I don't get what is the big deal with this?
Why it is "miracle".
Does it taste so good?
The small fruit has the color of a cranberry, the shape of an almond and tastes like a flavorless gummy. But after chewing the fruit and rubbing the pulp against the tongue, the berry, known by a promising name -- "miracle fruit" -- releases a sweetening potency that alters the taste buds.
For about 15 to 30 minutes, everything sour is sweet. Lemons lose their zing and taste like candy. Oranges become sickeningly sweet. Hot sauce that usually burns the tongue tastes like honey barbecue sauce that scorches as it trickles down the throat.

Sounds cool.
I haven't seen these anywhere Sad

Awesome, but do they ship worldwide?
Because sometimes I try to order something and then get message they won't ship to my country.
You should send a message to the seller and ask if he ship worldwide. If not then you can search on amazon , i am sure you will find at least a seller who ships worldwide.

I would  say Alan Mulally from Ford .The turnaround he accomplished at Ford required the right combination of business savvy and cultural influence within the company. It was all just in time too. By the time the Great Recession hit, Ford was able to weather it without a bailout. All while dealing with the dynamics of unions. Few CEO’s in history could have done when he has with that company.

Would you rather: Make a lot of money doing a job that makes you miserable or barely make ends meet doing something you love? Thoughts?

Make a lot of money doing a job that makes me miserable, till I saved up enough, then do something I love.

Anyway, it depend on the person, is s/he is need to have a lot of money? Or is s/he capable of enduring that 'barely'. I think when we love something, we can go through that 'barely'...
I have friends who loved taking photographs and cooking. Their parents told them 'you can't make a living doing those things. stop playing around!' but they persevered and now they are professionals in their own field! (One friend has his own restaurant)
My photographer friend even gets sponsored to travel around and take pictures of beautiful places like the Himalayas because his skills are just that good!

I make Carne Adovada (pork in mild red chile sauce) – admittedly, from a mix. I’ve made it from scratch and frankly I like the mix just as much, if not more.

My best shot if I were to cook for myself is fried rice. just throw anything edible from the fridge, mix it with rice n some spice n soy sauce. And if I cook for myself, I never too care about the taste. As long as it fill my stomach, it do the job.

Anyone has tried fried tofu, mix with tomatoes n some cabbage in fried rice? It surprisingly good. n CHEAP. LoL Tongue
When i first saw tofu is said that i will never put that in my mouth, but my wife tricked me and put fried tofu in my favorite salad and was so so good. Now i eat more tofu than cheese.....but no tofu will ever replace the melting mozzarella from pizza!

Everybody loves Sheldon, but personally I like Leonard, he's just so funny in his ways of dealing with Sheldon and how he's the only sane one of the 4 main male characters. And Raj is also hilarious in how he can't talk to women and when he's drunk .

Looks more like a Corrections and Law Enforcement monitor... strap it to your ankle and pretend that you're a sex offender...

That, if you could go back in time what would you change knowing what you now know.

I will back to my 18s and tell myself hey you will meet a girl called sandra , stay away from her she will be the yokoono of your career (joke) he is my girlfriend.

No probably i would focus on my career and tell myself everything else is a waste of time
I would go back to ~500 BC in Athens. Best century in the south european world for sure. Or I would go back to 1st grade, "restart" my life with new priorities and targets.

I will go back to AD 1520, and steal all of the Lost Inca Gold. In return, I will give AK-47s to the Incas and other native Americans, so that when the conquistadors arrive to butcher them, they could fight back.  Grin
Interesting....that will totally change American history,no more native Americans slaughtered by the France,Spain and UK,no more American dream!

Glad to see so many excellent and inspiring political leaders being recognized and recommended in this thread!
I would also like to honor Francis Bacon, an England politician in the late 1500s who served under both Queen Elizabeth I and King James I!
Although his father was a Lord Keeper, he climbed up the political ladder the hard way starting from an MP, to attorney general and eventually Lord Chancellor of England. He was a close adviser to the King and even supported some of the King's very controversial decisions so that he could convince the King to encourage Scientific Development in Britain!
In an era which was still burning witches at the stake, he managed to use his influence in court to encourage scientific endeavors and was widely regarded after his death as the father of the great scientific revolution of the western world.
He remained extremely influential through his works, especially as philosophical advocate and practitioner of the scientific method during the scientific revolution.

