1281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: April 02, 2023, 04:39:07 PM
they took a long process before it happened, they really attached fans to make sure that they will earn huge amount of money.

Actually that's not what happened. The Pacman vs Mayweather fight is expected to be the top grossing fight but end up dissapointment in terms of the supposed expectations. The hype is not that big anymore when they fight as fans want to see instead the prime Pacquiao.

Also Manny has an injury during the fight so his performance is greatly affected.  Even though they made it known to Floyd's camp and ask something to lessend the effect of injury but got denied.  At the end we have seen and injured past prime Manny during the Pacquiao - Mayweather Jr. fight.
Yes, I remember that many fans of Mayweather have said that the Filipino champ was just faking that he got an injury prior to the fight to make an excuse but later on, it was revealed and confirmed that Pacquiao did really had a shoulder injury which causes his performance to decline especially in the late rounds.

But we can't compared it to the current Spence vs Crawford negotiation as on that Pacman vs Mayweather issues, Mayweather is the one being seen the main reason why it took a long time to organize his fight against Manny. Here in Spence vs Crawford, it's not just Spence that might be the only hindrance but the boxing council themselves. There are lots of parties that can be considered a problem why the talk can't be finalized.

True, but in the end, it is the failure of the boxing council to cement a fight for both fighters so I can say there is a common factor why these two set of boxers takes too long to have their match organized and that is the failure of the sanctioning bodies to implement mandatory fights between boxers.
That is the downside of this industry, they got the four major bodies to help both camps settle and materialize a fight, and then give the people the entertainment they wanted but instead, these bodies are on the payroll of some influential promoters.

The frustration of Luka towards the call of the referees definitely affects his performance. Add also the fact that they are one of the worst defensive teams right now. Their highest place that they can get at this moment is at least the play-in tournament. Good luck with them, and I hope they will get better players in the off-season.

Yes, it was really evident. We can see that it wasn't his confidence to shoot that was impaired, it was his performance, and they got a massive pressure from the management to create a better outcome because they are looking forward to seeing the opposite way because they acquired Kyrie to help Luka. I don't know what's with the management, but I'm sure they know that they aren't that good in defense anymore and that is the consequence for getting an All-star caliber.

With their loss earlier against the Clippers against the Heat, their tunnel to participate in the play-in becomes more and more smaller as days goes by. I'd choose the Jazz over the Dallas right now to participate in the post-season games because they certainly got more chances to reach further and it's not impossible to happen.
1283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 01, 2023, 03:28:28 PM
Many fans may not be interested in seeing a rematch between Canelo and Bivol due to the one-sided beatdown in their previous fight where Canelo was exposed.

I think that's the other way around. Many fans want to see that rematch because they are expecting a different version of Canelo here. Being destroyed by Bivol on their first meetup, Canelo fans want to see if a sweet revenge and comeback will now be able to execute by Canelo.

It just also makes sense that some fans want a rematch between Canelo and Bivol as that was an unfinished task by Canelo that he needed to pass. Not unless Bivol is not interested in any talks about the rematch, then no choice for some fans but to move on.

By some, you mean the minority? Because I really don't see that there's a lot of fans expect from Canelo's die-hard fans who are also wishing to see the rematch with the hopes that Canelo can somehow give a difference. I mean, that's just like wishing to see a Caleb-Canelo rematch, it just doesn't make sense anymore because it was a landslide victory.

Also, I think the rematch will probably be interesting enough and will get the people's attention if the rematch will be contested at 168 and not on 175 where Bivol is more dominant just like what we saw in their first fight. If ever this rematch will happen at 175, Canelo might've wanted to add another embarrassment to his career for the sake of money-fight.
1284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: April 01, 2023, 02:34:06 PM
Not easy, as Fulton is heavier than all those previous fights that he has before, but knowing him, he will adjust and he will try to showcase everything to make things happened in his favor.

Naoya Inoue already considered and recognized Stephen Fulton as the big opponent he will face in his career right now. Therefore, expect that Inoue will obviously adjust once they meet each other in the ring. Likewise, Fulton of course will do the same.

