1261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: The Official Mastercoin Foundation, Master Protocol & Mastercoin Thread on: June 03, 2014, 02:21:07 PM
disappointed on you and MSC team!
No you are not.  You are disappointed with the performance of the market.  You didn't make your 50X on investment and now you want to blame JR.  JR isn't responsible for 'pumping' markets.  JR is responsible for building a protocol and they continue to work on providing a good system.  Now that there is so much 'sell pressure' - you somehow thing JR is not doing his job.  That is bullshit.  Mastercoin isn't a pump and dump scheme.  It actually has to be built.  Panic is for Dogecoin.  Go there.
1262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Thinly Traded Markets on: May 30, 2014, 11:40:15 PM
On thinly traded markets....

Mastercoin is traded on MasterXChange.com.  The volume is very, very low - a thinly traded market.
Sellers
Some traders there are selling Mastercoin they received as developers for the protocol.  They need money to pay their bills.  Lately, the price of MSC has been significantly driven lower.  There are plenty of 'coins' available for sale as several people counted on selling MSC to pay for their daily expenses (supply).
Buyers
There are very few new buyers.  In part, this is due to the fact that the Mastercoin team is fully engaged with development and totally uninterested about 'pump and dump' marketing schemes.  Mastercoin has not made any real attempt to 'attract' new participants to use the protocol but rather have concentrated on getting the protocol ready for some more serious use.  There are almost no new 'investors' (demand).

Because of this 'supply/demand' mismatch in this thinly traded market, the price is wildly out-of-line with the true value of Mastercoin.  Nearly all original investors remain bullish about the potential for success in this system.  People who hold Mastercoin remain very optimistic and still value their MSC quite high.  After just a few successes, the price will snap back up to a point which more closely reflects what the true believers of MasterProtocol estimate the value to be.

Basically, anyone selling today is selling VERY cheap Mastercoin.  They are likely getting 1/10th what 95% of MSC holders actually value the coin for.  This is due to the fact that this isn't the stock market with hundreds of thousands of participants, but rather, we are in a very thinly traded market.  People who sell at this point are getting ripped-off big time.  They are giving their MSC away cheap.

Those who cried when the coin was at .25 about having 'missed the boat' should remember this moment.  When MSC returns to sky high values, we are going to say you had your chance to pick them up cheap.

   MSC is extremely cheap now.
1263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / New Bitcoin Foundation on: May 23, 2014, 07:01:53 PM
Due to an extreme lack of confidence in the Bitcoin Foundation, now is the time for it to disband and reform.  It is absolution clear that without a reset, there is no hope for restoring faith to this organization.

Both Antonopolis and Andresen stay.  All others go. Andreas and Gavin must decide how to bring about a new organization which is not corrupt and effectively moves bitcoin forward.

I call on all members of the present board to dismiss themselves and allow a new entity to come forth without resistance and fighting.  It is the right thing to do.  If the present directors ever had any genuine concern for bitcoin, they should do this without further delay.  Continued resistance indicates further corruption - as those who want to cling to their seats are merely looking out for themselves rather than bitcoin as a whole.

1264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Support Bitcoin - Support favorable politicians on: May 22, 2014, 12:32:26 AM
Guys, this is the only bitcoin donation which is interesting.  Don't waste bitcoins on dumbass things.  Instead, support election of politicians who will support bitcoin.  http://www.coindesk.com/meet-the-us-political-candidates-who-are-embracing-bitcoin/  Please go to that site and donate a few bits to everyone.  Even if the amount is tiny, it is a HUGE statement.

1265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ulbricht Conviction to 'Threaten Internet Freedom' lol on: April 26, 2014, 07:17:45 PM
You are a dumbass if you don't get it. And I doubt he tried to have anyone "murdered".  Don't believe everything you read...if you manage that somehow with your feeble brain.

As long as the media is not unbiased, we should not believe anything that is pasted out in the mass media. And talking about the American cops, they are very famous for planting the evidence.
Sure - like Ulbricht is just this innocent guy minding his own business when BAM! Cops planted evidence against him.  Hahahahaha.  Nothing is more clear than the fact that Ulbrict is a drug dealer of the highest order.  He is the same as a common drug dealer who employs a little kid on the street to make the handoff.  An then argues that the kid was the actual drug dealer.  Ulbricht devise the most sophisticated drug trading platform in history and he knew that was its purpose and he benefited to a very high moentary level.  These 'tricks' like: 'bitcoin is not money, therefore he is innocent' is completely silly.  Ulbricht is a world class drug lord who got caught red handed.  Stop screaming if he is convicted, it will destroy internet freedom.  You are not free to make drug trading platforms on the internet.  Get back to work.
1266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Buy MaidSafeCoin (MSAFE) with Mastercoin on: April 25, 2014, 07:33:03 PM
Just a quick note to vouch for maxmint. He provided early exchange services between BTC and MSC when I first launched MSC, and to my knowledge he never defrauded anybody in what must have been dozens of transactions.

I have permitted Max to hold more that $100,000 of mine for extended periods of time.  I am willing to bet this guy would never steal a dime from anyone.  I am serious, he is the most honest guy in the community and he has been entrusted with money by more people than just about anyone I know.

Absolute highest confidence Max is a trustworthy agent.  Tip him well as he deserves it.  He single handedly make liquidity in the MSC market when there was no alternative and as a result a whole lot of people made money are a result.  Max is a Hero.

Grin JR'wife is so Clever .  we  hold msc ,JR and his wife sold.  Practice has proved: jr'wife is very wise !today msc:0.05btc  Grin
LittleBlue - (aka Viagra)

We have been doing everything possible to drive the price down.  This is not easy.  Many people keep paying to get more MSC.  However, with renewed efforts we were able to finally get the price down to .05.  We continue to try to 'trick' the markets to get it down even further.  But it seems that we are finally at a place where we cannot get it to go lower.

JR and his wife was very generous to help with the 'redistribution' efforts.  They sold at very undervalued prices in order to make MSC more available to new people.  Now, many new people can join and enjoy the MSC successes.  Before, with JR holding so much, only a few MSC holders would enjoy all the profits.  It was very hard to talk JR into selling for 1/10 of the value that he believed the coins to be worth.  But for the good of fellow man, JR did finally come to his senses and he did 'give away' many coins for an insanely low price of almost nothing.

Today, still much less than one year from the first day, MSC has increased in value 500%.  This is VERY bad.  We are still trying to get the price down more.  However, greedy people keep buying them and we cannot prevent it.  We are trying to find additional ways to flood the market with other coins.  JR doesn't want to give even more away.  But nobody wants to let their MSC go.  We are able to get the developers to sell their as they need to eat and pay rent.  Thankfully, this drives the price down.  But, that won't last forever.  All the major holders continue to hold and less and less each day are coming into the market.  That is why this is your very last chance to buy them cheap.

Me and a few others will continue to do everything we can to make them cheaper and more distributed for now.  But I don't think I'll be able to get them to .03.  I'll keep trying though.  But we can no longer depend upon JR's wife's generosity.  I am told she no longer will allow JR to give away more MSC.  (Seems a little bit greedy to me)
1268  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Live Bitcoin Price For Your Website (feedback please) on: March 26, 2014, 06:54:49 PM
It's good, but I still prefer the one available from CoinDesk, as it gives a nice little interactive graph for prices over the last hour.
Oh, that is nice too.  However, you still have to carry 1) a link to coindesk, 2) a coindesk logo, and 3) two tooltips with 'coindesk' in them.  That is a lot of advertisement to promote for a site which contribute not so much to a web page.  But, I have to admit I like it too.  I might change to that one.
1269  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Live Bitcoin Price For Your Website (feedback please) on: March 26, 2014, 04:03:18 PM
This is a great example of the limitations of existing offers I mentioned in the first post. It represents a single price put forth by a "retail Bitcoin seller" and is not indicative of the Bitcoin market as a whole.

You are wrong actually.  That might come from the website of a bitcoin seller, but the price comes direct from a very accurate (probably one of the best) API and is always updated to reflect an average of the three biggest exchanges.  Just check the price for yourself.  I think you will be impressed.  It is a VERY accurate reflection of the instantaneous bitcoin market as a whole.

Not going to address your "hoge-poge mess of advertising" comment as feedback (except from you, offering a similar service and trying to hijack the thread) has been positive overall...

We believe pricing transparency is very important to Bitcoins overall success.

All our index data is public, we list the 7 major USD exchanges included and their last price on the Index site, updated every minute.

What are the "3 biggest exchanges" you have included? Where is your index data? How is calculated? How often is it updated?

As someone selling Bitcoin "retail" as you put it, where do you get yours wholesale? Why should I (or anyone) trust your advertised price?

Just some food for thought...

Again, our service is free, we don't operate an exchange or sell Bitcoins for profit, our only goal is to help people share an indexed price for Bitcoin, and yes, spread the word that the index exists here: http://www.CoinCadence.com/bitcoin-index/ Wink

First off, that's not my site.  I don't sell anything.  Not retail - not wholesale.  I just noticed that the price of that thing is highly accurate.  It is very freaking close to bitstamp all the time. I don't know how it's calculated - but I guess from looking it is closely tied to the three biggest exchanges.  Prove me wrong - do you see any price errors on that one?  Didn't think so.  Your system on the other hand is full of eyesore crap.  It is busy and cluttered.  The other one is actually free - unlike yours which comes with 'free' advertising for you.  Hey, you don't have to use it.  I just discovered that it is pretty cool and decided to share with others.  Keep offering yours around - someone without pride will surely take it.
1270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Titanium on: March 26, 2014, 02:05:11 PM
maybe the dumping of coins faster than a nascar car can give a hint  Undecided
The 'dumps' do come very fast these days.  The life cycle of the pump-dump is remarkably short now.  What?  about 10 minutes I'd say.
1271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MasterCoin: New Protocol Layer Starting From “The Exodus Address” on: March 26, 2014, 02:03:30 PM
Would anyone from Mastercoin like to comment on http://www.coindesk.com/developers-battle-bitcoin-block-chain/ OP_RETURN issue?

In case Bitcoin developers don't bend, it should be feasible to move Mastercoin to its own blockchain and use some proof of stake system or maybe even some hybrid model. I know this has been considered by Mastercoin before and even has some advantages.

Thoughts?
It is very easy - even trivial to move to its own blockchain.  The problem you have with that is, then it doesn't work.  The entire concept of MSC is that it enhances and improves bitcoin.  Making a DEx for AnyCoin is not interesting.  A DEx (and other cool tricks) which work with THE bitcoin is very cool.

I have been buying from them to furnish most of my new apartment and have spend close to 2BTC there now.
Sounds like a very nice place - man!
1273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 2.0 - being shut down by Bitcoin 1.0 core devs? on: March 26, 2014, 11:15:15 AM
Bitcoin (and all others) requires an open-source mindset and work-ethics, which might come as a culture shock to people coming from closed source walled garden environments.

There is no spec and you are entitled to nothing, but you do have the ability to contribute and profit from everyones contribution. All the proposed improved Bitcoin replacement projects will run into the exact same problems and seeing the scope of some of them, this issue might even be terminal to their business plan.

'Open source' is sure a wild animal.  Solves all sorts of problems - creates so many more.

So many of my 'open source' friends planned on Linux and Firefox ruling the world by this date.  Yet, I wonder how many machines are still running windows/apple.  Growth in Linux/Firefox/RedHat seems at least disorganized.

Will bitcoin suffer from the same disorganization?
1274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 2.0 - being shut down by Bitcoin 1.0 core devs? on: March 26, 2014, 10:24:53 AM
XCP/MSC will always be sort of castrated and limited by the bitcoin blockchain, not to mention too slow, that's why NXT and Bitshares technologies have more bright prospects, as they can truely develop without looking back to what bitcoin developers have to say. All of them have the same goals, but why choose those that have limitations from the start.
MSC and others are not about replacing bitcoin.  It is about making bitcoin better and more functional.  There is nothing wrong with the bitcoin we already have.  Bitcoin is awesome.  Imperfect - but awesome.
1275  Other / Meta / Bitcoin 2.0 on: March 26, 2014, 09:55:32 AM
Why is bitcoin talk - openly hostile towards bitcoin 2.0.  These are not 'alt coins'.  Yet, the admin here insists on shoving these topics to hell.  Advanced bitcoin features and uses effect the entire bitcoin community and bitcoin core.  Yet, the admin here just goes bizerk at the mere mention of things like colored coins.  WTF?  These are very interesting bitcoin technologies you are suppressing.  Stupid.

The odds of a collision with a given address are 1 / 1461501637330902918203684832716283019655932542976 per attempt
This backs my assertion.  You admit it is possible.  Just like the lottery, mathematically improbable, yet it happens all the time.
Just like entire planets quantum tunnelling into different galaxies. All the time man! All the time...
Once the first collision occurs and is mathematically explained - all you guys who are overly happy on the '9' key are going to shit bricks.   9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999.  lol
'entire planets quantum tunnelling into different galaxies'  - I think you've seen too many episodes of Star Trek

no, they are batman!
This is totally not true!  Batman has shoes.  Bitcoin has no shoes - therefore bitcoin cannot be Batman.  QED.  God you people have no logic skills at all.
1279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 2.0 - being shut down by Bitcoin 1.0 core devs? on: March 26, 2014, 09:32:46 AM
Sorry... but when I download the Bitcoin blockchain, I am hosting it for Bitcoin, not Mastercoin, not Colored Coins...

(Bitcoin) Blockchain serving anything anything other than Bitcoin is considered parasitic.
When I downloaded the blockchain, I don't want anyone to use it for buying pornography.  But we don't get to decide what people use the blockchain for.

Besides, 'mastercoin' isn't something 'new' at all.  It is merely 'bitcoin on steroids'.  It is still bitcoin.  It is just 'high performance bitcoin'.  Why do you insist 'it is something - not bitcoin'.  Mastercoin is bitcoin+.  It's bitcoin.
1280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 2.0 - being shut down by Bitcoin 1.0 core devs? on: March 26, 2014, 08:27:47 AM
How do they seem to be doing this?
talk of:
 scraping multisig,
 limiting OP_RETURN to 40 bytes,
other means to exclude these transactions from miner processing,
 among others.

I respect the mission for stability and security.  But at what expense?

Does Vitalik have it right?  Is it time to 'redo from start'?
