461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is still Ok to invest in Etherium on: April 23, 2018, 09:03:38 AM
The market has been so bad in general the last month or few months that it was a pretty obvious buy back when we were down at least 20% in a week. Then a short squeeze happened and it jumped +13% in 30 minutes...very crazy to see happen in real time but after that the market has held and even rallied more. So now we'll likely see a break away to an upward trend.
462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: With how much should i start on: April 23, 2018, 08:55:17 AM
You'll need to learn trading discipline before trying to make it big in trading. I'd suggest making 1% or -1% on a trade either way no matter what. If you're a good trader you'll be seeing more +1% than -1%. But the key here is to always make sure you have an exit position, a point which you will exit the trade no matter what. You won't get your emotions involved and will always have the same risk in your trades.
463  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] IOS - Signature & Avatar Campaign | Up to $150/week in BTC & Tokens! on: April 22, 2018, 02:14:37 PM
I've been receiving a lot of questions recently regarding how posts are counted. I would like to clarify that while I have post counts noted on the spreadsheet, I don't really use them when I actually review user posts at the end of the week. I go directly to your profile and look at the post history over the past week. I see how many posts you have made as well as where/what topics you are posting in. Honestly, I only added the post count field just because it has become a convention for other campaigns. I can't really imagine just going off of that without looks at the actual posts, and I hope other managers aren't doing that. Rest assured that just because the count is off/posts are deleted, as long as you have 25 qualifying posts during the current period I will see them Smiley
Wish I would have read this a day ago or so! I noticed that it was off a little bit too but the campaign does have a requirement of 12 posts in specific sections so I imagine you would need to manually check for that. I sent a pm about it before actually coming here and seeing that so my bad haha.
464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Possibility of Bitcoin's value to be zero on: April 20, 2018, 08:07:35 PM
I'd say it'd be impossible for the value to even drop below $1,000 at this point. Simply too many eyes are on it now. Even then, a trip down to that level would be extremely bumpy and unlikely. I'm not sure where the absolute rock bottom would be, but I'd bet it was somewhere above $1,000 in the very least. At some point the big funds and other investors would start throwing money in just to try and prop it up from completely ruining their lives lol.
465  Economy / Speculation / Re: Growth may be just around the corner? on: April 19, 2018, 05:56:38 PM
Already seeing huge growth across everything personally. But I think it's only the beginning, as on the Bitcoin charts we are now shifting ABOVE the moving average on all charts which could mean we're finally done with the bear market downward channels and have now broken and risen above to see some good bull activity now.
466  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [Hack] Fortnite Aimbot + ESP UPDATED 16/04/18 - $30 on: April 19, 2018, 05:45:48 PM
Virus scans don't mean anything in proving something is clean because of encryption, but anyways what kind of package is this? Aren't hacks normally detected and banned/patched fairly quickly in online games? Even if they're private, a simple update could mean it isn't working until the hack software also gets updated...why most of these things run on subscription basis and not one time sales.
467  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: cpu mining and mobile mining bitcoins ? on: April 19, 2018, 05:41:44 PM
Electroneum recently just made an app that is a fake miner, but you still get paid for having it run on your phone. I wouldn't really trust it and again it definitely isn't a real miner, so I'm not sure how the app devs can even afford just to be giving out lots of free currency. I tried it on an old phone and isolated network and it didn't even want to open Grin Grin
468  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Buy antminers with loan on: April 19, 2018, 05:39:59 PM
Hello guys, since you can make loan on buying any tech and etc things, is it possible to buy antminers officially from Bitmain with bank's loan?
I don't mean direct loan from bank, I mean loan you make when buying smartphones for example.
Also if this is possible, can we took loans online and which banks (your local) offers that? What are bank's terms? (interest %, period of loan).
Not exactly sure what you mean by smartphone loans, but banks offer personal loans all the time. You'll probably look at 7% interest on that, and maybe get a 4-5 term. All the different banks have a ton of different offers, but I think the key would be somehow securing that the equipment could be used for several years and making sure that you have an overall monthly positive amount. It'd be difficult to find that's for sure, especially for a meaningful amount in loaned money.
469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Vitalik Buterin: I agree that Bitcoin is better than gold on: April 19, 2018, 05:36:17 PM
I mean I like seeing and wearing gold. It has very nice physical properties. Not only that, all computer components require gold for the most part. So there are real physics properties that make gold valuable even if people didn't want to buy and hold it to try and reduce the risk of fiat currency and economic collapse destroying them.
470  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen if two mining company unites on: April 19, 2018, 05:34:17 PM
There's news that even big companies like Nvidia and AMD will start developing Bitcoin/ETH miners just to try and sooth the GPU problem in the market and also bite into Bitmain's billion dollar industry. If it came down to a legitimate attack contesting Bitcoin I would believe there'd be a hardfork from whatever block there was a big problem on. Sure, lots of money would be lost, Bitcoin would crash in price, but ultimately it would become more decentralized and those companies would not be able to do so again.
471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin a better payment system? on: April 19, 2018, 05:31:55 PM
The answer is that it often is not, at least for most people, most of the time. Eventually it will be the best payment system, but it needs to develop further, gain more adoption, and get over the scaling obstacles. Even so, Bitcoin is already the best payment system for certain use-cases, such as sending money across borders, or receiving money from someone you don't trust (which helps further in cross-border transactions).
Being trustless is nice, but how would I go about buying an online item if I can't trust that it won't arrive broken and that I can never get my money back? So then there will always have to be employees from whatever website to be able to handle claims and escrow reliably...which means if they go against you, you don't really have an option to go to a bank to get your money back (not that a bank is even helpful with that either).
472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin scarcity on: April 19, 2018, 05:28:40 PM
There's nothing scarce about any cryptocurrency because it can be divided into a million pieces. So 21 million multiplied by 1 million is 21 trillion. So that's not scarce, and really limited supply only matters if the entire world needs to transact at the same time. If Bitcoin is worth $1 only 21 million dollars in trades could happen at any given time considering everybody was spending and nobody holding. So that's why scarcity could matter.
473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think that Bitcoin could become a popular payment method? on: April 19, 2018, 05:24:37 PM
It's hard for me to imagine a system in which you can pay for something in Bitcoin, the item you get is broken, and so you need your money back. I've been dealing with an online item dispute for a while now and even with fiat it seems like a complete shit-show to the point where say if I had used Bitcoin to buy the item it would be nearly impossible to try and fix the situation.
474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's time on: April 19, 2018, 05:18:31 PM
I think all the charts have finally shifted to where we are now above the moving average instead of below it and constantly dropping back under it. That insane short squeeze that happened a week or so ago was pretty crazy too. 13% gain in 30 minutes and we've held strong.
475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency kills people on: April 19, 2018, 05:16:39 PM
Nothing really knew for currency, but the ease of which cryptocurrency can facilitate black market activities online is pretty remarkable. That's mostly how Bitcoin even became known in the early days was the reporting of how it was used to buy drugs and other crimes online. Obviously now it's a very small percent of the total volume.
476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin replace gold? on: April 16, 2018, 05:20:38 PM
I think this argument is very inappropriate, in my opinion, bitcoin will not be able to replace gold. why? because they are in different situations. the physical-shaped gold exists, while the non-shaped bitcoin that exists only in the virtual world. because bitcoins can be incorporated into the currency.I think this argument is very inappropriate, in my opinion, bitcoin will not be able to replace gold. why? because they are in different situations. the physical-shaped gold exists, while the non-shaped bitcoin that exists only in the virtual world. because bitcoins can be incorporated into the currency.
Um... you just said the same exact thing twice in a row. Which would make it a reasonable assumption that you copy and pasted that. Whether or not that was your actual comment or somebody else's you stole is a different point to make, but I would assume if your campaign manager had a look they would not be impressed.

