1301  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MERITS: Will doing this be uncertain, or should I do this? on: January 08, 2019, 11:54:02 AM
What I wish to know: If I allocate some or all of my merits to a person I feel that they deserve it and that they should rank up, is it really fine if I do it like that way?

IMO If your judgment is based on their post quality, then you can do it. Like it or not, there will always be someone who questions your decisions, but as long as you give it to decent post (not one line garbage, hard to understand post, plagiarism, etc) then I'd say you're safe. Don't forget to see their post history before you decide to give them a huge amount of merits, because some spammer might change their posting style in order to get merits but after that they'll turn back and start spamming again.

I'd argue that most of the time, we can generally agree whether people are abusing merit or not. So you don't have to be afraid. Best of luck.
1302  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which is the most secured way of buying bitcoin with fiat currency? on: January 08, 2019, 11:45:15 AM
For someone who shills Coinswitch (who claims to accept payment via credit card, or in other words fiat) regularly, it's surprising to see that you ask such question.

I would say the best alternative to Shapeshift is Coinswitch exchange. It is an exchange aggregator of many leading exchanges. It supports more than 400 cryptocurrencies. Without creating multiple accounts, the user can trade all the coins at 1 place. No KYC is required for trading any cryptocurrency.
1303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [JUMBO] JUMBO Coin - Helping Members to Organise Finances for Retirement on: January 08, 2019, 04:04:55 AM
895 Million premine has been moved to Non Staking Wallet .. Please follow Update on Discord

That's still a lot, more than 50%. Anyway, why you guys decide the total supply to 1500 million? Isn't 900 million big enough?
1304  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Decentralised Social Media Platform - Partners, Investors, Advisers Needed! on: January 08, 2019, 03:32:02 AM
FYI, there are several projects which already try to do the same thing that you want, such as Enlte. They did an ICO and raised a lot of money, but I personally think the app is still not user-friendly and easy to use. You probably want to check it out and compare what should be fixed and add to your app.
1305  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginners To Learn About Cryptocurrency on: January 08, 2019, 03:24:36 AM
How to participate in bounty hunting? How to participate in articles writing ? How  to invest in different Atcoins?
What is WhitePaper? What is softcap and hard cap? What is fork? What is hard fork? How to determine which project is good or bad? How to remain away from scam projects? How to protect Your wallet? How to join reddit compaign and submit work? How to post on bitcoin forum? How to remove proxyban? How to avoid shit posts? Difference between fiat and crypto.

Most of these questions are about bounty hunting. I don't think it's important for beginners to learn about all of these. They should focus on learning what blockchain is and why Bitcoin is revolutionary compared to fiat money. My first book about cryptocurrency that I enjoy reading it was The Bitcoin Standard, maybe you can use it for your references OP.
1306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Switzerland May Become More Crypto Friendly With Ueli Maurer as President on: January 08, 2019, 03:11:37 AM
As financial center in the world, switzerland will leads others country to regulate cryptocurrency.

They won't lead other countries. Several countries are more crypto friendly just like Switzerland. For example, Liechtenstein, Estonia, and so on. Several projects did their ICO on those countries last year. Seems like EU countries are leading all the way though.
1307  Economy / Economics / Re: Buy Securities on Blockchain on: January 07, 2019, 12:25:15 PM
I've known this exchange since months ago. Their launch has been delayed for more than 6 months now, hopefully this time they won't delay it again after hyping it through many media. As a side note, US citizen are not allowed to register on this exchange due to regulations.
1308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your Shitcoins Are Welcome to List on This Exchange on: January 07, 2019, 12:15:48 PM
One thing that's very clear from this thread is that OP doesn't care about the quality of a project. If you rephrase his wording, you can read: "Hi, I have an exchange. Pay me and I'll list your coin, even you're scamming people".

Shitcoin should not enter any market, it should be dead forever.
1309  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: From IPO/ICO to STO on: January 07, 2019, 11:54:20 AM
The problem is that now the fake projects can and will start to claim that they are an STO, fully regulated and compliant to SEC protocols, make a legit looking website, create a fake team, compliance documents and continue collecting money until proven to be a scam.

I'm sure this issues can be prevented if SEC (or other regulatory bodies) make a database of approved STO (like Estonian FIU database). Let's say, to run an STO, you need to provide ID, etc. They'll need to provide their 'license' to run STO from SEC, so investors can do their own diligence. But if someone still got scammed, then I'm not sure it is their fault or SEC faults.
1310  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What coins do you like to trade the most? on: January 07, 2019, 11:48:08 AM
I will choose one of the top ten coins, like someone said above, I will also evaluate how much volume and listing in which market, whether the market is large and reliable or not. Then I started trading in short time frames, if possible I would also trade in medium and long time frames. Now I'm trading ethereum at binance, quite profitable in short timeframes.

Top 10 coins is not excellent because most of the time their volatility is low. I like mjglqw strategy, and have done that sometimes in the past.

Anyway, regardless of your choice you should not get too emotionally attached to it. You're trading, not investing. And don't forget to stay healthy.
1311  Economy / Reputation / Re: Waves X = Ethereum classic vision? on: January 07, 2019, 04:42:44 AM
I'm worried because this could be a long debate. and the damage of the ethereum holders will lose confidence and release their assets in the air. I need some certainty about this fork.

