Actually, Indonesia is pretty peaceful.  They've had a few incidents over the years but Ive never felt anything but safe and welcome in Indonesia.  The people are more friendly to me than they are here at home by a wide margin and Ive been all over the main muslim places like Makassar on Sulawesi.  I love it there.  Id go almost anywhere in Indonesia in a heartbeat.
You see roses and perfection, but that's not the reality. I'm surprised that you are so taken with that country while declaring the US a racist and discriminatory country.

And all religions are evil, at the moment it must be said that Islam is particularly ghastly.

In the Middle Ages, when Christianity was doing much the same things this post is condemning Islam, Muslim scholars were making massive advances in astronomy, mathematics and other pursuits.

Societies have a close relationship with their principal religion and mankind will stagnate so long as religions are anchoring them.

I do agree that Islam, if it continues with the present bunch of fanatics leading them, will probably go in reverse.

“Men never do evil so completely  or so joyfully than when they do it from religious   conviction.”  Blaise Pascal.
Bring yourself into the present, look around the world and see what Christian nations have created. Then look at islam and tell me there is no difference? If you still despise the Christian values this country was founded on you are free to move to another nation, maybe one based on atheism.

So keep them on full welfare, but with a stipulation that they train for some sort of skilled job. Then after a year or two, whatever the program might be they transition into full time work.

That isn't what I'm talking about exactly, altho I would agree in general with 'keep them on full welfare while they train'....the FACT is that most disabled people, whatever the disability physical or mental, can't successfully do much more than part time or min. wage work, if they can find it. It's also a fact that when they take such work, hoping to supplement, they are docked in benefits.  So they don't try. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. It is a type of trap.
I had a good friend , from a well off family, valedictorian in her high school class, Daddy bought her a new convertible for graduation, already accepted into pre-med at the state college, plus, she was drop dead gorgeous.  She also had a boyfriend---  who felt bad because she had a new car and he didn't, so after graduation he drove her new car, -----------and flipped it.  Broke her neck and left her with the ability to move ONE arm slightly.  I met her at work, you see after the accident she couldn't handle the rigorous education course she had planned, so she changed to accounting, which would not require the ability to walk.  She never accepted one cent of charity, or disability---she worked every day, and could type faster than I using a pencil eraser in her one functional hand....  her boyfriend dropped her within six weeks of the accident, because being around her made him depressed.  I'm sorry, if Rosemary could support herself,  by God anyone can.
1064  Other / Politics & Society / Re: IRS claims it has LOST two years' worth of emails from former official Lerner on: June 24, 2014, 01:11:49 PM
Agree, we shouldn't stand for it, but the Obama regime believes it will get a pass on this.  Haven't the media, and his supporters like Jim, defended him from years.  From IRS, Benghazi, F&F, Syria, Ukraine, and now Iraq.  Nothing is EVER his fault.  Time to hold his sorry a$$ accountable.  He needs to get his a$$ back to DC and start to address these issues....instead he is out on the golf course.
I am 100% in favor of the facts coming out...all the time. As of today there is absolutely zero connection of the administration and the President to Lois Lerner's lost e-mail. Your assumptions to the opposite are childish and laughable.
As for playing golf, so too did George Bush while we were at war.
Bush all but stopped playing golf because the press attacked him constantly for it.
If, Obama is so disrespected, so ignored by those under him that he has NOTHING to do with these emails, what the hell is his job?  There is nothing you won't say he isn't responsible for, so why are we paying his ignorant ass a salary if he's responsible for nothing under the blanket of his beyond incompetent leadership?
There are emails,  that have already been discovered that went directly to the White House counsel.
The president is as responsible for the IRS computers as he is for a returned address letter. Presidents do not fix computers or deliver mail.
What is he responsible for is finding out the facts when government fails to function effectively. In the case of the IRS that means finding those "missing" emails or holding people accountable. That I do expect from a president.
Thing is, you don't know the difference when you hate OBAMA, SO YOU WANT HIM BLAMED IF IT RAINS OR IF IT DOESN'T RAIN.

Simple, just not too bright.
1065  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US police departments are increasingly militarised, finds report on: June 24, 2014, 12:59:41 PM
This is happening all over the world. Our own police regularly batter peoples doors in under the slenderest of pretexts. It just goes to show me that the police have gone from being protectors of us to protectors of the Government.
Where do they find these thugs who love to beat up their fellow citizens? We see them in Egypt, Turkey and anywhere else that the population try to exercise their rights. Even here with the police desire to kettle us all whether you are involved or not. Is there any redress? Not at all.
They say that like breeds like and I do know that there are some nasty people out there but to treat us all like that is an abomination. Whatever happened to the knock on the door? I had a great respect for the police when I was a lad but I am afraid they are doing themselves no favors.
Osama Bin Laden did more damage with his 9/11 attack than he could ever have imagined.