I think there has been a lack of female political figures in this thread. What about Edith Wilson, President Woodrow Wilson's wife, who secretly ruled as the president of the United States when her husband suffered a stroke!

In 1919, Woodrow Wilson suffered a stroke which left him paralyzed on his left side and in a weakened state. So his wife, was forced to step up to the role of helping him govern.

She was told that Wilson was no longer capable of exercising many of his presidential duties, Edith was given two strict directives by his doctors: if Woodrow was to leave office, it would probably kill him, however, if he was burdened by government affairs, that would also probably kill him

Placed in the position of keeper of the presidency in a time before women were even allowed to vote, Edith kept his weakened state hidden from his staffers and the nation for six weeks. And was left largely in power over a country that will one day become the most powerful nation in the world for 2 years from 1919 to 1921!

Although in her memoirs, Edith claims that she only decided which matters to bring to Woodrow's attention and which could be resolved without him, this is actually a LOT of power. She also fought against having the vice president take office in Woodrow's stead. Many have thus referred to her as the first female president of the United States.

She was also vastly credited to be the driving force behind giving women the rights to vote!

This is because women was granted the rights to vote in 1920 and she secretly took over the role of the president of the US in 1919. Coincidence? I think not.

Considering Wilson was one of the worst presidents in US history, I wonder how many of his dictatorial policies she was involved in. Was she the one that passed alcohol prohibition? Wilson is the genius who allowed the military industrial complex to take hold of the US.

Though if it weren't for him we wouldn't have Bitcoin. Considering he handed all of the US control of money to the Federal Reserve. Though, who knows, maybe we would have had Bitcoin a lot sooner.
Woodrow Wilson,he was the one that passed alcohol prohibition.
He segregated water fountains because he refused to drink after any black person. he jailed anyone who spoke out against the war (can you imagine bush or obama doing that?) and helped create the fed, something he regretted till the day he died. he wrote about the need to use eugenics on americans to prevent the lower class from breeding. he spoke about breaking up the american family so the government could influence children.

The first hand gun was not invented until the 15th century. Once the gun was invented and perfected, it changed the way wars were fought forever.

Then do not go to Bangkok Rigon, Thailand has lots of interesting places other than Bangkok. Honestly I could not find any inspiration in Bangkok for all my 5 visits to this country. I prefer some beaches in the south.

P/s: with or without army in the streets, crime rates in Thailand has never been higher than those in the States. So where is the problem then? Nop, at least for me ...

Adam Smith is very influential.  So is Keynes, Marx, Hayek, Ricardo, Locke,  Schumpeter, Friedman
Adam Smith is often described as the "founding father of economics". A great deal of what is now considered standard theory about the theory about markets was developed by Adam Smith. Two books, Theory of Moral Sentiments and An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations are of great importance. First time I’ve heard about him was in collage ,on the economy class, when I started to read “Theory of Moral Sentiments”...i never finish it.

A good business book that I can recommend would be:

What They Don't Teach You At Harvard Business School by Mark H. McCormack

I loved his advice about 'observing aggressively'Too many people nowadays are too caught up in what they themselves wanna say that they forget to pay attention to their business partners (aka the person they are talking to) when actually if you observe them closely and listen carefully to their actions and the words they use, their conscious and subconscious actions can tell you a lot about themselves and what they think!Ever since then I've made it a point to sit back and relax while paying attention to the people I'm talking to.
If you are in marketing business or in selling occupation the book must be proved best but for other readers who wish to find it a self help guide may glide down to zero level
Some tips are good but only few...

Hmm... Things are little settled now in Bangkok.. Military Leader Gen Prayuth has been given royal endorsement to take care of peace in the country... Elections are going to take place soon.. I guess it is now safe to travel to the country.. In fact, better as it is going to be less crowded ..

What are some great business or economy themed books you guys have read?
Do include a good advice from the book that you have recommended as well.
For me, a good econs book I've read would the 'The wealth of nations' by Adam Smith which is a book first published in 1776!It is widely considered as the 'magnum opus' (greatest work) in classical economics! Before the book, there has never before been such a huge collection of explanations for the changes and growth of economic theories.

My favorite quote from the book would be this:

"Laws frequently continue in force long after the circumstances which first gave occasion to them, and which could alone render them reasonable, are no more."

I do think that quote can be applied to many outdated laws that we still have nowadays, don't you think?
