http://www.newsbtc.com/2017/04/22/roger-ver-claims-bitcoin-unlimited-production-ready-stage/

Those are the kind of idiots willing to compete against Core. A bunch of amateur developers that can't get their shit straight, and technologically incompetent idiots shilling it. I hope nobody is still delusional enough to support those clowns.

1262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Shocking: Small amount of chinese miners block 88% of segwit support by services on: April 23, 2017, 05:42:14 PM
https://coin.dance/poli

As of today, 88% wants segwit. EC (BUcoin) has a bigger rejection rate than UASF, which is revealing. As we have seen with LTC, the price rises along with the segwit hashrate (and we'll see an ATH due BTC's inability to get to enjoy segwit, thus blocking LN development efforts, since segwit provides for full capacity LN and other features needed for proper payment channel functionality).

A small amount of miners (how many really? Jihan Wu? and a couple other pools, no more than 5 guys) are blocking hundreds of people involved in BTC services, exchanges and so on.

They also go against node majority.

Segwit is officially held hostage by a tiny amount of miners with a hashrate monopoly, probably state-sponsored. Meanwhile, LTC will eat BTC's lunch as segwit activates.

Conor McGregor showing some moves, what do you think? I can't extract any information from this, we'll see how he looks like against him in the ring. He looks sharp but that's nothing. The boxing sparring i've seen of McGregor thus far is rather disappointing. I can't wait for this fight to happen, biggest show ever.
1264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: PoSW may be the rare opportunity to get rich by entering early on a coin on: April 23, 2017, 12:15:44 PM
There was a correction from 19k to 16k, nothing fancy, but a good opportunity to buy the dip or enter the market if you haven't already. Soon those prices will be a thing of the past, just like 6k a week ago. This coin is headed to $1+ once people catch up with it, don't miss out.
1265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jihan blocks segwit on LTC: price crashes on: April 22, 2017, 04:07:49 PM
Did you guys check the news? Jihan is now supporting segwit, the signaling is going on as we speak, or they signaling 1 block at least, I suspect they are setting things up and will start signaling it continuously until it locks in, price could surge a lot. Bought a bit myself, don't want to miss that.

Cobble has done a fantastic diplomatic job getting everyone on the table and reaching an agreement. Unfortunately, this seems unlikely with Bitcoin (or maybe fortunately, since I wouldn't like other than segwit activated without no other compromises)

What's clear to me is, LTC will benefit greatly price wise!
1266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / PoSW may be the rare opportunity to get rich by entering early on a coin on: April 22, 2017, 03:48:37 PM
I have been looking at PoSW and I find it is extremely undervalued. It's around $0.15, with a smaller supply than PIVX, and use cases that actually cater for real life users and not some weird, geeky stuff that no one cares about. The multi staking, faucets, exchange, all in one, make it an attractive place to get started for noobs. A lot of coins are showing interest to get listed there. No other place will give you the ability to multi-stake thousands of coins at the same time for cheap fees.
I consider it to be more valuable than PIVX, which has a terrible coin distribution, allegedly the worst coin distribution ever.

I believe PoSW will hit $1, conservatively.
1267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin SegWit will be activated in TBD on: April 22, 2017, 12:22:22 PM
Braindead kiklo and franky1 continue negating reality, meanwhile altcoins that are about to get segwit instapump everytime positive news about segwit arise. LTC will reach an ATH if segwit is activated because it's the only viable way to get all the efforts developed in LN within a real coin, because BTC will not get segwit anytime soon (if ever)
1268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any place to gamble IF the Mayweather vs McGregor fight will happen? on: April 21, 2017, 02:03:41 PM
This huge thread on if that fight will actually happen just seems funny to me.

