much more capable and stronger than Davis. Hector might end up like Rolly Romero, thinking that he was way smarter than Davis but the outcome was definitely different from what he expected.
1243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 06, 2023, 05:54:55 PM
I like your guys’ pick of the Memphis Grizzlies, but am a little curious why the odds aren’t longer. I may have to look at the injury report. I also like the Denver Nuggets over the Clippers, which I think will have a better payoff. Hopefully with Paul George out (I think) they’ll have limited minutes for Kawhi and Wall to give the Nuggets an easy ride to the win.

Every team that won in NBA today did so with quite some ease, I didn't expect Denver Nuggets to blow the Clippers out that early into the game, while Kawhi Leonard and Paul George both in the starting lineup but the Denver still were able to restrict the Clippers to 32 points in the first, while putting up 66 points themselves, the major damage was done from behind the arc where Denver Nuggets were very effective in that half, so the game was pretty much a done deal from the first half, Kawhi and PG didn't even need to play in the second half.

That happened due to a lack of defense, I thought that the Clippers will play better and they could upset the home team because Leonard will be available. It's just unfortunate we are not seeing a very entertaining game.

The Clippers are awful, they only shoot 14% from beyond the arc compared to the 39% of the Nuggets.

I thought this team will not give up, but maybe they already believe that they cannot come back anymore that's why they didn't try in the 2nd half.

They don't even got to own even just a single quarter, the Nuggets were pretty clever these days while the Clippers is not that consistent anymore to win some back to back games. PG and Leonard can handle one game at a time, and not a successive games where they will dominate.

As said, the duo already gave up in the 2nd quarter which gave the Nuggets a good time to advance and let Jokic rest because they have another big game again later against the Cavaliers. I'm going to catch this game live, not yet sure who to lean on this time.

As of now, here's mine:

Chicago Bulls ML vs Philadelphia 76ers
Brooklyn Nets -4 vs New Orleans Pelicans
1244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar world cup Final Predictions on: January 06, 2023, 04:24:26 PM
After 36 years, Argentina ended their title drought under Messi. Along with this, Argentine star has taken himself to a unique height by winning this World Cup. Star player who have won the World Cup, Champions League and Ballon d'Or are called the 'Triple Crown' club. Messi became a member of that traditional club by winning the World Cup in Qatar. There was one blemish in Messi's career, and that was the World Cup. Argentina beat France on a tiebreaker in a thrilling final in Qatar to lift the title for the third time. The Qatar World Cup will be remembered by people for a long time than any other World Cup.

Winning the world cup is once in a lifetime opportunity. Messi was fortunate enough to have his name inscribed in world cup trophy. This was his last chance and he managed to win the world cup. At the same time, this was the last world cup (probably) for Cristiano Ronaldo as well. Unlike Messi, he had a rather forgettable tournament where he was continuously humiliated by his own team. Qatar 2022 was probably the last major tournament for these players as well - Pepe, Dani Alves, Thiago Silva and Danny Vukovic. The oldest player was Alfredo Talavera (only player who was aged 40 or more).

Yes, there's indeed a good chance that the Qatar World Cup was going to be the last World Cup for the both of them considering their age and the timetable of the next World Cup that will be hosted by the United States of America. Although, both of them haven't spoke yet about the likeliness of this matter but I've read an article that said that CR7's last dance will be in UEFA Euro this coming 2024.
1245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco on: January 06, 2023, 04:04:04 PM
Looking at the last fight of Loma, I think he is not in his prime anymore. The early 30s to mid-30s are the most common for most boxers to lose their primes. I believe Haney will be the stronger and faster guy and he will win against this version of Loma. As a huge fan of Loma since the start of his pro career, I hate to see him lose. Maybe Haney cannot make the weight and just move up. Cheesy

Haha you got me there! Grin

But anyway, I agree with you and as a fan of Lomachenko, it's really hard to see him on this phase where his prime years has ended quite early than expected despite the fact that he's still on his early 30s. I'm expecting that he will at least achieve the rank of Devin Haney before his career goes down but I think that's too much to ask because his recent fight reveals that he's not the kind of Loma we used to know. Devin Haney will definitely win this fight as Loma's sole advantage is his IQ in the ring, which Haney also got it and explains why he got the rank of being the undisputed in the lightweight division.

