do you guys think if bitcoin reaches a very high market cap.. that it would still be heavily manipulated? i'd think so.. by then a lot of major players will enter the game and they will collude to swing hard.

Once bitcoins starts trading quasi-legitimately, they'll just string another cable from New York to Chicago to knock off a couple nanoseconds of trading time to earn a few satoshis per each and every transaction.
1262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Willy Report...What do you guys make of it? on: May 25, 2014, 09:34:07 PM
i don't think it has surprised anyone that the market was manipulated, especially considering the small market cap. you wouldn't even need that much $$$ to make big splashes, and someone is always willing to cross that line to make money.

i think murphy's law is very applicable to bitcoin's adoption. seems to me that bitcoin is both a good and bad thing.. and it just is what it is.

Let's see how we can make something so beautiful, then fuck it up, akin to sex being a beautiful things, but let's see if can fuck children in their asses to achieve the same jollies.

It must have taken so, so, so, long to compile, break down, and analyze all that data.   The conclusions that are drawn from it are pretty hard to dispute.  Whoever is behind this has done a very good job at keeping a low profile, and staying under the radar, unless it is Karpeles himself.

Yes, very hard to dispute what he has presented, because it's all verifiable. I do want to go through each line of the order book to do the same analysis, but there's just too much time commitment to get the same results.

Yeah it would be a full time job in itself to try and break all this down. Obviously, I am massively against market manipulation, but in hind sight, it looks like it could be argued that all of this actually brought more liquidity to the BTC market and made more investors pour money into BTC (playing devil's advocate).

Until Paymium pays me back the 1,132 BTC that they stole from me via InstaWallet, for the past month this is damn close to a full-time job for me, starting with Brock Pierce, et al. firmly in my crosshairs and on my RADAR.

Surprisingly, David Francois (davout, staff on this forum) amassed 1,300+ BTC in one of his fat-ass bitcoin wallets shortly after I lost my 1,132 BTC, once worth $1.5M+ USD from a RL investment of ~$20K USD, worth over $100K USD when Paymium, et al. "hack" their own InstaWallet site. How convenient!
1264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Willy Report...What do you guys make of it? on: May 25, 2014, 09:19:43 PM
I read the report. The points are well argued and backed up. I did not verify its claims from the leaked data (most members here will not either). Whether it presented is the trust did not matter. It provided an valid analysis and the liquidators in Japan can use those leads to do their own research. If there were fraudulent transactions initiated from inside gox, they will look into them. MK would be looking at jailtime.

And, also now Sunlot, et al. to look into how they were connected with Mt Gox, not to mention Autumn Radtke's suicide(?).
1265  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Proof of massive fraudulent trading activity and how it has affected the price on: May 25, 2014, 09:14:58 PM
I guess Mark thought he could get away with it.

And he did get away with it.
Other exchange owners, upon noticing this, will surely be quite tempted to pull off a similar crime, no?
And we all know what that will do to the BTC price and real world adoption. The media will have a field day, again. Thus, the Average Joes will stay far away from anything Bitcoin-related.

This. After the mtgox fiasco, many exchanges (specifically alt coins) were supposedly "hacked" and had funds "stolen".

To paraphrase...

"You're goin' need a bigger bed!"

These guys like to play with other's money, so now it's time to play with their livelihood. Game on!
1266  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Proof of massive fraudulent trading activity and how it has affected the price on: May 25, 2014, 08:30:16 PM
2) I think Willie accelerated and pushed the envelope higher than it otherwise should have been, but remember, the other exchanges did naturally achieve these prices on their own.

How can you say other exchanges naturally achieved those prices on their own?

Agreed someone can't say that. When one exchange pushes price up or down its natural the others follow to a certain extent because of the web trade possibilities. Except when gox was crashing but that's because no one could get fiat out.

Imagine, if you will, for it's a stretch, somebody operating said minor exchanges to benefit due to the contrived arbitrage opportunities. No wonder Sunlot wanted to get their hands on Mr Gox ASAP.
1267  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Proof of massive fraudulent trading activity and how it has affected the price on: May 25, 2014, 08:26:52 PM
Reading the article now, of which I see (via a search) that the author forgot to mention User # 44557 (44557,ttux,marc@ttux.net,$1$zRJRdGL.$VFrVkrM.g/DPp9A6eQH5D.) of that first Mt Gox dump, of which I just easily connected BTCINVEST.ORG to.
1268  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Proof of massive fraudulent trading activity and how it has affected the price on: May 25, 2014, 07:58:12 PM
What are your thoughts on this in regards to the current price post-Gox? Do you agree?

