1261  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] 10x+ any GPU, no limit. on: January 14, 2015, 11:04:16 PM
I have 4 sapphire r9 280x dual-x that have been sitting around after 2 months of mining earlier this year. Would you be interested? I'd like to get $150 each for them Grin retail $309, they're always sold out, and barely used, will last a long time (50% is nice). I have the whole miner still all hooked up and with windows 7 if you wanted to go that route. Shipping would be a pain for it though. Easier to ship just GPU's.

HT has an answer for everything. And it's usually the same answer.

My take on BTC price fall.

My take on BTC price fall... all because of http://bitcointalk dot org

They have good members, but a huge chunk of it its dedicated to destroy other coins in the efforts to try to elevate theirs. Its the Old Wild West there. I used to try and seek help there when I was started and every time I posted a question the majority of replays will say something like. "if you dont know the answer to that you should be doing this" Arrogance at best, like if they all were born with the skill set. Most people are not there to help. It took me some time and had to look in other places for help.

Investors look at this blog for ideas, and progress in the industry to only find uneducated, rude people.

That's my take, Dont want to generalize, but a big chunk of they user base is like that. I hold them directly responsible for holding the price of BTC.

Wow mining is so dead it's unbelievable. Even getting free electricity the hardware will take forever to break even at these rates.

Lol I love reading these people ranting and raging. Losing a ton of money today eh?

Mysterious staff members. I'm sure somebody handles the money laundering Grin

@ Wafflemaster: I still have an S1 left for sale.... Cheap, and makes a great Christmas decoration, too!

I suspect your theories about how fast block times will catch up with a drop in hashing power is off by a large margin. We shall see how it plays out, because the die is cast.

More like three to six months for difficulty to adjust due to extremely slow blocktimes. This will put further downward pressure on BTC price and more miners will go offline. Thinking just a certain percentage and double the regular time is linear thinking. Thinks like this happen as a geometric function best described with calculus.

Don't forget that if block times slow down the supply of fresh coins will slow down as well. This should help the price.

And I don't think a drastic hashrate drop like 50% is realistic, not yet anyway. There are places with really cheap power, there are prepaid hosting contracts, hobbyists, and other factors that will keep it going.

More likely there will be a combination of some kind - hashrate will decrease somewhat, fewer coins will be dumped, price will stabilize/rise - until it reaches a new equilibrium.
Yeah I'm not worried at all for Bitcoin. It's so useful and innovative. Paycoin2 on the other hand, I'm very worried about. It has quite literally nothing but hot sauce and is only trying to be more like (In Garza's words) "Big Brother" by adding features we already have with Bitcoin. I mean, seriously people, how ignorant do you have to be to believe what he's telling you so he can line his pockets?
1266  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Zen Hashlet PayCoin unofficial uncensored discussion. ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :-) on: January 14, 2015, 05:41:47 PM
XPY has held it's value, but it is still losing money every day Grin Too many people want to cash out for it to go anywhere lol. 92% of coins aren't staked...so what does this tell you? What about the dead volume in between him promising more unrealistic or shitty things? I imagine Homero has laundered his money into BTC (so he's lost HUGE) to try to avoid regulations, but as we all know, the feds are sitting in on Bitcoin Miami. I agree with Scott that the best stock is popcorn B)

Seth, you don't even make sense, go back to your video games, kid - I can hear them saying you aren't playing hard enough, your just too mad all the time. Wink
Lol he does seem like a little rager doesn't he Grin "Toxic" is what the gaming community would call him.

It's funny they're torching Bitcoin as going lower and lower, yet their coin is pegged to Bitcoin...do they think at all before they spew garbage out of their mouth? Even though the XPY went from .01 to .016, it's still actually LOWER in price lmao. Anyways, I want to see Bitcoin go to $20. It's still super useful at whatever price it's at. You can buy anything you want with it, quite literally. Burn baby, burn. Let me get some cheap miners so I can use them on free electricty at work Cheesy Let's shake those greedy pigs out Grin You want to speculate on something do it in a regulated market like with Google stock, not an emerging market with 0 regulation and scams like GAW taking headlines as leading innovators hahahaha

yeah bitcoin is so great with dirt bags like you SCAMMING YOUR EMPLOYER FOR FREE ELECTRIC. quite the upstanding member of society. So glad you represent, east coast yo-yo bean
We have bring your own device. A miner is my device. Get over it lol I'm very well paid I just want a hobby while I'm at work other than watching movies, playing video games etc. 25% of a mining asic's electricity in a month is around $20 with our rates around here at .06.Why would you assume I'm east coast anyways? Bad troll is bad.

Wow 200 satoshi! What do you mean FaucetBox? What are the changes going to be? By the way, my credit was wiped back to 0 as well. I'm not upset it's just a little annoying. But we're constantly getting higher payouts so it will be easy to make it up.