What? ETH holder lose confidence just because of some scammy forks? How can that happen? I can even argue that most ETH holder probably realize that classic vision is a scam by now. They hold ETH because Constantinople hard fork. So no need to worries about these scam forks, it's useless.
1312  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: about exchanges kyc withdraw! on: January 07, 2019, 04:21:39 AM
I also tried that on Gate.io exchange when I'm come back after having a 1year break from trading and decided to withdraw my balance but it needs KYC.

There are several exchange like this. For example, Bitmart, BiteBTC, and so on. Make sure to not repeat it in the future, as sometimes they limit several countries so whatever you do you won't pass KYC if you're a resident of those countries.
1313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Question] What will happened to Bitcoin if there's no miner? on: January 07, 2019, 04:11:11 AM
Thats right but some people cant earn bitcoin if theres no miner that they gonna use because lot of people like mining because they get a huge profit here.

As izanagi said, I think it's highly unlikely that there won't be any miner. If such extreme cases happens I believe it is a great opportunity to mine bitcoin because difficulty will be very low and it's going to be very profitable. Even if Bitcoin price fell a lot it won't matter because mining cost will greatly decrease.
1314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Smart Contracts indeed Smart??? on: January 07, 2019, 04:06:01 AM
I never thought for once that smart contracts were made to replace lawyer. It's just a way to enforce rules that two or several parties agreed, and cooler stuff like making your own asset on the blockchain (token). There is no way smart contract can replace lawyer, it doesn't help you defend your case, it won't help you find evidence if you're alleged for a crime nor it gives you suggestions on how to act in court.
1315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Wallet on: January 07, 2019, 03:53:39 AM
Use a hardware wallet for funds that exceed your daily expenses. All other wallets put your funds in danger of total loss

Even if you use hardware wallet there's no guarantee that your funds won't be in danger, such as when your hardware wallet is broken or have some bug. Paper wallet is safer than hardware wallet as long as you can back up correctly. If you don't use Bitcoin daily and wanted to store it for years then paper wallet is more appropriate to choose imo. So yeah, it's back to taste and more importantly how careful people can back up the seeds/private key.
1316  Economy / Services / Re: ★☆★ Bitvest.io - Plinko Sig. Campaign ★☆★ (Member-Hero Accepted) (New2) on: January 06, 2019, 11:22:02 AM
Btw, why is there no merit requirements for each tier Hhampuz? Let's say Tier A needs to have at least 50 earned merits regardless of their ranks. Tier B needs to have at least 30 and so on. I guess that is more competitive and rewarding for quality poster (note: and I mean me lol). Just my 2 cents.
1317  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do exchanges interact with the Bitcoin Blockchain? on: January 06, 2019, 10:52:54 AM
Question: I understand that Exchanges facilitate exchanging cryptocurrencies between fiat currencies and other cryptocurrencies, but how do they relate to the actual blockchain? When a trade occurs on the exchange, is it recorded in the blockchain?

No, it does not. They simply record the trades from every user and update each users balances according to the trade that happens on the platform. Transaction will show up on blockchain only if user made deposit/withdrawal.

For context, I've been looking to try algo-trading Bitcoin for fun. I understand there are highly skilled individuals already doing this and will likely make either no profit and/or lose all my investment, but I'd like to dabble in a little programming and trading to learn. I've been watching the Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Technologies Online Course on Youtube and have purchased a Ledger Nano S. Any advice or recommendation in terms of good resources to look at would be much appreciated.

If you mean algorithmic trading, you probably can use Gekko.[1] It's open source, and you can make your own trading strategies. It also supports several famous exchanges out there. If you look for paid services, then you can use GunBot, FoxBot etc.

1318  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market of the year 2018 on: January 06, 2019, 10:45:01 AM
with bitcoin core (BTC) trading for $13,170 per coin

how do you trade a "wallet"? i don't know any market that lists Full nodes/ wallets for trading. do they also have Electrum, Armory and blockchain.info for trade? i would love to buy some Electrum /s

...oh maybe you meant "bitcoin" Wink

I'm seriously surprised to see that they really wrote 'bitcoin core' on the official reports. How can a "famous" ICO review sites made such mistakes?

ICOBench should hire new writers. Oh, and don't forget to fix your rating problems.
1319  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ETF and Bakkt will have effect, but BTC halving is the main deal. on: January 06, 2019, 05:47:47 AM
Halving will reduce the supply, therefor increase the perception of scarcity of Bitcoin to the market. Which is why price can increase dramatically before halving begin. On the other hand, ETF and Bakkt, etc, increase the demand. Therefore both of them can create a dramatic increase to the price because they increase demand but the supply got reduced. Therefore, we go to the moon. But of course this is just assumption, and we'll see how it turns after the real deal happens.
1320  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to post more effectively and get more Merit. on: January 06, 2019, 04:50:51 AM
I also noticed most merit dont come from posting in a thread but from starting one. It is expected that a new thread should be informative and interactive than just for the sake starting one. Some post dont demand looking up at all let alone joining the discussion.

That doesn't mean you should make new thread everyday. In my local board there are several threads worth reading from start to the end and almost every post there is very informative, therefore get a lot of merits, even bigger than the OP. So the point is the post quality, and if you find that your post are under merited, you can post it on review threads.