Is there paying work? Is there lack of work force?

As long as answer to those is no, there is no welfare problems.

That's the lazy way out.  If every American waited for somebody to give them a job then we would have no Henry Ford.  If there's no job, you make one.  You hustle.  You work your ass off.  You offer to mow lawns, wash cars, etc.  Don't sit on your ass watching Oprah and Dr. Oz.  If you have trouble making ends meet take the public assistance, but don't sit on your ass wondering why somebody from McDonald's hasn't run to your front door with a uniform begging you to work.

The people spoiled on welfare don't know poverty.  In 1932 how many people walked door to door asking if work was available.  I doubt more than 5% of the welfare generationals even try this.
There are 4.5 million jobs now going vacant in the US.  No one is trained to fill them.  Many jobs require only 3 months training some more but over 80% of jobs could be trained for in one year. Some corporations are understanding this and are working toward helping their workers become trained.

We have moved into a new age and are having a hard time keeping up especially with a government that right now is uunfunctionable. We need to take our community colleges and have them work with the various companies in that area and design training for their new employees.  We have done that here in Spokane and it worked very well.  That idea needs to expand to all states. Unions used to do a lot of trianing but with the decline of unions we have lost a lot of training for the trades.

I will invest in miners/bitcoins,I might splurge like 10k on stuff, while also planning a trip to see the world.
Any remaining money would help to pay for my daughter's education so she wouldn't be saddled with too much debt later on.
1069  Other / Politics & Society / Re: IRS claims it has LOST two years' worth of emails from former official Lerner on: June 23, 2014, 05:50:35 PM
Think about it. Government e-mails come through a primary server where they are stored as the messages are delivered to the government employee. Simultaneously, the identical data is sent from the primary server to a "Fail Over" server next to the primary, and also to an Offside, far away 'Disaster Recovery' Server.

"IF" ALL four locations were stripped of e-mails, then that is a felony crime for erasing official government data. This is as pathetic and sick as our Banana Republic gets!
1070  Other / Politics & Society / Re: IRS claims it has LOST two years' worth of emails from former official Lerner on: June 23, 2014, 05:33:29 PM
The contents of a hard drive are never gone.  They backed up and stored, they exist so this is a huge lie.  The emails must have implicated Lerner and Obama.  Why else would they "claim" they were gone? These people are criminals of the worst kind and should be in jail.
1071  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Some statistics on welfare on: June 23, 2014, 04:39:49 PM
The problem arises when these unproductive people have children. Cutting welfare benefits from these people means that their children are affected. If we can find a way do see that children are taken of and their parents are not maybe we can get people to be more productive.
There is such a thing as generational welfare, and being trapped in a cycle of poverty.  It does involve a mindset, but it is far more complicated than can be explained away with "lazy and entitled".  If you start with poor education and lack of skill sets, combine it with limited opportunity, or the availability of only low/minimum wage employment that keeps them in poverty...then you get "what's the point?"  They do better (financially) by simply staying put.

There's also this:  People who are disabled, but still capable of doing simple jobs or tasks that pay low...get their welfare benefits cut, so they stay stuck in the same or worse situation.
So keep them on full welfare, but with a stipulation that they train for some sort of skilled job. Then after a year or two, whatever the program might be they transition into full time work. I don't personally know of one person who can not find work. Adults, kids coming out of college, everyone I know and their kids too have good jobs.
Basically if the gov. gives you money you have to earn it if you're physically able. Community service, jobs programs, menial labor for some public works. Just make it so a person can't sit home watching the Jerry Springer show eating Cheetos while they wait for a check. Want a hand up, no problem...........earn it.