Not be easy for Haney to just move up in weight and forget about Loma or make it easy for Loma to take all the belts because that's what his goal is at 135 lbs. Loma is known as hi-tech so that says its, he is on a different level as setting up his power punches, the angle and the intangibles in the fight. So we shouldn't discount him just because of his last poor showing against a big and young fighter in Ortiz.

Well, there's only one way to find out if Loma is indeed way over his prime these days. I agree, let's just give the man some time to adjust because he's was probably struggling in that fight as he was away for some time because of the war that broke out in the north. Not underestimating him either, but just like how you describe Haney, he is truly different from the rest which explains why he is the undisputed in the lightweight division. It will be a tough challenge for Loma to fight a boxer that has an upgraded version of what he was in his younger years.
1246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you guys bet on sports or casinos more? on: January 06, 2023, 02:20:44 PM
I'm curious as to what the ratio is for users on this forum in terms of sports vs casino betting.

I personally bet on sports 95% of the time because you can actually make money on it.
Like you, most people picked sports, and I understand that but is it just me that plays casino games while waiting for the games? I mean if you gamble on sports, that is like usually at night for me, or like after dinner at least, and until then? What do you do, just wait it out?

Yes, I'd give some time off to rest until dinner time will come and while waiting on the specific game where I did some bets or wait for the game where I want to bet, live. Aside from waiting the games out, most people have some day jobs which kept them busy for the whole day and hindering them from betting in casinos.

But in general, I'd still choose sports betting over casinos because my spending habit in gambling are quite minimized as I'm only following some specific schedules on the games I'd like to bet with.
1247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia on: January 06, 2023, 02:00:14 PM
I think that's already a given fact on Ryan, remember he even calls Davis "ugly" to be a champ in the Mike Tyson podcast.
This is 2 years ago and he says the same thing, 2 rounds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oe35Bmq1A4I
And he still has the same attitude mate, but the good thing is that they are going to face each other and let's see who is going to put to sleep on the canvass and how long this fight is going to last.

I can't wait for their promotional speech in their upcoming fights and it would be even more worth watching this time. I think they both hate each other and find themselves to be the best rivalry that needs to clash in the ring to prove to everyone who is the best boxer in the weight division. This time Garcia can truly prove to the world that he is not only strong against small fishes and he can also take down big fish with his left hook too. Davis should not let other's critics of Garcia make him at ease because they both need to do as much training as they can because this time they are both at the advantage.

Yes, that would be great to see and I think it's somehow safe to assume that there will be some spicy words that will go in the air because of their heat. Anyway, as far as I know, there was no rivalry before and it was Ryan Garcia that started this as he's calling Davis to fight him but the latter is not interested as he's not that known before. Garcia kept on provoking Davis which resulted to this bout, I hope Ryan Garcia knows what he is up to and that he can back his words because he will be embarrassed for sure if it turns out that he's biting more than what he can chew.
1248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 05, 2023, 03:55:37 AM
And so the trend continues with high caliber NBA players pushing their limit, Giannis against the Wizards, 55 points, 10 boards, 7 assists. I know, this is payback time for Giannis as some of the bettors are made against him not playing the last time because of the late news about his injuries and so majority of us lost our parlay and singles bet.

As for the Mitchell drug tested, I think it's fair, I didn't click on the link but what is the NBA looking for as a sort of performance enhancing drugs in basketball?

Steroids.  Not that I think he is on them but being artificially stronger than opposing guards is a huge advantage.  Being able to muscle through the lane, shoot through contact etc.  They randomly check every team/player, it just so happens that dude went nuts the night they got checked.  Could be a mere coincidence, I haven't read up whether it was a random or non random check.
Whether random or his performance triggered a drug test doesn't matter. All players agree to tests at any time and if he is clean, he has nothing to worry about. Personally, I think he's clean but better safe than sorry when it comes to a billion-dollar sport like the NBA.

I also don't suspect that he has taking any enhancing drugs for that matter. We have seen him scoring even when he was still in Utah, maybe he just woke up on the right side of the bed and just decided to take over that game and win it for them.