You are insane. This is a gambling forum and this fight will be the biggest price purse of all time. There will never be a fight this big with this much money. Billions of dollars will be on the betting casinos, it will the be all end all of bets. I predict all odds on Mayweather, so if McGregor wins people betting wins for McGregor will get rich.
I think 8:1 odds will be it.
1269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Poloniex Will Delist 17 Altcoins In One Day on: April 20, 2017, 10:53:29 PM
You should have expected that, you have to keep track of every coin you are invested in or else you'll get burned in a ridiculous flash crash. Look at the disaster that it delivered on every single coin, big red candle.

They are probably making room for new coins. Im looking at PoSW, PIVX and a couple other promising projects that are really cheap at the moment.
1270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ideal tournament ideas on: April 20, 2017, 05:00:01 PM
Hi guys!
My today's question has two side and here it comes: What would be an ideal online casino gambling tournament for you? Do you have any special desires or thoughts you would like to share? Let us and others know and let's have a nice discussion.
And those two sides I mentioned: firstly, as a gambler I would like to personally know if you think the same as I do and it's my personal interest. Secondly, not only Oshi, but probably others casinos too, are having and preparing various tournaments and this discussion could be a great place to take the inspiration from - I mean - we all wanna enjoy gambling and make the most money and the users feedback is important to set everything in the best way.
Cheers!

PS: I would personally like some kind of themed tournament, maybe some combination with "non-money" prizes etc., maybe even lottery or something like that. What do you think?

I would like to see high stakes texas hold em properly implemented in crypto with serious professional poker rules, and try to attract all the millions of skilled poker players into the bitcoin game.

But above all things, I still would love to see something like this properly developed:

www.battlecoin.org

I wish this was still being developed, it just needed tweaking to make the lag better, more options, more capacity, advertisement, and boom... there you have it, a massive amount of people playing a cool game for BTC that is not the usual casino stuff.
1271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to verify if a project is genuine for a non technical user? on: April 20, 2017, 02:52:31 PM
Think about it in an holistic way. "What does this coin or project offer that's new and actually useful?" Sometimes, some coins release fancy whitepapers and a lot of technical jargon that ultimately is not used at all by real people. For example, I believe poswallet is a simple idea that doesn't reinvent the wheel, BUT it brings an incredibly useful service into the ecosystem: staking several coins at the same time, something impossible to achieve by yourself.

I believe it is a really undervalued project at the moment.
1272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any place to gamble IF the Mayweather vs McGregor fight will happen? on: April 20, 2017, 02:37:37 PM
Big news!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvvY8tFx18U

According to this latest interview with Dana White, it's clear that the fight is happening with 99% chances. Conor McGregor will get $75,000,000, Mayweather will get $100,000,000+.

The negotiation of how the fight will be are still up, but im sure it will be a full federated boxing match. I dont believe some weird changes like size of ring and type of gloves customization will not be tolerated by the Mayweather side, but Conor wants the money and will take anything.
1273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [POSW] POSW COIN | Earn Monthly Dividends in Profit-Driven Growth Coin on: April 20, 2017, 02:01:26 PM
This coin will do great in the future, I just hope we get to know more about the devs, if they put their real life reputation at stake, investors will trust this coin a lot more, specially those that are willing to invest a lot. I believe once doubts are cleared, the price will go parabolic.

I also hope the website keeps getting updated and the user experience improved. I will be keeping an eye on this one.

LAST 1000 BLOCKS :

Bitcoin Unlimited blocks: 373  ( 37.3% )
Bitcoin Classic blocks: 2  ( 0.2% )
SegWit blocks: 275  ( 27.5% )

Conclusion: The majority of miners support bigger blocks

https://vote.bitcoin.com/arguments/block-size-limit-should-be-increased-to-8-mb-as-soon-as-possible

Conclusion: The majority of bitcoin holders supports bigger blocks

Core needs to either increase the block size, or miners (acting in their own economic interest) will start using an alternative client, and they'll become irrelevant. Its really that simple
Not at all.  Your argument is that the majority of miners support bigger blocks, but a better phrase would be that a majority of the mining hashrate supports bigger blocks.  The mining hashrate is represented by a small group of pools, and since miners typically gravitate towards their own interests they will go to whichever pool they prefer rather than, necessarily, to the one which supports a specific scaling solution as many don't care.

In fact, SegWit currently has a marginal lead over BU due to F2Pool beginning to signal for it.  What matters is how much hashrate is favouring each side, not how many blocks have been mined for each (as the number of blocks is subject to variation so you have to measure it over a longer timespan) and with the addition of F2Pool, the hashrate currently is supporting SegWit by a small margin.

The miners don't even represent the community either.  No one can reasonably claim that the miners' interests are always that of the community and a reason for supporting a cause should never be "other people support it so I do too".  It should be because the system holds weight as an idea and in code.

The so called hashrate support has become an useful tool for miners to short the market at do some massive inside trading gains. They use twitter to spread their agenda and rumors. This puts fears into investors minds, which make those miners richer every time. I don't believe for a second that Wang Chun will keep his segwit support in either BTC or LTC. He can change at any second, look at the guy's history.
Jihan keeps doing the same on LTC too.

They are obviously exploiting their power to make money by manipulating the market.
1275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [POSW] POSW COIN | Earn Monthly Dividends in Profit-Driven Growth Coin on: April 19, 2017, 05:31:18 PM

That's good, but you should make yourselves public if you want the investors to feel better about the whole thing. If you want people to trust a centralized site with their money, make yourselves public.

It's easy to make an offshores company with fake names and so on, you need some hard proof.

The idea is great, but the real game changer would be to make the whole staking infrastructure decentralized. Then I would invest a big chunk of BTC.

Some members of our team are already public with their names and photos. Some others prefer the anonymity at this early stage. I don't think you know founders and all team members of other exchanges like Poloniex, Bittrex, Livecoin etc. You trust them because they work. And there is no exchange who has their founder's and team member's photos and names on website. Our Company's/Exchange's details will be available soon and you can make your research.

Indeed, which is why I never leave any coins on exchanges, because I trust no one. Also, I don't hold a "Poloniex token" which its value depends on the poloniex site not getting "hacked".

I want to ask: what is the coin release rate? There are 41m coins right now, total supply is 70m (or 250m, I still don't understand why coinmarketcap.com says 70m but here it says 250m)

Anyway, I want to know the release rate of the coin. Someone do this graph for this coin please:

Also, what happens when the final total supply of coins is reached? is there a % of inflation that makes the supply bigger forever in order to pay stakers? This data should be explained clearly on the site and on this thread including the graph.
1276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why isn't the Lightning Network being implemented in the Bitcoin protocol? on: April 19, 2017, 02:59:29 PM
Quote
Second-tier networks such as Lightning Network (which relies on SegWit) cannot be considered as a block scaling solution. LN transactions are NOT equal to Bitcoin’s peer-to-peer on-chain transactions and most Bitcoin use scenarios are not applicable with Lightning Network. LN will also lead to big payment “centers”, and this is against Bitcoin’s initial design as a peer-to-peer payment system. It can be a good method though for frequent and small Bitcoin transactions in certain cases. But we cannot rely on it as a cure for Bitcoin scaling.

source: https://medium.com/@ViaBTC/why-we-dont-support-segwit-91d44475cc18

"ViaBTC" aren't competent enough to have a solid opinion on the lightning network. They are just miners, they don't have the brains and experience on the field.

Let's look at a reputable expert opinion with decades of experience on this very particular field:

http://bitcoinist.com/nick-szabo-bitcoin-censorship-resistance/

Now, do you trust ViaBTC and franky1, or Nick Szabo? Choose wisely.

PS: No, normal people outsource this stuff to expert and don't pretend to "read code" and figure it out themselves. All experts agree on segwit being the best solution, there's no conspiracy theory, don't be a child.
1277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [POSW] POSW COIN | Earn Monthly Dividends in Profit-Driven Growth Coin on: April 19, 2017, 02:29:10 PM
So why does this ANN say the max supply is 250 mil and coinmarketcap says the max supply is 70 mil?

max supply was changed. This ann is not anymore modified by dev, this is a place free to talk about POSW, but if you want to real-time info then the best place is Slack. In this topic, you can get info from other users, not by devs.

Sounds shady

How could that possibly be viewed as shady?

The less coins the better!

So why not make it 1 coin then? duh.

Changing the total supply of coins after the coin is launched is not seen as a cool thing. Do we know for a fact all those extra coins have been burned? how do we know the devs aren't holding them?

Also, can somebody explain what this means:

Quote
All coins were pre-mined to control the coin supply and maintain price stability reflective of https://poswallet.com revenue and dividend growth.

How can the price freely go up and down if the coin supply is controlled? I don't understand this.

Also, what guarantees the developers will not run with people's altcoins? Why would you trust putting your coins in a centralized website for staking? I like the idea, but if we depend once again in a centralized website, it is a recipe for disaster. They are all anonymous developers, so they can run with people's money at any time claiming they got hacked or whatnot, so beware.

Again, great idea will probably keep pumping, but it's high risk to trust centralized services. They will leave when the time is right, collapsing the PoSW token price.

This coin is not depending on dividends, dividend I just a good bonus, Website future services support coin price, like and also store, where you can buy things with POSWs. And Master nodes and master node pools will support price, so In basic design, it is like every other coin. And that is yours to choose if you hold your coins on the website or on your local wallet. Poswallet has been offering online staking service almost 2 years, so what reason it would they take off now.

Every coin has its own risks, and soon there will be released Company details, maybe you can get some peace, I understand your concerns, I asked those questions 2 months ago, mostly cause it is rational to ask them and a lot of people will ask them, but if you spend your time in slack and talk with devs every day, then you can find peace. This project hasn't appeared on thin air, this has been built up for a long time, and soon there will be ready full roadmap, the draft is already available.

I still don't understand what "All coins were pre-mined to control the coin supply and maintain price stability reflective of https://poswallet.com revenue and dividend growth."

I like this project, I like the idea, but I don't like having to trust some random guys into hoping they will not run with people's altcoins. If the project grows a lot, it may be too tempting for the admins to not run away with everyone's altcoins (you need to keep them there to stake, and this is the main point of this project, this is what gives value to the PoSW token). If this fails, the PoSW token fails, so they would be shooting themselves in their own feet if they steal everyone's alts, but like I said before, they may see an incentive in doing so if a number of altcoins being held there to stake is immense in the future if the service gets used a lot.
I have been in the crypto game for years, and I know human nature. I have seen MtGox, Cryptsy, Mintpal, Bitfinex... this is no different. And the fact that they are not putting their reputation on the line by staying anonymous, is even more concerning. Just being a realist here.

Yea I see your point. It is a very valid concern. They would be shooting themselves in the foot as you say. Also, they would be abandoning one of the best ideas to come along in a good while too.Someone with a great amount of trust would pick it up most likely and run with it.I know there are people out there kicking themselves that they didn't think of this first.I know I am  Tongue I really want to see this succeed and get bigger There are some really good coins up for a vote on there and I would like to see every one of those coins get added. The Faucets are just icing on the cake.Great for a beginner to get started with.To me the Posw coin is kinda secondary to the idea.

i feel the same it is hard in the crypto world to trust any site.. yes running they may get a few million but over long run they can make far more then that... would be better if poswallet was somehow a licensed place and i think to run an exchange they will have to be or could face the feds... i could be wrong..

Of course we have Exchange License and we are going to publish Company's details in our website soon.

That's good, but you should make yourselves public if you want the investors to feel better about the whole thing. If you want people to trust a centralized site with their money, make yourselves public.

It's easy to make an offshores company with fake names and so on, you need some hard proof.

It's clear that we are making progress but still not close at all, according to this latest interview of Dana White (UFC CEO). So I would say don't expect anything for 2017, but 2018 would be the year, because if it gets delayed beyond there, it will be too late.
