1261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BlackRock Bitcoin ETF to Partners with Coinbase on: June 16, 2023, 04:34:30 AM
I think people should be cautiously optimistic as all the past hype we had with ETF filings ended up being a nothing burger. Though on the bright side, we're talking about BlockRock here which is a huge ass company. They most definitely have the resources to hopefully get this approved.
1262  Local / Pilipinas / Re: T-Shirt Business For Bitcoin Adoption Profitable Ba on: June 15, 2023, 03:41:38 PM

And yea, kung kaya niyo, pwede rin kayo mag print-on-demand and stuff.
1263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Resounding Assurance of Bitcoin's Dominance. on: June 15, 2023, 03:24:56 PM
It's true that Binance is one of the biggest exchanges, it is also not the only exchange facing the back fire from the SEC regulators as kraken is lined up too. My point of view is from an angle that subjects the customers/users patience and trust to constant test.
What happened to FTX more than helped in reducing the influx of new users to the crypto world, with Binance, kraken in the news, prospective new users may be faced with a double mindset and may even give up the thoughts of investing in crypto.

Always remember that the world doesn't only contain the United States. Even if the United States totally 100% bans bitcoin and crypto, there's still all the other countries that could and definitely would speculate on bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.
1264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Resounding Assurance of Bitcoin's Dominance. on: June 15, 2023, 02:00:26 PM
How is Binance the end of cryptocurrencies? Binance is just one exchange despite it being one of the biggest. If Bitcoin survived MtGox, how will crypto not survive Binance? It's a no-brainer.

*What happens to the coins of those who invested in BTC and other coins in the exchange?
Totally depends on what actually ends up happening to Binance.

*What becomes of the crypto market?
*How would other sectors like forex or stocks be impacted?
Still up and running like always? Just very likely in the red for a while.

*How would other sectors like forex or stocks be impacted?
Obviously unaffected — if anything, it'll be more bullish for them.
1265  Local / Pilipinas / Re: T-Shirt Business For Bitcoin Adoption Profitable Ba on: June 15, 2023, 01:31:20 PM
Times like this: little to no demand
Bull markets: HEAVY demand

Pero why stick to bitcoin only? Ang kagandahan sa t-shirt business e pwede mo iprint kahit anong gusto mo. Go print whatever the current trend is.

Don't tell him to invest or to not invest. Give him educational material then let himself decide if he wants to invest or not. Simple as that.

1267  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Majority of investors are quitting, what are you doing? on: June 13, 2023, 05:57:14 PM
Pretty simple question for the quitters — if you're an actual investor, why would you prefer investing at the top rather than when everyone's getting out? Assuming you actually have conviction with your investments.
1268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin whale 'awakens' after 10 years. on: June 13, 2023, 09:06:49 AM
This is a total nothing burger as 1,432.93 BTC or $37.8 million would barely move bitcoin's price; and in the first place it would be a total dumb move for a "whale" to dump all that in one market order — assuming that was the person's intention in the first place.
1269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kids and Bitcoin on: June 13, 2023, 08:55:48 AM
Not the answer you're looking for, but let them enjoy the superhero stuff for now. You don't necessarily need to shove Bitcoin down their throats this early, as they're unlikely to grasp Bitcoin anyway because in the first place they probably barely grasp the concept of money.
1270  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Exploring Decentralized Exchanges (DEX): Advantages and Challenges on: June 13, 2023, 05:53:50 AM
But to interact with this kind of DEX it is necessary to grant access permission to the wallet, a certain level of permission allows the DEX to do anything including emptying the balances. I will still take it very carefully to trade large amounts.

Yes — unless you can read smart contract code, you can't really know for sure if a 'DEX' has malicious code or not. Fortunately this is easily circumvented by simply using a different wallet for your cold storage, and a different wallet for your swaps(or smart contract usage in general).
1271  Other / Meta / Re: How do you like the idea? on: June 13, 2023, 03:29:24 AM
What Jet Cash and others did was great, but isn't really that necessary. Merit sources can simply scout threads for users who deserve merits; it doesn't necessarily need to be them to create the thread as it only makes little difference.
1272  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: from closed source to open source wallet[what is the risk] on: June 12, 2023, 07:14:45 PM
Should I agree with this? Anyways you said "it can be argued". I believe open source concerns about making the codes visible and accessible to every developer. So, this shouldn't determine if a wallet is non custodial or not.
It can be open source and still compromised.

Of course, because open-source doesn't automatically mean it's secure. It's just that with open-source wallets (assuming a lot of eyes have gone through the source code), potential vulnerabilities could be spotted by coders interested in the said wallet. With closed-source on the other hand, you're entrusting everything to the dev team alone.
1273  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tips on crypto investment on: June 12, 2023, 06:44:29 PM
When you think you are in total control but you don't give up on learning you will later realize that you were never that smart in the beginning, you will be thankful to your will to learn more and that's why you can find out your faults.

And that's why a sizeable amount of people end up going back to being bitcoin-only. Sometimes trying to find risky altcoins to buy isn't the right strategy — it's simply just buying and holding bitcoin, and try to increase your income through other means like jobs and businesses.
1274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin pledge for a newbie on: June 12, 2023, 06:24:16 PM
What Onset said. You don't even necessarily need to go through Bitcointalk to be successful in whatever your plan is with Bitcoin/crypto; just like how you don't need to go through WarriorForum if you want to be successful in the world of digital marketing.
1275  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Exploring Decentralized Exchanges (DEX): Advantages and Challenges on: June 12, 2023, 04:25:35 PM
If you're a crypto dude (outside of bitcoin-only), then these 'DEXs' are a godsend. The fact that you don't need to deposit your funds to a centralized exchange/custodian to be able to trade/swap assets is simply excellent.

Obviously the liquidity isn't as good as the likes of Binance, but I'll take it.
1276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the best career for women on: June 12, 2023, 08:16:26 AM
That's some very unnecessary gender-ism. Bitcoin is for whoever is interested in it — regardless of sex, age, jurisdiction, profession, how many dicks or nipples the person has, whatever. It's a neutral asset that doesn't give a crap who you are.
1277  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is ahead is very dangerous on: June 12, 2023, 03:44:16 AM
This only means that the group of people or the person behind this so called airdrop planned to scam those who are fooled by this. We knoe that scammers will do their best to make it look like real or legit in our eyes. I can give advice to whoever see this must avoid it at cost and that's the only advice I can give so they won't lose their money from such scheme. If I am a newbie then I would follow what I just advice newbies to do when they see this and they should so make some research if it is real or not to avoid getting scammed by them.

Like they could've at least promote a fake airdrop of well known platforms/protocols that doesn't have a token yet lmao (there's like a lot of them). But I guess the smarter bunch of crypto peeps aren't their target in the first place..
1278  Other / Meta / Re: Text size while posting reply on: June 12, 2023, 03:32:12 AM
Can you try switching browsers as a quick solution? It has always been that small for me when using Brave/Chrome, on the other hand the adjusting of everything is far better when using Firefox.
1279  Economy / Speculation / Re: Take advantage of the price fall. on: June 12, 2023, 03:13:25 AM
This is why dollar-cost averaging(DCA) is one of the best strategies especially for newbies — because lump sum buys gets them to panic over price drops/crashes. At least with DCA, a price crash could make them automatically look at it as an opportunity.
1280  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Any way to display my total bitcoin balance over multiple electrum wallets? on: June 11, 2023, 05:37:17 PM
Something different but not sure if you'd want it: use Google sheets. Not sure what API to use but I'm sure there's a free one out there that you can use. Basically scrape your address balances, then just use =SUM( to get the total amount of BTC you have.