And now it's Giannis turn to have a 50 point game performance, Klay had one as well. And so as we have discussed, this season is going to be a special one with this kind of scoring and specially if Lebron will break Jabbar's record it will be the ultimate scoring record.

I guess it was just a surprise test because Donovan Mitchell managed to put 71 points with 11 assists which got the NBA executives thinking that maybe he was on PEDs that's why he managed to drop that kind of stats, honestly, it was surprising too but that didn't gave me some doubts that he was on some kind of enhancing drugs. Also, he is not alone in this season because lots of players in any given team also managed to put up huge stats.
1249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 04, 2023, 05:20:43 AM
The odds continue to shift to the side of the Celtics now that SGA is confirmed out of the lineup for the side of OKC and tbh I even liked their spread a bit more regardless of the blowout loss they had against the Sixers.

The Celtics will probably win here but i'll try a small bet on OKC+13.5 @1.69 bought all the points I can get on Stake and hope they perform much better and keep the game a bit close.

This bet will probably go through because even if you gave a -5 handicap to the home team, they will still win the game and that's almost guaranteed because they are now leading the game with a 30+ points. Quite surprised by the game actually because I was expecting the opposite thing where the Celtics leads the game and not the other way around.

Well, this bet totally won and the handicap became pointless because they were up by 30 points against the Celtics. This bet could've won more if it was just a regular bet with no handicap included, but who could've guess that the Celtics will get defeated for the 2nd time since the year started. Honestly, nobody saw this coming and I believe that a lot of bets have go down the drain in this game.
1250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: January 04, 2023, 03:25:11 AM

And that's the true advantage right there because even though Garcia have the size advantage, Davis here is already accustomed fighting with that scenario and surely he prepared for it because he knows that there will be some times that he'll get to fight with other boxers that are much taller than him and he doesn't want that his size will be the one who will give him the disadvantage despite the KO power he had.

The reach difference isn't small, and I think that is what Ryan Garcia is working out.  Making use of all his advantages.  If executed properly, I think Gervonta Davis may have difficulty moving around and closing into Ryan Garcia.

Ryan Garcia should be careful and I expect the best from him because he had to cancel his fight with Mercito Gesta just train and prepare straightly for his fight with Tank Davis. And yes, I also think that this bout won't be needing a full 12 rounds.

This skipped fight with Ryan Garcia may take a toll on him.  The fight against Gesta is a good way to test his training, there is a possibility of signs of ring rust too because of too much idleness before Ryan's fight against Gervonta.  I think Ryan is getting too confident that can possibly work against him.

I agree, if Ryan will take that advantage of is, being long and used his jab even further in this fight, stiff and strong jab that will let Davis very uncomfortable and can't execute his game play then Ryan might have a chance to win.

And then probably Davis will adjust too maybe in the middle of the fight, maybe put more pressure on Ryan and push him to make that one mistake and then he deliver his knock out, just like what he did against Romero. Very cautious but then when Rolly goes after him, Davis saw that opportunity. So there could be rounds of adjustment for both fighter, and it could be a chess match in the beginning.

However if Tank begins to pressure Ryan, it might also give Ryan some opportunities for a step back before left hook. How is Tank Davis' jaw because it might be also be his test. There are already many people who speculate that Ryan has a glass jaw, but how is Tank's jaw?

According to this article Ryan wants Tank to knock out Hector Garcia out cold hehe. Is Ryan pressuring Tank?

“I want Tank to knock [Hector Luis Garcia] out cold. It will make out fight even bigger,” said Ryan Garcia via ESPN

Source https://www.boxingnews24.com/2023/01/ryan-garcia-wants-tank-davis-to-ko-hector-to-make-their-fight-bigger/

Probably, Ryan Garcia was just messing Tank Davis in his head to finish the fight much earlier than anybody is expecting it to be. This young blood should just focus in his preparation for their upcoming fight because I bet he will be having some mental issues again if he will get embarrassed in this fight, too playing won't help him in his goal because Tank Davis is a critical thinker, he can't fathom it because Ryan Garcia is yet to come in that state.
Talking about their jaw, Ryan was already revealed that his jaw can be crack easily, while Davis's jaw is still unknown but I reckon is much sturdier than the Ryan.