Also, let me leave you with a tidbit. Instead of measuring the distances between the peaks... measure the distance between the peak and when the market finishes it's reversal and starts heading up again (e.g like this past month when we switched from bear to bull market) and tell me what you find. I think it's even more alarmingly consistent across the price since day 1.

"I see a pattern here!"
1269  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Proof of massive fraudulent trading activity and how it has affected the price on: May 25, 2014, 07:55:55 PM
Bravo to the author of this article. Very convincing indeed, but I do not have the time to go through the same analysis that the author went through, so I'll just take his word for what it is.

Assuming this to be 100% correct, then how is it still free market when you don't know if other large exchanges like btc-china, bitstamp, or btc-e are doing the same thing? The only way the mtgox order book was analyzed was because the database was leaked. You can't expect other exchanges to conveniently leak their database for you to verify.

There have been several allegations of price fixing and fraudulent transactions on some of the big exchanges. It's even more prevelant on some of the smaller ones that deal with all these crappy alts that are pumped and dumped.

Especially when you consider the fact that some of them exchanges and alt coins operate under one roof, Bitropolis, overseen by none other than Bitcoin's Boy Toy, Brock Pierce.

2) The idea that Willy changed / manipulated the market price upward is definitely apparent. The price has run from the single to double digits into the triple and quadruple digits during Willy's tenure at Gox. However, in the ~4 months since Willy's departure from the market, in a post-Gox market the price has readily sustained a level that was ~50x - 100x higher than where the market price began before the price was being so viciously manipulated.

In the end, to be honest, it might have actually been the best thing that could have happened because at the expense of half a billion (in current value) of peoples money we might never have breached $32 again, or it might have taken years longer.

Fortunately, for us, we now have all them mom-and-pop B & M's - worldwide - accepting bitcoins to maintain, then further increase the exchange rate to da moon thanks to the velocity of money, read Bitcoin. Let that sink in for a sec before you recheck a map to see where the nearest outfit that accepts bitcoins is located in your neck of the woods.
1271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Families Boycotting Overstock Due to Them Accepting Bitcoin on: May 25, 2014, 07:36:26 PM
Would you boycott all businesses accepting USD if some federal reserv guy was accused of molesting a kid? And is it even true?

What I'm trying to get across is that any such campaign would be conducted by Overstock's competition as a means to increase their stock positions. Remember, it's all about money, in the same vain that Brock Pierce oversaw his various successful and failed enterprises - for the money, NOT for some ideal. Nothing more, nothing less. If Overstock's competition recognized an edge that they can exploit, they would be remiss to overlook it.
1272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Families Boycotting Overstock Due to Them Accepting Bitcoin on: May 25, 2014, 07:31:57 PM
How much damage can PG do to Bitcoin because of his allegations, and that's all they are.  Is everyone willing to lose value in Bitcoin over this?  He needs to shut up and instead devote his attention to something that will increase the price

You're new around, so you don't know my history of how I have championed Bitcoin on my own dime (satoshi) for the past going on three years.

Now, you're suggesting that I shut the fuck up while my 1,132 BTC stolen from me via Paymium's davout increases in value in ONE of David (staff on this forum) fat-ass bitcoin wallets, hence devoting my time to regaining control of the BTC that davout stole from me, segue speaking.

That said, go fuck yourself!
1273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / [FAKE] Families Boycotting Overstock Due to Them Accepting Bitcoin on: May 25, 2014, 06:35:02 PM
NO, it's not true, but can you easily envision Overstock's competition spearheading such a campaign to better their bottom line, all because The Bitcoin Foundation, with its board members who have a myriad degrees under their belt, are too Goddamn stupid to realize the ramifications of putting an accused pedophile on the ballot, then justifying their actions after Brock Pierce wins the board position?

Well, guess what? I probably just made said competitions millions of dollars, while I'm still out 1,132 BTC due to Paymium's principals being nothing but thieving bastards.

~Bruno Kucinskas

PS: Now, that I clearly have this Tiger by the tail, I bet it's safe to assume that Brock Pierce WILL be losing his cushion board position within 24 hours, or do I further need to fire up some WORDPRESS-themed website, if you get my drift?
1274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Foundation-fraudsters, pedophiles, murderers ,fat fucks and scammers on: May 25, 2014, 06:17:47 PM
Guilty until proven innocent? Is he a convicted sex offender or not?

Having no qualms with Bruce and Gel's lifestyle, even admiring them for such, along with their noble efforts to bring Bitcoin to the mainstream via their ONLY ONE shows, they were dug a new asshole due chiefly in part to ONLY ONE comment Bruce once made on some other formum years past regarding a three-pronged attack - forcible sex by two adult males with one early- to mid-teen boy.