The points are pretty good about the physical vs digital nature, though, if you were the person that originally said that which I highly doubt.
477  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] IOS - Signature & Avatar Campaign | Up to $150/week in BTC & Tokens! on: April 16, 2018, 02:06:57 AM
I knew to give it time over the weekend before deciding one way or another about this campaign. Like the campaign was planned with different days of the round ending...which would have been today/tomorrow the expected date of payment. Probably because the manager is busy with real life things like jobs and family Grin Grin so they set a certain time or day where they are able to thoroughly check all the members in the campaign and issue payments.

People were starting to bring out the pitchforks over nothing Grin
478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: All you home mining farms...how do you keep it cool? on: April 16, 2018, 02:01:38 AM
Chips have internal regulating that will just throttle the speeds until they reach a safe level again. Actually, the safe level is still within the range of their throttling, but they do that to prevent it going 10-20 degress higher and damage being cause to the cores or chips or whatever. If those fail and it goes too hot for a long time you'll get a bricked device.

Just put some fans real close to those puppies Grin
479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining will die in 2018! on: April 16, 2018, 01:58:48 AM
Good call on that one. Obviously coins can fork to try and protect themselves from recent developments but still that is a bad strategy and only allows for more covert asic to be done for months again, ROI many times over while nobody knows there are ASICs mining on the network.

This is why I believe CPU coins will be the future, and there must be an anti-botnet strategy to implement from hackers and bad actors accumulating too much of the supply and control.
480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XMG] MAGI | CPU mining | mPoW | mPoS | [MagiPay] on: April 16, 2018, 01:55:32 AM
To this end, Magi, aiming at fairness, cost effective and energy efficiency, strives for every single effort to make mining be available to everyone, and provides an even playing field for people looking to issue digital coins without expensive equipment.

That's the true key to cryptocurrency in my eyes. It has to be CPU viable while also limiting hackers who have botnets from accumulating large control over the supply. GPU has become something which people can't reasonably get into whether it be the upfront capital or the huge amount of electricity being used. MAGI has survived and thrived a long time. Definitely bookmarking to do further reading on this, but I think I was around when MAGI first came out  Grin