He is back in form

Must be there threatening to quit, over worked under paid and under appreciated. Typical staff lol, those poor folks over there at paycoin. Awe,,,,,,,

Or perhaps he is scared of one or more turning. The SEC is involved now ladies and gents.
Thank you CoinFire.

You've interested me enough to look at the block time solving on blockchain.info though. I'll report back after a larger data sample Cheesy
1272  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Zen Hashlet PayCoin unofficial uncensored discussion. ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :-) on: January 14, 2015, 04:52:24 PM

The amount of miners that will be going offline in the next weeks will likely be HUGE though. It would take a year or more to catch up with something like a 50% drop in hashing power at the little difficulty adjustments that will happen, and in the meantime transaction times will keep going up. I see some serious fluctuations happening in the near future, and that is the last thing that retailers and such want in an exchange medium. It is going to be an interesting ride and I will continue to flesh out the half dozen stories I have sketched out relating to Josh's scam and BTC in general.
If 50% quit today, block times would be 20 minutes long. That wouldn't take a year lol, it would take a month (2x 2 weeks) to readjust. I gotta see what miners I'm going to buy. I'll make a killing using my work's electricity for 6 hours a night (overnight shifts for the win). I literally get paid to sleep 6 of my 8 hour shift and nobody else is there.

The issue is that when the price drops a lot of the major miners are going to quit, and transaction processing times are going to go up exponentially and therefore the usefulness goes into the toilet. Right now it is borderline for me to turn off my miners. If it was summer I would, but right now it is ok turning electricity into heat and getting a small return.
Wrong. The blocks adjust difficulty Wink every 2 weeks. I think next time we'll see a hell of a difficulty spike downards.

Thanks guys. I bet I could just bridge a connection from my laptop to the miner now that I think about it. Mining doesn't take any bandwidth. Noise isn't a big deal...I work nights.
1276  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Zen Hashlet PayCoin unofficial uncensored discussion. ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :-) on: January 14, 2015, 06:54:31 AM
Are there any ASICs for SHA256 or scrypt that can be used wireless? I think maybe buying a cheap asic to use at work with free electricity for ~6 hours a day would be ok. It shouldn't draw too much power to be noticed, it just has to be wireless. Maybe even if there is such a thing as a usb scrypt miner? I typically use a VPN at work. Suggestions? This is the most active thread. Anywhere else sucks ass to try to get questions answered.
1277  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do you think you were scammed by GAW? Tell Ars Technica on: January 14, 2015, 06:22:28 AM
I bought $80 worth of Hashlet power from GAW in November. It started out fine. I was getting decent payouts that I would expect. I would defend them on this exact forum actually. I couldn't understand why people were upset, everything was great. Then, something very bad happened. All my power was only getting me 1 satoshi a day within two weeks. It sputtered before it went to complete 1 satoshi all day every day. Needless to say, this crashed the Hashlet market and I sold all my Hashlets for $40, half of my initial investment. Sure as hell was a cheap lesson to learn to never buy cloud mining ever again.

I'm a bit late to the party, but enjoy this picture evidence of more fraud from Homero. You can talk about how Bitcoin is losing value all day. Personally I just use it as currency. I don't buy and speculate on it like stocks. There's Google stock for a reason if you want to buy and hold something. Anyways, I think I'll go shopping with BTC now at Microsoft, overstock, newegg, or the other thousands of merchants that accept Bitcoin. I think when I'm done I might buy some XPY to buy the one item that you can get with it, hotsauce. Good day.

P.S. OP could be anybody who just made an account Wink
1280  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Zen Hashlet PayCoin unofficial uncensored discussion. ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :-) on: January 14, 2015, 04:18:17 AM
Guys, check the blockchain. I just noticed 87.78% of all the coins (basically the top rich listers) HAVE NOT MOVED ONE SINGLE COIN FROM THOSE ADDRESSES. How bizarre is that? Just think of that for a second and how centralized this coin is and yet it still is succumbing to downward sell pressure and hardly gaining any price appreciation. Once you get down to the "normal" wallets you see tons of transaction activity in them. To me that seems like GAW and insider's cold wallets. GAW themselves said they use warm, hot and cold wallets and probably luke warm and room temperature wallets too.

Just start from block one and look where the coins go... They split all the way down and whenever a dispersal happens the leftover goes to a completely new address.  This premine dispersal script, in my opinion, is designed to make it difficult to see exactly how many coins were not allocated to either "primes" or hashpoint conversions.

There very well may be tens of thousands, or hundreds of thousands, of XPY spread out in small 100 coin or less balances that are being used to create pure profit through PayBase credit card purchases and/or slowly dripping into the exchanges.

This is my main concern about the long term viability of this coin. There is absolutely no accounting for all 12 million coins.
Well said. Thanks for adding to that.