I have a question.... why doesn't obama say that the terrorists have to go??  they are the ones murdering the citizens..... ??
This is not terrorism.  It is a civil war between Sunnis and Shias.  They also are al Qeada and Iranians.  Pick who you want or let them kill each other.
1074  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Thoughts on religion for a Sunday morning on: June 23, 2014, 01:41:17 PM
The entire concept of Christianity is based on the game show "Let's make a deal."  I will do good things and in return, I will receive ever lasting life.  I get a pay back for my efforts.  It is only when you do good, for the sake of others with no desire for payback that you are actually manifesting the highest form of charity.  And, any review of today's churches shows they are far far away from this charity.
Not exactly scriptural.  In fact, off hand, it is the only faith I know of where it teaches that good works cannot save us - rather, they should flow out of appreciation of what the Creator has done for us.
Now, agreed, there are churches that teach some variation of what you posted .  But, churches do err - thus one of the reasons for most if not all of the books of the New Testament.  Be it Revelation, where John is correcting the churches, or Paul's epistles, etc.
1075  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do you hate government? on: June 23, 2014, 01:00:10 PM
My problem with the government is that I've never felt that it was working for me...in fact, developments of recent years has shown it is working against guys like me (self-employed)...

The Tea Party has it right-the beast is too big and needs to be trimmed....

In other words-get out of my way and I'll take care of my/our family's problems ourselves!

People take their religion very seriously but seldom are capable of following the rules and regulations of the belief.
Religion isn't for the perfect. It is for the imperfect, like me for instance.

Quote
Most man made religions are profoundly silly such as Christianity and Islam.
Says someone who believes the entire universe just happened out of essentially nothing and for no particular reason. Okay.

Quote
Religion and intellect are not and will never be compatible.
Many of the greatest minds of history were people of faith and they didn't seem to find any incompatibility between their accomplishments and their beliefs.

Quote
Much of religion is based on fear.
I disagree. I believe most religion is a natural attempt to understand the complexity of the universe and to form the basis for a moral, just, and kind society. Understanding that there is a power greater than oneself and knowing that spiritual power can be engaged with doesn't result in or come from fear.

What a bleak existence it must be to feel that life has no meaning beyond its superficial and temporary earthly manifestation.
1077  Other / Politics & Society / Re: One Week in Islam: What is Wrong With This Faith??? on: June 23, 2014, 11:54:20 AM
In order to claim Christianity is 'just as bad' as an excuse for Islam , the accusers have go back in history several hundred years and then distort the truth.
If you only beat your wives and honor kill your daughters, then you're a 'moderate' Muslim. A 'moderate' by Islamic standards would be a murderous, misogynistic, raving lunatic by Christian standards.
And let's not forget that we Americans are the ultimate targets for those currently trying to gain control of Iraq and its oil billions. That will finance just about any terrorist attack on America that these fanatics bent on world domination can dream up. Everything has its price, including nuclear weapons.

A few posts from now somebody will tell you how everything you say about islam is also true about Buddhism, Christianity, all religions should be banned, or you should be banned yourself for being an islamophobe spreading terrible lies about the religion of peace.

Look at the world, the whole world. Now look at the nations that islam has built and compare them to the nations that Christianity built. Where would you rather live and what religion would you prefer to live with? The lefties will tell you that Christians are just as bad if not worse than muslims but can you look at the world and really believe that? Do we really need to change America so that muslims are free to implement sharia law and force Christians to hide their religion behind closed doors?

Dear god!!!  the iraqi people better find shelter... you saw what happened when Obama ad Hillary said bashir had to go, that country is now in a bloody murderous civil war... the terrorists are taking over and slaughtering people in the streets..... and now Obama and kerry say the same think about al-maliki??  obama didnt' follow up with bashir... what the hell is he going to do when al-maliki doesnt' leave his office either?   when choosing the worst possible option, obama digs down and just gets an even worse option.  the middle east is positively exploding... and obama having done nothing to try to stop the implosion, NOW thinks it a good time to get involved??
well, I am sure al-malaki is not too worried, he saw what obama did to bashir.... so he knows he is pretty safe.....

Well, according to some sources, Eve was the second attempt after the first attempt at creating a "companion" for Adam went seriously wrong.

You mean Steve? Yeah, that didn't go so well.
According to midrashic literature, Adam's first wife was not Eve but a woman named Lilith, who was created in the first Genesis account. Only when Lilith rebelled and abandoned Adam did God create Eve, in the second account, as a replacement. In an important 13th century Kabbalah text, the Sefer ha-Zohar ("The Book of Splendour") written by the Spaniard Moses de Leon (c. 1240-1305), it is explained that:

" At the same time Jehovah created Adam, he created a woman, Lilith, who like Adam was taken from the earth. She was given to Adam as his wife. But there was a dispute between them about a matter that when it came before the judges had to be discussed behind closed doors. She spoke the unspeakable name of Jehovah and vanished. "

....and some say that she is "the first vampier"........