Happy new year people!

I'm curious as to what the ratio is for users on this forum in terms of sports vs casino betting.

I personally bet on sports 95% of the time because you can actually make money on it.

Slots and other casino games are a waste of time in my opinion.

I can't understand why people would waste their crypto on casinos where the odds and algorithms are stacked against you.

I am planning to put 3-6 BTC on Novak Djokovic to win the 2023 Australian Open.

I just need to find a trustworthy sportsbook who will not only accept the bet but pay me too.

I've heard and read too many horror stories.

Definitely Sports Betting, I certainly wouldn't deny that I've played casino as there's also some time that I want a fast paced games and games based on luck but that's just rare because I'm a sports betting kind of person who watch various sports while betting on it to keep myself entertained whenever I'm free or to release some steam from a long day from work. It wasn't a huge bets either, just a spare few bucks per day if I'm vacant.

Bunch of good games on tonight.  Taking 4 home teams today:

Sixers -4 at home against the Pelicans
Pacers -1.5 home against the Raptors
Nets -12 home against Detroit
And last give me Houston +7.5 home against the Mavericks.

Good luck tonight everyone and enjoy the games Smiley
Perfect bet. Congratulations.

The Cavs game was wild with Mitchell extra hot. But the Warriors' game was way wilder as Klay Thompson ignites his inner splash brother in a double overtime game against the Hawks.  Cheesy
I bet that will silence all the critics that had been throwing bad words at him.

Funny thing is that the NBA was too cruel for the Cleveland Cavaliers as they are drug testing the whole roster later, they just can't believe that Donovan Mitchell made a double-double with a career high of 70+ points, that's why they will be testing them. NBA didn't even let them celebrate what happened Grin

And yes, that Warriors vs Hawks match-up was too intense. Klay Thompson unleashed his beast and almost carried the team with 54 points, it's just rare to see double OT's. Could have been triple OT if it wasn't for Looney.
1254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 03, 2023, 09:06:36 PM
Surely, we haven't got any thought about Nash's lack of experience as a head coach because we're too focused to the three drama queen that has been making headlines ever since they teamed up, after all, it was just Nash who can't control the superstars in his stable that he was once under his watch. I'm just glad that the Nets management managed to have the correct choice and keeping Durant in-exchange of freeing Nash. Made some sense why KD has been quite after firing Nash.
I still think Steve Nash is a good coach, maybe the Nets is not for him with veterans all over their roster. If given one more chance to lead a young team he will surely learn more on how to keep everything under control and maybe that will also add to his experience on how to manage them.
KD and Kyrie, two stars, veterans in the league, they want a respected coach or someone who will just stay silent if they both want the game to be in their shoulders when it's needed.
No play required, just give them the ball.

Seems that way, I don't mean at all that Steve Nash cannot handle any team in the league now especially that he already got the experience. It's just that Brooklyn Nets is too much for him too handle, last season, he held 3 superstars (Harden included before he was traded) that are hard to control because everyone single one of the stars he handled had some issues and there's this Covid-19 too that kept on hitting the roster.

I agree that he should be given a 2nd chance but this time, a much younger team. But that's a tough challenge now because he's now painted as a bad image because the Nets is now straight as an arrow since he was removed.

Warriors, which is -3 at home against the Hawks.
Just ride with the Warriors, they are very impressive at home and they might continue their home win streak.
Only bet against them once they will start struggling, especially when they are playing on the road.
That's friendly advice dude. Grin

And the Cavaliers hosting the bulls with -4 spread. Will the bulls upset the home team to avenge their loss?
Don't mess with the Cavaliers at home, they have an 80% winning chance at home based on their record.
1256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: High Profit Projects Are Prone To Scam on: January 02, 2023, 10:44:33 AM
This is always a thing we all advise ourselves or new traders to lookout for, but one thing funny is that a team that will be scam or that will not stand by their word which at the beginning was fair, friendly and attractive at site, having achieved it's aim, ends up abandoning the project and moves with the money.
The team working on the project can't be tagged as scammers or geniue and that is why investors have this issue when it comes to investment. Making your research, you'll definitely get everything that will make a project look very good, but the heart intent of the team can't be exposed or seen on the forefront.