Both boxers are champions in their respective league. They truly know how to adjust and it's just that, who will have the better adjustment.

I'm looking forward to a close fight with these champions and that's more entertaining to watch instead of a landslide victory.
And for that, best assume that Naoya Inoue will make a heavy preparation in this fight because he knows and by your words recognized that Steph Fulton is not an easy wall to break through. We all know what will likely happen once Inoue is serious, he will be a different monster and will try to be more dominant in the fight, and while the fight is getting intense, Inoue will evolve more until one of them will survive the fight and have it on their favor.

Quote

Same here, it's much more entertaining and fun watching two boxers going back and forth in the ring because the fight is just so close and intense. The last time I see Inoue having a good fight was the time he first encountered Nonito Donaire.
1285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: March 31, 2023, 08:58:02 PM
But to be real though, that requires a lot of time before Donaire even have the chance to be in that position and considering Donaire's situation, I'm afraid he can't really chase up to two fights per year just to secure those belts after defeating Santiago for the vacated belt. Needless to say, I'm not doubting him but that's the reality he's in.

I don't think it will take him lots of time, in a year or two, he can have a chance to achieve this fate if he gets the title in his upcoming fight.  He can even get it this year but of course it all depends on his promoter/manager on how great they are in arranging title unification fights.

That is only possible if only Jason Moloney is also interested to make it happen but since Moloney already showed some signs that he doesn't want to get himself in the same ring with Inoue, it will probably take much more longer than 2 years considering that there's two more belts left to acquire with each belt got their own respective fights and then let's count the preparations and discussions to make it happen. So yes, I think 2 years won't be suffice.

Just thinking about it makes me excited to see Donaire to be the unified champion of bantamweight division or at least fight for the unification.

That's some real words in there.

Truth be told as being a fan of him, I want the best for him but you've just said it right that he's in a shoe that will make him hard for his situation just to have at least two matches per year.

Considering his status, age and other stuff, it's really gonna be hard for him to follow that type of plan if ever that's the plan. And as of now, we can't do anything but just to wait whatever's gonna be announced.

Yes, of course, who wouldn't want to see Nonito Donaire achieve that kind of feat in his most beloved sport before he makes an exit but just like you said mate, it might not possible considering those factors you've also mentioned. For now, it's much better to see him win first to become a champion once again and then we will have another discussion/speculation if he still wants to have some more.
1286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 31, 2023, 07:45:25 PM
So I read a conversation from my hardcore friends that Tank Davis didn't just demand a catchweight at 136 but also a rehydration clause of no more than 146. So this is a fucked up fight for Ryan Garcia. So I guess it may be true that his lazy ass is done with boxing and just wanted to cash out big time so he surrendered every possible leverage he could take in this fight for sake of millions of dollars for his early retirement fund. Ryan Garcia is nearly a year inactive and after spending 2 fights at 140, he is now back to a catchweight of 136 which would be harder for his growing age and that rehydration clause will affect his full potential for this fight.

No wonder Tank is getting 1.39 odds which surprised me, I was expecting around 1.50 something.

I'm afraid you got your facts wrong my friend. First off, it wasn't Tank Davis who demanded a catchweight at 136, it was Ryan Garcia because it was said that he's not that suitable anymore to fit at 135 and to give back the favor, the latter also agreed with Tank's camp to have a rehydration clause which will limit the latter's weight in the day of their actual fight.

Take note, this wouldn't happen if only Ryan Garcia proceeded with a plain fight that will be contested at 135 but since his camp asked some favor that will give them an advantage, it's no wonder that Tank's side will also make up something to even out the table.

Second, Ryan Garcia was already more than two years inactive at 130 if that's what you mean because his last two fights was contested at 140 where he fought Emmanuel Tagoe and Javier Fortuna, respectively.
1287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Bitcoin Was the Only Cryptocurrency? on: March 31, 2023, 06:49:49 PM
You certainly got a wild thought OP and honestly, I did gave it a thought.

But I guess there would be no what ifs in the first place because look at the market now, there's just dozens of cryptocurrencies that exists and there will be more that will be created in the future. To me, that just mean that there's no chance that bitcoin will be the only cryptocurrency even if we turn back the time, not at all. People will always try to imitate what's new especially in-terms of technology with the hopes to make themselves some good clean profits.
1288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Study Bitcoin on: March 31, 2023, 06:01:56 PM
It was bitcoin guys doing it as a mild troll but mostly to bring attention to people about bitcoin. Central banks have been screwing us for a very long time. The fractional reserve system is a total scam, a literal ponzi scheme & it’s starting to unravel.
It all started with just a harmless troll to gain attention from the people about bitcoin but it is already safe to say that the authorities are now tracking down who's behind this movement to make an example because the place where they've flashed the logo wasn't a random building nor a coincidence, it was the European Central Bank and I bet it was planned.

Quote
Hopefully many people see the logo & decide to look further into bitcoin & what it can do for them.
I got no doubts that many people have actually saw it and in the aftermath, many people will know it as that will surely make a headline for days.
1289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 31, 2023, 03:40:59 PM
Celtics destroyed Bucks and gave a good message about play-offs. They are ready. Insane shooting from whole team. Tatum and Brown are the best duo in the league right now. They scored more than Bucks in third period, they sit in the bench in last period when the gap went up to 40 points. Crazy night for Celtics. If they play like that in the play-off they'll be my favorite team to win the championship this year.
The Celtics are playing as if they own the Bucks, with points coming from all over the court thanks to excellent ball movement. Antetokounmpo isn't dominating the game like we've seen in their games against the Celtics. It's possible that these two teams will meet again in the ECF and the Celtics might probably advance into the Finals.
There is indeed a huge chance that these two will match-up in the Eastern Conference and I believe that it will happen given that both of them sure do like they own the conference but there might be some slight changes this time as there are also teams like the Sixers who are going to challenge both teams mentioned above.

Quote
On the other hand, the Western Conference Finals are more uncertain, as it's unclear which team will make it there.
That's what makes it more interesting because we really don't know who will prevail in the long run, these standings we have now won't matter as when the playoffs commence, all of them will start from scratch and their strengths will be tested in a series game.
1290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 30, 2023, 08:19:14 PM
Regarding about the Canelo and Benavidez issue, here's what Canelo said recently:

Quote
Canelo Alvarez reacted in annoyance & jealousy today about fans & media calling David Benavidez a ‘Monster,’ saying that it’s different when fighters like him and Gennadiy Golovkin are in the ring with him. Canelo said it’s one thing for Benavidez (27-0, 23 KOs) to look good against other fighters, but it’s not the same if he were in with him.

Interestingly, when Canelo (58-2-2, 39 KOs) was asked if he was excited about the “challenge” of fighting Benavidez, he said, “I have a different goal with my career.” In other words, Canelo WON’T be fighting Benavidez.
Source: https://www.boxingnews24.com/2023/03/canelo-reacts-to-benavidez-being-called-monster-its-not-the-same-to-have-me/

From what I've read in the stated article, it's clear enough to see that Canelo Alvarez is not really interested to fight Benavidez because from his words alone, he said that he already have fights queued up until next year including his rematch against Dmitry Bivol that is forecasted by his team to happen somewhere in September.

I'd say that these words is not really wise because even if he's not interested as Benavidez got no belts, he's been portraited as the one who is ducking away from latter. Even Hearn wanted to make that fight because it's probably much easier and less risky compared to Bivol as there might be no difference if the rematch will materialize.
1291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | POSTPONED on: March 30, 2023, 07:02:08 PM
This is excellent news for the upcoming fight. As a fan, I don't mind the postponement as long as we have a new date for the bout. With this update, we no longer have to worry about the fight's uncertainty. The mega fight is still on, and I just hope that Inoue's power has not been affected so he can display the same ferocity in the ring that we've seen before.

Yeah, I guess that's once trait of the Japanese people though, I mean they are very apologetic in a sense and so when they say that Inoue is injured, they will have to come up with a new date and probably this is what they come out, a end of July fight.

And we also have to commend Fulton as well, because he understands the accident that happen to Inoue in training and so they have to announced a postponement early. But we have a new date so the fight is still on. I think it might not bothered Inoue, he just can't change his style, just because of his hands. If it heals perfectly then I think he will still have the same or even more power.
If we do speak about Japanese race and its behavior then we could really tell that they are really that somewhat honest and really that transparent when it comes to things. It is really just that great that both camps did really make out their announcement and the other side did really respect it out and without having those thrown words and issues just like on other upcoming shit matches where lots of reasoning and bubble talks do happen in the middle.

We didnt see this thing happen on here but instead they do just announce it out about the postponement and then move out the date.Just like been said that we could really wait and its not an issue
on having more months for us to wait.

This is the kind of fight we like, there's no discussion that is going on behind the curtains without letting the people know about it. I mean, we as the fans surely have the right to know the situation because that is why we really commend them for being transparent about it. So, what we have now is just a minor setback because Naoya Inoue has been injured and let's just wait for further announcement regarding the timeline of their fight.
1292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: March 30, 2023, 06:30:32 PM
As boxing fans and bettors, we have no choice but to wait for that moment when we can witness a unification fight. While this won't be Donaire's first time in a championship fight, we want to see him become a unified champion since Inoue is no longer in this division.

Therefore, I hope the promoters don't play games and give Donaire what he deserves, which is a big fight. His time in boxing is limited, and he deserves a chance to achieve his goals before he retires.

That's good and there will be no other good thing to have when they retired than unifying all the best in their current weight division. since Donaire still has the power and speed because he is still getting intense training, he can go and take this chance before he finally put down his gloves but before that, he should put a lot of effort to win his next fight first and think about that after he wins it. He needs to focus on this one and get into the right shape to unify all the belts and become one of the legends in this sport.

Just thinking about it makes me excited to see Donaire to be the unified champion of bantamweight division or at least fight for the unification.

1293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 30, 2023, 05:01:21 PM
And with that, if the Mayweather-McGregor fight was big that time, maybe this fight could be comparable at least in terms of PPV numbers. Even Oscar was hype about this and he said that it could break PPV records. But we all know that it's coming from him as he promotes Ryan Garcia.

I don't think the PPV revenue of the upcoming fight between these two boxers will come anywhere close to that of Mayweather vs McGregor. Mayweather was widely considered the best fighter of his era and had many detractors, which actually helped attract more fans.

However, neither of these two fighters have that level of popularity. There are other popular boxers in higher divisions that have more widespread appeal. While I believe they will sell a significant amount of PPV, we cannot compare it to the enormous revenue generated by Mayweather's mega-fights.
And it could be different right now as there are a lot who shared free PPV and boxing fans are looking for it so they won't buy because that's is going to be very expensive. Yeah, why not, we can say or estimates that it might be around 500,000 to as high as 1 million, I reckon. So it's going to be way below the Mayweather records, like the McGregor and Manny Pacquiao fight. Don't believed Oscar, he is delusional if he thinks that this fight can break PPV numbers. It might not even be in the top 10.

Most of the time, those people who like this kind of event that don't have enough budget to buy PPV will rely with free
streams coming from those websites that will offer free streams.

I also believe that even they may gain attention the shared revenue will still be far from those Mayweather mega fight.

There are more popular fighters that will offer big event that fans will support but for this one, maybe they'll earn decent but not that
huge.

I agree, this fight might earn big enough in the live gates as the tickets are already sold-out, so that means that all of it are already guaranteed on their side but in-terms of PPV buys? They might not break the record that they're aiming because we are now in the midst of modern era where almost people that wanted to see the fight got their own ways how to see it live. And talking about that, there's these streamers on the internet now that offers live streaming in-exchange of some donations of their service.
1294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 30, 2023, 02:35:09 PM
I wouldn't bet any money of them getting into the playins but with Luka and Kyrie you never know.
This team definitely need a big push now, otherwise the season is over and the dark horse is out.

Only 5 games left for the Mavericks and they couldn't afford to make some mistakes anymore as it will result into a position that they never wanted. The easiest team to beat among those stated games are on the last game which is the San Antonio Spurs but they should still secure it even if the advantages are on them.

