RED ALERT!

This just appeared inside my DGEX account in big red letters:

"NEW SECURITY ALGORITHM IN USE - Update your password!
You may also use your old password, most important is that you
update the new encryption data to the DGEX database through the above form."

I'm not sure if someone hacked in and posted that to get people to enter their password though!

What is your Nxt account number?  Not your passphrase.  Be careful not to post your passphrase.

I'm getting a 403 Forbidden error when trying to download the latest client:

wget http://www.nxtcrypto.org/nxt-client-0.5.0.zip

I can get it here:

wget http://info.nxtcrypto.org/nxt-client-0.5.0.zip

The link on the first page should be updated.

Nxt off coinmarketcap.com again.  Price dropping like a rock on DGEX.

Is anyone else getting this?  Is there a place where I can download it?

Does anyone know if I can run NRS on Linux as a non-root user?

Much as I hate the thought of someone getting away with stealing nxt, I strongly disagree with any idea about hardcoding into the client something that freezes these (or any) accounts. It is the start of a slippery slope that leads to bad places.

+1

GCInc., glad to see you admit the way fees were handled was a mistake.  Good to see you posting here in response to comments.  Thank you.

I think it's funny though that some people are complaining that the initial reward isn't enough, while others say that it's too much.

Agreed.  I think this means you got it about right.

You can burn with counterpartyd even if the blockchain is not up-to-date (though you have to be careful not to try to burn too much). Use the --force option (heh).

The option daemon=1 isn't important.

Using Blockchain.info for the burn means that you'll need to export the private key into Bitcoind before you can use the XCP you received.

I'm trying to decide whether to burn with blockchain.info or counterpartyd.  If the former, can I export the private key into multibit to use the XCP?  If the latter, can I run counterpartyd and bitcoind in a VPS?

I meant to include Ripple.  That definitely qualifies.

Which have produced something of substance?  These have:

Ripple
NXT
Mastercoin
Counterparty

Are there others?

I'm amazed by all of the Earthcoin votes here.  There must be something there I'm not getting.  They do seem to have great marketing but is that enough to sustain them in the top 5 throughout 2014?  What is the difference between great marketing and pumping before dumping?  Is the coin innovative?  I'll buy if someone can make sense of this.