Perhaps, they are clever enough to hide their real identity in order for them to make other projects and scam more. They did their best so nobody could notice that they will scam us but sometimes, they will fail to protect it because we already learn from the past scam experience and we are now careful, especially for a new project that promises high-profit returns. I'd see that everyone is now doing their job which makes these scammers hard work and mostly fail in their evil plans.
1257  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts on revenge trading? on: January 02, 2023, 10:17:04 AM
Of recent, I've come across alot of people talking about traders chasing their losses which at the end, leads to possible blowing of accounts.
I understand that people trade with expections and most times when this expectations aren't met, they try as much as possible to chase after their losses and my questions are
~ what is your take on revenge trading?
~ Do you think people intentionally go into revenge trading or is is just emotional?
~ what will you advise someone making series of losses ?
We don't need to do that if we aim to succeed in trading. Chasing losses is also a chance of losing more. Why? It is because you are not enjoying trading anymore but what is in your mind is to recover your losses and this is not a good habit that a trader must have to ware. What we need is to have peace of mind despite the losses we get in the past and forget about it. Might it was hard but thinking the past mistakes and losses are a hindrance to thinking of better strategies, instead it will cause only more trouble if we continue.

...

The above shameful scam has completely negative impact on the Bitcoin market in 2022.  We all hope that such incidents do not happen in cryptocurrencies in the coming years.

Unfortunately, we're not yet done as the bear season continues and we can't be confident that this year 2023 no scam will happen.

Anyways, we can just hope for a recovery this year. The accumulations seem growing meaning that people are not afraid of the risk despite the big scam that happened last year. It was an indication that it never affects the trust in crypto.

We are heading towards halving next year and it looks more exciting as most likely everyone is expecting a new trend on the market. I can say that this year is likely to become an accumulation year in the crypto market.
1259  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading With Borrowed Funds!!! on: January 01, 2023, 09:01:38 AM
I will answer from the psychological point of view. For the sake of your mental health, never trade or invest in bitcoin with borrowed funds or worst still any money you know that you cannot afford to lose. This cannot be over stressed or over emphasized enough. When your creditors starts calling and the money haven't 2x or 10x for you to give them back their capital, you will experience all the negative emotions in the world that can put you in a bad place mentally. Please do not do it.
I'd see it was not the best option but sometimes we also have to think that if we just wait to have capital before we start trading, we are also wasting our time for that. We were all not born rich, many of us are poor but wanted to improve our living through trading. That is why I can't blame others to have debt because they don't have other options and they don't want to lose their time waiting. Whether it was not right or not advisable but there is no impossible if we work hard. In fact, trading is just all about knowledge, skills, and courage. And of course, self-control.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is perhaps the richest sportsperson in recorded history. He received a record $300 million for his last fight against McGregor, which none of the other sportsmen can dream about. The good thing about Floyd is that he never splurged his wealth or misspent it. He was careful with his money. And also, he never overstretched himself. He retired at the age of 40, when a lot of critics were of the opinion that he had at least 2-3 years left. Given all this, I don't think that anyone can accuse him of being money minded.
$300M for real? With a match against a professional athlete for other combat sports. That's totally a lot of money and contract for him. That's a big payday for him and he's certainly fits to the alias that he's got, Money.
I agree that Floyd in terms of his wealth, he knows how to handle it. People may see him boasting all about it but that's not the point, he's worked hard for it wherever and whatever his financial situation right now.

Yes mate, that's true! Floyd Mayweather Jr. earned a whopping $300 Million in his fight against Conor McGregor while the latter have earned $100 Million, I guess PPV shares are already included and computed along the reported figures. Somehow that figures doesn't surprise me anymore because Mayweather and McGregor is the stars and most controversial athletes in their respective sports, so surely, an impressive revenue will be generated upon their collision.

I have learned that it is Floyd's biggest paycheck, 2nd biggest is his fight against the legendary Manny Pacquiao that earned himself $250M.