Earlier, they badly need that game to improve their standings in the West and I honestly thought that they can own it to bring the team another win because they performed well in the first half but the 76ers rallied in the 2nd half and performed much better as they chased the Mavericks lead until the gap grows wider up until the game ended.
1295  Economy / Economics / Re: Lending money or damaging family bond ? on: March 29, 2023, 10:09:52 PM
While it's unfortunate that your cousin may be upset with you, it's important to prioritize your own financial stability and not feel obligated to lend money to someone who may not be reliable or trustworthy with repayment. It's also important to communicate clearly with your cousin about your decision and reasons for it, as misunderstandings can arise and worsen the situation.
Your cousin is only a victim of the situation, and not his being untrustworthy has put him to where he is right now. But the decision is still all yours, as earning money is not easy so you also have to protect your finances and not just easily lend it to someone who’s not capable of paying back. However, helping him without expecting some returns is certainly a noble deed. To think that he’s your cousin, and if you have the spare money, then lending him a portion of it might be good enough.

Some people said that selling off your properties for any reason sake is bad unless its an emergency, well I say, selling some part of my land is an emergency for me to grab some more Bitcoin, I feel like 2023 is going to be an incredible year for Bitcoin investors, I could get some more lands in 2024 or when Bitcoin makes a new ATH, what do you guys think? A stupid decision or a brilliant one? How will you take this?

Also share me what you have sold this year to buy some Bitcoin, we will still be here in 2025 and I can't wait to share my incredible success story on the forum, Bitcoin loading, 100% acquired.

What are you doing to get yours? Let's talk
Your idea might be good but it won’t work for me. I still prefer to invest using a portion of my savings from my hard-earned money rather than selling my property just to invest. If I lose, then I will just save again and then invest. Unlike if you sell a portion of your land, if you lose as losing is quite inevitable from investing, then you will never regain that portion of land you have sold. Although I still see this as individual’s preference m, but I believe most of us here won’t agree selling a portion of property just to finance a risky investment.

1298  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Early Profit can be misleading. on: March 29, 2023, 08:57:31 PM
Truth be told, the trading world shares similarities with gambling—instead of tossing dice, you're gambling with your finances. As someone deeply interested in cryptocurrency, I assure you there isn't a failsafe method for profit generation. However, don't let this deter you. Every trader, seasoned or not, has experienced monetary loss at some point—it's inherent in the process. If you're just starting, take a gradual approach, refraining from hastily committing your entire life savings. Approach it as a pastime, absorbing information from literature, educational content, and market-related news. You may even unearth a new passion for trading.
There are always inevitable failures not just tor crypto beginners, but even for those professional traders in the market. And the more we are exposed to losses, the more we are motivated to learn and move forward. However, the good thing about this is we become stronger and more confident to trade, knowing we had learned a lot from our mistakes and that help us as better traders eventually. So never be afraid to lose, as trading has reserved a lot of losses for beginners. Instead, move forward and learn from them as experiencing losses at first is better than to be exposed with quick profits as that will develop a wrong mindset that trading is all about profits, when definitely its not.

Everyone has its own target when to sell their bitcoin, but seeing someone experiencing from health issues, I guess one will be force to sell his bitcoin even when the market is still bearish. For me, that’s already part of being humanitarian, to help others when they are in need of assistance so badly. However, for the rest of the reasons listed by OP, I guess it’s everyone’s preference whether they will sell or not, as they can still continue to invest and hold without selling their bitcoin.

As a trader, things can get difficult and discouraging if you cannot relate with any other person who will have a good understanding of what you are saying concerning trading, to solve that challenge, are you part of any trading community or group that you share tips and new strategies? What other ways can you say you have benefited from being in a community asides sharing of tips and strategies. Are you doing better than when you did things on your own. Can there be any major disadvantage being a member of such a trading groups? What is your advice to people?
The only major disadvantage when you are a member in a trading group is when you start believing that trading is so easy that any trader can be so much profitable like the veteran traders in the group. So you did your own trade quickly without analyzing the market well, just imitate the same strategy that work on others, and then you end up trading at a loss. Not realizing that strategies that work for others might not work on you. The reason why we have to develop our personal trading strategy.