The above mention probably didn't even make its way outside this forum, but was enough to have Bruce, along with his life-partner, Gil, no longer post here, scaling back their Bitcoin involvement, with fellow bitcoiners joining the choir to the tune, "Glad that pervert's gone!"

Compare that with how Brock Pierce has been in the news for over a decade about acts thousands of times worst, yet we are lead to believe that none of it is true, in spite of the myriad sources.

Hell, the learned board members with their degrees plastered on the wall for all to see thought it wise to consider putting him on the ballot, then followed through. The same crew that had disdain for Bruce Wagner. Double standard much, or only when it fits your pocketbook?

That's how it's perceived by us Bitcoin Minions, and that's have Bitcoin will be perceived as more press is penned about The Bitcoin Foundation having an accused pedophile in its ranks.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have yet another hard-on to attend to, currently eyeing a goat's left ear lobe and, to be clear, I'm not kidding.

Wow! Probably, the strangest thing I'll read today:

What you see is Apocalypse sort of using his powers to manipulate the Pyramids. And in the shot, you can see The Four Horseman sort of in shadow, or silhouette. Now, when we make the movie, it will not take place in ancient times. We went back and forth a lot on… what that scene should be. Bryan and I just locked into this idea of seeing Apocalypse at the height of his power and glory, which is what we imagined would have been in Egyptian times. It was just to give a tease of, ‘This guy is super-powerful, and there was a moment in time when he was essentially treated as a god, and he’s going to rise again in X-Men: Apocalypse.’"

Now, that's some allegory to get your head wrapped around unless, of course, some dude named Plato (thought you'd like that) has you chained to wall in a cave...
1276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All aboard! Who have you convinced to step on the BTC Train? on: May 25, 2014, 08:51:45 AM
I was about to get a restaurant here in Sandwich until one of the patrons opted to try it out first via putting $10K of his newly inherit money in Bitcoin via Bitcoinica thanks to my blessing. Since then, those in town that know me think I'm the dude behind Bitcoin. Seriously! I built Bitcoin with my HTML and CSS skill sets, alone with some Google-fu, the same way that CoinMKT was built by Travis Skweres.

I turned a couple guys onto InstaWallet as I championed them up to the "hack", not sure what they lost, if any. I'm ONLY out 1,132 BTC thanks to davout ceasing all lines of communications with me now that he has my BTC in one of his fat bitcoin wallets. At least those who have moneys in his Bitcoin-Central are safe since it's backed by a bank, namely Lemon Way, whose claim-to-fame is having ONE app under their belt. Look it up, if you happened to read past the OP of this thread.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a hard-on I need to attend to.

Taxing my memory, Matthew N. Wright used to do something similar. I know of the practice, but the process eludes me.
I read about that yes. I know how they work and they are quite easy to make. I could write up a tracking pixel in five minutes, but why should I? I don't see the purpose of capturing someone's IP. It's not possible to get data from cookies using a tracking pixel (AFAIK) so I don't see how they can be useful.

Say you wanted to know where somebody is truly located. You send them a PM having such as the content, for only they most likely would be the one opening it up. I believe MNW tried that with theymos or some other. That's the first I even learnt that such a thingie existed. I assumed that practice was nixed somehow on this forum, but I guess I'm mistaken. Nothing another $350K doled out for the forum upgrade can't fix, I guess.

Fucking TradeFuckFace. Must be some kind of tracing image. God, I hate those so freaking much.

Need help from the community to determine if the guy in the first image is similar the guy in the two subsequent images.

Could be, but may not be...

The hair is black in the first photo, GGB's is grayer.
GGB's eyebrows are tapered, the first guy's seem to be more even.
GGB's cheeks are rather full, the top guy's do not seem to be.

I see that the top photo is from Silk Road Technology and labeled "France Team"

San Francisco Transforms Into Gotham City For Boy’s Batman Wish

Quote
The duo scrambled to Nob Hill to save the damsel, who was facing an oncoming cable car at Green and Hyde streets as the crowd yelled “Go Batkid!”

Miles untied the damsel, who had been tied to a green box filled with question marks by the “The Riddler,” one of Batman’s villains.

People also crowded around the Financial District as the duo entered a bank at 550 Montgomery St. to look for the Riddler.

Inside they found the famed villain, who tried to steal jewelry and money but Miles locked him in a barred room with nowhere to escape.

This Make-A-Wish event has everything:
