Also I've enabled it for a test and on Firefox (I don't have Opera) I cannot reproduce your problem.

Now I do not have the issue too, but I see the latest post has changed. I think I will disable that plugin, now I have found another page where it blocks the desired content -- I checked the source of the page and I completely see not reason for that.

But it was weird to see the blank gap in the middle of forum main page.
1262  Other / Meta / Problem with plugin uBlock Origin on: March 18, 2022, 09:46:05 AM
Hello

Using Opera I have started (yesterday?) having strange error/behavior - some parts of webpage has been "missing". I was able to find the cause going to private mode (without plugins). It appeared that plugin "uBlock Origin" is protecting so much that hides content which should not be hidden.
The result:
normal (with plugin):

without plugin:

Anyone had a similar issue before?

I never really understood the logic of hoarding spins. I have talked about this before I believe but forgot where and when I talked about it. I believe that if you have daily 10 spins, there is no difference between doing 10 per day, and doing 100 every 10 days, or doing 1000 every 100 days. I mean it is the same thing, the results should be same as well. All you get is results all together, instead of per day and that is literally the only difference.

I know that instead of getting 50 satoshi, it is better to see it 500 satoshi all together, but 50 satoshi per day for 10 days would have been the same. This logic applies to same spin hoarding as well. But if you like it, then power to you.

I think it is similar to well known problem of investing in stocks, like described here:
Investing All At Once, or Lump-Sum Investing
https://news.morningstar.com/classroom2/course.asp?docId=2873&page=3

It would mean that you should consume your WOFs as soon as you get them...
Some time ago I have decided to keep my free premium WOFs for the last day of month and then spin them all, just for fun.

My locks will be released tomorrow and on Saturday - I plan to lock them for 15 more days, then wait for end of month (I hope to earn something from BTC bets), launch WOFs, buy more FUN and then lock for 180 days.

Incredible. Russel 5th, (12.00). The guy who was "always the last" over the years now has the chance to (regularly) fight for the podium. It was enough to change the car...
1265  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: March 17, 2022, 03:40:34 PM

At one point a few weeks ago the prizes were at 50/5000, but I missed it! Since then it drops to 40, goes to 45, and back, it's moving in that range for weeks! If it gets to 50 I will spin them all at once, if that doesn’t happen Lambo is in 33 days, so I’ll probably spin them all day or two before that!

Oh, I did not think about it. You are right, what we get are 'rights' to spin, not spin awards itself. In other words it makes sense to collect spins and launch them when potential reward is higher. Now price of BTC is over 40k and it makes the base reward 42RP/sat. Which means that OR I will wait for higher price, what should make FUN price lower (to let's say 23-25sat) and then buy, OR I will wait for a lower BTC price, what makes WIF rewards higher. Some people say we will have a bigger change soon, so maybe it is worth to wait.

Why when I reload the page on wof premium lose my turn?

In which situation, with or without captcha?
As it was told before, if you are authenticated and captcha is nor required, WOF spin is just an animation to show the result, the real "decision" has been already made and you may check it in MULTIPLY BTC/ROLL HISTORY table. That's why after page refresh you see information that WOF expired.
If first you must pass captcha validation, then roll is executed when you press the button.
1267  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: I need help on How to easily Generate Public key from private key. on: March 17, 2022, 07:45:08 AM
my question is, is there any alternative mathematical method of generating public keys from private keys apart from Elliptic curve secp256k1?

You ask two questions, you should be more precise. It is like asking "Is there any other way to travel than by car fiat 500"?
1) Do you want to generate keys for other Elliptic curve? Secp256k1 is just a specific curve, it is like saying that fiat 500 is just a one model of car. You may have different curves (defined by different initial parameters), BUT if you talk about bitcoin, you must use the specific one - Secp256k1
2) Do you want to generate keys not using Elliptic curve? You may travel by train of plane, it is not necessary to use car. For example you may read what is used in case of RSA (hint: prime numbers).

just did ctrl+f about galois on this page. 0 results ofc.

Does it change anything?

1268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Polish League - Ekstraklasa Prediction & Discussion Thread ⚽ on: March 16, 2022, 01:25:00 PM
legia warszawa could celebrate a very important 4-1 home win against termalica yesterday and can now move even further away from the relegation places and is now with 31 points on the 11th place in the table - the gap to the relegation places is now 7 points and if legia does not get into a negative flow again, they will have nothing to do with the relegation.

What I find strange and unusual is that we get excited when Champion beats the last team in the table. But OK, it was a strange time for Legia. Something you call "negative flow" should never happen.
On Saturday we have the game against Rakow, so we will see who deserves to be a leader.
Personally I still hope Gornik Leczna will stay for the next season. Next game - in Gdansk - will not be easy.
1269  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / A few words about minikeys on: March 16, 2022, 01:06:51 PM
I must admit that until recently I was not aware of existence of mini-private-key format... I have found information about it accidentally and I decided to play a little with it.
So, just to recall some information:
The size of 'physical' items forced creators to find a way how to encode information about Bitcoin private key on a small area. Typical WIF, which has more than 50 characters would be too long. So, the new format has been created. Initially minikeys had 22 characters, later 30 characters. What is similar to WIF is that minikeys are build based on Base58 characters - that format excludes characters which looks similar to other, what could be problematic for user. That way, for example, characters like 'l' (lowercase L) or 0 (zero) and O (uppercase o) are excluded. Later, creators decided to exclude "1", so in fact the new format "base57" is used. And just a detail - minikeys starts with a letter "S".
The main difference between WIF and minikeys is that WIF encodes the exact private key, while minikey is in fact more like "brainwallet" phrase - the ways to restore private key is completely different. In case of WIF all we need is "base58 decoding" to retrieve information about private key (and additionally information if we had correct WIF, so decoded private key is really the one we look for). In case if minikey we must calculate hash of a key, just like we do with brainwallets.
What is also interesting, is that minikeys also has some kind of verification if input (the text found on physical item) is correct. Verification is based on fact, that not each combination of characters could be treated as a valid minikey - only when "extended" minikey produces hash which starts with "00" in hex.
All hashes on minikeys are sha256.
Let's take an example (we will work on short keys, 22 characters):
ScatCATcatCATcatCATcat
We must verify if key is correct, to get this information we calculate hash of key "extended" by appending character "?" (question mark).
Code:
sha256(ScatCATcatCATcatCATcat?) = 2dbe5cf8ac83725536cbb3d74a89dec34dd5c57af867431745449119f49788ec
Because hash starts with "2d", "ScatCATcatCATcatCATcat" cannot be used as a valid minikey;

SkK5VPtmTm3mQKYaJQFRZP
Code:
sha256(SkK5VPtmTm3mQKYaJQFRZP?) = 00442b142a40eefcd894b0bb6f19c58284f2e7248cee7e4910cd37afbfc7879a
Now we see that SkK5VPtmTm3mQKYaJQFRZP is a "correct" minikey. Then we may calculate hash to retrieve the real private key:
Code:
sha256(SkK5VPtmTm3mQKYaJQFRZP) = f30c1ddd12ea91bd35d5d1b83eac611717d99da826f207c3c3d4839e271648cb

That key gives uncompressed public key
04bf2d4231ca9ec2a49664f5b821bd44ad6cb38c6393936f1e3a6a8f4e0ee81686666e952387a4d d63a2ac7fb8c63737a9c4be142a186c1496d7013569c028143c
which produces hash160 fc258e14e4d1705f4c5a1f77e9a693531de82553
which could be converted into address 1PzEGi7a6UEGCAXtGjZj8kBX2VEHcLMrqd.

Now, let's ask how safe it is. I will focus on famous Cascascius coins - the list of coins (produced and already 'opened') is available online: https://casascius.uberbills.com/ and https://casasciustracker.com/
From serie 1, which was based on short keys (22 characters) and full base58, there are slightly less than 5000 coins still unopened.
I was aware of only one tool to brute-force minikeys and try to attack them knowing public addresses of coins - it was Keyhunt by @albert0bsd (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5322040.0)
Just for fun and programming exercise I decided to prepare a small tool for "attacking" Cascascius, but using GPU. Working, but probably not extremely optimized program is available here: https://github.com/PawelGorny/MinikeyCuda
Program may work in two modes - random or sequential.
Sequential processing is very similar to typical WIF solving, where we change character by character and test the result. Initially we test if minikey is eglible for processing (if hash of key+? produces 00), then we hash again to generate the private key. Then we verify if private key produces address we look for. Statistically every 1/256 minikey is "correct" and produced private should be tested.
On my dev card rtx3060 I have performance of about 8mln keys/s, which gives around 30k/s 'valid' keys,
Random mode works quite differently - using GPU we produce bunch of 'valid' keys and then we check all of them. That way we may check much more keys, but we are not able to verify if we do not have duplicates. The corresponding performance is about 600-750k/s.
But what is the possibility of successful attack? Let's calculate:
For short keys, we have 58^21 possibilities = 1,076435e+37. As statistically 1/256 keys are valid, we must test 4,204824e+34 keys.
If we are able to test 500k/s and we are sure we will not have duplicated work, we need:
1 401 608 248 902 228 061 589 725 886 minutes, which gives 2 666 682 360 925 091 441 380 years (if I am not mistaken) to test all the keys.
Calculations for longer keys (30 characters) are left to the reader.
In other words - if you are in the possession of one of coins, I think you may sleep safe.

But if (I have no idea if situation like that may occur) you have lost part of your key, 6-7 characters, maybe more - it would be possible to recover it.

;-) Your point.
The same applies to the privacy policy and the washing machine manual.

For operations on local blocks I have used that parser: https://github.com/gcarq/rusty-blockparser
Configuration was really easy, processing of course takes some time.
Memory usage to get balances: ~18GB. That would take big VPS.

Ops. I did not use it, only transactions dump. It is up to you if you want to use it, even partially.

Yesterday I was looking for some hosting services for BTC and honestly speaking I haven't found anything I would trust. Once I tried one hosting just to compare with my main one, but service and reliability was terrible. I had impression all that companies which offer servers for BTC are running their "datacenters" somewhere in the garage.

Russian section must locked.

It is not a "Russian section". It is a section in Russian language.
Dude, you cannot ban people based on speaking in a particular language.
AFAIK we do not have KYC here, no-one checks which passport you have.
1272  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BACK ONLINE] Bitcoin block data (665 GB): inputs, outputs and transactions on: March 16, 2022, 10:57:28 AM

You could run Bitcoin Core and processing script on local device, then upload the result to your VPS/seedbox.
Apart from the fact that I wouldn't know how to do this, I don't really want to add more load to my local PC.

Wait, I am lost. How do you currently extract the data you publish?

So the ballsy Russian news lady that protested Putin would be a villain according to the op.

https://www.updatednews.com/world/europe/42259

I saw that yesterday. And the lady was lucky because she was only fined but all Russians who protest the war can face up to 15 years in jail. Just for publicly demonstrating against the war.

Some Ukrainians suspect it was a Russian provocation, here member of the Parliament of Ukraine:
https://twitter.com/grishchukroma/status/1503500141159985157?cxt=HHwWisC5mbPawN0pAAAA

We see Russian propaganda and Ukrainian propaganda, the difference is that you choose one reality or another.
The worst we can do is an another witch-hunt. Collective responsibility, you know.

I understand that some people would like to "do something" and help in that terrible situation, but I am not really sure if banning random forum members is a solution. I do not know Russian and I do not know what is happening there, but I guess if there are any pro-war posts it is responsibility of their mods to fix that.

I have an idea for a new feature: market where you may buy and sell referrals for FUN tokens…

I saw that implemented somewhere else once. It was heavily abused by people farming good looking accounts and then abandoning them as soon as they sold them.

Seriously?, Wow, I was only joking as I am a bit jealous for people with thousands of referrals. But you say people did it... I am impressed.
If "farming" means that user "plays" as a his referrals (changing IP/browser etc), it is a violation on the other level.

It would require extra rules, like you may sell max 30% of your referrals, referrals are selected randomly or by wagering... hm, yes, probably it makes that solution too complicated. Or, at the end, it is not a site's problem - they just give a tool, no-one is forced to use it.

(f*ck vi Tongue "<esc> :wq!" wtf)
What's wrong with vi? I literally use it every day Cheesy

Is that true that if you tell average user to leave vi, you will get a natural RNG or at least a good example of password (compliant with any strong password policy)?

en easier if you are I guess most of are won with wagering or with a lot of active referrals!

There is also an option that you may have several Electrum wallets for the same seed, but with different derivation path. That way, even using hardware wallet and Electrum as a client, you may need to create a separate wallets for 1.., 3… and bc1… addresses (of course if you use them).

Anyone who hasnt won previously is an outsider and probably deserves higher odds.

So, Jessica Chastain is my bet.
By the way - I hope this year, in a few months, we will have a chance to bet on Nobel Prize winners ;-)

I always say that best movie should always include the movie that was watched the most that year, like Spiderman became the most watched this year right? Then it should be AT LEAST nominated. Is this cinema awards? Was that the most watched movie? Then why don't we see it? All in all watching movies will make it harder. Wagering on what the oddmakers are saying, like belfast was "great" and all would be even easier option, same goes for most beauty contests as well.

Yes, it could be included, but why? If movie is good, it is pre-selected anyway. But imagine, Academy awards and you have a choice: Spiderman, Superman, Batman, X-Men and Mackbeth. It would be weird, no?
I think idea was to award movies which gives something more than just an entertainment. Some kind of reflection, a different view of emotions, complicated aspects of life. Where the characters are not flat, good/bad, you know - life is not black & white.
OR movie which starts a new era, makes a new use well-known concepts or technology.
I do not want to say that each popular movie is bad, I only think that we should see what is really valuable. That's why there is jury (actors, directors etc) which decides, not accountants.

8 days left on monthly price bet, Im not drawn to any viable outcome especially.  I think we have a bias up due to a trend underlying prices but I dont estimate past 48k this month, too much work to do first.   So thats quite boring then, all thats left is disaster outcomes so the full range would be down to 20k.   Not likely but thats my punt I guess

I will wait for the last moment. Who knows what will happen in one week. Maybe war will progress, maybe they announce peace. I think sanctions on banks and "Russians buying crypto" did not make any bigger difference. At the and for a longer period of time we are around 40k, maybe stabilization is what we need more than exciting bets.
Or in the future then will make narrower options, like 1k.
1280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: BTCrecover seed recovery with custom token list on: March 15, 2022, 08:00:35 AM
Yes, I found the same information when googling, like you wrote, Metamask derivation path is m’/44’/60’/0/0, and Ledger is m’/44’/60’. They are quite similar, but the last zeroes are missing, but maybe that's not important.

It is. For example:
Code:
walk gate various upon patient only athlete focus tiny decade advice party
produces:
BIP44 - m/44'/60'/0'/0/0 - 0x71d2b3e574B13C99dC725467b31F296b5C3c6Fe4
BIP32/Ledger - m/44'/60'/0'/0 - 0x25Cd4b8eB16e5d926Ec19675c364bCe7e1E90f8f

I think you did not use hardened addresses, but there is still a chance.

m/44'/60'/0'/0/0' - 0xB4d14680ddfC11944250e3aD59268B44ba49A08c
m/44'/60'/0'/0' - 0x9EB955c03A8FF3032262D58548F0B44e5a77D1Ba

Are you able to reuse the seed and see which address you see?
