521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: about 6000 outlets in Korea receive Cryptocurrencies on: April 03, 2018, 06:09:25 PM
South Korean culture is fascinating and I actually enjoy it a lot. There's a lot of respect in Asian countries... they're not perfect though.

I hope this is not some merchant service where they accept Bitcoin and then dump it to fiat immediately, although that is probably the first step. Have to start somewhere.
522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Open letter to CEO of kraken Jesse Powel on: April 03, 2018, 06:07:18 PM
I would say it's likely that most of their users have not had a problem, but the few who do could potentially have big problems, such as yourself. Check your country's laws, you probably could have had some sort of bank protection against a big error like this and issue a chargeback or something depending on your payment method.
523  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hourpower investment scheme on: April 03, 2018, 05:52:13 PM
35.52% a day huh... well this one will be short lived Grin

Pretty bold to try and have a short term ponzi scheme. Losing $5 doesn't sound bad, consider it like going to the casino and gambling it. Although, I would never give a penny to such a thing.
524  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW / Josh Garza discussion Paycoin XPY xpy.io ION ionomy. ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: April 03, 2018, 05:46:11 PM
I reckon Garza has cold wallets with many many BTC, and the US justice department wants them to crash the market further hence killing off crypto!

Lol I mean $12 million or whatever was officially stated a few years ago could have definitely turned into a large amount of money, but even with that much I feel like it's not enough to make a meaningful impact on the market.
525  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia turning into a scam? on: April 03, 2018, 05:42:58 PM
I have a question: Is Cryptopia made any official announcement regarding on why some users have received various login attempts on their cryptopia accounts? I need to Fix it out.
Probably just data breaches using other information stolen from other sites to see if you use the same email and password basically.

I don't use cryptopia much but getting coins on the exchange is quick and also getting the coins off was really quick... so I don'y really see what the problem is. Perhaps in the occasion that there is a problem they don't have the capacity to deal with it effectively.
526  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin rising to $14,000 beginning April on: April 03, 2018, 02:18:42 AM
I mean at least make some crappy graph in paint so that way we can all have a laugh and a good time about this statement. I wouldn't be surprised if we see $8,000 in the short term gains, and if it can break out of this channel then perhaps we'll have enough strength to go that far...
527  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump bans Venezuelan cryptocurrency in USA on: April 03, 2018, 02:15:01 AM
Venezuela is in a really bad state right now. People there earn more money farming gold in games and selling it than they do at real jobs. Of course if Venezuela is making a new currency all the current places that have sanctions will put those sanctions on that new currency... but if it's crypto will they really be able to prevent it? I don't think so, so it's interesting that this is the first government issued crypto. Too bad it's a complete shit government  Grin
528  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why bitcoin is still dropping ? on: April 03, 2018, 02:11:13 AM
We're all getting hit pretty hard with the bear market after the insane bull run we had. Extreme amounts of press, like I couldn't get away from Bitcoin articles if I even wanted to. Probably a lot of people joined in the hype beast and had weak hands. Plus let's be real the meteoric rise was pretty unsustainable. Natural retracement and it's trading in a channel right now.
529  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTB] Bitmain coupons on: April 03, 2018, 01:59:24 AM
I was wondering about the limit on coupons myself. That's pretty cool you can use one coupon per one miner. I wonder if the hashrate has gone up proportionally to the ability to get such massive dollar amounts knocked off of orders Cheesy

Because if somebody was planning on spending $10,000 for 10 miners, but can buy 15 or 20 for the same price... seems like some sort of inflation of hashrate lol
530  Economy / Speculation / Re: I think we have to see 35000 usd in 2018 according to this table on: April 03, 2018, 01:55:04 AM
Correct me if I'm wrong, but all you're doing is looking back to the previous year's gains and associating that with what this year's gains may be...

That's clearly a very bad way of doing speculation. At least throw in a parabolic chart or something Grin
531  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Does signature campaign really help to promote an ICO ? on: April 03, 2018, 01:21:58 AM
For ICO's, probably not. I'm not interested in any ICO coin I see because I come from the wayback days where literally every ICO was a scam or complete failure. I'm sure there are people who only buy into ICO and not existing projects...

