1321  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are exhanges making use of the blockchain internally? on: January 06, 2019, 04:03:02 AM
1. They trade it virtually. Each exchange has several addresses (personal address) for their user. They use this address to identify which user account should be credited if there's a deposit/withdrawal. Your assumptions are correct.
2. Adjusted volume is, as coinmarketcap define it, a volume from exchange spot market without the volume from 0-fee market and transaction mining which can be used to increase exchange volume dramatically.
1322  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Switzerland truly the best place for a crypto project? on: January 06, 2019, 03:48:48 AM
There are other countries like Estonia, Liechtenstein, and so on that also claimed to be crypto friendly because they have regulations for crypto business. Most ICO register themselves here.

Most of the times ICO is securities, it's hard to believe ICO is not securities because people invest on it for profits. Not surprised when they consider ICO securities, but I'll be surprised if they categorized Bitcoin as securities.
1323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The new pro-cryptocurrency bill written by members of the US Congress WILL PASS! on: January 06, 2019, 03:37:49 AM
I no longer care about US tbh. Even without US crypto can be massively adopted. ETF and etc is not important I think, it will be approved sooner or later when they wanted. EU is already crypto friendly, so no need to force US.
1324  Economy / Economics / Re: Friendly Bitcoin Wallet Lightning Network Launched in Australia on: January 05, 2019, 01:42:34 PM
I'm not sure if we can call LN as working. It's still very new and quite experimental imo. As for the hype, that's how it works in the market. Mainstream media keep posting what's hot and after that they'll move on to another topic. When Bakkt launch, I also believe the hype won't last that long. But it will helps long-term adoption, that's for sure.
1325  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Implant microchip- Bitcoin wallet? on: January 05, 2019, 01:00:28 PM
As cool as it sounds, I don't want to implant such thing on my body. Using hardware wallet is safe enough for me, and I wonder why we should use something like that. Won't we have more risk of being kidnapped/hacked when we use that chip?
1326  Economy / Economics / Re: Friendly Bitcoin Wallet Lightning Network Launched in Australia on: January 05, 2019, 06:51:15 AM
Seems like Australia is crypto friendly. There's also news that ShareRing, a sharering economy blockchain ecosystem , is also integrated across thousands of ETFPOS in Australia.
1327  Economy / Economics / Re: Blockchain in Healthcare on: January 05, 2019, 06:26:46 AM
Yes you were right and I will be very excited if blockhain is adapted by the medical industry. Imagine hospitals saving a patient's data using blockchain? That's too safe and permanent. No one would ever gonna corrupt the data of the patient. People needs to develip the blockhain for medical purposes as much as possible. I will wait for it and support whoever the first one to make it it.

There are a lot of ICO project trying to achieve this, such as dClinic, and so on. I think this can bring new issue on patient privacy though, if data on blockchain is easy to decode, then anyone can use the data for their own purpose. Blockchain doesn't solve this issue, and it also doesn't solve fake data being input to the network. Let's see how this turns out, my stance is the same as Pharmachist though.
1328  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Max Keiser Says Bitcoin Will Become the World’s Reserve Currency on: January 05, 2019, 06:21:06 AM
I no longer trust any opinion from anyone about cryptocurrencies price. I'd rather do my own research than trust them. But news like this can be used to know how market sentiment in general. Don't trust the opinion, use it wisely.
1329  Economy / Exchanges / Re: I need help to retrieve my bitcoin please on: January 05, 2019, 06:05:51 AM
Your case is quite unclear to me. Can you describe a little more?
1. Are you trying to make a transaction, or are you receiving a payment?
2. What's the transaction ID?

It is not possible to cancel a Bitcoin transaction, so just in case you're the one who made that transaction then it's 100% your money is lost. If you're supposed to receive the Bitcoin, then make sure to use escrow to make sure you'll receive the exact amount of your deals.
1330  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How invest to be millionaire with 100K on: January 04, 2019, 01:12:03 PM
If it were me, I'd diversify it like this:
10% cryptocurrencies.
10% stock.
10% gold/silver.
10% for trading,
and the rest I'll put on bank to get the annual interest.

But believe me, 100k is already a lot of money in my country. You can live happily with that for more than 10 years. So I might be biased. Do your own research OP, and don't believe anyone when they approach you to get your money. This place is full of scammers.

1331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Quick exchange on: January 04, 2019, 01:01:09 PM
How "fast" you need it? Judging that you're offline for a day after asking this question then I suppose using regular crypto exchange like Binance won't be a problem. You can use Binance without any KYC as long as your transaction worth less than 2 BTC. You can also use other exchanges such as cryptopia, etc. At max, you'll need 1-2 hours to exchange your crypto.
1332  Other / Meta / Re: [LIST] Banned users - [TAG] Banned users on: January 04, 2019, 12:00:48 PM
Is adding "banned" status on banned member requires a lot of coding? If not, can theymos enable it? Or why don't he enable it already?
Not sure if this has been discussed before, I don't visit meta frequently and too lazy to search :/
1333  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitcoin lowest value of the year. Other perspective on: January 04, 2019, 11:46:29 AM
Stats like this is misleading, because it shows data that are cherry picked to fit the agenda of the poster. Yes, a long-term trader can be happy with those stats, but the short-term trader <1 year> will not be happy with these stats.

The statistics is not misleading (the conclusion is), if you follow price movement from 2009 then the data is not fake. But I agree some people might not like that because they "only choose data that fits their agenda", which is looking at 1 year price action. And it's clear that the OP want to give another perspective.

A drop from $18 000 to $3500+ is definitely not encouraging for any trader looking for a good investment.  Roll Eyes People tend to look at the long-term performance of any stock, before they consider investing and that is the only positive thing that can be taken from this stats.  Roll Eyes

Depends on at what point you define long-term/short-term. If you look from the beginning, you already gain more than 3000x roi on Bitcoin, but there is always -90% decline after ATH, and 4 year cycle (mooning, ATH, drop, consolidation).

But yeah, it's unfortunate for people who bought at ATH. I can't imagine how they're feeling right now.
1334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a better store of value than gold on: January 04, 2019, 11:30:55 AM
But overall, volatility remains the biggest weakness, if not for it, Bitcoin would be very competitive with gold, because all the factors that I've mentioned are very unlikely to happen.

Volatility is a complex issue imo. Atm Bitcoin is still being viewed as speculative asset I believe, therefore most people try to join the ride and be a millionaire in one night. If Bitcoin get more acknowledgment, this volatility should decrease. But because inflation is part of the fiat system, the price of Bitcoin could rise annually, assuming more people value Bitcoin more and more.

Bitcoin has better advantage compared to gold in term of flexibility, you can exchange it without going out from your house as long as you have connection to the network. Bitcoin has the potential to beat gold, let's give it some time.
1335  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Best Type of Cold Wallet!! on: January 04, 2019, 08:01:52 AM
I rather to choose hardware wallet which more secure than other kind of wallet. I already have ledger wallet and I just store my cryptocurrencies in my hardware wallet. If you really want to hold many cryptocurrencies I suggest to use hardware wallet.

If you aim to only store your cryptocurrency and won't use it for years, then paper wallet might be good too. You don't have to buy any device.
1336  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to post more effectively and get more Merit. on: January 04, 2019, 06:57:05 AM
It is still the knowledge and how witty an individual will going to present the details of his posts.

Right, the length of the post doesn't really matter. What count the most is the information and ideas you put on your post. If your idea/information is not scarce to look, just usual / common sense logic, it is very hard to get merits to rank up. There's really no other way to learn how to post 'correctly' other than reading the posts of top merited members.
1337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Private blockchains solution? on: January 04, 2019, 06:39:55 AM
Companies are adopting the private blockchain solution not because decentralization but because they can't trust other entities they share data with.

Then they should not use blockchain at all. Centralized database with secure encryption is enough. Private blockchain = centralized database with several backups.

But honestly, even if you use private blockchain, in the end you need to share your data with other entities, won't you? How will you do your business if you don't share your data with others? (assuming it is required to do so)
1338  Other / Meta / Re: Temporary Banned Accounts on: January 04, 2019, 06:06:13 AM
Could the user got a chance to recover the account? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5092895.0

No. Plagiarism = perma ban. There's no 2nd chance. He's explicitly doing plagiarism, not summarizing other texts. You could avoid that if you read the rules.
1339  Other / Meta / Re: Why do I get banned I didn't do anything wrong? on: January 04, 2019, 05:55:32 AM
if by chance moderators, can you please release my account and if I have done something wrong I wouldn't probably do it again.

Instead of begging like this, why don't you read rules in the first place? It's hard to believe you're not intentionally plagiarizing when you copy-paste the whole text as mentioned by jonemil.
1340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MICROMINES - The Future Of Decentralized Exchange on: January 04, 2019, 05:41:38 AM
Essentially there's no difference between DEX. It seems this exchange want to provide another DEX with the same function. I believe the token itself is not required if you want to build a DEX. Well, they already do an ICO though, and it seems quite successful.