This forum is an extremely targeted way to advertise, and that comes at a pretty big cost. Whether or not it is worth it depends on the project being advertised. People will see a banner and probably check it out, I know I do. Because if a project/community is investing in itself it usually means there can be some potential there and researching it only takes a few seconds to find their ann thread and read it for a minute. Check exchanges it is on etc.
532  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cigarettes Online on: April 03, 2018, 01:17:18 AM
Damn, all cigarettes on cigsspot.com are $10 more expensive than they are here. Websites like these are only good for someone where cigarettes are $10 per pack.

cigspot.us is even more expensive. $50 per carton of marllboro? At my local store, that same carton of 10 packs would be the price of a pack that's $3,2x10 and that would be $32 for a carton of the same cigarette. :/
Guess that's the business model. Also, I would question whether or not they are paying taxes on the items they sell. Taxes on alcohol and cigarettes are no joke, people try to smuggle them into other countries to avoid paying the tax and tariff on them. It's pretty big business and I've seen a few boarder control documentaries about it. Maybe that's the kind of service these people are trying to provide.
533  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What do you guys think of ice rock mining on: April 02, 2018, 07:18:39 PM
Even as bad of a scam like this could survive many months if they're going negative. Basically they would just be paying you back your own money over time to make them seem legit to be able to scam more people and then ultimately run off with all the Bitcoin.
534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: 💥[BOUNTY] Phore Blockchain. Decentralized Marketplace & Ecosystem. 50 SLOTS!💥 on: April 02, 2018, 12:36:09 AM
Yep got the payment thank you very much. Tough time for all coins right now but this one has held its ratio to BTC well. Judging by the last 24 hours I' say we're close to the bottom of this latest bear run down, but I guess we'll have to see.
535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining , still worth it? on: March 29, 2018, 11:48:32 PM
I think most will try and sell on eBay or Craigslist.

Basically getting $400 for your GPU is better than mining for 40 cents a day.

They will most likely keep mining until they find a buyer.
It is all very bad right now that's for sure. Whether people sell their equipment is if they can continue to run in the red for a long time to try and get past this. Maybe there is no getting past it. There's blood in the streets.
536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PHR] PHORE BLOCKCHAIN - Private Decentralized Marketplace & Ecosystem. POS/MN. on: March 29, 2018, 11:10:41 AM
This coin is holing up remarkably well considering the entire market is red for weeks and there's blood in the streets. The development plan looks nice and I'm glad I could help by getting in the signature campaign. Didn't know about this until I was browsing the forum one day. Very good in my opinion and I think the market agrees.
537  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfinex locked my 500 BTC account and is asking for police report on: March 28, 2018, 07:42:46 PM
[sic]
Why anyone would want to store so much outside a wallet they don't control I wouldn't know....
Even if it really was 3 years ago, that's still enough to not have it in the hands of somebody else. Pretty unbelievable story, and I'm sure Bitfinex isn't buying it either. Also, they mentioned a VPN, so already they suspect it is not the original account owner.
538  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfinex locked my 500 BTC account and is asking for police report on: March 28, 2018, 03:00:15 PM
The thing is, the friends you say you got the money from will have to have sources for where they got their money, too. If you say something vague like that it will need to go further into investigation, so there's no point unless you get their tax records to prove they actually could be assumed to be able to give you money like that. So you'll likely need to draw a contract with them saying that you'll pay them a certain amount once you receive your funds back because that's an awful lot of trouble for them to go through for you as well. Signed notary for them as well and all that stuff previously mentioned by another member.

Just play it by the book and you could end up very wealthy if those coins aren't sourced to any illegal activities. If they are, simply trying to claim them will land you into a big deal of trouble. I don't think you realize how far agencies will go to deny terrorist money laundering. Not saying that's what you are doing or did, but that is probably along the line they're thinking.
539  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfinex locked my 500 BTC account and is asking for police report on: March 28, 2018, 06:34:58 AM
Sounds like you're actually under investigation of some sort. Could be federal... be very careful with how you proceed. Obviously a transaction of that amount would need to be properly verified. If everything was ok you should be able to comply no problems. The fact that you can't give records on where you obtained 3 million dollars is alarming. You say you borrowed money for the bitcoins in 2015... wasn't that at least 100k for 500 btc back then? This is sus.
540  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: The lagest Bitcoin mixer is about to stop working on: March 28, 2018, 04:26:12 AM
Honestly it was really smart to get out of the way before the laws and countries inevitably count this type of activity as money laundering. They hunt down dark markets like crazy these days, and it will only get worse. Doesn't mean you can't be safe, but it means you'll have to be more careful like Bitmixer getting out in front of it before it really is a bad problem.
